EPM 11.1.2.1 (new version) hardware requirements

We are looking to build a development environment that would be running Planning, Workspace, ESSBase and SQL. We already have one server that is running all of these components, the server specs on that box are:
2 x Xeon E5540 / 2.53 GHz - RAM 8 GB, with an additional 4 GB of RAM and 2 x 72 GB SAS 10k HD and 2 x 146 GB SAS 15K HD
We would like to plan for the future and would like this system to be able to support the version of EPM that is set to come out later on this year. I can't seem to find any hardware specs for that version, so I was hoping you guys could confirm if the specs laid out above would be sufficient or if we should look to build a beefier server? The dev environment would only be for around 10-15 users.

Please look at the standard deployment guides which you can find in the BI Foundation Resource library:

Depending on number of users, how you use the system, and product sets the install guide requirements can be a little light especially on ram.
For a small all in one server I recommend at least 16 GB of ram for a development machine and at least 24 GB for more of a production machine. You should realize putting everything all on one machine limits your future growth.

VL10 A - Data type "LIKPVB" was found in a newer version than required

hi Gurus!
in transaction VL10A i get a short dump that states that the data type LIKPVB was reloaded and but in a newer version than required in program RVV50R10C.
I checked the abap dictionary for the data type and it said that it was modified a month ago by SAP.
To my knowledge no new configuration or notes ware applied around this period.
The solution that the dump indicates is really wise "try to restart the program".
I searched for sap notes that would apply or sdn posts and came up empty.
Please help !

How to install new version of jvm in Oracle?

We are using Oracle 9i which is internally using jvm ver 1.2.2. It has a bug 'ByteCode Verifier', so we need to replace the jvm's ver with 1.2.2_011. Can someone help me figuring out how we can uninstall the old version of jvm and install the new version as required in the database.(jvm being used for java stored procedures)

As far as I know, you cannot download Safari and reinstall it successfully. Install Safari from your software install DVD and then run software update.
I do not use Hotmail, so I have no information about that platform.

Does anyone know when Oracle is likely to release a newer version of EPM. I mean the version that comes after the 11.1.2

The next version of 11.1.2 which supports migrations is supposedly being released around the November timeframe.

I have the latest version of Pages installed, yet there are documents I try to open and the message "you need a newer version of Pages to open this document". Help?

Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.2 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5.2 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Here is a copy of the error message. Every Time I listen to a song and it end and I go to listen to a new song the Itunes Freeze up. This is on the New Version of Itunes. I have a Windows 7 32bit 3GB Ram 1TB harddrrive Space

There certainly is a problem with itunes. I downloaded 9.2 and now it won't open. It won't recognize my iphone, either. I uninstalled it in the order recommended by the site, no joy. Deleted a configuration file, no joy. System Restore, no joy. All other software and hardware on the machine is working fine. I call AppleCare AND a local store, either they are completely clueless (which I doubt), or they have no idea how to fix it. I can't even back up my phone, or use the ipod. And since no one at Apple seems to care enough, I'll have to wait until the clamor is loud enough for them to even admit to a problem before I can use the ipod again.

As of Firefox 4.0 and newer one needs at least OSX 10.5+ and Intel hardware.
The latest you can use on your Intel with OSX 10.4.11 is Firefox 3.6.25 (released recently) which can be found at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
If you were to update to say OSX 10.5.8 then you can use Firefox 9.0.1

I downloaded the new version of iTunes and now it will not open.

I opened my iTunes a day ago, and the "Download new version" came up.
I went and downloaded it and ever since iTunes will not open no matter what, I have tryed many ways to open it and it still wont open.
When I go to log off, shutdown, or restart my computer, it will not. I can only shut it down and I have to do it maunally. But if I wait around for it to shutdown, ect. a "Ending Program" annoucement comes up and has the iTunes icon, but for the name of the progrom it is only a bunch of little and big boxes.
I do not know what to do, I have unistalled iTunes and Quicktime, then installed it again and still nothing. I even tryed to do the "Repair" that comes up when you already have it installed and still nothing.
Can anyone help me? Or does anyone else have this problem?

You might be able to resolve these conflicts by disabling some items using the System Configuration Utility (MSCONFIG) in Windows XP. This utility is not included with Windows 2000.
Important: Disabling third-party System Services and Startup Items can prevent some software or OEM hardware on your computer from working correctly. For example, this can affect the CD/DVD control buttons on portable computers.
1. On the Start menu, click Run. A Run window (command prompt) appears.
2. Type msconfig in the Open field and click OK. The System Configuration Utility opens.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Select the "Selective Startup" option.
5. Deselect the "Load Startup Items" checkbox.
6. Click the Startup tab.
7. Select the "iTunesHelper" and "qttask" checkboxes in the list.

now...it worked for me, and after i got iTunes to work i went back on the msconfig and i enabled all of the third party system services and start-up items so that all of my stuff worked again. read the dirctions carefully and thoroughly before using these directions. i was being helped by a professional and i am not taking responsibility if anyone does antyhing bad to their computer. my advice is you should set a system restore point before making all these changes.hope it works for ya guys!!!

After updates to Pages and several other applications I received an update to Mavericks 10.9, all of which were downloaded and uploaded to my MacBook Pro. After the uploads I created a document in Pages which I saved to my folder. Now when I try to open it I get a message that says I need the latest version of Pages to open this document. What do I need to do to reload the last update to Pages so I can open my document?

Some files in "DOCUMENTS" icon in dock won't open. Get msg saying You need a newer version of Pages to open this document." Have Pages 4.1 installed. Same files will open ok from Finder, Pages App. Recently sync'd with ipad2 (Pages) after iOS5 installed.
