EPM 11 in linux

Hi,
Can you please let me know if I can download EPM 11.1.2.2 Media Pack for Linux x86-64 in local windows desktop and do the necessary extraction of installation files ( ie., unzip part1,2,3.,etc) in working directory and finally move the extracted folder to Linux server for installation.
Please let me know will there be any issues in installation in Linux env because the files are extracted in windows.

You can extract on windows, you could create a samba share and then access the files though it is pretty easy to unzip the files in linux.

I think Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.0 – 5.0.x is the only one supported.

EPM install on Linux

EPM 11.1.2.3 install fails...I can't
it fails with this message...
Checking for libstdc++-4.4.4-13.el6-i686; Not found. Failed <<<<
I downloaded this file and installed it,,
libstdc++-4.4.4-13.el6.i686.rpm
...but this file has a ".i686" not a "-i686"
....anyone have a similar problem?

Installing libstdc++-4.4.4-13.el6.i686 should get you past that failure.

Hi, I am trying to install Oracle EPM 11 on linux machine and I obtain a error when I configure Shared Services repository. The error log say:

I am using Oracle Enterprise Linux 5, Oracle Database 11g, and default application server.
My machine have Intel dual core processor, 2 gb ram, 50 GB availables on Oracle EPM installation partition.

i have sucessfully installed essbase server howerver when i am trying to configure it says Jar files are missing. I have uninstalled and installed it again twice but not luck, getting the same error. Below are my installation and config steps. Kindly help me in this.

EPM with fusion controller

Hi i am new at EPM installation. I want to use fusion middleware to control my services and servers. Do i have to install fusion middleware first and than install EPM or fusion middleware is installed with EPM and i have to start its service or something like that. please ignore my lack of knowledge and guide me in the right path.

Once you install EPM you can either start EPM services using Services Panel in windows or using the batch files that are installed with EPM.
For Linux OS you will have to use shell script files to start EPM services(installed with EPM)
You can use console as well to start and stop the EPM Services

Oracle Hyperion EPM 11.1.2 Installation on Linux Server Issue

Hi All,
We were downloaded and extracted all zip files (placed in opt/hyperion) from edelivery.oracle.com on LINUX 64 - Server.Before start the installation created new user and assigned to particular group.We are unable to point out the new location for installation, and tried in both GUI and silent installation. In GUI mode the "Browse" option is not highlighted for selecting a new location. It is giving default location eg: some other directory opt/epm.
After finally we found some one already installed EPM 11.1.2 partially in some other directory. But Users are different and Groups (the both users) are same for this installation.
The following error occurred "An existing Middle ware location has been detected .The default location is /opt/epm ".Even we are not able to change the location.
My issue is why it is pointing to older location after deleting all related hyperion folders in /opt/epm.But Seems OraInventory folder files and some files pointing to older location.(We haven't clean that folders).Can i delete those folders as well?
Any inputs would be really appreciated.

i've downloaded and extracted all files on edelivery.oracle.com sections Oracle EPM (11.1.2.0.0) Media Pack for Linux x86-64.
1st symptoms : i've installed it all, at the first attempt, Oracle HTTP Server always failed to install. But on the 2nd try it succeeded (install only oracle http server), so i assumed all part already installed well.
2nd symptoms : after installation, there is config button on the GUI, but after i click it, it only closed the GUI, and nothing happen. So i running configtool.sh from config directories. and it show the error.
For user account, already have full access to relevant directories.
I checked on every logs folder on hyperion home, there is no related logs for this installation. any idea where the install log is?
I can't find "oracle_common" folder, i think this is the root cause, because the error logs referring to jar files from this folder

I am newbie in infrastructure Hyperion, I'm installing ODI EPM 11.1.2.2 and 11.1.1.6 on Linux redhat 6.3. But I'm having trouble with deployment tools and can not even begin installing ODI, because as below error OS does not meet the prerequisites.
Not'm quite understand the matrix compatibility. it does not report incompatibility with this version. Could you help me?

No error with installTool.sh but the openLDP directory missing in $HYPERION_HOME/product/Foundation
I have found the openLDAP files after extrac from productCommonComponents/assembly.dat

The best LINUX for OBIEE, ODI, EPM (Hyperion)

@rnm, It's just a question of training.
As beginner when I compare an OBIEE installation between Windows and Linux, I still like the simplicity fo Windows.
I'm not in the step, the more I use it, the more I like it.
I face some issues with OBIEE that I find on Linux but not on Windows. Specifically, If you take OC4J.
For instance with BIP, in the last version, just start a big work and the OC4J process take all the CPU. Sure, I miss a configuration...

Error in Linux EPM 11.1.2.4 configuration

Hi Guys,
I am getting error at the time of configuration of EPM11124 on page (Planning - Configure RMI server) which is mentioned below:
EPMCFG-10929 The RMI port entered is not available. Enter another port value.
it is showing RMI port 11333, it's a fresh installation and configuration.I guess, i have revisited this page so this may be a cause of port unavailability?
When i am running command netstat -tuplen to check the status of this port it is showing

Guys suggest what i need to do to encounter this error.

It is possible that other EPM services are also in running mode on your server so please check if you have EPM services in running mode before rebooting server.
You can run Stop.sh script under <epm_oracle_instance>/bin to stop all the EPM services that are in running mode.
after running this script you can launch configtool.sh and check if you can proceed with configuration..

For Essbase start up purpose we have ./startEssbase.sh command is available in Linux Environment.
What about to shutdown the Essbase server command in linux env or any other procedure.
I am here trying ESSCMD command through cmd prompt.

You can write customized Maxl script stopEsb.msh as
login $1 identified by $2 on $3 ;
alter system shutdown ;
exit ;
And call the script in a shell script as
essmsh stopEssbase.msh $Uid $PWD $ServerIP

Along those lines... Are there any other clients that involve windows(non-server)? like FR studio? I don't have Financial reporting configured but as part of the upgrade will attempt to configure it.
Also regarding maintenance release: Is it using the regular EPM installer with a choice to perform a maintenance upgrade? or does support provide something special?

looks like problem with install shield. does nayone knows a workaround.
