EP 7 Portal stylesheet with WD ABAP

We run a WD WD ABAP application and want to use the EP 7 stylesheet with the iView:
- we use the WD iView
- Stylesheet -> ur
- Supply Portal Stylesheet -> yes
a) What values are possible for stylesheet. "ur" does not mean anything to me. We have tried our own stylesheet there (value "demo") but it did not show any effect (we got an error).
b) I have used a personalized stylesheet, but it did not show any effect. the portal layout changed but the WD ABAP not.
Any idea.

Thanks for the answer, already a good direction. However it does leave a couple of questions open:
T1: From your thread Best practice creating an Corporate Design (Layout) with a web dynpro I understand that I can use WDTHEMEROOT with sap_chrome etc.
A) These are the styles from the WebAS ABAP, right? Means the styles in the MIME repository there.
B) What do I have to do when I want to use my own style. I have successfully imported a style sheet into the WebAS and used with sap-cssurl. Are there any restrictions where I have to import the css (the path on WebAS) so I can use it with WDTHEMEROOT
T2: Style sheet of Portal
I still have the style sheet value in the iView of the portal (value "ur"). I have absolutely no clue, what values I could use there. I can only tell that I have tried to set my own style there which resulted in an error.
Is there any complete documentation about this topics, besides some SDN posts I did hardly find anything.

  • Connect Portal with several ABAP system

Hi, I need help with a question
I can connect (integrate) the portal system with several ABAP system?
example, The same portal connect with ERP, CRM, BW and SCM.
    This is possible??

You simply need to maintain your System Landscape and configure a system alias per each abap backend system as starting point. All the info is available at help.sap.com read below link

  • Using People Centric BSP without Portal Stylesheet

    Hi,
we upgraded to CRM 5.0 (WAS 7.00 SP 10). Now we face problems with the company's portal stylesheet with our PC UI applications.
Has anyone around here an idea how we can use SAP standard stylesheet without modifying our system (for example in CL_HTMLB_CONTENT)?

SAP BW Bex 7.3 Queries not working with Enterprise Portal (EP) 7.3 ABAP Stack
    Dear Portal Gurus,
we want to integrate SAP BW Bex Queries 7.3 into an Enterprise Portal 7.3 EP ABAP Stack only installation.
    1) We have Done SSO between EP And BI System
    2) System Object is Created
    3) When we trying to create Iview of BEX 7.3 report, its executing that report on BI server, we don't have java stack on BI System
    4) We have updated the required table in Bi system for executing the report on EP
    5) RFC is OK, System Object Test is OK, Report is working independently from Business Explorer, but not working from EP
There no irj services available on BI system, as it is only ABAP stack.
Can anybody help us in achieving our requirement
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Michael,
To integrate portal with BI you need to perform BI Portal integration steps.
Refer to a document link below for guidance purpose.

  • Unable to created users through UME on portal with AS ABAP as its data sorc

    Hi,
Unable to created users through UME on portal with AS ABAP as its data source.
I have assigned SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION to the user SAPJSF but this only helps in editing the already existing users but not in creating new users on portal.
I have checked that that the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION is properly generated and has *  in all authorizations. I have even assigned SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW to SAPJSF and another ID.
DO we need to make any config changes to make the database writable from portal. Please advise.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
If your system is a AS ABAP + +JAVA System,, you have to do the following
    1. Login to Client 001 using SAP GUI
    2. Create a user id
    3. Login to portal and you will be able to see the user.
    4.Assign him the portal rights
If you want the portal to use seperate Database for USers, there is a setting in Visual admin, that you can change for the same, but i dont remember that

  • Portal Theme in Webdynpro ABAP

    Hi Experts,
I want my portal theme to get applied to the webdynpro abap application. But WDA application is not adapting the portal theme.
This is the version of the theme's style sheet in portal=7.1.3.0.1;ur=7.1.3.0.1;7.1.3.0.0(Major version.minor version.SP.patch.generation run)
The version of Webdynpro abap theme is 7.11.3.2.0.
Portal Version is NetWeaver 7.0 Ehp1
and SAP Basis Version is 701 and level 5.
    Is there  version incompatibility?
    How can I solve this.
    Thanks and Regards
    M.Karthiheyan.

    Hi M.Karthiheyan,
Please follow below steps to apply Portal theme in Webdynpro ABAP.
    1. Go to transaction SE80 and navigate to the MIME Repository
    2. Create a folder in the MIME repository that will contain all the custom theme files. Make sure the folder is created in following directory /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/<theme_name>
    3. Go to the Repository browser in SE80 and select u201CProgramsu201D from the drop down list.
    4. Enter BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS in the input field and hit Enter
    5. Execute the program and enter the MIME repository path to the folder that is to contain the custom theme. Our custom theme is located in MIME path /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/<Theme Name>
    6. Execute the program and select root folder that contains all the custom theme files.  The custom theme can be directly pulled down from the file server on portal or can be exported from Portal Theme Editor and imported into Eclipse Theme Editor in order to generate the necessary css files. We only need the root folder that contains the actual css files and images. The upload process might take a while depending on the size.
    7. Once the upload is complete, go back to the MIME Repository and check if the files were uploaded.
    8. To specify a theme at the global level you can execute WebDynpro component WD_GLOBAL_SETTING. Maintain parameter u2018Stylesheet URIu2019 with the MIME Repository path of the custom theme (i.e. /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/<custom_theme>).
    9. Enter the path under "Stylesheet URI:" and select the check box which says "Force use of External Stylesheet".
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Within the iView of WD Abap application go to the property Support Portal Stylesheet select 'yes', if it is set to No it will take the theme defined in the ECC System.
You can find the SAP Delivered themes in the Program WD_THEMES using the same you can upload your custom theme.
The theme loaded using WD_THEMES can be found in SE80 under the path defined below:
    Mime Repository - SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/nw5/ themes/CUSTOM/
And all the object including the headers are stored under the location mentioned above.
And if you want to replace the standard theme with your custom theme please make the changes in the application below:
    WD_GLOBAL_SETTING
Change the Application Parameter - Stylesheet URI: /SAP/PUBLIC/BC/UR/nw5/themes/CUSTOM/xxxx
xxxx is the new custom theme you uploaded.
Please ensure the WD Abap iView property Support Portal Stylesheet is set to 'No'.
    Hope this helps.

  • Portal Integration with CUA

I am implementing CUA for my SAP landscape and would like to incorporate our portal but I am unsure how to do this.
I have changed my portal UME to point to the ABAP system as it's datasource.
I am unsure how I can get my portal roles assigned to my portal users from the ABAP system.
When I create a user I need the ERP users creating with ABAP roles and the Portal user creating with Portal roles, which are not the same in both systems.
How can I acheive this.  I do not have an LDAP.
    Regards
    Graham

    Hi,
interesting questions. Portal is running on top of Netweaver platform (Java stack). Hence no Apache web server. I doubt that it supports any Apache modules. You can use Apache as reversed proxy in front of SAP portal. Check note 480520 with attached configuration guide. I don't know answer for your question regarding REMOTE_USER setting.
SAP portal supports all standard [authentication methods|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/8a/cb136e68592f478266d19bb2b89766/frameset.htm] supported by Netweaver. Probably the only possible way is to use [SAML|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/94/695b3ebd564644e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]. [Here|http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/tivoli/library/t-cssosap/index.html] is a how-to guide how to set up SSO based on SAML between Tivoli and Netweaver applicaiton server.
Also search on net. I found links to interesting presentations (e.g. [this one|http://www.switch.ch/aai/support/presentations/ws-sap-2010/ETHZ_AAI_SAP_SAML_Artifact.pdf]).

  • Portal using Webdynpro for ABAP

    Hi Gurus!
I am using one portal using 'Webdynpro For ABAP'. It contains Contextual Panel as well as ViewUIContainer. Contextual Panel contains all the reqd options available for user; while ViewUIContainer contains diff views as requested.
Now, I'm trying to make a copy of that Webdynpro with some other name. What happens is --
Application is not there and when I try to make one - it says
    "Interface View Does Not Exists."
Further, when I try to make an Interface View with the new name - it says
    "Interface View Does Not Exists."
Therefore, what I could conclude about the case is -- may be Interface View is default to certain Webdynpro components/interface. Hence, my question is how can I make use of same webdynpro application with some other name. This requirement arises due to the fact that we have to add some more functionalities to that and I dont want to play with the efforts made so far.

  • Role Mapping For Portal Role Assignment and ABAP Role Assignment

    Summary:
    - Under the GRC configuration of Roles> Role Mapping we are trying to utilize the  role mapping feature in GRC for associating a dependent role to a main role.
    - We want to use this role mapping feature for the purposes of adding an Enterprise Portal role for every ABAP role that gets approved for the user in an ABAP component system (i.e. ECC, BW, CRM etc). We will have a 1:1 mapping of Enterprise Portal role to ABAP role defined in the role mapping section in GRC.
    - We want to set up the workflow in such a way that the main role (ABAP role) is the only role that needs to be approved. The dependent role (Enterprise Portal role) should be added or not added based on the approval or denial of the main role (ABAP role). In other words if the role owner for the abap role approves the abap role, then both the abap and EP role will be provisioned by GRC and if the role owner rejects/denies the role, then neither the abap or EP role will be provisioned by GRC.
    Problem Description:
    Our Scenarios we tested:
    Scenario 1:
Main Role:  Attached to Initiator A & workflow A (routes to single approver based on role)
Dependent Role:  Attached to Initiator B & workflow B (routes to auto approval or no approval)
*Problem with the Scenario 1setup above, the dependent role will always get approved & provisioned regardless of the approval or denial of the main role.
    Scenario 2:
Main Role:  Attached to Initiator A & workflow A (routes to single approver based on role)
Dependent Role:  Attached to Initiator A & workflow A(routes to single approver (same as main approver) based on role)
*Problem with the Scenario 2 setup above, the dependent role will always also need to get approved by the same approver as main role and it opens the possibility that the approver may accidently approve the main role and deny the dependent role, which is not the ideal setup as we inherit the risk of human error.
    Questions:
    1. Does the dependent role need to be defined in an initiator at all since it will never directly be requested directly?
    2.  If the dependent role does need to be in the initiator file, please describe how to properly setup the initiator and workflow stage & path so that we can maintain the desired relationship with the main role approval dependency? (if the role owner for the main role approves the main role, then both the main role and dependent role will be provisioned by GRC and if the role owner rejects/denies the main role, then neither the main role or depedent role will be provisioned by GRC
Edited by: Rene Griffith on Feb 26, 2010 10:22 PM

    I tested this set up.
    1.  Defined ABAP role as Manin role
    2.  Defined Non-ABAP role as dependednt role
    3. ABAP role  is set up in initiator requiring business approval.
    4.  Non-ABAP role is set up in initiator with no approval required.
Results Where Business Approver approves the ABAP Role
    1. Only the ABAP role is displayed in approver view which is desirable.
    2.  ABAP role is approved and Non-ABAP role and ABAP role is provisioned.
Results Where Business Approver rejects the ABAP Role
    1. Only the ABAP role is displayed in approver view which is desirable.
    2.  ABAP role is rejected but  Non-ABAP role is provisioned which is not what we want.  We want the Non-ABAP role not to provision if the ABAP role is rejected by the business approval.
    Thanks again for your help.

    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?threadID=744043
SAP CONNECTORS:- Basically Connectors are like middlewares , that we use to connect to the backend system including Non SAP systems also. Will try to explain it to u with some examples of SAP Connectors:-
    a) SAP Business Connectors:-
A middleware application based on the B2B integration server from webMethods.
The SAP Business Connector enables both bi-directional synchronous communication and asynchronous communication between SAP applications and SAP and non-SAP applications.
The SAP Business Connector makes all SAP functions that are available via BAPIs or IDocs accessible to business partners over the Internet as an XML-based service.
The SAP Business Connector uses the Internet as a communication platform and XML or HTML as the data format. It integrates non-SAP products by using an open, non-proprietary technology.
    b) SAP Java Connector:-
SAP Java Connector (SAP JCo) is a middleware component that enables the development of SAP-compatible components and applications in Java. SAP JCo supports communication with the SAP Server in both directions: inbound calls (Java calls ABAP) and outbound calls (ABAP calls Java).
SAP JCo can be implemented with Desktop applications and with Web server applications.
SAP JCo is used as an integrated component in the following applications:
    1) SAP Business Connector, for communication with external Java applications
    2) SAP Web Application Server, for connecting the integrated J2EE server with the ABAP environment.
SAP JCo can also be implemented as a standalone component, for example to establish communication with the SAP system for individual online (web) applications.
    To Know more go through,
    SAP Java Connectors
    II) ALE Concept:-
ALE is not restricted to communication between SAP systems, it can also be used for connecting SAP Systems to non-SAP systems.
By using IDocs as universal information containers, ALE can reduce the number of different application interfaces to one single interface that can either send IDocs from an SAP system or receive IDocs in an SAP system.
SAP certified Translator Programs can convert IDoc structures into customer-defined structures.
Alternatively, the RFC interface for sending and receiving IDocs can be used in non-SAP systems.
In both cases you need the RFC Library of the RFC Software Development Kit (RFC-SDK).
This link gives a great insight into landscape for Connectivity to Non-SAP systems:-
    SAP to Non-SAP systems
III) Communication Between SAP Systems and External (Non-SAP) Systems using RFC:-
When you use RFC for communication with an external (non-SAP) system, you can also implement the SAP Java Connector or the SAP .Net Connector for the conversion of data. However, there are no specific security requirements for these components, since they only perform internal system conversion functions.
The additional security recommendations for communication with external systems in this section make particular reference to cases where an external system is used as a server (SAP calls the external system). If you use an external system as a client (the external system calls SAP), the appropriate SAP-specific security mechanisms are implemented on the SAP side.
This link explains in detail all the security considerations you need to take for connecting to an External Non SAP system like, User administration, Network Security etc.
Communication Between SAP Systems and External (Non-SAP) Systems using RFC

  • CRM (Abap + Java) connect with WAS (Abap + Java)

    Hello collegues,
i have installed Netweaver 7.0 with Enterprise Portal.
    Now i must connect
WAS with CRM system, but i do not what i have to connect ABAP - ABAP parts (RFC connection type TCP) or Java - Java parts (in visual admin in JCo) or ABAP - Java ( no idea how)? Which users are using for?
    The second task -
i have tryed to create some user in portal but got message "error in persistence"?
In useradmin in EP i saw that standart users from R/3 Abap are there. May be i fogot to set something after installation?
Thank you very much for any idea.
    Julia

    Hi Julia,
for CRM you don't need to "connect" the Portal (Java) with the CRM (ABAP) system.
    It is "just":
    - import of the CRM Business Package
    - definition of a system in the portal pointing to the CRM
    - setup of SSO (if you want SSO)
    The error with the persistance:
You already have connected the Java UME to the ABAP system. In the ABAP you have a user called "SAPJSF" - this user has only read permission on the users. You have to assign another role to that user: SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION instead of SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO

We are implementing ESS for a country not deliverd by SAP.
We copy the folder of ESS/MSS, for modify the role of Employee Self-Service and add more iview/page/ to this role customer.

2.) I am in process of designing the ESS Homepage framework for Travel and Expenses. We are onto ECC6.0 with Enh Pack4.
In SPRO, we have got new resource links which are for Webdynpro ABAP.

    Object name : FITV_POWL_TRIPS
    URL Parameter : SAP_FITV_EXIT_OP=CallAreaPage
All other properties are empty like URL of Resource Object and URL of PCD Page.

    Hi balaji,
If you portal version is 7 then proceed as follows.
BI 7.0 required ABAP and Java engine.
You can install the ABAP part alone and then use the existing portal that you have currently for BI also.
Apply the BI-JAVA related support packs in the portal.
Establish the connectivity between BI-EP as it is required for BEx Web application.
    For establishing the connectivity refer
