Episode not appearing

Hi there,
I have uploaded an episode and it has not appeared. It is in Soundcloud, on Stitcher, and appears in my RSS feed.
http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/soundcloud:users:102727605/sounds.rss
I previously uploaded an the same episode, but had to delete it to edit out a sound issue. I then uploaded it on Tuesday afternoon. It has not appeared.
Can you please let me know what the issue is? There have been so many issues with iTunes and my feed that it is very discouraging. Is there a best practices guide you can link me to, so I can make sure I am doing everything correctly.
Thanks for your help.

Your Store page is at
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/whats-your-story-podcast/id895290711?mt=2
Please always post this when you have a question.
You've fallen over a long-standing and intermittent bug in the Store where it claims to be showing the correct number of items but in fact isn't showing the latest one (though it claims to be showing 3 items), although all the episodes appear when subscribing. There isn't really anything you can do about this as the problem lies with the Store, not your feed; it usually sorts itself out in a few days.

  • New episodes not appearing in iTunes

I have uploaded eight episodes total and only one is showing up in iTunes. I checked my feed on feedvalidator.org and the feed works fine. I also subscribed to the podcast and I am able to download all eight episodes but only the first episode shows up in iTunes on our podcast page. Since I am able to subscribe to the podcast and see all eight episodes I assume I am just waiting on iTunes to update my podcast page. Is that what is going on?
The podcast name is 'GQ on the law' and the website for the feed is http://gqonthelaw.podbean.com/
Any help you can offer is very much appreciated. Thanks!
    Clint

Your iTunes Store page is at
    http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/gq-on-the-law/id533007710
    and the feed is at
    http://gqonthelaw.podbean.com/feed/
(please always post these when you have a question to save detective work). The feed seems to be OK - I'm afraid it's just a question of waiting until the Steore catches up. It usually takes 1-2 days for new episodes to appear, but the Store (which caches the feeds and visits them periodically to checkfor updates) may check for feed which haven't been updated for some time less frequently - it's two months since the previous episode wasa published. It should update eventually.

  • Refreshing Mobile Itunes Podcasts (new episodes not appearing immediately)

    Hello,
Really random question. I have an ipod touch and the latest episode of some popcasts i listen to will appear on my computer however if i check the itunes store on touch via wifi they will not show the new episode. I am trying to listen the to the podcast soon after it is released.
Is there some way to get the itunes on your touch to update/ refresh the list
    or
is the mobile itunes podcast database just slower than the normal itunes store ?
Please help. Thanks in advance. Alex

  • Individual podcast episodes not appearing in iTunes but they're available to subscribers

Is there a way to resolve this problem? Just uploaded the second episode of my podcast. The podcast has an iTunes page and subscribers can download, but the individual episodes don't appear on the podcast's main page.
This is the rss link: http://spoilerpiece.libsyn.com/rss
And this is the link to the podcast in iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/spoilerpiece-theatre/id900473184?mt=2
I'm new to podcasting, so I've been reluctant to alter the feed on my own.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
    Dave

Your feed has two episodes. The latest was released only today, so it's too soon to expect to see it in the Store. The Store should be showing the first episode but though it says '1 item' it's not showing it.
You've fallen over a long-standing and intermittent bug in the Store where it claims to be showing the correct number of items but in fact either isn't showing any or isn't showing all of them, although all the episodes appear when subscribing. There isn't really anything you can do about this yourself as the problem lies with the Store, not your feed. It usually sorts itself out in a few days, but it's worth emaling Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to re-index your podcast as this may speed things up

  • Latest episode not appearing

    Hi all.
My podcast https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-recycle-bin/id734598971?mt=2 is not showing the most recent episode.
I know there are a few problems with the feed (inexperience combined with tumblr i'm afraid),  but I can't work out why the episode dated march 12 hasn't shown up yet.
    Any ideas?

    It appears for me:

  • Podcast episode not appeared

hey, does anyone know how long a new episode takes to appear once the new updated feed has been updated?
The new updated feed containing the new episode has passed the feed validator, so was just wondering that once you have the new updated feed, all you have to do is resubmit it into itunes? But itunes is saying the feed has already been submittted?
Here is the feed is anyone wants to check it out.

Am i doing anything wrong when uploading the new feed?
    thanks, Ash

Thank you for taking time out and replying to my post.
What you described and stated in your reply was the reason why its was not working.
I have spent many hours trying to get it to work and wondering why it was not,
and following your valuable instructions, i can thankfully say that the problem has been solved.
    so a massive thanks again,

  • Episodes not appearing in iTunes directory

    Hello,
I've been coming up empty handed finding a cure for my nagging issue with iTUnes directory: none of the episodes are showing up in the store listing for each of our particular feeds.
Here's a representative URL from our ten feeds we have registered in the iTUnes direcory:
    http://www.lexy.com/feed/podcast?id=467
Furthermore, I ran another test and subscribed to one of the podcasts. Within the "Podcast" window in iTunes, it will only show one episode available - despite the fact that each of our 10 feeds have multiple episodes. Does anyone have an idea as to the cause and how to cure this?
Thanks in advance for any assist.

I can't find your podcast under the title given in the feed, 'All the Chocolate'. But in any case, you have a problem with your media files. For example, the URL given for the top episode is
    http://www.lexy.com/feed/mp3/109634.mp3
and this doesn't lead to an MP3 file (indeed the file size is only 335 bytes) - click on the link above and you will see what I mean. This is true of the other two I checked, and would be sufficient to prevent the episodes appearing in the Store. If you subscribe manually from the 'Advanced' menu in iTunes it will list your episodes but give an error message that the file type cannot be played.

  • New episodes not appearing in iTunes store

Arrogant - typed this in once and lost it!
Anyway - for some reason the iTunes store hasn't updated to reflect two new podcast episodes. It seems the feed hasn't been checked by the store for over 2 weeks now. The new podcasts are there - you can find them on a computer in iTunes if you're a subscriber, but not from the store or from an iOS device.
We produce the feed on the latest version of Feeder by Reinvented software, on a Mac running Lion.
    The feed is at http://www.sundayreplay.com/iTunes/exeter-vineyard-church-messages.xml
And our iTunes store artist entry is Exeter Vineyard Church Messages
I thought maybe there was a maximum number of entries, so I removed some of the older ones from the xml feed, but that hasn't made any difference and the deleted podcasts are still showing on the store.
If anyone can shed any light on why this is happening I'd really appreciate it!
    Thanks

    I'm having the same issue.
I have had zero issues with iTunes picking up my rss feed for 60 items and now suddenly item 61 is still not being read a 6 full days after posting. (It normally shows up within hours)
I use a gooey app to generate my own feed and host it on my server
    http://www.speakeasytokyo.net/downtobusinessenglish.xml
I have checked to see if it validates and it does.
I have gone through the feed and compared it to past items in the feed and do not see anything different.
    This is my iTunes url
    http://itunes.apple.com/jp/podcast/down-to-business-english-business/id366265697 ?l=en
And this is the missing episode title:
    D2B 057 | RFID Chips
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

  • Latest episode of Podcast still not appearing in iTunes, after a 10 day wait

    Hi folks,
So far four episodes from my feedburner feed have sucessfuly been published to itunes.
But the fifth episode, published on the 24th of August has not appeared in iTunes.
    The feed is this:-
    http://3dartdirect.com/feed/podcast/
The Feed validator service (feedvalidator.org) seemed to think it was a valid feed.
As an idea, should I delete the Wordpress post and re-create it, perhaps forcing iTunes to notice the refreshed feed?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Paul Bussey

I think the problem lies in me using a Wordpress plugin called "Bulletproof Security". A similar problem was experienced by this user who also uses the blurbrry plugin:-
    http://forum.blubrry.com/index.php?topic=3688.0
The support at my hosting company also received the 403 error and recognises that iTunes may have an issue with this security plugin.
This thead may be of help to other Wordpress users who have this plugin and are experiencing similar problems.
I've asked Apple to alter the podcast feed to a feedburner address instead (since I don't have any subscribers just yet). I figure that since the feedburner feed lies outside of my selfhosted Wordpress site, there shouldn't be any security issues.
Hopefully Apple will respond a second time!
    Thanks again Roger.

  • Pinged my new podcast episode - it's not appearing

Hi - I thought I read in this forum yesterday that the podcast updating issues were now working but I have a valid feed and have pinged every day for the last few days and my new episode is not listed.
    Any ideas?
    Karen.

I also have an approved podcast that is not appearing. I keep getting a message saying "the Store is busy".
    Have you gotten any response?

  • Breaking Bad Episode 5 not appearing on Apple TV

I have purchased the season pass to the final season of Breaking Bad and the first four episodes downloaded automatically to my Apple TV. However Episode 5 does not appear on my Apple TV. When I check on my laptop it is available but I want to watch it through my Apple TV. I tried restarting Apple TV and even a complete reboot. I'm getting frustrated! Can anyone help?

figured it out imovie theatre has to be uploaded to icloud to work for some strange reason. Unlike iphoto or regular imovie which are just sent to itunes.

  • Podcast Cover Image & Recent Podcasts Not Appearing

I know this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to get the Podcast Cover Image to appear on my client's iTunes podcast page both within iTunes and on Apple's iTunes website. When I'm subscribed to it, it does show up. What am I doing wrong?
Additionally I'm having a problem with my last 3 podcasts not appearing, and I can't figure out what happened there.
Below are links to the page on Apple site and the feed I'm using, but please let me know if I need to provide more. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/living-grace-lutheran-church/id348311926?mt=2
    feed://livinggraceomaha.org/lg-sermonpodcasts.xml

Your feed is OK, except that most of your episodes do not have 'guid' tags, and your enclosure tags are missing the 'length' attribute which should show the file size in bytes. Neither of these is serious and they would not cause a problem.
The Store does go through slow patches sometimes: there have been numerous occasions when people have complained about not seeing updates for two or three weeks, and I'm afraid that you've probably just hit one of these. There isn't really anything you can do about it. You could try emailing them at podcasts 'at' apple.com, but frankly you are likely to get a form answer telling you how to add episodes (which you already know). I'm afraid that it's just a question of waiting.

  • How do i get all my 23 episodes to appear in itunes ?

How do i get all my 23 episodes to appear in itunes ? I'm only getting 20 episodes in itunes showing despitre changing the setting in Blubrry , a Wordpress plugin i use for my podcast. Any help will be appreciated thanks.
On the contrary, if i go to my podcast subscriptions, in itunes,  under podcasts, i do see all 23 episodes.

    Hi Roger
This is indeed worrying. It seems the plugin i use has feture with the following message:
WARNING: Changes made here are permanent. If the New Feed URL entered is incorrect, you will lose subscribers and will no longer be able to update your listing in the iTunes Store.
DO NOT MODIFY THIS SETTING UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
Apple recommends you maintain the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag in your feed for at least two weeks to ensure that most subscribers will receive the new New Feed URL.
The New Feed URL value below will be applied to the Main RSS2 feed (http://smallbizkaizen.com/index.php/feed).
    New Feed URL
So is this how i can redirect you think? if so i take it the new feed url is the http://smallbizkaizen.com/index.php/feed/podcast
Its worth a try so i will go ahead and do this.
If this all fails , how do i start afresh ? is there a way to delete the itunes listing ? and start with a newly named Podcast
    Thanks so much so far
    Brian

  • Podcast episodes not updating correctly in iTunes

    Hello,
I am having a problem with my podcast episodes not updating correctly in iTunes.  The last 5 episodes I published appeared in iTunes at the bottom of the episode list, as if they were old episodes--i.e., they appear as if they were the first 5 episodes published.  They also do not have a date assigned to them as the rest of the episodes do.  They were not distributed to podcast subscribers, possibly because iTunes is not recognizing them as new episodes.
Here is my podcast feed: http://ic.instantcustomer.com/instantcasts/feed/podcast/5047174b90f14efe542431c2 674b1bd9
And here is the link to my podcast in iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/small-business-marketing-minute/id896451432
The problem began with last Wednesday's episode, which was Episode 30, and has continued ever since.  I did not do anything differently when I published that episode than I did when I published the previous 29 episodes, and those updated just fine, or at least seemed to as far as I could tell (i.e., they appeared correctly on iTunes, and appeared as a new episode for me as a podcast subscriber).  Also, after examining the rss feed, I could not see any difference between episodes 1-29 and episodes 30--34, at least as far as the way the feed was formatted.  So, I have no idea what triggered the problem, and no idea how to fix it.  If I can't resolve the issue then I think I'll have to abandon the podcast, since there's no point in publishing a podcast that doesn't distribute new episodes to subscribers.
If anyone can shed light on this problem for me, it would be most appreciated.     Thanks!
    -Kevin

As you say, in the Store the latest episodes don't show a publishing date. When subscribing in iTunes, none of the episodes show a publishing date, and they are listed in the order they appear in the feed.
In the feed, none of your episodes has a 'pubDate' tag, which is where iTunes gets the date from. Since most of the episodes in the Store have a date, it looks as if originally your episodes had this tag, but that five episodes back you did something in whatever method you are using to create your feed which removed these tags: the Store is presumably getting the dates from its cache since the episodes haven't changed, but obviously doesn't have the dates for the last 5 episodes.

  • Podcast episodes not showing up in iTS

We have recently changed our URL. We were able to successfully publish episode 4 with the redirect but for some reason episode 5 never showed up. episode6 is now up and we need these to show up in the store.
    FEED URL:
    http://www.texastribune.org/feeds/podcasts/the-tribcast/
subscriptions are updating just fine. Episode 5 was updated last week. I've manually pinged the server.

Firstly, to clarify the situation with iTunes. When you submit a podcast feed URL to iTunes it caches the feed (updating it periodically) and displays the contents in the Store page. When you click 'Subscribe', the Store directs the iTunes application to the feed - this is now a direct connection and doesn't involve the Store (you could say the Store acts as an agent). The same result can be obtained by subscribing manually from the 'Advanced' menu.
It's possible to get into a situation where the iTunes application can read a feed but the Store can't - often this is caused by a redirect script which the application and browsers can understand but the Store doesn't, so when people change the feed to one using this the subscriptions will update but the Store page stays with the cached version of the old feed.
Something like this may have happened here. Your feed URL is given as
    http://www.texastribune.org/feeds/podcasts/the-tribcast/
The slash on the end of a URL usually means that what precedes it is a folder name, and that the file which is brought up is called index.html which browsers will display automatically in this situation. In your case, if one control-clicks on the URL and downloads the file you get a text file called the-tribcast.rss. This file is valid in itself -the actual XML seems to be OK - but if you open the URL in FireFox and choose 'Page Source' from the 'View' menu it displays the feed as pure text without colouring the tags (which it would normally do with an XML file).
If you open the downloaded feed in FireFox it displays the contents but warns 'This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it'.
All this means that although FireFox and the iTunes application are able to recognize the feed as a feed and parse it correctly, the iTunes Store isn't doing so. Possibly the incomplete URL is confusing it - do you have some sort of redirect in place which takes browsers to the actual file, but which the Store cannot understand? Otherwise possibly the server is telling the Store that the file is text, rather than XML, though normally in this case FeedValidator would pick this up, which it doesn't.
Whatever the cause, you now have a Catch-22 situation: the Store isn't reading your feed, and so isn't updating; and you cannot change the Store to a new feed because to do so requires it to be able to read the existing feed.
Unless you can modify the feed or the way the server presents it without affecting the URL which the Store is looking for you have two not very satisfactory options:
    1. You can abandon this feed, and submit a completely new feed to the Store. You will need to change the name of the podcast slightly or you will be told it already exists. If you do this you should make sure that the feed URL is a complete one including the actual filename. It's probably better to use the extension .xml rather than .rss (although the latter should work).
    2. You can get the Store to remove the feed and then resubmit with the same title. (You should still use a new and complete feed URL). The removal process is detailed here:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html#removing
Expect the process to take some days. A previous poster with a similar problem was initially told just to use the 'block' tag but this is no good to you as iTunes isn't reading the feed, but he did eventually get a manual removal and if you don't you will need to pursue it.
