EP7, UWL, change Personalize View options

Universal Worklist IView -> Personalize View
We would like to remove all options from the Personalize View (e.g. attributes and their work order, sorting properties etc) except for "Items to be displayed per page" under the Data Properties heading. Does anyone know how to do this. For anyone answering, please note that I am not a portal administrator
Many thanks
Jon

Hi Jon,
there is no possibillity to configure the UWL personalization iView itself (pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/uwl/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui.uwlPersonalization).
You only can remove the "personalize" menu item completely.
So if you want to implement your requirement you need to modify the UWL personalization iView or develop your own.

Sascha

  • How can I batch change the view options of multiple playlists?

I would like to select multiple playlists and batch change their view options; seems like an obvious feature that should be there, but it does not seem to be there. I know of Assimilate View Options v2.2 in Doug's AppleScripts, but this is not what I want, since AWO requires you to do the change playlist by playlist, i.e., not in batch mode (and I have hundreds of playlists ...). Any idea? Please answer privately at [email protected] since I do not read this forum regularly. Thanks in advance for your help!

did you also check out the following script ?
    [_*Change Hidden iTunes Preferences v2.4*_|http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=changehiddenprefs]
This application will allow you to invoke hidden iTunes preferences:
    Show "Library" playlist
    *Changing view setting is global*
    Allow half-stars in ratings
    Hide "Ping" buttons
Show/hide arrow links -- to either search the iTunes Store or search your library
Load complete iTunes Store preview before playing
Create playlists for purchased song collections
Play songs while importing or converting
Create file names with track number
Maintain grid view for Search results
Option-click zoom button for Mini Player
    Show buttons horizontally

  • Changing default 'View Options'

Is there any way to change the options selected by default when a CD is read in or when a playlist is clicked. I find that I virtually always have to go to the 'View Options' command to enable the 'Composer' field. How can I make this field be displayed automatically?

    droydi,
I had the same problem on 10.6.1.
The solutions seem to leave out a few caveats.
I got it working for me on Windows by...
Under Library, Click your "Music" library.
Under the "View" menu, make sure that "as List" is ticked! (This was the stumble for me as mine was "as album list" and none of the solutions worked)
Under "View" again, click "View Options", in the window that pops up select your columns.
Rearrange your columns. (I didnt do this step)
From now on a new playlist will get the colums (and ordering?) you set up for the Library-Music "as List" view.
You can change the Library - Music view to "as Album List" or anything else if you want and a new playlist will still use the "as List" settings
    Hope it helps

  • Changes in viewing options in iTunes 8

    Hi all,
I have had a disappointment with iTunes 8 in terms of the viewing options. I used to view and sort through my library in the list view mode where I would have 3 columns to choose from genre, artist, and album. This was a very convenient and rapid way to sort through and find music I was looking for. This option appears to be gone from iTunes 8. Is it? Why? I am not a fan of sorting through a long list. The grid viewing option does not please me so much either. I see no reason to bog down my system with all the cover art...
So does anyone know if it is possible to restore the list view with the 3 sorting columns I had in previous iTunes versions?

    Within iTunes:
    View->Show Browser. Or just CTRL-B
    Best of Luck

  • Change view options for only one window

Usually I prefer to view my windows as icons, but I like certain specific windows to show up in list mode. On 10.4, in the View Options, there was an option for "This window only" but that seems to be missing in 10.5. Am I just blind???

I agree. i enjoyed that feature in 10.4. It drives me nuts that if I want to change the view options for one folder because of the way I want to view its specific contents, the rest of folders on my system changes at the same time. I would appreciate it if each folder had a "memory" of its own view option settings.
However, I acknowledge that sometimes you would want to change a setting that affect all windows. But it shouldn't overwrite the remainder of the settings. If, for example, you wanted to change the text size of every icon in every window, but leave everything else as set in each individual folder, there should be an option for this!

  • Changing View Options for only 1 folder

I tried changing the View Options for Documents so that I can see which ones were modified recently, however it applies the Date Modified option to every single folder, including my home folder.
Is there anyway to just change the View Option to a single folder at a time. For example, I'd like to have Documents by Date Modified, but my home folder (user folder) to be arranged my name so that all my folders show up alphabetically.

  • View Options Don't Stay Changed

I can change my view options just fine. But if I exit LR and return, the View Options are back to where they started prior to my changing them.
How do I make them sticky so they remain static between closing and opening LR?
    I use V1.4 and WinXP
    Thanks in advance,
    Christopher

I remember experiencing the same thing you are - it would lose track of what you were previously viewing. If I recall, it would take you back to Album view at the very top.
I just tried to reproduce the issue by clicking Songs, scrolling down and clicking a song, clicking iTunes Store, then clicking Library to go back. It took me right back to Songs and showed the song I selected, as expected.
If you aren't running iTunes 11.0.2 (26) - check iTunes > About iTunes and make sure it does NOT say (25). If it does, install build 26 overtop by downloading iTunes at itunes.com. If you are running bulid 26 and you're still experiencing this issue, let me know and I'll try to reproduce it on my machine! Then we can file a bug report and encourage Apple to fix it.
But it appears to be working as expected from my experience with build 26.

  • No view option in itunes 8

as the title say i can’t change the view option for my ipode, if i’m in the music library it works but when i highlight music under my ipod it’s greyed out, it’s also greyed out in the view option on the tool bar, anybody got a fix
i’ve tried going back to 7.7.1 but it won’t let me

    same here
under "Library", the music view can be changed just fine
and under "Devices", meaning the ipod, the music view can't be changed or even select any song as they are all grayed out
I'm sure it has always been that way, even back in my first itunes 6.xx versions

  • How do I set view options for all playlists at once?

    Hello,
I want to able to set the view options for all my playlists at once (to include BPM, category etc). Currently you can only do this individually for each playlist.
Surely there is an easier way?

    1 - No
    2 - Using iTunes, no.
However this script will do what you want .

  • How do I set the View Options in the Track Info window?

    Hi -
    Novice question here...(GB'11)
I am trying to save an Instrument after I made some changes to the Effects.
When I click "Save Instrument..." I get an alert
"The file will be hidden.  You have chosen not to show your own settings.  If you save the file now it won't show in the browser unless you change your view options in the Track Info window."
I didn't know I had chosen not to show my own settings.
I am looking at the Track Info window (both the Browse tab and the Edit tab) and I cannot see where I can change "view options".
Am I looking in the wrong place?  I really do want my new saved changes to be on that list.
    TIA you experienced input.

The answer is obviouse when you find it the pulldown menu, it is in the middle of the info panel just below the tabs, and may be showing 'Garageband', press this and you can see a number of options including 'Show all'

  • Retaining View Options in Shared Library

    FYI: i'm running Mac OS 10.7.3 & iTunes 10.5.3
i have my library on a Mac Mini in the house. i use my MacBookPro for everything. My library is too large to keep on my laptop, so when i'm home, i just pop open iTunes and select the Mac Mini's library in the SHARED section to listen to tunes.
    essentially two issues...
    1) i hated that every time i created a new playlist, i had to re-select the View Options as i wanted them to be. this was just solved by using the Assimilate View Options script that i found during my investigations. it works fine for whatever i have on my local library (which isn't much), but it does not work for anything in the shared library.
1b) sidenote issue with that: when using it on the local library, it does great with choosing all the columns that i have setup. it does not, however, deal with the column widths & order nor which view mode i want (Album List + Always Show Artwork). argh.
    2) so i continued my journey to finding the right app/plug/help/hack/whatever and ran across the Change Hidden iTunes Preferences script/app. this too works great for creating new playlists with the view options i want already in place (by checking the Changing view settings is global option). but this also only works on my local library and not the shared library views.
2b) sidenote with this one: this has the same issue as 1b above - exactly. arghx2.
NOTE: i realize i cannot actually change the view options on my shared libraries iTunes on the Mini - i just want the iTunes on my MBP to retain either the view options i want/set when using the shared library -or- have the view options that i actually have on the Mini's iTunes Library to display when viewing thru my MBP.
    does that all make sense?
    any thoughts would be appreciated.
    THANKS.

This is by design. The artwork is not sent when browsing the shared library to avoid swamping the network. Sending the artwork for every track would generate a lot of network traffic.

  • Viewing option is too small

Can anyone tell me how to change my view option? I used to be able to see tv shows, podcasts, etc in a full screen. Now everything defaults to a very small screen that displays in the center of my computer.
I have checked all menu options and preferences, but nothing changes the screen. It's like a 3x3 box to view with the rest of my large computer screen being black.

Anyone have an answer to this? I'm experiencing the same thing on my Blackbook. Oddly the same content on my Powermac is not affected.

  • Finder "View Options" malfunction

I believe this started when I updated to 10.4.6, but my "Applications" (my default "new window" in the Finder) folder always opens in column view the first time after restarting. To explain further: when you open a window and change its "view options" to "this window only" or "all windows," the background color may change, or it may tile the icons, etc. These changes should remain every time you open that particular folder henceforth.
This was always the case for me. Even after shutting down and restarting my computer, when I open a new window... bam! icon view, arranged by name, orange window background. Since updating to 10.4.6, I had to go back and manually fix all these windows. What's worse, is that every time I restart my computer, all the settings reset! The Finder opens up any window in column view, and when I switch to icon view, I have to manually select "all windows" in the view options to get it back the way it should be.
I have "open new windows in column view" UNCHECKED, and, as I said, my computer will remember these settings until I restart. I wonder if it is somehow related to this problem that I've also had since updating: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=438924&tstart=0
Thank you very much for any suggestions you might have.
    -Ryan

I'm bumping this thread because I have a very similar problem, and no one has solved it yet. I also have additional symptoms to report that might help narrow down a possible cause of the trouble.
I have two boot drives, an external third party FireWire drive and an internal SATA drive from Apple. Only the internal drive has this problem, and it behaves the same way when booting from either drive. Both drives are at 10.4.6; but I downloaded the Combo updater to install 10.4.6 on my internal drive, whereas I let the Software Update application update my external drive to 10.4.6.
    Here are the symptoms:
    • After restarting my Mac with either drive, the View Options for my internal SATA drive always revert to Icon View while the view options for my external FireWire drive remain just the way I left them — in List View.
    • Furthermore, all of the root level folders (Applications, Library, System, Users, etc.) for my internal SATA drive always revert to Icon View as well. Beyond that level (Applications/Microsoft Office 2004, for example), the View Options settings remain intact, just the way I left them.
    • In addition, the window that opens when I double click the icon for my internal SATA hard drive always returns to default position and size, rather than the position and size I last used while my external FireWire drive's window always correctly remains the size and shape it was in before restart.
    • Last but not least, when I return my internal SATA drive's setting to List View, the Application and Library folders always default to a hierarchical display of their contents (triangle pointing downward).
For what it's worth, the problem didn't rear its head immediately after I installed the 10.4.6 Combo Update. It happened at least two weeks later — after installing Toast, Jam, Peak Express, DiskWarrior, and TechTool Pro. I've since uninstalled all of those programs (using MacMagna Uninstaller), but the View Options problem remains.
To reiterate, this problem ALWAYS happens to my internal SATA drive but NEVER to my external FireWire drive, no matter which drive I boot from.
    Failed Troubleshooting:
Trashing com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.sidebarlists.plist failed to remedy the problem. This doesn't surprise me at all because my external FireWire drive and my internal SATA drive each have their own copies of those files, yet the internal SATA drive has the same symptoms when either drive boots. In other words, the problem must be system independent.
Upon reaching that conclusion, I tried zapping my G5's PRAM; but that also failed to remedy the problem.
I'm not all that familiar with the G5 architecture, but it's apparent that some settings are boot drive independent. If so, I don't know where these settings are stored. For example, when I boot from my internal SATA drive and I turn off Spotlight Indexing by dragging and dropping my drives one by one into the Privacy frame of the Spotlight window, those settings are retained when I boot from my external FireWire drive. (It's an unfortunate consequence as far as I'm concerned, but that's another topic.)
On the one hand, it seems petty to worry about this problem as it's really a minor inconvenience. On the other hand, this scenario last occurred months ago on the internal SATA drive that shipped with my Mac. Then a month ago, its operating system became corrupted and the drive developed bad blocks. I wound up replacing it under my Apple Care plan, and I'm just finishing setting up the new drive from scratch. Perhaps the two problems are unrelated; but if they're not, then I dread what lies ahead, because I just spent three weeks diagnosing and reinstalling my setup!
I hope that all of this info helps someone to help those of us who have encountered this problem. I'd also like to thank Peter Walker for his Automator script workaround (posted above). With it, I'm able to temporarily, automatically correct all of the display problems, except for the undesired window size and hierarchical display.
Thanks, in advance, for any further assistance.
    Best,
    Geoff
