EP6: Switch positions of Detailed Nav and Dynamic Nav iviews?

By default, the Detailed Navigation iview is, from the top of the screen, first, then the Dynamic Navigation iview.
Is there any way to switch this?
I tried changing the layout of the Desktop Innerpage (from the content list of the Default Framework Page), but these two iviews aren't even visible in the Edit Layout Screen.

Hi Eric,
you should be able to see these iViews there. Just continue clicking on Edit (select Desktop Innerpage first and then click on edit). In the next screen you should see several iViews (among them Detailed Navigation and Dynamic Navigation) now click on Layout and you should be able to change the position of these two iViews.

And it is only a problem if you want a blank first screen. Personally, it would drive me nuts always having to swipe over one page to get to my apps - the only time I unlock my iPhone is to use it or run an app, so no, I have no need nor desire to have a first screen with no icons at all.
But, if they'd put it in as an option so people like yourself can also have what they want, that's fine too So send them your feedback (they actually do listen - iOS 5 includes a number of things people have been asking for on these forums, like being able to delete individual entries from the call history, inproved alerts/notifications, being able to opt out of all the location based data they collect,...).

Branding and static text in detail nav.

I have a requirement to add some static text at the bottom of the detailed navigation in the portal. I accomplished this by creating a static HTML page in KM, creating an iView that points to that document, and assigning that iView to the Detailed Navigation of my page. The problem is, the role that contains this will be widely assigned across the company, which means it will fall under several different brands. No single background color of the static HTML would look good across all brands, so I'm not sure what to do.
First of all, is this the proper way to get the text there? Secondly, what do I need to do to solve the branding issue?

You can use dynamic navigation iviews for the purpose.
Create an iview with the text you want to display below detailed navigation.
Then add this iview to dynamic navigation area of the page.
(For Assigning Dynamic Navigation iViews check the below link)
Now when that page is shown in the portal,the associated dynamic navigation iview content
(i.e, ur static text)will be seen in the navigation panel(below detailed navigation).

Where is the Detailed navigation and related link configured for the ESS/MSS.
Is it done in the Homepage Framework configuration?
I could see different navigation and related links for different worksets within ESS/MSS getting called dynamically. Where is this configured.

If you haven't made it at this point, this is indeed done via the Home Page Framework via the backend on the following IMG PATH:
> Cross-Application Components
> Homepage Framework
1. You make a resource available via the Role (via PCD)
2. You customize every other part as a cascade:
Define Area group / Headers
-> Define Areas / Assign Area to Area Group
-> Define Subareas / Assign subarea to Area
-> Define Services / Assign Services to Subarea.

Standard CRM Business Package appearing in Detailed Nav

Hi,
When we try to access the standard CRM Business Package content through our portal, all the content (including iViews and Pages) start appearing in the Detailed Nav instead of the content area.
Any clue about how to resolve this problem?

I don't no to much about the CRM BP but this sound like the iViews on the page have been assigned to 'dynamic Navigation' instead of Page Content. Did you have a look at the pages in the PCD?

In simple words:
DHCP Snooping is a feature which is available on switches. This feature is used to prevent rogue dhcp server attacks.
In the diagram, a valid dhcp server is connected to the network. The computers are suppose to receive dynamic ip addresses from the valid server. An attacker implants a rogue dhcp server on the network as shown in the diagram. The following steps are followed for a client to receive an ip address from a dhcp server.
When a client (computer) is connected to the switch and is configured to receive a dynamic ip address from a dhcp server, the dhcp service on the client, sends out a DHCP Discover packet, searching for servers on the network. This packet is broadcast in nature. DHCP servers on the network, would respond to the DHCP Discover packet sent from the client. In the example, both the DHCP servers would respond to the DHCP discover packet. The client would process the first packet it receives. If the response send by the rogue dhcp server reaches the client first, then the computer would have an ip address provided by the rogue dhcp server.
To prevent this, dhcp snooping is configured on the port on which the valid dhcp server is connected to. After the configuration is performed, no other ports on the switch would be able to respond to DHCP Discover packets from the clients. So even through the attacker has set up a rogue dhcp server, the port on the switch to which the attacker has connected would not be allowed to respond to DHCP discover packets. Thus dhcp snooping thwarts the attempt from the attacker in setting up a rogue dhcp server.

ISight positioning different between PhotoBooth and iMovie

Hi there, I just came to notice that the positioning of the camera when using PhotoBooth is pretty much a straight perfect view. When using iMovie to capture a video, the view is switched to the opposite side and the positioning isn't as straight as the view when captured from PhotoBooth. If anyone has any insights to this it would be great! Many thanks.

The problem now is that it loads all pages instead of only the home. Therefore i wanted this Progressive Enhancement.
And the fading part is just because its nice...

How to acheive Pagination and Dynamic sorting in Web layout.

I'm new to Oracle Reports. I use Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2.
I tried creating a template for simple tabular report. I modified the tempalte for Paper layout, Web layout ie modified .tdf, html, css files.
When the data is dispalyed in the web browser, i need to do Pagination and dynamic sorting (ie when the column heading is clicked, it needs to do sorting by that column).
In the jsp page of the report, it is possible but i want to incorporate this functionality in the Template. So that a single template can be used across multiple reprots with out any modification.
Can any one please tell me how to do this.
Please reply me at the earliest. Its very urgent.

You'll need to switch from using Partial Page Rendering to full page submits on that report. In version 4.0 we should be getting more control over event handling in PPRs but to what extent is still unknown.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like <i>Adblock Plus</i> or <i>NoScript</i> or <i>Flash Block</i> that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>Safe mode</u>:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut

Hi , I was reading a detailed article about templates and I came across the following paragraph

Because the value of N is known at compile time, the underlying array (data) can be placed on the run time stack instead of on the free store.
This can improve runtime performance by avoiding the overhead associated with dynamic memory allocation.
Now in the above paragraph what does

The run-time memory model of a C or C++ program consists of statically allocated data, automatically allocated data, and dynamically allocated data.
Data objects (e.g. variables) declared at namespace scope (which includes global scope) are statically allocated. Data objects local to a function that are declared static are also statically allocated. Static allocation means the storage for the data is available when the program is loaded, even before it begins to run. The data remains allocated until after the program exits.
Data objects local to a function that are not declared static are automatically allocated when the function starts to run. Example:
int foo() { int i; ... } Variable i does not exist until function foo begins to run, at which time space for it appears automatically. Each new invocation of foo gets its own location for i independent of other invocations of foo. Automatic allocation is usually referred to as stack allocation, since that is the usual implementation method: an area of storage that works like a stack, referenced by a dedicated machine register. Allocating the automatic data consists of adding (or subtracting) a value to the stack register. Popping the stack involves only subtracting (or adding) a value to the stack register. When the function exits, the stack is popped, releasing storage for all its automatic data.
Dynamically allocated storage is acquired by an explicit use of a new-expression, or a call to an allocation function like malloc(). Example:

Your example of a Stack class (not to be confused with the program stack that is part of the C or C++ implementation) uses a fixed-size (that is, fixed at the point of template instance creation) automatically-allocated array to act as a stack data type. It has the advantage of taking zero time to allocate and release the space for the array. It has the disadvantages of any fixed-size array: it can waste space, or result in a program failure when you try to put N+1 objects into it, and it cannot be re-sized once created.

Workset in Detailed Nav needs to default to OPEN

Hey Everyone,
Quick question.. I have a Workset attached another workset. The 2nd workset shows up in the detailed navigation section.. which is what it is supposed to do.
What I am trying to figure out is.. How do I make it default that it is always 'Open' in the detailed nav so you can see the contents without clicking on anything??

AFAIK, you would get the workset2 as a "folder list" in detailed nav ? And when you navigate to workset1 the detailed nav will open with workset2 as selected. This is similar to the problem when you add room parts to rooms.
The solution is to put the initial content you want to be displayed in a page and then set the property "Default Entry for Folder" of this page to "YES". Then when you navigate to workset1 the page of workset2 gets loaded by default without clicking on the page.
