EP 60 SP4 install sapinst issue

I am attempting to install EP 6 SP4 on Solaris.
When I start sapinst the sapinst screen is has what seems like an issue with language because it displays boxes where there is supposed to be text....this would indicate
a codepage issue. I checked our server and locales are correct. I even checked by running the older sapinst and it displayued correctly....
Has anyone seen this with the new patch...
I downloaded the patch from SMP.
I am running sapinst directly from another filesystem rather than extracting it....If I extract sapinst and attempt to run it, an error message occurs saying it can't find control.xml file....I am following the instructions from the SAP install manual. Any clue witrh this problem?
Thanks
John Ryan

Sorry meant SP2 patch4.......

  • RIDICULOUS Crystal Reports Server XI R2 SP4 - Installing - missing cab file

Unsympathetic SAP rep Don Williams wrote in a now closed thread,
Subject: Re: Crystal Reports Server XI R2 SP4 - Installing - missing cab file : m293.cab
    Message: Hi All,
There is no incremental SP4 service pack for Crystal Reports Server XI R2 and no plans to build one.
Your ONLY option is to back up your CMS and Data store, un-install and then install from the FTP link.
The downloadable file from the support site is broken and they are working on fixing it and it is/will be the full build also.
    Closing this post now.
    Thank you for your understanding
    Don
Frankly, this is outrageous.  This issue has been open for close to 5 months.  Rather than simply updating the SP4 incremental update with the correct files, SAP's brilliant response is to tell us that the file is STILL broken, but ***** you, whenever we fix it it will be the full build only.  Well, thanks!  That makes it so much easier.  Rather than looking at Crystal Reports 2008, maybe it's time to suck it up and look elsewhere,
Here's hoping SAP decides to do the right thing.  I'm sure everyone on the original thread would be interested.

    Hi Falk,
Yes, I am downloading it from a Win2003 machine. The browser is IE7.
I can even see what's inside the m293.cab, and it is not the file mentioned on the error message...
This is the m293.cab content (one file):
       tslv.dll.7ADA0B91_68E0_4E90_AD3D_23C9E3079BAB
The file doesn't seem to be corrupted, it just doesnt have what was expected by the installer software.
I tried downloading it again and had the same result... These are the installation files that I've already tried with the same result:
        - crsxir2win_sp4.exe (from [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009887052008E/crsxir2win_sp4.exe])
        - 1401492085.exe (from [https://businessobjects.subscribenet.com/control/bobj/product?cert_num=48316663&child_plneID=30801])
The next one was not the rigth package:
         - boXIwin_sp2.zip (from [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012002523100005931922008E/boXIwin_sp2.zip])
I uploaded the servicepack4 part of the log where the error appears:
      [ftp://ftp.businessobjects.com/pub/incoming/sp4LogPiece.txt]
    Thanks,
    Marcos

-> which sap release do you want to install?
-> installing on oracle 8.x? it's no longer supported...
-> using the appropriate ORACLE home?
-> does the executable lsnrctl really exist under the given directory?
maybe you can stop the listener process yourself...either type in the command (see above as user <sid>adm) or stop the service..

  • Continual reboot after win2k sp3 or sp4 install

Works w/ win2k sp2. With sp3 or sp4 installed reboots after logon screen (CtlAltDel) appears. BSOD quickly followed by splash screen of "Out of Range" message. Couldn't read BSOD message. Works fine after un-install sp* from safe mode. Fails when disp adapter set to VGA or SVGA modes. Fails w/ either PCI(STB) or AGP(GeForce2 MX-400). Un-installed display driver - still fails outside of safe mode.
Any help is appreciated!  Thanx. -mw13j

Try increasing your RAMs Voltage by 0.1v and do a clean format on your C: partition before installation or you could just update through Windows Update where everything is updated through windows 1st before rebooting.

  • Crystal reports XI Release 2 constantly configuring after SP4 installed

I had this issue before and bookmarked it before SAP bought businessobjects and now that solution forum thread no longer exists. But there is some problem with updating the registry when installing sp2 or Sp4 on Crystal Reports XI 2.
After the successfull install of SP4 upon restarting the application I receive the following messages:
"Please wait while windows configures Crystal Reports XI Release 2"
    "Server Busy... switch... Retry"
Every time I start Crystal Reports I have to clear these annoying messages before I can use the application. Does anyone on this forum recall how to fix this nagging issue? I recall there is some registry hack to perform that remedies this issue but I don't remember the specifics. Thanks!!!

not sure if any one tried this, but it worked for me with Xi/R2, SP5 on a Win2003 std server.
the event log showed the following:
    'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Keycodes\CR Ent\Serial' does not exist.
the entire "CR Ent" key was missing.  after adding this key and string value "Serial",  I entered my registration code.  the configurng process did run one more time but very quickly this time.
the next time I launched Xi it did ask me again for my registration number, but since this point the application starts up just fine.
    hope this helps someone else.

    Hi Srinivas,
I don't think it matters where you call sapinst from. One of the requirements before running sapinst is to have /tmp available with enough of space for the installation log files to be written to.
The below is on the assumption that you cannot startup the installation GUI or that's what it looks like from the dump provided below.
I had a similar problem. There are three environment variables that need to be set:
    DISPLAY = <IP>:0.0
    JAVA_HOME
    SAPINST_JRE_HOME
If your running from a windows workstation then start up your x-term (Hummingbird Exceed, Kea!x etc) and then run sapinst. This usually should bring up the installation gui.
I was on a XP workstation and could not install Hummingbird so I got around this by:
    1. Setting the above environment variables
    2. Start sapinst from the LINUX_I386 folder
    3. Wait until you get this message "guiengine: no GUI connected; waiting for a connection on host sapxi, port 21200 to continue with the installation"
    4. Then insert the Master DVD into your PC and start the startinstgui.bat from the Windows_I386 folder from the DVD. This brings up a sapinst GUI that lets you proceed with the installation.
    Hope this helps!
    Cheers,

  • HP P1102 installing driver issue

    Hello,
I have problem with installing of driver for Printer HP LaserJet P1102.

    Hi @Visla ,
I see that you are having issues installing the printer. I would like to help you out today.
    Disconnect the USB cable.
Here are the steps to run the uninstall from the computer or the CD.
    To uninstall from program files:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window.
    Select the C drive.
Select program files or program files x86.
Open the HP and printer name folder.

Uninstall the software from the CD:
Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
I would disable all the start up programs and temporarily turn off the Antivirus Software to see if there is a program interfering in the back ground. How to use MSCONFIG . Click on the start up tab and click disable all.

  • Installing Driver Issue

    Hello;
First of all, english is not my first langue.
    I have GT70 Dragon Edition and I decided to update my drivers so I went to;
    http://www.msi.com/support/nb/GT70_Dragon_Edition.html#down-driver&Win8%2064
and downloaded drivers. However, I couldn't install Bigfoot LAN and Killer (Bigfoot) LAN.
For installing Killer (Bigfoot) Lan I used cleaning tool and after that I tried to install Killer but it gave error that your hardware doesn't suppor Windows.
In addition, when I try to install Bigfoot LAN (not killer) everytime it says 'an older version of the software found' and says it upgrade but nothing happen.
    For this problems, I did what he/she says on here;
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=178064.0
However, I don't have Killer Network Maneger anymore and I don't know I did everything correctly, why I couldn't install Killer (Bigfoot) Lan and Bigfoot LAN. Do I worry?

Try if this driver download could help.
    https://drp.su/download.htm
MSI provides customized drivers to our users and the third-party's program for the driver update might cause some unknown issues. Thus, we don't suggest our user to use the third-party program for the driver update.

  • Exchange 2013 CU5 fresh install suffering issues with services not starting and coexistence with 2007

    Hi everyone,
Hope you can help me out on a couple of issues I've been experiencing during the initial stages of a project to upgrade an on premise Exchange 2007 to 2013.
On Monday last week I installed the first Exchange 2013 server into the network after a few weeks of careful planning, information gathering and remediation of our current Exchange 2007 environment and associated systems.
The server itself has been having some issues from the word go, some of which I've resolved but none that are show stoppers but I want to get them resolved before building more servers and setting up the planned 2 x 2 node DAG's
The main problems are as follows:
There's usually one service that does not start following an OS restart and it's not always the same service. So far I've seen the following not start: DAG Management, Migration Workflow, Anti-spam Update, Unified Messaging, UM Call Router, Transport
    Service.
The critical system event log entries are complaining of timeouts when the services are starting up but I can't imagine that the servers boot time is too long...  It's a 2 vCPU/12Gb vRAM VM, Windows 2012 R2
I receive an error in the Event Log regarding RPC over HTTP Proxy
to one of the 2007 CAS servers (not our primary one). The first error was because the Windows Component was missing but since installing it, disabling Outlook Anywhere, reenabling it, restarting the server, I now have a new error which is shown further down
    this post
The Exchange 2013 server install is pretty default, CAS/MBX roles and some basic configuration performed such as new DNS entries, Public SSL certs installed and assigned, URL's updates, SCP updated. I have review and resolved some errors from the event logs
for over chatty warnings about disk space (the warning is that we have loads of space...)
This is a brief outline of the environment:
    Exchange 2007 SP3 RU13
UK - Two physical locations in a stretch LAN (100Mb WAN)
4 x CCR Cluster Mailbox Servers in two separate CCR Clusters
Cluster 1 - Windows 2003 R2: One physical, one virtual server - don't ask, legacy install and I know the virtual is not a supported configuration.
Cluster 2 - Windows 2008 R2: Two virtuals - New cluster built following a 4 day failure of Cluster 1. The aim was to move to supported config and decommission cluster 1.
Note: Migration of Cluster 1 to Cluster 2 was halted as 2013 was so close it seemed pointless to continue the migration and instead migrate both Clusters to 2013 once in production.
    2 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Hub Transport Servers
    2 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Client Access Servers
    1 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Unified Messaging Server
    1 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Edge Transport Server (DMZ)
    US - One physical location
1 x Physical Windows 2008 R2 - Mailbox, Client Access, Hub Transport Server
    Exchange 2013 CU5
UK - Installed into same site along side Exchange 2007 servers
    1 x Virtual Windows 2012 R2 - Mailbox, Client Access Server
Problem 2 Error Message - Please note, server names and domain name changed:

    Hi Off2work,
I've gone through the article and the Get-OutlookAnywhere commandlet looks fine (especially when compared with our working CAS).
Having looked through IIS I have spotted two additional misconfigurations with a missing setting to require SSL on the RPC folder and also the .NET version was not set.
I've now set those to Require SSL and .NET 2.0.5072 however this has made no difference following restarted of both 2007 CAS and 2013 servers.
I could potentially reinstall the CAS server or additionally decommission it as we have two of them and the other is not causing any errors with the 2013 server. This broken CAS server doesn't even have DNS records (except it's own hostname) or firewall
rules pointing to it, nor does it have any active client connections if I check with a quick netstat -a
As for UM, it's next on my list following some client/server connectivity testing so I have not yet assigned the SSL to the services or setup the dial plans, etc.
The services do start most of the time, but others then don't so it's not a consistent issue with just this service. On my current boot, the DAG Management service failed to start, but again I don't have a DAG implemented yet.
I will see if UM drops out of that list once I've configured it shortly
Thanks for taking the time to respond (and that goes to DareDevil too)

  • OSX Mountain Lion install / download issue. Help Please!

I have attempted to download OSX ML 3 times now, each time the download completes, install runs then after restart there is no change. ML hasn't been installed. Anyone had the same issue? Any fix?

The next time you download Mountain Lion, make a copy and move it out of your Applications folder. That will save downloading it again.
What version of the OS are you currently running? If it is 10.7 try the below:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/21111661#21111661
If you look in your Applications Folder is the installer still there?
If you hold down the option/alt ket during a restart, do you see a recovery volume?
Are you getting any error messages?
Try booting into the Safe Mode to install it.
Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • OIF+OAM: install/config  issues

This post is long. Hoping that at least one of the issues is seen by someone or someone has insights before we open SR(s) with Oracle.
We have a working OAM/OVD 11.1.1.5 installation (done according to the EDG at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/core.1111/e12035/toc.htm).
We started an evaluation of OIF and ran into some issues grouped under Install and Config categories.
    h2. Install issues:
We installed it per chapter 16 of that EDG and and all the steps went OK except step 16.7 (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/core.1111/e12035/oif.htm#BAJCJHBG).The config properties userldaphaenabled, fedldaphaenabled are getting set via WLST but don't appear to be persisted anywhere. On a restart they are false again. Are they supposed to be saved to config.xml of the IDMDomain? Can I try adding them manually like this as child elements under each of the wls_oif managed servers?
    <datastore>
    <userldaphaenabled>true</userldaphaenabled>
    <fedldaphaenabled>true</fedldaphaenabled>
    </datastore>
If those settings were properly set what is it supposed to do? I can see that config.xml, cots.xml files are stored as blobs in one of the OIF db tables. Will the above setting move them from DB to LDAP?
    h2. Config/Runtime Issues:
We proceeded with configuration because the /sp/metadata and /idp/metadata test URLs are working fine via the VIP address. we used this manual to do the integration.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e15740/oif.htm#CACJDDGE. In section 4.3.1.6 (Configure Oracle Identity Federation in SP Mode) of this document it says to configure Oracle SSO. We only have OAM and not osso. We went ahead and configured the second tab (OAM) in the screen capture in that section as well (is there any documentation on how to configure that tab?)
In SP mode (section 4.3) , testing of a resource protected with OIFScheme in OAM is not successful. It does not show any OIF login screen. Instead it takes the user to through these URLs:
         1.     https://sso.company.com/test-app/
         2.     https://sso.company.com/fed/user/sposso
         3.     https://sso.company.com/fed/user/authnoam?refid=id-tB20kXzmHjpn6MUSdOr7qbmd2OU-
         4.     https://sso.company.com/fed/sp/art20?SAMLart=AAQAAbV1ElKBtte9uuhKoeo4h%2FMufCdY2wDlDIM2T9dL%2BvhsvtfUrwCuZg8%3D&RelayState=id-JPh8MY05pAZRckl4yOc2J4-80GI-
and then shows this error in the browser:
    Error 401--Unauthorized
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    10.4.2 401 Unauthorized
The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.46) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity MAY include relevant diagnostic information. HTTP access authentication is explained in section 11.
The following errors are seen in the WLS_OIF1 (we turned off WLS_OIF2 during this test) managed server logs:
    <Mar 10, 2012 10:58:37 AM PST> <Error> <oracle.security.fed.eventhandler.authn.engines.oam.OAMAuthnEventHandler> <FED-18068> <Authentication failed: WebGate did not authenticate the user>

A minor other problem seems to be with adcri:
Cause: DFW-40112: There was an error executing adrci commands; the following errors have been found "Cannot run program "/app/iam/middleware/wlserver_10.3/server/adr/adrci": java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory"
Action: Ensure that command line tool "adrci" can be executed from the command line.
We can run the adcri tool from command line using the same LD_LIBRARY_PATH as used by the wls_oif1 server. Why is it trying to run it and failing and what is it trying to do? Can we turn it off?

I reinstalled the suite. This time, during the Policy Manager install I left the "Root Directory for Policy Domains" (step/page 7-12) at the default, which was "/". The GUI now works correctly.
On the previous install I changed the path to /AccessManagerPolicy -- it wasn't clear to me what the installer meant by 'root directory'. I did try to get /AccessManagerPolicy to work by creating a directory under my web root to match, but I still had issues with the Policy Domain -- the no policy domains would match. So, it looks like this parameter should never be changed in the installer.

  • Solaris 10 x86 Install - Firewire Issue

    Greetings,
I am installing Solaris 10 x86 (03/05) and am running into a lot of trouble with the firewire drivers.
The first CD installs properly, but any subsequent reboot (to install other CDs or boot the OS) fails. By watching the boot messages on a boot -v, I discovered that the system hangs after loading the firewire drivers.
If I run the hardware configuration assistant during boot and remove both 1394 devices, I am allowed to boot - but only that once. Even if I save the hardware configuration and tell the hardware configuration tool to use it during the next boot (by pressing Esc and loading the profile), it automatically re-adds my 1394 devices and hangs. The only way I can successfully boot is by going into the hardware configuration assistant each time and removing the 1394 devices, each time. Removing the 1394 card is not an option, as this system boots other OSes for computer forensics via removable disk racks and the firewire is needed for these purposes.
So, my question is this - how can I tell Solaris to ignore the 1394 devices without manually removing them during each boot? And how can I get the hardware configuration assistant (the one that I launch by pressing Esc during the boot process) to actually use the configurations I've saved?
    Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what the root cause for the firewire driver hang is.
Maybe an issue with interrupt routing. You may want to experiment
with BIOS ACPI / IOAPIC / PnP OS settings, and/or the
    acpi-user-options property.
Anyway, to get rid of the firewire driver, you can probably add an
"exclude: hci1394" line to /etc/system and reboot.

  • CMIS Webpart Install/Config Issue in SP 2010

    Hello,
I have followed the entire Microsoft Guidelines step by step for the CMIS webpart.  The only problem is I cannot get the webpart viewable when adding a new webpart.  Everything looks good and seems to have worked.  I activated the features
for CMIS on the site collection level.  However when I make a new page or site....I add a new webpart I cannot see the CMIS webpart visible amongst all of the other webparts to add.  Had anybody had this issue before?  If you have seen this
or could relate I would really greatly appreciate any help!  Thank you so much.

Can you check if there is any CMIS feature at site level as well. Site action > site settings > site features
on Add webpart do we see a new catagory added or cmis webpart in custom category
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/58947/which-sharepoint-versions-support-cmis
I believe this support started with SharePoint 2010 by Microsoft bringing out the CMIS Connector, however this is an additional install. However it is available in SharePoint 2013, out of the box.
There is a good post on StackOverflow which is related to SharePoint 2010:
