    I'm trying

    Hi Antoine,
    Thanks for response.
Are you able to connect to this ECC system using either:
    - a SAP tool like SAP logon
    Yes, I can.
    - a BI tool like information design tool (if you have access to it)
Yes, I can access. I can also connect UNX universe which is built on ECC with Webi as well. It's only in Lumira which is not working.
-Can you try from SAP Lumira changing the language used?
Yes, I tried to change different language (US and UK both) but not working.
-As the base error from your log file raised from ECC is
This error log is generated from Lumira only.
    Thanks,

  • Crystal connectivity with ECC 6.0

    Hello,
I have Crystal 2011 and I am trying to connect to ECC 6.0 to adapt a few SAP Best Practices. I am able to access Infosets from ECC 6.0 but I am not able to access any table. I have tries searching. Also, when trying to adapt SAP Best Practices Crystal Reports, I am unable to update the Crystal Reports that use tables from ECC 6.0. I get the below error:
Some Tables Could not be replaced, as no match was found in the new data source. Please specify the table required for any unmodified tables.
I am able to connect to ECC 6.0 and access Infosets. Only when I try to access a table, I see this issue.
    Any help is appreciated!!
    Thanks!

    Hi,
did you install all SAP drivers for Crystal Reports 2011 ?
the ABAP Transports have been imported to the SAP system ?
What is the message you receive when you try to create a new report in Crystal Reports designer using tables ?

  • EP6 SP2 [WAS620] Can Connect with ECC 6 [WAS700] ?

    Here portal is EP6 SP2 [WAS620]
And Backend Server Upgrading to ECC6.0.
Is it possible to continue with Portal 6 with ECC 6 ?
Any specific SAP Note for this compatibility ?

    Hi Sumanta,
that depends on what you are doing. If you have for example "only" some SAP transaction iView that should still work.
Also other JCo based iViews will work -- you will however not be able to run the latest business packages for ESS (for example) because they require a EP7.

  • BI connection with ECC

    Hello BI experts,
Iam BASIS guy and working on SAP R/3 4.72 to ECC6 upgrade project.I have few tasks which is related to BI7.0 & source systems
Let me put like this current landscape
    SAP R/3 4.72 -  DVE               QAS          PRD
    SAP BI7.0          BD1               BQ1           BWP
Now we are upgrading SAP R/3 4.72 to ECC6 in seperate hardware in parallel ladscape.Copy DVE to another system and different SID ( EC1 ), QAS to (EQ1) and PRD upgrading on same hardware.
So we will have to maintain two landscape parallely till live. And then we will break old source system SAP 4.72 and continue with new systems ECC.
I know as per SAP best practice we need sepearte BI landscape for upgrade landscape instead of same hardware. But customer can not spend money for new hardware and they wanted to go with same hardware.
I will Integrate BD1 to new source system EC1 and similar to QA, but after creating this source system I can see duplicate two source systems , one old and another new. And again 2 info packakeges and 2 process chains and etc..
How we can handle such type of landscapes? Do we need any BI manual activites? and how much effort we have to put?
    Your expert solutions greatly appriacted?
    - Jim

    Hi,
Creating Source System (SALE): This step creates source systems which are to be connected.
    1.
Assigning Source System to Client (SALE): This step gives a logical name to a SAP Client from which the communication is to be established.
    2.
Setting up RFC Destination (SM59): This step is required to establish remote connection to the partner with which Source system is trying to communicate. Here one has to maintain the logon and IP details of the target system.
    3.
Distributing Data Model (BD64): A distribution model is used to model a distributed environment in which you specify messages exchanged between sending and receiving systems. Here one has to define the message protocols with which the two systems will communicate.
    4.
Generating Partner Profile (BD82): This process generates a partner profile for each system with which your system communicates. Outbound records are created in the partner profile for each outgoing message, and inbound records are created for each incoming message.
Note: If one distributes Data Model before generating partner profile then one has to redefine partner profile in other system also (repeat step in both system). In this document we are generating partner profile after Distribution of data model so as to demonstrate how to maintain inbound and outbound message types in WE20.
    5.
Maintaining Message Types (WE20): This process is optional. Generally while generating partner profiles we automatically get the respective Outbound and Inbound messages, which can be checked in T-Code WE20. If the message types are not defined then one can manually do it by following this process.
These steps will ensure that the BW and other source systems are in sync and will communicate as expected.
    SAP COMMUNITY
Step 1: Define Logical System in R/3
Step 2: Assigning Logical System to Client
Step 3: Setting Up an RFC Destination
    Step 4: Distributing Data Model
Message Types Involved in Process of Data Loading
    Step 5: Generating Partner Profile
Step 6: Maintaining Message types in T-Code WE20

  • Why we need ABAP if we can connect With Crystal Reports to SAP R/3

    Hi,
I am new to Crystal reports.I came to know that we can connect SAP R/3 by using SAP InfoSet,SAP Table Cluster and Function connectivity in Crystal Reports. So we can generate reports for SAP R/3 database with out need of ABAP.So why we need to go ABAP module. Is there any disadvantages if we dont use ABAP to generate reports or we can use always Crystal Reports to generate Reports for R/3 database?

    Hi,
it is correct that you can built a Crystal Report without the need to use ABAP, but we have lots of customers that have invested over the years into ABAP Routines and Crystal REports is able to leverage those as well. So with Crystal Reports you have the choice to leverage existing ABAP Functions as a source for reporting - which might help to leverage complex processing on the backend - or to use InfoSets and tables.

  • Regarding Connection to ECC 6.0

    Hi All,
This is regarding connection to ECC 6.0
I have created a system in
    System Admin ---> System Landscape --> My_Folder
For the system I have given the foll. parameters for Connector
    Application Host
    SAP Client
    SAP System Id
    SAP System Number
    Server Port
Do I need to give something else in order to make the connection with ECC 6.0
Also how do I test the connection.
    Please help. It's urgent.
    Regards
    Nikhil Bansal

    Hi
When I am testing for the Connection then I get the foll. Results
    SAP Web AS Connection
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Check the validity of the system ID in the system object
    2. Check whether the system can be retrieved
    3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
    4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
    5. Check HTTP/S connectivity to the defined backend application
      Results
    1. The system ID is valid
    2. Retrieval of the system was successful
    3. The system object represents an SAP system
    4. The following parameters are valid: WAS Protocol (http) WAS Host Name (xyz14.xxx.com:8000)
    5. HTTP/S connection failed
Seems the WAS Host Name is valid.
What does  HTTP/S connection failed mean.

  • Is it possible to use XSS 2005 on EP7 with ECC 5.0 ?

    Hi all,
I have an ECC5.0 and I want to upgrade my EP6 to EP7. I'm using XSS 2004 on EP6 and I want to use XSS 2005 on that EP7. I've seen on different notes that it is not possible to use XSS 2005 with ECC 5.0 as a back end.
Is there any solution to connect XSS 2005 to ECC 5.0 ??? Please I really need a positive answer
    Thanks,

    Hi Joseph,
I have gone thru same problem in my last project but my situation was little different.
Actually Business Package of ESS/MSS has two components:
    1. Portal Objects (iView, Roles, Pages etc )
    2. XSS - The Java WebDynpro Code (which in turn contain 3 component SAP_ESS, SAP_MSS, PUSIC_GP)
Also the prerequisite is that we should have SAP_HR (will give HR functionalities in ECC) and EA_HR (contains RFC, structure required for XSS).
Now the restriction imposed by SAP is that SAP_HR, EA_HR and XSS should be on same version and patch level. Make sense also. However there are situation where you can deviate from above restriction. (I will explain the same below).
So what you can do is to install the Portal objects(iView, Roles, Pages etc ) on EP 7.0 (can be installed on EP 6.0 and federated to EP 7.0), install XSS 2004 on EP6.0 (having JAVA 640) and connect the same with ECC 5.0.
You are looking to install Portal Objects, XSS 2005 on EP 7.0 and connect with ECC 5.0. This is possible but NOT recommended. Actually XSS 2005 WebDynpro will look for enhanced structures, RFC in ECC, which XSS will not find and will throw dumps (sometime java and sometime SAP dumps). You can fix the problem by manually installing the new functionality but believe me it is VERY cumbersome task and will make your system highly unstable.
What I would advise you is to look into your requirement once again and educate your end client with the problem and take appropriate action accordingly.
Do let me know if you need any further help.
    Cheers,
    AB

  • Problem with ecc 6.0

    hi experts,
       I had installed ecc 6.0 ,
while installation i had selected EP, ep core and Process      Integration component also.
i want to configure the SAP XI , how can i do it
    plz help me
Edited by: kavitha l on Jan 17, 2008 5:53 AM

    Hi,
First you need to read the master guide for ERP2005 carefully,
you need ECC and NW04s component toghether on a single server,
The installation of the following product instances of product version SAP ERP 2005
requires a large amount of memory and makes substantial demands on the host
    performance of the CPU:
SAP NW - Adobe Document Service
    SAP NW - EP Core
    SAP NW - Process Integration
look at sap Note 855534 - Embedded NetWeaver Components in ERP read it carefully,
when you want to use XI/PI with ECC 6.0 ,SAP NW -Process Integration must be set up in a dedicated client
    now for configuring XI/PI
    login into
    service.sap.com -> Release & Upgrade Info -> Installation & Upgrade Guides ->SAP NetWeaver ->SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1
here you can find instalation of SAP PI as well as the basic configuration document

  • SAP ECC 6.0 IDES connectivity with internal BI server

    Hell All,
We have a connectivity issue for SAP BI with ECC. we have a sap ECC6.0 EHP3 instance running in the customer landscape used for training requirement. In the ECC 6.0 we do also have SAP BI server in the same instance. Now customer want to use the same BI server which is in the same SAP ECC 6.0 IDES without installing an additional instance just for training purpose. As a part of the acitivty we do need to know whether we can configure the BI to R/3 data extraction for this instance. ECC have 800 client and BI also works in the same 800 client. Can we configure the SAP ECC to BI source system configuration and do the R/3 to BW data extraction scenarios. also want to know whether we can do the Process chains and other stuff for training requirements.

  • Connection to ECC with SAP Logon Group failing

I'm creating a new system connection to an ECC backend using a logon group (transaction SMLG in ABAP stack).  I have created the connection with the wizard as a SAP_R3_LoadBalancing connection and given it the appropriate Group, Logical System Name, Message Server, Remote Host Tppe and SAP Client.  Also I've given it an Alias.
SSO is working correctly between the portal and ECC.
The System Connection Tests > Connection Test for Connectors works, as can been seen::
    Test Connection with Connector
      Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
    1. Retrieve the default alias of the system
    2. Check the connection to the backend application using the connector defined in this system object
      Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
    Connection successful
However, if I try to connection to this system with the Alias, it fails.  If I change the alias to a system with a standard R3 connection with a specified hostname, it works.  The /etc/services is correct and contains the appropriate entries.  Any ideas?

    Hi Srikishan,
Thanks for the response. When user from CRM logged in another language than EN for eg. FR, clicks on external link in CRM, takes to EN, only if that language FR is not installed in ECC, else it will take to the same language in which CRM user logged in. This cannot be controlled in SSO configuration. Is this correct?
In case if FR is installed in both the systems, ie CRM and ECC, but user wants to log only to EN when clicked the external link(to ECC) from CRM, how we can configure this, Is any parameter can control or SSO setup configuration available? Please advice.

I have to do a customizing for connect two ECC 6.0 and one SAP CRM 7.0, only I need the organizational structure from both systems and they need update when the structure from CRM has changes. The business partner goes to ECCs system by PI interfaces.
Both organization models are different, so I have to maintain and update depending the changes in the business.
But I don't know if this is possible, I don't know if we can do this by Middleware, ALE or PI.
Can you please, give your oppinion about this topic?

  • BarCode Reader Connection with sap

    HI,
Our client is using a bar code reader machine which is  build on pocket pc technology. Now they want that when  barcode on some item like a table is scaned by that machine its extra information will be read from sap asset master data. like to whom this table is belong.
Now is there any standard connector through which we can communicate between sap and bar code pocket pc.
    Thanks,

    Hi Szymon,
Please compare your settings with the "Administrator_Guide.pdf", chapter 7.3 Connecting SAP ERP to SAP Business One integration for SAP NetWeaver (page 44 -59).
In your B1i SLD entry for your second ECC connection, check segment RFCP:
The value in field "programID" must be unique for each ECC connection and equally maintained on ECC side (transaction SM59).
Please start the test connection in ECC (transaction SM59) and make sure, that you have an activated scenario in B1i with your ECC as sender system. Otherwise the RFCP test connection will fail.
You can also have a look into following discussion: RFCP Connection to B1iSN -
