    Hi, gurus:
    where can i find ess configuration on ep7.0 with backend R/3 4.7?
    in nw04 and nw04s, ep use JCo connects backend.
    what connection type is used by r/34.7?
    Thanks

    Hi Chrina,
    If you look at the link below it states what SAP recomends your release should be for each business package:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio
    ESS 50.4 -> EP 5/6, R3 4.6C/4.7
    ESS 60.2 -> EP 7, ERP 2004
    ESS 1.0   -> EP 7, ERP 2005
    I have implemented ESS 50.4 with EP7 and both R3 4.7 and ERP 2005.  It can be done, but when I spoke to a contact from SAP they stated the landscape I was using was not recommend and there was no documentation availbale for the specific landscape.  You have to use bits of documents from various guides.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

  • UWL behavior in EP7 SP9...Please guide

    Hello All,
    Has anyone configured UWL on EP7 SP9?
    I have configured UWL but facing one issue like - when manager approves/reject any task or item, the UWL does not refresh automatically.
    Does the version force UWL to be refreshed manually, unlike in EP6 where it happened automatically.
    Also please let me know:
    1. What is he default executionMode - pessimistic or optimistic?
        The standard UWL configuration xml includes pessimistic for some tasks and for some its value 'default'
    2. In case I have to change the GuiType to WebGui (over WinGui), where all do I need to reflect the change?
    Awaiting Reply.
    Thanks,
    Ritu

    Hi
    navigate to  "Optional Universal Worklist Service Configuration"
    if u navigate from system administration --- sys configuration -
    universal worklist and workflow -
    universal worklist administration --- then open the tray of "Optional Universal Worklist Service Configuration"
    there u select the default execution mode as pessimistic or optimistic.
    If described in xml i .e default execution mode : pessimistic then this setting is valid only for that particular code area.

  • JDI installation on ep7 sp9 , aix

    Hi all:
       We would like to some some customization on leave request on ESS in ep7.
       We want to install JDI server for EP7, sp9.
       During EP installation, we did not install JDI.
       Can we install JDI server independently ? Where can we find install files ? Where can we find installation guide ?
       Thanks a  lot.

    Hi jianhong,
    you'll need to install a separate Java System and then deploy the JDI components into it and configure them.
    In detail, it's:
    - take care that the correct java version is installed on your server, for AIX see SAP notes 1024539 and 716927
    - installing the SAP java system, depending on the database - software you can download the installation guide from http://service.sap.com/instguides => Netweaver 7.0 => Installation (there you'll find planning guides, installation guides, etc.)
    - installing the Support Package Stack - I suppose you'll need SP09 - see http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks
    - configuring SLD (if you do not already have one, you'll need an SLD for the JDI, see download the installation guide from http://service.sap.com/instguides => Netweaver 7.0 => Installation => 5 - Configuration => Post Installation Guide - SLD...
    - then deploy the JDI (= NWDI): you'll find the sca-files under http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks - you'll need: JDI BUILD TOOL 7.0 SP09 (SAPDEVINF...), JDI ONLINE 7.0 SP09 (SAPBUILDT...) and JDI OFFLINE 7.0 SP09 (SAPDEVINFF...)
    - configuring JDI - see also: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e0b2b146-5776-2910-4a8f-9b3190eab060
    Hope that helps as a start.

  • Is EP7 compatible with BW3.5

    Hi All,
    We have BW3.5 and we want to upgrade EP5 to EP7.
    I would like to know whether EP7 and BW3.5 would work perfectly?
    Is there any limitation or issue if we use BW3.5 and EP7?
    Do I need to use only EP6 with BW3.5?
    Thanks

  • Configuring portal content EP7 SP9

    Hi experts
    I have finished installation Enterprise 7 SP9 and now want to configure it.Iam using SAP Best Practices for portals v1.70 .When i try to configure the portal content ,the browse tab is coming out empty as i need to create a system that will connect to the portal.Am i using the correct BP or i need to import a SCA for that.
    Your  ideas are most welcome.

    Hi Tsungy,
    Are you using IP address to access portal,if so access the portal with Fully Qualified Domain name instead of IP address after making an entry in the host file,i.e,
    http://<hostname>:<portnumber>/irj/portal
    Hope this helps,

  • Custom login module for EP7.4 with Captcha

    Hi
    I am trying to create a custom login module which validates the captcha shown at the login screen using SAP help link:

    The session is being set in the Captcha servlet which is used to render the image on the login page.
    However when I am trying to compare it with input or print the session value, its throwing an exception.

    Ramanender Singh

    Ramanender,
    JAAS modules usually requires a restart whenever you need to change them. So be very careful with what you expect once you re-deploy your code.
    Once the library is loaded it will never reload itself until you perform a restart of the VM.
    Connect to the debug port may help, but basic debugging will not take you too far either.
    I would recommend you to use the log tracing facility on your code. Just enter the following class attribute:
    import com.sap.tc.logging.Location;
    private static final Location trace = Location.getLocation(<your_classname_here>.class);
    trace.warningT("Some Warning Text Here..." + variable here);
    trace.debugT("Some Warning Text Here..." + variable here);
    You may need to go NWA and set the Location Severity Level to Debug according to your needs.
    Leave the trace code on your module for IT personnel to debug it if necessary. Don't forget to have the severity level of your code properly set.
    Meaning: You don't want to have every trace message your module sills out with warningT() or infoT().
    There is a excellent blog here on how this works
    Then you will be able to inspect some variable contents while the callbackhandler is being executed.
    Pay special attention with the timing - variables have a lifetime when dealing with login modules.
    Use the entering(<method_name>) and exiting(<method_name> just ot make sure where in the code the variable should be populated and when.

  • NW 7 SP9 with NWDI want to update SP17

    Hello Gurus,
    We are using Netweaver 04 SP 9 with NWDI and would like to update to SP17.  If someone out there that have done this before, could you please provide some feedback and step by step procudure on how going about getting this done.
    Thanks so much in advance,
    Dave

    you can only upgrade to iOS 8 right now, you can't upgrade to the version lower than that. if you tried to do a software update and its prompted you with the "software is up to date" message, try to restart your iPhone by press and hold the power button and home button until the phone screen is off and on again automatically (usually within 10 seconds) then try to check the software update section again.

    Hi Andi,
    Thanks for Reply...
    we are using portal with ADS LDAP for user authentication.

  • EP7 SP15 VC issues ...

    We just upgraded our portal from EP7 SP9 to EP7 SP15 and I am running into several issues with my Visual Composer apps:
    1.  I have a signal in that I called RESET that I reference in severa places in the same model.  In SP 15 it tells me that I am not allowed to have DUPLICATE signal ins.  The reason I have them in several places is I want the event to be triggered and then reset fields in several places at once.  I had to move all my data to one reset signal in and then re-draw my links from that one place to all the other places in the model where I want it triggered.
    2.  I have another part of the app that has a nested window and when the window is supposed to be launched the window comes up blank
    3.  I had code that escaped out double quotes in a condition and now I am getting an error on it.  I had to change my code to look for CHR('34') instead instead of the string with a double quote in it.
    Is anyone else having problems with VC apps and upgrading to EP7 SP15???
    Thanks,
    Angie

    SAP suggested to upgrade to SP16 and we did but then we had VC issues with URL encoding with our BAPI calls to ECC.  So SAP suggested upgrading to SP17 which is supposed to come out in October.

  • Urgent: Portal access using SSO with Windows NT

    Dear all,
    I'm planning to implement SSO for Portal with Window NT authentication.
    Can anybody explain me the steps to do...
    If the internal users logs in NT domain say..("ABC"). he/she should be authenticated to Portal without giving logon credentials.. automatically they needs to enter into portal.
    I'm using NW'04 SR1(EP6.0 SP9) with AIX 5.2/oracle
    Microsoft ADS(LDAP)
    Pl explain me...
    Appreciated with reward points...
    regards
    PRadeep

    Hi,
    in order to apply windows SSO you will need to install the IIS proxy module in front of your portal, this module knows how to handle users authentication using the NTLM/kerberos features MS ADS supports.
    the specific procedure for implementing it can be found in the documentation/help. i have managed to find it in the EP6 sp2 security guide but i think it is the same for the EP6 SP9 as well. so just go to this link:
    <u><b>https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/ep/d-f/ep 6.0 sp2 security guide.pdf</b></u>
    keep in mind that you will need to be logged on to SDN.
