EPM Distribution on BPC 10

Hi,
we're facing performance issues about files distribution on BPC 10 NW.
These files distribution happened during the night.
We would like to investigate on process batch/dialogs consumption and adapt if needed.
Where can I see how many processes were used during night and at what intensity ? (t-code, ...)
On SM50 and SM66, I only see live process batches and dialog .
Maybe we are wrong and should investigate on other resources ...?

Hello,
C# reporting would be completely different from BPC reports. ( C# would based on code and some inbuilt controls which Microsoft provides)
First try for simple reports, also focus on the new EPM functions, this guide would be a starting point

Other important reports would be balance sheet, P&L, Cash Flow, reports and input forms for head count planning, capex, opex etc.
You can take one at a time.

Advanced EPM Formatting for BPC v10

I have a report that utilizes an EPM Formatting Sheet and am having a formatting issue.
The account dimension is in the row axis (column A) and time in the column axis. I have also pulled in an account property (that is nothing more than a text descriptor) in Column B.
Each row is being formatted using an account dimension property (Format1, Format2, Format3, etc). So the row axis has the priority in terms of formatting vs the column axis.
For the row formatting I have the "Data" format to be aligned right to left (since these are the amounts) and the "Header" aligned left to right since these are the account ID numbers/descriptions.
The issue I have is it appears that the account dimension property in Column B is controlled by the "Data" format column so all of the text is aligned to the right making the report look quite ugly. How do you format the account property in column B to be aligned in the same manner as the Account Dimension itself (column A)?

Are you describing what I have done already?
Or do you mean add each and every actual Account Member ID? This is not realistically feasible because I have 800+ account members. I also want the ability to control the member formatting centrally in one location (Account Dimension Table). This is why I have set up the Account Dimension Property for formatting.

Dimension property in Distribution List - BPC 7.0

In BPC v7.0 MS, I would like to select members with an dimension property in Publishing range.
For example, with ACCOUNT dimension, I use the range : "ACCTYPE=EXP"

A Simple Answer is yes,
I have used SQL query to mbrAccount table.
Select * form mbrAccount where ACCTYPE ='exp'
If you need to get the data out some other way then please explain what is your need and how are you planning to use the data.

EPM V10 issue : Install conflict between PCM 10 & BPC 10

Our team is working on a prototype of EPM 10 solution (BPC 10 & PCM 10). We have met 2 conflicts between BPC 10 and PCM 10 at client side (Excel & Internet Explorer):
1. There are 2 separate EPM Add-in for Microsoft Office (Excel). One for BPC and another for PCM. We should install EPM Add-in PCM at first, otherwise we can't install it after BPC. Obviously EPM Add-in for PCM is a previous version refering to that of BPC.
But after installation of EPM Add-in PCM then BPC, we lost the "Data Manager" tab in Excel ribbon.
2. After installation PCM 10, we canu2019t access BPC via Internet Explorer any more. IE shows u201CAdd-on can not work u2026u201D. But we can open BPC Web client via Chrome. Is there any conflict of the ActiveX between PCM & BPC for IE ?

Maybe I don't understand your description of the problem clearly, but I want to state that there is intended to be only 1 EPM 10.0 add-in for Excel which works with both BPC and PCM.
Also since both the products you mention are in Ramp-Up currently, feel free to reach out to your customers ramp-up coach(es) to assist further.

BPC MS EPM SP 17 Patch 2 Local member returns #DIV/0! error

All,
I am working with EPM MS for BPC and All of my local formula works.
But some times when there is no value in the forecast or budget, the rows come back with #DIV/0! error.
The problem is #DIV/0! in the report.
What I have Done
The formula I am using is
=EPMTUPLE([TIME].[H1].[2014.Q1];[CATEGORY].[H1].[BUDGET])/EPMTUPLE([TIME].[H1].[2014.Q1];[CATEGORY].[H1].[ACTUAL])/100
It Should be
I tried using IF and ISERROR formula like below and it dose not work.
=IF(ISERROR(EPMTUPLE([TIME].[H1].[2014.Q1];[CATEGORY].[H1].[BUDGET])/EPMTUPLE([TIME].[H1].[2014.Q1];[CATEGORY].[H1].[ACTUAL])/100),"",EPMTUPLE([TIME].[H1].[2014.Q1];[CATEGORY].[H1].[BUDGET])/EPMTUPLE([TIME].[H1].[2014.Q1];[CATEGORY].[H1].[ACTUAL])/100)
Anyone came across this problem and how did you solved it? I do not want to use local excel formulas as it is not an option to what I am trying to do.

Thank you for your response, The EPM and Excel function does not seem to work together.
The basic Excel function would work however that is not an option in my case, I have to use EPM function as EXCEL function local member static with location formula.
If there is a way to make excel function dynamic please advise.
I tried every which way including your suggestion, It is odd that EPM function gives EXCEL errors or has no options to turn them off.
I was hoping there is a way to use EPM and not return any errors.

EPM Connector with Business Objects 4.0

Hi experts,
Has anyone been able to install the EPM connector on BPC MS7.5 to use with Business Objects 4.0?
The instructions in the BPC manuals all seem to refer to Business Objects XI and don't work for us. I was not able to find any updated documentation.

Offline Distribution naming of reports

Hi All,
When using distribution in BPC the naming of the distributed reports is done by settings in the Distribution List.
Standard the following report-name is created:
User ID)VARYKEYS)Description.xls - for example vbeumer)C0001)BALANCE.xls
Is there a way to adjust this output?
We need the files to be like this:
Description-VARYKEYS - For Example BALANCE-C0001.xls

as far as I know you get a development licence for the CR runtime (eg. together with Visual Studio or Eclipse) but when you rollout your code then you have to acquire viewing licences for your end-users. I would suggest to contact your local SAP Sales representative for this.

Default Report run error in BPC

Hi BPC gurus,
I am new to this space and I am totally unaware of how to tackle the issue. Your help is greatly appreciated.
We have SAP BPC for MS installed on a single machine.It is SAP BPC 10 SP11.
Everything was working fine till last evening but today we are continuously getting the following error - The issue is this error is extremely generic.

SAP BPC MS 7.5 with Extended Analytic Analyzer and EPM connector

Hi experts,
I need your inputs regarding Extended Analytic Analyzer add ins.
I installed the SAP Business Object Extended Analytic Analyzer hoping to integrate the Xcelsius in SAP BPC MS 7.5
I am following the HTG to integrate but got lost.
In EPM connector steps, I cannot find the option from OPERATION TYPE: Retrieve data using Analyzer Report.
The only options available under operation type are
EPM Report
Retrieve Environments
Retrieve Models
Retrieve Dimensions
Retrieve Dimension Members
Input Data
Retrieve Business Process Flows
Retrieve Context
Retrieve Members Property Values
RetrieveText From Library
It doesn't include the option Retrieve data using Analyzer Report.
Im wondering if there are different version of the epm connector? Was my EPM connector differs from the HTG?
And also in Excel under Extended Analytic Analyzer, the function =GETREPORTDEFINITION() is missing

It seems a very good oportunity to use FIM.
FIM was designed especially for exchange data betweeen different SAP product.
FIM will provide an easy way to do the conversion using wizards and also will assure you about data inetgrity and quality.
This will be the way forward but more details has to be define during the implementation.

SAP BPC 7.5 to EPM 10.0 migration

Dear Experts,
We are about to migrate our BPC application from Version 7.5 sp5 to EPM 10.0 as a part of a server upgrade.
Presently we have taken a backup of the AppSets (1 planning and 1 consolidation application- no scheduled loads, no master data update- a very humble and simple BPC with countable number of reports and input schedules) from our older system using UJBR.
Will the restore program (UJBR) handle the Appset restore into EPM 10.0.
I wanted to make sure if all the important points are touched before we give a go-ahead to bring our primitive server down.
I read in SDN that EvDRE reports wont function and there might be a probable MS Excel EPM 10.0 addin conflict. Other than this is there anything we should be aware of before hand viz., components to be backed up, pathces to be installed, etc.
I want to make sure we have a really smooth migration process. Your guidance is much appreciated.

**In BPC10 you can use same UJBR to restore appset from back up file.
**From BPC10 SP04 onwards EvDre is also supporting.

It depends on what sort of data you are going to retract. The easiest process is find the required BAPI which is going to load the data to ECC system through a RFC connection.
Once you know the BAPI, you just have to call it inside the BPC BADI ( like UJD_RETRACT or UJ_CUSTOM_LOGIC).

BPC 10.0 MS : Download EPM Add-In.exe

I am installing BPC 10.0 MS, following the installation guide.
Now I have reached step 4.2 "Installing the EPM-Add-In". The installation guide says "download the most recent version of the full setup (EPM Add-in.exe) from the service marketplace".
When I am accessing the marketplace at service.sap.com/installations, I can find plenty of software downloads (both under "installation and Upgrades"->"A-Z Index"->... and under "business objects downloads"->"A-Z Index"-> ), but even when using the search function, I am not able to find the mentioned EPM Add-in exe download. Can somebody please tell me how to click through the different menus to get to the necessary download for SAP EPM Add-in.exe?

Download the Latest SP fpr the server which is Patch 1 and for the EPM Client download SP3. Take a look at http://help.sap.com. Look for the installation guide for BPC 10 which will detail where you need to put the EPM 10 Add in files to allow the user to download and install on their client machines.

EPM and EVDRE sorting changed in BPC 10

We feel that the expand function on base level (BAS) in both EPM and EVDRE have been changed from 7.5 to BPC 10. It is the sorting of members that we feel is wrong. It is not expanding on the order of the dimension but on what hierarchy level order the member has. This will render in strange sort order of the members. We got this answer from the support on this:
“By product design, I would like to confirm the changing of Member order for BAS Key of in BPC 10 (within EPM-Addin), comparing to 7.5 version for an EVDRE report. In version 7.5, the members are retrieved in the order of the dimension whereas in version 10, the members are retrieved by hierarchy level order (refer to the attached document "What's News" in PDF format, on the section page 11). By the way, you can change the default member order to ascending in version 10, please follow the steps below:
1. Click Edit Report and click the Dimension where the members need to be reordered to bring up the Member Selector window.
2. Click the Member Sorting & Grouping button and check the box next to Enable Member Sorting and click OK twice.
After these steps, the members should be in ascending order.”
This is actually not helping at all. It is then sorted based on numerical and alphabetical order. This is not good! Is there actually a need for sorting like this when you do it on a base level?
To explain what we would like to have then:
We would like it to sort as the expansion on “Descendants” (EPM) “ALL” (EVDRE) except for the calculated members which should be excluded.
Is there anyone else that feels the same as we do?

Solution
Once you have installed the EPM add-in, edit the the "FPMXLClient.dll.config" file in the installation directory and set the "UseHierarchyOrderForBaseLevelSelectionRelationShip" element value to "true".

Error selecting a dimension member in BPC EPM report - The given key was not present in the dictionary

We are currently running SAP BPC 10.1 NW on Hana
Version:
CPMBPC 810 SP 4
SAP_BW 740 SP 9
HANABPC 810 SP 4
EPM Excel Add-in 10 SP 21 .NET 4 build 9094.
On my embedded model. I have a BEX query on a aggregation level which I access in a report using the EPM Add-in Excel .
When I edit my report in EPM Add-in Excel , and I try to select the dimension members for a selected dimension member, I get the following error.
"The given key was not present in the dictionary"
Any assistance to help resolve the problem will be appreciated.

Hi Shrikant,
I had a look at MBR_SEQ , it is a attribute on the dimension member in BW , this relates to a past version of BPC 7.5. We are currently on BPC 10.1 Embedded model , and the MBR_SEQ does not exist on any of the characteristics I have in my info cube.
When I create a web report I am able to access the dimension members using the select dimensions options, the problem seems to be on the EPM Add-in Excel client only.
