EPCM event not workin in web dynpro java

I have created a visual composer application that generates a event on a button click.
When I click on this button, I would like my web dynpro application to catch this event.
Here are some details of my development:
I created a DC project with a view. On the view implementation, I have filled the wdDoInit() method liket this:
WDPortalEventing.subscribe("urn:novacap.eu", "VOIR_DOCUMENTS", wdThis.wdGetTestActionAction() );
wdThis.wdGetTestActionAction() simply update a input field with the information returned by the VC event.
On VC side, here is what I have:
Event name: VOIR_DOCUMENTS
Output signal: EPCM Event: novacap.eu:VOIR_DOCUMENTS
When I display the VC application and the Webdynpro application on the same paage, the Web dynbpro application never catch anything.
Does it have to be a web dynpro page? If it doesnu2019t matter what is wrong with my configuration. Should I be writing my code in the component controller instead of the view controller?
Any help would be really appreciated.

Hope you are doing good.
Firstly, please increase the value of SecuritySessionIdGracePeriod as per SAP Note 1464914.
We have seen cases where we've advised values as high as 10 or even 30 seconds, but the downside of a high value is that in some special cases a second request from the client in that window of time set by the SecuritySessionIdGracePeriod could cause a request to fail which requires a new authentication or has a different session identifier. This is unlikely in the small window of say 8 seconds.
Set the value to 8 seconds max as this should not cause any harm to the system and will be useful here.
It is also recommended to set the domain attribute to NONE as per SAP Note No. 1395551.
As the jsessionid cookie is used for session management when it is missing from the request headers the correct session could not be retrieved and as result new session will be created for that user.
If the issue still persists, we will need to check the httpwatch traces and detailed server node/ICM traces.

Use
The FunctionKey allows you to trigger a Web Dynpro action using a specific key on the mobile device. In the following example, this UI element is used to navigate to another view via a specific key.
Prerequisites
●     The SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio is installed on your computer, and you can use it to create your mobile Web Dynpro application
●     You have access to a SAP NetWeaver Application Server, where you are running the Web Dynpro application
●     You are using a Pocket PC with special scanning equipment manufactured by Intermec Technologies or Symbol Technologies
●     You have created two views in a Web Dynpro project and called them StartingView and TargetView.
Procedure
       1.      Navigate to the StartingView and double-click the view or choose Edit from the context menu.
       2.      Insert the mobile UI element FunctionKey.
       3.      Switch to the Plugs tab, create an outbound plug with the name fromFunctionKey and define the navigation link to the TargetView.
       4.      Switch to the Actions tab page and define an action called NavigateToAnotherView.
       5.      Assign the value IBrowse_OnKey49 to the keyCode property of the FunctionKey.
       6.      Assign the NavigateToAnotherView action to the onAction event of UI element NavigateToAnotherView.
       7.      Switch to the Implementation tab and add the following source code to the implementation of the view controller. The read data is passed to the context and the relevant context attribute is set.

Portal Eventing between Web DynPro Java iView and non-Web DynPro iView

Dear Experts,
I have 1 Web DynPro Java iView and 1 non-Web DynPro (using JSPDynPage and JSP) iView, both attached to a page. When Web DynPro Java iView fire a portal raise event, the portal iView did not execute the javascript function tied to the event subscribed.
Here is the code snippet which reside in the Web DynPro Java iView that is used to fire the event

This the code snippet that is in the jsp page

Note:
1. When Web DynPro Java iView fire the portal event the entire page is refreshed, including the non-WDP iView.
2. When EPCM is replaced with window.top.EPCM, the page is refreshed, it is totally hanged with progress bar.

Date Column not getting sorted in a table in web Dynpro Java

Hi All,
I am facing an issue while sorting the date column in a table in my web dynpro java application.
When the date is displayed in the sql format in tha table, I am able to sort the date column successfully but when we convert the date field from sql format to util format in our table and then sort it does not work.
Kindly let us know the steps to be followed in this case to sort the date column of a table in Simple Date format as we do not want date in the sql format to be displayed.

Hi,
You might want to check whether both your browser's language settings are identical. The browser language could also determine the date format.
As a workaround, you could add an extra attribute to your context, and set the calculated property to 'true'.
In your table, add a new column and bind to this new attribute, and hide your original date column
If you sort using the date column that's hidden now, you could use the calculated field to fixed-format your date the way you prefer (by using the SimpleDateFormatter class for instance)

How to configure SSO for web dynpro ABAP (not web dynpro Java)

Hi Experts,
 I am testing SSO in IDES for web dynpro ABAP (Not for web dynpro Java / not for portal). When I am entering url of web dynpro application in web browser like internet explorer, then it should ask for user id and password first time, after login whenever user would access that url, it must not ask for user ID and password (url would be access web browser in mobile). For this I select to configure single sign-on for web dynpro ABAP. I have done below works:
1). I have created a web dynpro application having url: http://susws076.sap.swk:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zadb_hello_world2
2). I run TCode SICF and access service node to "Zadb_hello_world2". Double click on it, hit change. pressed "logon data" tab, select "Alternative logon
 procedure"
 Then deleted all logon procedure other than "SSO Authentication" and saved.
3). Go to "STRUST" and create certificate, choosed "Environment==> Logon Ticket" fill the required parameters and execute. It is OK (no red traffic
 signal).
4). Execute TCode "RZ10" to change profile parameter, insert new parameter (indicated by red arrow)
After all this settings I opened a browser enter above URL and hit enter but there is an error
There is no login page. It directly showed this error page. No cookies is saving.
Can anyone tell me what all the settings/configuration other than this I have to do. And is there any wrong setting done by me?
How to set the for single sign-on?

Hi Ram,
This error comes generally when your webdynpro project does not have an application. To create an application in your webdynpro project follow the underlying steps:
<Project>->WebDynpro->Applications ---> right click and create New Application.
Follow the steps to create the application.
Now if you create archive and deploy, it will not give you the error again.

Deploying web dynpro java application successfully but not working

Hi all,
I have a web dynpro java application. When I deployed in my local portal (7.10 SP6) it is working fine. But when I deployed in another portal (7.10 SP2) it is not working totally. In system default trace I saw below exception:
Failed to create deployable object 'sap.com/a1sbicbc~unv' since it is not a Web Dynpro object.
It seems that the web dynpro application was not deployed anymore, but in deployment UI I can see the package was deployed without any errors.
In this situation, is there any other portal/java engine configuration which may prevent the web dynpro application being deployed? For example deployment or security policy, etc?
Looking forward for replies.

InteractiveForm UI Element in Web Dynpro Java - Image not displayed on form

Hello Experts,
Using: NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.0.1_06; Adobe Livecycle Designer 8.1.
I have an image "image.png" in my src/mimes/components/com.mm.InteractiveFormComp folder within my web dynpro java project.
I load the image into my context in wdDoInit method in the comp controller:
wdContext.currentContextElement().setImage("image.png");
In the interactiveform I have an ImageField on the form and have set its properties as follows:
Field - URL = http:[host]:[port]/webdynpro/dispatcher/InteractiveFormComp/src/mimes/components/com.mm.InteractiveFormComp/image.png
Field - Embed Image Data = "checked"
Binding - Default Binding = Image
However, no image ever shows up on the form. I have also been through many threads in the forums but havent found a solution. Can anyone please assist me?

Why Web services are used to send data not HTTP in Web dynpro for Java?

Is Web Dynpro for Java supports Web service , RFC as communication to other systems why http cannot be used in Wweb dynpro for java.........

Yes, Web Dynpro java supports web service, you can expose your web service as RFC Model to
communicate with others system. As per as HTTP is concern we don't have any
supportive method in web Dynpro. Insted of HTTP we use context in web dynpro to communicate.

Problems with Adobe PDF forms in Web Dynpro Java

As of now , I have two major issues in developing Adobe PDF forms in Web Dynpro Java .
1.Text getting wrapped and repeated from the first line :
Any text field that flows to the next page gets wrapped at the end of the page and is again printed on the next page beginning from the first line .
For eg:
If I have 4 lines in a text field that is at the end of the page
1111111111111111111111
2222222222222222222222
3333333333333333333333
4444444444444444444444
and the page holds space for only two lines it prints the lines
1111111111111111111111
2222222222222222222222
in the first page and then proceeds to the next page and prints
1111111111111111111111
2222222222222222222222
rather than printing
3333333333333333333333
4444444444444444444444
2.No way to hide a page at runtime:
It is not possible to hide a page in a PDF form at runtime . If scripting is used , the page turns into a blank page but not hidden .
Any pointers on this????????

The evniorment and versions you posted seems to be quite scattered, make sure all are of compatible and to the lates.
Anyways this was not the reason for your problem.
Can you tace if the button click event is triggered ....?
1) when the PDF is published can you see any of the fields editable...? reason behind is generally when you create a form in ADLC it comes up in static PDF format if its so you need to make it dynamic.
I dont know if adding the webdynpro script to your form might fix.

Problem in completing the TASK when using Web Dynpro Java and BPM

I am using Web Dynpro Java and BPM.
i see my Web Dynpro View when i run the process.
Just that the task is not completing.
when i click on the Web Dynpro button to signal the completion of the event, nothing happens.
i have appropriately created events in both Component controller and Interface Controller and used the same in creating the Task.
a method in Component controller fires the event and a button click in the view calls this method.
i have successfully completed Donka Dimitrova's "SAP Netweaver Business Process Management-End-to-End Process Implementation Sample " but when i tried my own with slight modifications, it is not working !!!

Hi Amol,
The way you described the things, I dont see any problems. Just to make sure that you are triggering the right event that you mapped as completion event for the task, try to cross check once again and see if the correct event is getting triggered. Also try to put some messages for debugging to see till where the control goes.

Hi,
You can WDHotKey property to define the different keyboard shortcuts to enable the user to trigger events with key combinations.
When the user presses the key board shortcut defined as the hotkey then onAction event is triggered.
The keys F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8 and F9 are not supported, they call predefined functions provided by the Web Dynpro Framework.

Controlling visibility of Web Dynpro Java iView in portal WDJ page

I should be able to use the WDPortalUtils interface in my Web Dynpro Java DC application to get the name of the iView in my Portal WDJ page using IWDPageService method getVisibleIViews(). My intent is to add another iView to this page and programmatically control the visibility of each iView from my WDJ application.
-> Instructions I have found through my online research indicate I should not have to specify a sharing reference because I am using the WDJ framework, but I tried it anyway. It didn't work.
-> I have added DC epbc.prtapi._api public part to my used DC's, and specified dependency at both Build time and Run time.
-> My portal page template is of type Web Dynpro Proxy Page.
-> My iView template is of type Web Dynpro Proxy iView.
-> The Page Content view of my page shows the 'visible' checkbox set for my iView.
The following statements in the wdDoInit() method of my DC's view controller should return the portal name of my iView:
IWDPageService pageService = (IWDPageService) WDPortalUtils.getService(WDPortalServiceType.PAGE_SERVICE);
String[] iViews = pageService.getVisibleIViews();
I get no compile time errors or runtime errors when I execute these statements.
BUT...
Instead of a String array, I get back a memory space pointer.
Example: [Ljava.lang.String;@664e664e

The last thing I can think of is the method is been called before the portal page has been rendered completely, which may lead to the faulty results.
Is it possible to move the getVisibleIviews() to a method which is called later in the phase (for instance, at the bottom of wdDoModify or wdDoPostProcessing) or, even better, in an onAction event handler when a button is clicked?
If this doesn't work I'm afraid I'm running out of options and i would file an OSS message with SAP
