I believe some have had success with the install and others have had issues.
It is not officially supported for a epm server install, only client, as 11.1.2 can be very fussy when it comes to installing personally I would choose to stick with a supported OS.

EPM 11.1.2.0 Re install

Hi,
I had a EPM 11.1.2.0 instance running which stopped working when i tried to uninstall web analysis component. After this I was not able to uninstall this installation completely, so I tried manually cleaning the registry and re installed a fresh copy which I uninstalled along with OHS and Weblogic later cleaned registry, environment variables and tried reinstalling. It reinstalled successfully but when I go on to configure it shows Foundation services as grayed out in configuration task panel, meaning that it can still detect previous installation. Can anyone please guide me with steps for complete removal?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I had gone through the document you mentioned and followed it, except I was not able to delete some registry entries(Like "LEGACY_HYPERION_INTEGRATION_SERVICES) as it was not allowing me to do so. However i will go over it again and confirm if I missed any steps.
I have recreated relational DB's but i havent reached the screen where i can configure as it errors out giving Registry initialization error

OpenLDAP missing after EPM 11.1.1.4 fresh install on Oracle Linux 5.8 32bit

I try install Oracle EPM Foundation 11.1.1.4 on Oracle Linux 5.8 32Bits.
No error with installTool.sh but the openLDP directory missing in $HYPERION_HOME/product/Foundation
I have found the openLDAP files after extrac from productCommonComponents/assembly.dat
some can help me ?

Error While Installing EMP ADD IN BIG VOL

During the installation process of EPM ADD IN FOR BIG VOL SP 18 Patch 1 ( Server: BPC 10 MS SP 13 ) a dos prompt appears with a lots of errors . Those errors are about load of
asembly "BusinessObjects.DSWS.Session, Version=14.0.2000.0 , Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304 ' see below image

Hi Samuele,
It always does that even in lower version of SP but epm add-in works fine after install. You just want to make sure SP18 patch1 is not only epm add-in installed you need to install base SP 18 then install SP18 patch1

The following are the sequences of steps carried out during the Installation and Configuration of EPM:
1)     Installed the Server along with its respective SP2 – Shutdown the machine
2)     Assigned IP and DNS addresses
3)     Installed Window components by ticking Application Server Console, Enable COM+ access, IIS and DNS
4)     Run “dcpromo” to create a Domain Controller with default values and assigned a domain name – Shutdown the machine
5)     Installed Weblogic Server 9.2 and configure it using Configuration Wizard – Selected “test environment” and ticked default “listening port” – Shutdown the machine
6)     Basic installation of Oracle Database 10gR2 using Step-by-Step guide provided by Oracle and carried out Password Management steps. After installation, I then created a user “oracle” and assigned it to ora_dba User Group with the required Local Security Policies – “log on as a batch job” and “Act as part of operating system”
7)     Logged into database and acknowledge the licensing window – Shutdown the machine
8)     Restarted the machine and checked all relevant and newly installed Database and WebLogic services are running.
9)     Started Installing EPM components by double clicking “InstallTool.cmd” and selected all relevant components at ONCE as per Installation Guide – Result: - All selected EPM components were successfully installed without errors or exceptions
10)     At the end of installation window, I carried out the configuration in the following scearios:
Scenario 1: Configuration all at Default settings
Scenario 2: Configuration all, except “Application Server” I selected the WebLogic9.2
Scenario 3: Configuration all, except “Application Server” and “Workspace Web Server” were being Welogic9.2 and IIS HTTP
RESULT: After all numerous installations, all came down to ONE ERROR from “Diagnostic Report” stating the following:

I then simply ignored this error and tried to deploy an Application, all worked fine until you get to the point at “Job Console” where you need to press “Refresh” button. This is, I believe preventing me from deploying Consolidation Apps, including Sample Application provided with EPM Downloads. I have tried installing and configuring by components. All failed with the same outcome.
I have been working on this effortlessly in different combinations to get at least one Financial Management Application get deployed so I could enhance my learning adventure. As it stands, I am not sure where to get help and completely lost in the World of Oracle. I am also come to wonder whether “Free Downloads of EPM” are indeed, is “complete and is in working-state” or do I need a licence to use for personal learning experience? Are there different downloads for different needs or/users For example, eDelivery downloads are different from OTN Agreement downloads?
I have downloaded the files from following URL:

I am completely lost and all services are up and running and not sure what I am missing!! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I am having exactly the same problem using Windows 2003 Standard editions SP2. Is there anyone who knows a possible solution for this? The effect on HFM is that is not possible to create an application, since I always get an error that says "Server execution failed"

i've downloaded and extracted all files on edelivery.oracle.com sections Oracle EPM (11.1.2.0.0) Media Pack for Linux x86-64.
1st symptoms : i've installed it all, at the first attempt, Oracle HTTP Server always failed to install. But on the 2nd try it succeeded (install only oracle http server), so i assumed all part already installed well.
2nd symptoms : after installation, there is config button on the GUI, but after i click it, it only closed the GUI, and nothing happen. So i running configtool.sh from config directories. and it show the error.
For user account, already have full access to relevant directories.
I checked on every logs folder on hyperion home, there is no related logs for this installation. any idea where the install log is?
I can't find "oracle_common" folder, i think this is the root cause, because the error logs referring to jar files from this folder

EPM Configurator won't launch on Windows 7

When I attempt to launch EPM System Configurator on Windows 7 I am getting the following message via command window.
'"C:\Users\Mike\set_hyphome_1.bat"' is not recognized as an internal or external
command,
operable program or batch file.
"JRE or JDK Not Found. Exiting"
"JAVA_HOME is not set"
"Exiting"
I am following Tim Tow's Blog and it says the following:
At this point, I pressed the Configure button to launch the EPM System Configurator and nothing happened. I also tried starting from the Windows Start Menu (Start Menu, All Programs, Oracle EPM System, Foundation Services, EPM System Configurator) and again, nothing happened. After some investigation, including a look at the batch files that launch the Configurator and an attempt to launch from the command line, it was determined the setJavaRuntime.bat was not setting the JAVA_HOME properly. A quick check of the %HYPERION_HOME%\common showed that it did not have a JRE directory.
This is the first major issue installing on Windows 7. To work around the issue, copy a version of the JRE from a working Hyperion install. I checked another 11.1.1.3 machine we have running in the office and it had the JRE version 1.5.0_12 installed. I copied the JRE directory from that machine onto my new Windows 7 machine.
Where can I get a copy of the JRE directory?

I have a rather peculiar problem. I don't have access to another PC where epm 11.1.1.3 is installed. Therefore, I do not have a source to copy that JRE folder from.

EPM System Configurator Error

Hi,
I am trying to open EPM System Configurator but getting error:
"The Vital Product Data registry is in use by another installer. Please start this installer after the other installtion is complete."
I am not installing the EPM system. It is already installed. I am just trying to open EPM System Configurator by Start--All Programs--EPM System--Foundation Services-- Start EPM System Configurator
I am not running any othe installer. I tried restarting the system also but again I am getting the same error.
Please help me with this error.

EPM11 Impossible to install and make run properly

Hi all,
I have made several attempts to install EPM11 on my box (XP, 4GB RAM)
After every unsuccessfull try I have uninstalled all components and deleted the entire Hyperion directory. Rebooted then the maschine.
There are a lot of not understandable issues that I found:
1. No Sample Apps has been installed except one with a strange name ($..). Sample Apps has been allways installed in older version - so only this seems to be a bug.
2. Finally in my latest attempt (after rebooting when the hss has been installed and confirured) I was able to register essbase to hss. In all priviously attemts (without reboot) allready this failed.
3. No Excel-Add-On is aviable after installation. And when I register it out from Excel nevertheless nothing happens when I try the connect menue.
4. When I'm in hss-Console and go to the Essbase-Server-Prohekt then my DB (Oracle11gR1) trurns hight up to 50% of proseccor. Afterwards it is impossible to something else with EPM.
5. Essbase Visual Explorer brings me an: Error initializing the Esbase API (Errorcode 1030725)
Question:
Has anyone ever been able to install the EPM11 in combination with a Oracle11gR1 Repossitory successfully.
Should not everything goes better with the new installer ?
Actuelly it seems more to be in a mess.
I'm really a bit despaired and helpless.

Sir/Ma'am, If you're going to install the entire EPM 11.1.1 (Client tier, Web Tier, Service tier), I suggest you use Windows Server 2003 or the likes. Never use a 32 bit OS like XP.
If you only want to install the client tier, then you won't have any problems with Windows XP.
Also, make sure that you install IIS 6.0 or higher on your Windows Server 2003 for EPM 11.1.1 to be installed successfully.

I am trying to integrate EPM with work space and failing. Initally i tested without copying the file and got reg.proerties file not found in ......\9.5.0.0. Then, I cipied reg.properties file in the appropriate folder ....\9.5.0.0 and tried to register and I am getting the following error.

I configured the OBIEE with EPM Workspace Connection settings where both Hyperion Workspace and OBIEE are installed in single windows server and it registered with Workspace successfully. I know the 'Source File Path' as "C:\Hyperion\common\config\9.5.0.0\reg.properties", if both Hyperion workspace and OBIEE installed on the same box
However I have Hyperion and OBIEE installed on 2 different boxes, so what is the 'Source File Path' value (how to call Hyperion Server path reg.properties) to be entered in OBIEE->Administration->Manage EPM Workspace Connection screen where OBIEE installed and running.
appreciate if anyone provide pointer to the value to entered in the 'Source File Path' field.

Installing Oracle HTTP Server after installation and configuration.

Hello,
I am using EPM 11.1.2.2 and I have installed Essbase, FR, EAS and EIS but not Oracle HTTP server component.
Is it possible to install it after completion of deployment of whole Hyperion components?
If I install only HTTP component of foundation service and reconfigure Web server will that work without an issue?
Or do I need to reinstall all components?
And, as in EPM 11.1.2.2 for installing Essbase only, Oracle HTTP server is not mandatory, can I skip that component?
Will that make any impact in future?

You can install OHS after you have completed the configuration, install, then configure web server and select OHS.
It is up to you whether you install and use OHS as the web server, it is not mandatory. If you are using workspace then you will need to configure one of the available web servers.

User home have to exist for successful installation.

which I presume is because IPv6 is enabled on the server.
When I check the status of the server in Oracle Weblogic Administration Console, I see the status as Shutdown, however the service is up and running and I am able to work on it.
Doubt:
Can I disable IPv6 on the servers, such that it doesn't disturb the current configuration?
Will there be any extra need to configure EPM system after disabling the IPv6?

If you want to disable IPv6 then you can but make sure you bring down Hyperion, completely remove IPv6 and then reboot.
From the log you posted it looks it is trying to bind to a tunnel adaptor or 6to4 adaptor, if you run an ipconfig /all you should see what it is binding to.

Cannot open "Dimension Library" - EPM issue?

I recently downloaded and installed/configured Planning 9.3.1 from eDelivery, but I'm not sure if ALL the required EPM Architect components have been properly installed. When I look at Windows Services, I see the following:
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Engineer Manager
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Event Manager
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Job Manager
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Process Manager
However, I do not see:
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Data Synchronization ATS5, and
Hyperion S9 EPM Architect Web ATS5
Planning is working correctly in every way, except when I try to open "Dimension Library" or "Application Library" , I get an error saying - "Invalid or could not find module configuration". I get the feeling that this error is being thrown because EPM Architect was either not installed fully or I have not configured it to work correctly. During the installation of Planning I had selected the "Typical" installation.sFyi- I have Essbase 9.3.1 underlying my Planning module.
Would appreciate any guidance on why my EPM Architect is not getting installed properly.

Hi,
These services should be created when you configure EPMA, they are created as part of the "Deploy to Application Server"
If you run the configuration utility again, Select Oracle Hyperion EPMA.
make sure you have run
Register with Shared Services
Configure Database
Select "Deploy to Application Server"
Make sure deploy as a service is ticked in the option screen.
If you do all that and the services are not there but you can start the servers manually, if you are using tomcat there a couple of scripts to create the services in \Hyperion\deployments\Tomcat5\bin - installServiceEPMADataSynchronizer.bat + installServiceEPMAWebTier.bat

EPM system stop

Gurus,
I have questions regarding properly stopping EPM system. Here is the scenario:
We have two servers: one has the Oracle and Essbase DB, and the other has the applications. We are planning on installing Microsoft patches on the servers so we need to stop the EPM system so that we can install the patches.
My questions are:
Since we have two servers, one DB and other application, is there a rule regarding which one we need to stop first? OR can we stop whichever we want to?
Other question is, in stopping the DB server, what would be the logical way of stopping. Oracle DB first and then the EPM system? OR it does not matter?
Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you are on V9 or later, You should be stopping EPM services in order to make sure nothing gets 'effected'. Usually the guys who install EPM software create batch files to stop and start all services in order. If you don't have the script, your should atleast stop EPM services before turning your DB off.
