EPC Usage type Query

Hi,
We already installed SAP Solution Manager 4.0 with ABAP And JAVA Stack without EP. Now We intend EP and EPC Usage Type on our Solution Manager System. Will it be possible to add EPC to our Solution Manager 4.0.
That is, EP and EPC with the same SID "SMP", we would like to know if this attracts any specific licensing cost for EPC separately.
The requirement is BI reporting with SOLMAN, which requires VC and hence EP usage type.
Any pointing will definitely be rewarded.
Also I would like to know, how much space would be required for Importing EPC.

Hi Jörg
Thanks so much for replying - just last night I solved problem. After re-deploying at a higher SP and it still not working I was resigned to the possibilty it might never be fixed - I too couldn't see how EPC could be backed out.
Then I tried it in IE7 through my VM. The context menus are there, but don't appear in Firefox 2.0.0.8 in Linux :o
Words can't begin express the mixed emotions I'm feeling after sweating so much time over this. I only wanted to explore UWL for workflow scenarios, so EPC would be sufficient. For the normal EP I will use CE 7.1 preview, but that's for later.

  • Backing out EPC usage type

First the question, and then some background to check if I've asked the right question!
How do I undeploy easily the EPC usage type I've added to my SAP on Linux TestDrive evaluation?
    Some background: I've recently deployed EPBC11.SCA, EPBC211.SCA, EPPSERV11.SCA, EPWDC11.SCA, SAPEU11.SCA and UWLJWF11.SCA.
I can logon on to the portal with http://localhost:50100/irj/portal, but can't connect to the backend because context menus "New>System from Template" and "New>System from PAR" are missing from the system landscape configuration (only "New>Folder" exists). After checking the permissions and playing around with SLD, I've concluded that note 883948 holds the answer, and that substitution variables where missing before it was deployed.
Is this analysis likely to be correct? The substitution variables are they now, but don't do any good, and neither does activating the usage type.  There's an lots of .SCAs to unpick, so 'd though I'd ask here first.
    Thanks

  • Sld started giving error after installation of additional usage type.....

    Hi Experts,
I had a BW server with dual stack (AS ABAP + AS Java only base u2013 No BI u2013 Java server). Everything was running fine and I have checked that http://server:port/nwa, http://server:port/useradmin and http://server:port/sld was browsable although I didn't configured SLD.
My BW developer team wanted to use BEX web reports and for the same I have installed following add on usage type as per note 883948 as I had only upto SPS9 as a default installation.
    u201C
    Components of EPC (UT_NAME = EPC) SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) >= SPS09 < SPS11:
    |FILE NAME |DESCRIPTION
    |EPBC*_.SCA |PORTAL CORE SERVICES 7.00
    |EPBC2*_.SCA |PORTAL FRAMEWORK 7.00
    |EPPSERV*_.SCA |PORTAL 7.00
    |EPWDC*_.SCA |PORTAL WEB DYNPRO 7.00u201D
    And
UTs of SAP NetWeaver 7.00 (2004s):
Components of BI (UT_NAME = BI):

    version>)

    |BIWDALV*_.SCA |BI WEBDYNPRO ALV 7.00
    |VCKITBI*_.SCA |VCKITBI
But after this I checked and found that browsing SLD (http://server:port/sld ) started giving erroru2026. The error says something like belowu2026.
The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

    Thanks for your valuable replies.
    Regards,

First of all... As per SAP Installation guide additional usage type BI installation is POSSIBLE.
    Please check SAP Note [883948|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=883948]
And I guess you have all the primary required components.i.e. ABAP,Java, EP, EPC ...
    Question1

    of log file SecureStoreInsert.log:

Above error is basically because of JDK and not because of BI

As per this... following could be reason.
    1. check that iaik_jce_export.jar file is NOT included into the CLASSPATH.
2.Use only one JDK version (or remove the other installed versions from the used environment variables).
    3. SAP Note [739043|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=739043]

I guess It might be difficult to UNINSTALL - may cause some inconsistencies in the current system.
Still - If you really Don't want BI now... Best option could be full restore and recovery.- If you have consistent backup.
But if you want BI - then, since above problem is because of JDK , I think it could be resolved.
    Let us know if anything....

  • How to install Additional Software Units or Usage Types in an Existing SAP

    Hi.
We have a Netweaver 7.0 EPH1 with JAVA, EP and EPC intallation, but i need install additional usage type BI JAVA and NWDI.
Copy the downloaded SCAs in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in and when execute JSPM - option Additional usage type installation,  this not show usages type .
according to the installation guide, this is the procedure.
    please help me.
    Thanks very much.
    Regards,
    Jhon Jairo

    Hi,
Once you have correctly extracted and put the files in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in, you need to run JSPM and select the option of additional usage types.
Next, select the desired stack from the inbox. Click Next.
JSPM shows the currently installed usage types and those of the new usage types in the stack, which are part of the active product on the system and all of their dependencies are fulfilled. They can have different status:

Can you tell us what is the status of the usage types visible to you? Are the new usage types having a different status or are they not completely visible at all? If that is the case, you may want to check whether the files that you have downloaded are correct or not and also check whether these are correctly extracted and placed in the right folder.

  • Usage types and installed software list

Tell me please is it the way to see what usage types are installed in system?
    Thanks,
    Olga

If you have the Java Stack in your system, you could use
    http://<host>:<http_port>/utl/UsageTypesInfo
    For example:
    http://10.1.1.198:50000/utl/UsageTypesInfo
use the user J2EE_ADMIN, and you will see the information...

  • Backing up and restoring EP 7.0 (With Usage type DI installed) on HP-UX

    Hello,
I know and saw several blogs/forums for Portal/Java WebAS 640 backup and restore and most of them says to backup Oracle and backup filesystems (/usr/sap/SID/* and /sapmnt/SID/* and ofcourse oracle).
WE have never tested our restore on our Portal system which has DI (Dev Infrastructure) installed with it, hence need to know is it just enough to backup the above files systems (and also /home/sidadm and /etc) AND then just restore the oracle backup, and above files systems and system will be up and running with all the DI developments we did?
We are about to apply our first round of Stacks on EP system (NW04s) with DI usage type, hence we want to test our restore if everything goes fine in case we have to do that.
    Our env:
EP/DI on HP UX - currently going to stack 15
    Oracle on AIX
    Your response is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    WA

we tried to just restore the Filesystem and database and without any efforts we were able to startup java.

  • Usage type issue with PI upgrade from 7.01 to 7.11

    Hi guys,
We are currently performing an upgrade on our PI system.
We are upgrading from PI 7.01 to PI 7.11 and we've come cross an issue during the prepare phase of the install.
An error has occurred during the execution of the CHECK_SUPPORTED_SOURCE_USAGES phase.
This upgrade doesn't support upgrade of sap.com/MI usage detected on the source system.
You can find more information in the log file /usr/sap/PI3/upg/java/log/CHECK_SUPPORTED_SOURCE_USAGES_SSU_01.LOG.
Use the information provided to troubleshoot the problem. An SAP Note may provide a solution to this problem. Search for SAP Notes with the following key words: com.sap.sdt.j2ee.phases.PhaseTypeCheckSupportedSourceUsages com.sap.sdt.j2ee.tools.check.NegativeResultException This upgrade doesn't support upgrade of sap.com/MI usage detected on the source system. CHECK_SUPPORTED_SOURCE_USAGES INIT PREPARE NetWeaver Upgrade SAPJup Java Upgrade
When reporting problems to SAP Support, attach the trouble ticket file /usr/sap/PI3/upg/java/log/TroubleTicket_01.txt to your message.
We've looked through the main upgrade notes and they mention which usage types are supported, but they do not mention explicity what usage are not supported, and how to proceed with the upgrade if your system does have one of these non-supported usage types.
Considering our system does contain usage type MI, does this mean that we cannot upgrade our current PI system to 7.11?
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Steph

    Hello
Please see note #1247043 Release Restrictions for EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 - section "Upgrade: source system must be a dedicated PI system".
It is not possible to upgrade an existing system with the usage type MI. Even if you delete the usage type MI (if this is possible) the upgrade will not be possible.
    Regards
    Mark

  • PI in ECC 6.0, usage type AS ABAP

    Dear all,
Is there any restriction on the functionalities of PI/XI in ECC 6.0 (with ABAP only)?
Can I have full XI functionalities if when I install ECC 6.0, I also check AS Java?
    Giang

    Hi Giang
SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - uage type PI corresponds to product version instance SAP ERP 6.0 - SAP NW - Process Integration.
PI requires AS ABAP and AS Java as prerequisites in the same system. Optionally, it can be combined with other usage types in one system.
Regarding installation with ECC on one server, see the following recommendation from the SAP ERP Master Guide, already mentioned:
"We recommend that you identify a dedicated PI system. For PI, no other system in your system landscape may have a higher release than the PI system. For exceptions to this rule, see SAP Note 1043047.  "

    Andreas R

  • Selection of usage type for EHP7 SPS02 ERP 6.0 Upgrade

    Hi Experts,
We are planning to upgrade our SAP ECC 6.0 to EHP7 SP02 ERP 6.0, But during MOPZ configuration to generate the side effect report, its prompting to choose at least one technical usage type. I am not able to judge which is the right usage type to our environment. I have checked with functional team and they said our business type is Logistics but in the list logistics not found.
Here i have attached this list of components installed in our system and list of usage types which is showing in MOPZ. Please suggest me with correct usage type to proceed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Suresh Babu

    Hi all,
I have installed a PI system with the following Usage Types
    AS ABAP

I wanted to install CMS on my system...
I went through the following link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/88/311041b59bef23e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
it gives we have three SCA files to be installed....
I tried to apply these three SCA files but there seems to be a dependencies problem
It says "Unresolved dependencies found for the following SDA's
    development component 'tc/SL/CMS/TCSEar'/'sap.com'/'MAIN_APL70VAL_C'/'1077917'
    dependency :
    name : 'tc_SL_SDM_Client'
    vendor : 'sap.com'
    Am i missing out anythng

  • Unable to Transport Querys Object (ELEM) of type 'Query' is not available in version 'A'

    Hi,
We need to transport some querys from production BW 7.3.1SP7 to synch with Dev.  I know, I know but had no choice but to created querys in PBW due to no data in DEV...
In RSA1, we collect query and get errors for every object (ckf, rkf, vars etc) and when changing dsiplay from hiearchy to list, there are no objects included under the query element.
Opened the system in SCC4 for automatic recording of changes and changes to repository and cross clinet customization allowed and changed the client role to Test.
Tried opening and resaving the query in query designer.
Query is active in table RSRREPDIR
Checked SCN and OSS have yet to find a solution
    http://scn.sap.com/thread/1758171
    http://scn.sap.com/thread/1623756
    Here are the error details
Object '4T3M5JI7050ENPG6G336XWYNK' (ELEM) of type 'Query' is not available in version 'A'
    Message no. RSO252
    Diagnosis
You wanted to generate an object with the name '4T3M5JI7050ENPG6G336XWYNK' (in transport request ELEM) of type 'Query' (TLOGO). This is, however, not available in the BW Repository database. It does not exist in the requested version A. If the version is 'D' then it is possible that an error arose during the delivery or installation. If the version is 'A' then the Object was either not created or not activated.
    System Response
The object was not taken into account in the next stage of processing.
Thank you so much for your time!
    Lee Lewis

This is an SAP BUG which is corrected by this note:
    > 1762785 - Object '!XYZ...' (ELEM) of type Query is not available.
    > 1816332 - Object 'XYZ...' (ELEM) cannot be collected (RSO296)

  • Install  ERP ECC 6.0 with EHP4 and JAVA stack (usage type)

    Hi all,
I need to install ECC with EHP4 and also JAVA stack.
I know that I have to install 2 stacks with different SID and oracle homes, firts I have to install ABAP stack and then the JAVA stack, but wich usage type should I choose for JAVA STACK?
What I would like to have in my new installation would be the same usage type for JAVA stack like ERP 6.0 SR3 ABAP+JAVA stacks.
    What should I choose?
    Regards
    Thanks

    Hello,
SAP ECC 6.0 allows ABAP and JAVA but EHP4 this feature is not.
One thing I can suggest if you install ABAP stack first, it will initiates (even different SIDu2019s) the JAVA stack also.
So JAVA stack having a protection with ABAP, because you know JAVA stack is a very sensitive and time consuming one when you want to start are stop.
So you can do this sequence

  • SAP NW 7.3 - add usage type

SAP Netweaver 7.3 AS java on RHEL 6.
    Database db2 LUW 9.7.
How would one add a usage type?
For example I install usage types:
    AS Java
    NW Product Description
    Application Server Java Extentions
    Enterprise Portal
    EP Core
Then the boss comes by and asks for
    Business Process Management
In the past I've used OSS support package download stack application
to generate a stack xml and a list of support packages,
then used JSPM option add usage type.
With SAP NW 7.3, OSS has no stack application.
I haven't seen a "add usage type" within SOLMAN MOPZ...
