  • T-code SUIM taking much more time for generating output for profie change.

    Hi All
    We want to extract report for profile addition and deletion for Users in ECC 6. While executing the the t-code SUIM it is taking much more time (taking more than 20 hrs). This problem is coming after patch application
    Please give the solution/Suggest to minimize the time taken in report generation.
    Thanks-

    Hello Prasad,
    The reason for the performance trouble is a new feature regarding the user change documents. Since note 874850 and 1015043 you will get a more complete overview about the changes regarding a user.
    The disadvantage of that new feature is, that in some customer system usage scenario, the performance is very poor. That's the case, if the central change documents are intensivly used also by other applications and the tables CDPOS, CDHDR, ... contains a very big count of rows. Unfortunatly the user change documents can not be searched by the key columns of the central change docs. - so the bad response time can explained.
    What now ... ?
    There are some work arounds to get the change documents on faster way.
    1st. - You can get the former report output and performance if you
           would use the report RSUSR100 instead of the new RSUSR100N in
           separate mode.
    2nd. - If you want to use the new report RSUSR100N directly and only
           want to get the information about the traditional topics
           (content of USH* tables) you should only mark the search areas
           on the tabstrip 'user attributes') to get a better performance.
         - furthermore limit the date range, if possible
    3rd. - You should regulary (monthly) archive the user relevant documents
           for PFCG and IDENTITY from the central change documents.
           As per our note 1079207 chapter 3 you can reload that archives
           into more selective tables.
           The selection for change documents will be rather faster over
           reloaded archived documents than the documents in the
           central change documents tables.

  • Test program running taking much more time on high end server T5440 than low end server  T5220

    Hi all,
    I have written the following program and run on both T5440  [1.4 GHz, 95 GB RAM, 32 cores(s), 256 logical (virtual) processor(s),] and  T5220 [(UltraSPARC-T2 (chipid 0, clock 1165 MH) , 8GB RAM, 1 core, 8 virtual processors )] on same OS version.  I found that T5540 server takes more time than T5220. Please find below the details.
    test1.cpp
    #include <iostream>
    #include <pthread.h>
    using namespace std;
    #define NUM_OF_THREADS 20
    struct ABCDEF {
    char A[1024];
    char B[1024];
    void *start_func(void *)
        long long i = 6000;
        while(i--)
                    ABCDEF*             sdf = new ABCDEF;
                    delete sdf;
                    sdf = NULL;
        return NULL;
    int main(int argc, char* argv[])
        pthread_t tid[50];
        for(int i=0; i<NUM_OF_THREADS; i++)
                    pthread_create(&tid[i], NULL, start_func, NULL);
                    cout<<"Creating thread " << i <<endl;
        for(int i=0; i<NUM_OF_THREADS; i++)
                    pthread_join(tid[i], NULL);
                    cout<<"Waiting for thread " << i <<endl;
    After executing the above program on T5440 takes :
    real 0.78
    user 3.94s
    sys 0.05
    After executing the above program on T5220 takes :
    real 0.23
    user 1.43s
    sys 0.03
    It seems that T5440 which is high end server takes almost 3 times more time than T5220 which is low end server.
    However, I have one more observation. I tried the following program :
    test2.cpp
    #include <iostream>
    #include <pthread.h>
    using namespace std;
    #define NUM_OF_THREADS 20
    struct ABCDEF {
    char A[1024];
    char B[1024];
    int main(int argc, char* argv[])
        long long i = 6000000;
        while(i--)
            ABCDEF*  sdf = new ABCDEF;
            delete sdf;
            sdf = NULL;
        return 0;
    It seems that T5440 server is fast in this case as compaired to T5220 server.
    Could anyone please help me out the exact reason for this behaviour as my application is slow as well on this T5440 server. I have posted earlier as well for the same issue.
    Thanks in advance !!!
    regards,
    Sanjay

    Repeating the post isn't going to get you a response any faster, and actually now have people NOT respond because you are not showing any patience.

  • Application server 10g R2 taking time to load.

    hi all.
    i am using oracle Application server 10g R2 when i boot my windows server 2003 R2 then
    its taking time to load application server more than 5 min what is the problem
    why its taking time to load?
    any onw knows?

    JVM (java virtual machine) If you have a full stack, infrastructure + BI forms you need 2 gb at least only to install, if you plan to make some work on it it could happen that the computer get very slow.
    In opmn.xml file, in the seccion for the home container (or other you are using) there is a line for Start Parameters, there you have to use the -Xmx1024M to se the maximum JVM size to 1gb, for this you will have to restart the proc.
    For forms also there are some procs where you manage the size of the memory and procs, you can see this in the Configuration Seccion into the EM Console.

  • Is there a way to speed up the "Java Loading" screen time?

    Hi.
    I'm having a big problem with that. I'm running the JRE 1.6u3 on Windows XP SP 2, on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 3800+ (2GB of RAM), and the "Java Loading" screen time of web started apps is too high (about 15 seconds when I just restarted the pc, and 10 seconds after the first load... is that right?).
    What Web Start do when it is "loading" ? The loading time of a standard client VM is pretty faster (like, uh, 1/4 second?).
    Thanks.
    Hidralisk

    The Java Loading splash is only shown untill the Main class of java web start is invoked and can put up the download progress dialog. I don't know why it would be so sow, but this should be improved by the Java Quick Start featurew put in jdk 6u10 (see http://download.java.net/jdk6/)
    the bug 6506138 has been escallated and is being vigorously investigated. (it would probably pertain more to the time durring which the download progress window is shown or beyond)

    Having a single internal hard drive overfilled (drives slow as they fill) is very likely contributing to your problems, but IMO "my Aperture library being on the same internal Tera byte drive as my operating system" is very unlikely to be contributing to your problems. In fact the Library should stay on an underfilled (roughly, for speed, I would call ~half full "underfilled") internal drive, not on the Drobo.
    Instead build a Referenced-Masters workflow with the Library and OS on an internal drive, Masters on the Drobo, OS 10.6.8 (there have been issues reported with OS 10.7 Lion). Keep Vault backup of the Library on the Drobo, and of course back up all Drobo data off site.
    No matter what you do with i/o your C2D Mac is not a strong box for Aperture performance. If you want to really rock Aperture move to one of the better 2011 Sandy Bridge Macs, install 8 GB or more of RAM and build a Referenced-Masters workflow with the Library and OS on an internal solid state drive (SSD).
    Personally I would prefer investing in a Thunderbolt RAID rather than in a Drobo but each individual makes his/her own network speed/cost decisions. The Drobo should work OK for referenced Masters even though i/o is limited by the Firewire connection.
    Do not forget the need for off site backup. And I suggest that in the process of moving to your new setup it is most important to get the data safely and redundantly copied and generally best to disregard how long it may take.

  • JSP taking time to load

    Hi All
    I am having a strange problem. The JSP file is taking to much of time to load and the IE doesnot responds properly even after the the page is loaded. I agree that the JSP has significant amount of Java code in it. What could be the problem?? The response from the server is coming fast. The page is taking time after recieving the response from server.
    Regards

    What could be the problem??Slow hardware, slow code, perhaps some other app is eating your resources, could be anything really. I think its time for a profiler.
    The JSP file is taking to much of time to load and the IE doesnot responds properly even after the the page is loadedIE is the best browser for improper behavior, but how exactly is it misbehaving in your case? It might be a bad piece of javascript that is causing it head aches.

  • PartitionOn taking time

    Hi All,
    We have weekly maintainence for essbase cube. There are total 2 source cubes and target cubes for the reporting purposes. The target cubes are accessed through the
    partitions. During weekend maintainence process we load the data into the cube and in the end we run the Partitionon.bat script to create partition betweeb the cubes
    here the problem comes "the script is common for all the countries but for some countries the script excutes in 20 min and for some countries it takes nearly 1hr even
    though the cube size is very less when compared with the countries which execute first".
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi MattRollings ,
    As i said we are having two types of partitions one is for statitic reports and the another for the dyanmic reporting. yes the script which we use to for partitionon will create the partitions. The Script is common for all the countries and the script runs like this
    1.First it creates the Transparent partition.
    2.Then to create the Replica it refreshes from the two source cubes after that aggregation happens asually.
    The main problem comes here during the refresh from the source to the Target its taking time. To say exactly during the refresh from source to the replica its taking 15min. For the other countries its taking only 8 min of time.
    I have gone ahead to compare two different countries replica cubes size what i found is that one country cube size is 2Gb and the another one is 2.5Gb the one which is having less size taking 20min to complete and the other one takes 1hr time. Even though the second one is .5GB extra when compared with the first it should take 25min to create the replica partition.
    what might be reason to consume more time while creating replica partition? Is it dependent on Defined Blocks, Actual Blocks,Non missing leaf blocks etc?
    Thanks Matt in advance.

  • Form printing taking time.

    Hi experts,
    From me23n trnasaction , when i click on print preview and take an output type system is taking time to display adobe form.
    what could be the reason for this, custom program is linked to the adobe form.
    Please help me in this regards, its u
    jayant.

    Hi,
    There are a number of elements;
    The print progam
    - Could contain inefficient database access or other slow running code
    The adobe form
    - Could have inefficient ABAP code in the interface initialisation
    The ADS
    - Could be under-speced or overloaded with requests
    The frontend
    - Could be under-speced, unable to launch the adobe viewer in a reasonable time
    The first two you can identify using regular perfromance tuning techniques (search for more help), the other two would need basis or desktop support input.  Also, you might need to consider the network that joins all of these steps together.

    Hello Experts,
    I am running a procedure which is taking too much time during execution. How can I found that which statement or query in the procedure is taking time. Is there any package available to check this out.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Manish

    Execute the below query to find out the session id of the session in which your procedure is getting executed.
    [c]
    SELECT s.sid
    ,s.serial#
    ,ddl.name
    ,ddl.type
    ,ddl.owner
    ,s.status
    ,s.osuser
    ,s.machine
    FROM dba_ddl_locks ddl
    ,v$session s
    WHERE ddl.session_id = s.sid;
    [\c]
    Once you get the sid,execute the below query to know which DML its executing:
    [c]
    SELECT /*+ leading(s) */
    s.sid
    ,s.serial#
    ,st.piece
    ,st.sql_text
