While saving the input form i am getting following error. its happening with one account dimension member only.

Hi Surya,
Basically work status is locking mechanism of BPC. As i said earlier the whole work status concept works on the owner manager relationship. So try to understand the concept of owner and manager relation and how it works in bpc. In work status only owner or manger have access to do certain activities. BPC10NW Failed to save data message

We made changes to a model in BPC, switched Input Currency to Rpt Currency. We optimized the model. Re-opened the Input Form we are testing and refreshed. We still have writeback/input enabled cells according to the colors. We enter data and when we save it we are getting the error message "Failed to save data" but when we refresh the form the data we entered is there and any sums or subtotals are calculated. The data entered also shows up in BW, so it is saving the data. What is really wrong, and how do I fix it?

Thank you both. Yes, it was the Default logic blocking the save. Commented out everything in Default logic and came back into the input form and it worked fine, but of course was not calculating the taxes. I tried *When logic and was able to save, but did not get a tax calculation. I switched to MDX and set the tax account = to the Operating Profit * .25 and that worked as expected and did not bomb out the Input form.

I have an application using CR XI R2, and on certain users computers when they try to run a report they get the following error:
Failed to retrieve data from the database.Details: [Database Vendor Code: 229]Failed to retrieve data from the database.Error in File C:\DOCUME1\turkj\LOCALS1\Temp\WhseEmpJobAndActivityByUserAndDate {22DA2F53-4391-4307-9F2A-0E3C3EBE2198A}.rpt
The report uses SQLOLEDB (ADO) and integrated authentication - it runs fine on the development machine.
I found very little info on this error on the web (google) - so I hope someone here has an idea.

You need to make sure that those systems can get conneted to the database that is supposed to return data. To check that create a udl in clients machine.
Also do not change the schema of he report.

@oradba:Hi Thanks for getting bak. Well i have ran the query using PL/SQL Developer tool and yes its mapping to ORA-03001:unimplemented feature. i dont know what the problem is.

Error: Failed to restore data position

We are running a report in the Crystal Reports Java runtime engine and receive the following:
"Error
Failed to restore data position, target: section = SectionCode;, printRecordNumber = 339, pageN = 2, result: section = SectionCode:, printRecordNumber = 399, pageN = 2"
The report includes header with formulas and logos, 3 sub reports, and a cross tab.
In case the cross tab has a small number of records and is printed in one page, there is no error. Once the cross tab has more records and requires another page to print, the error message is displayed.
The report data contains tables and an SQL command, all from one database.
This happens only on the runtime engine. When we run the report through Crystal Reports designer - no errors even if the cross tab requires 2 or more pages to print.
System:
Development: Crystal Reports designer 2008 SP3, ODBC, mySQL
Runtime: Java runtime engine (latest release from SAP's web site), JDBC, mySQL

Ori,
If the report runs in the CR design interface there isn't a CR issue. You should have better luck getting an answer to your question is you post it in the [Java - SAP Crystal Reports|SAP Crystal Reports, version for Eclipse; forum.

Above message says that your registry is not consistent and some of the parameters are missing from registry.Or
Account installing SQL server does not have permission to access this. I think case can be here that account with which you logged into your system to install SQL Server might not have certain privileges. Can you take help
of domain admin account add it as a local administrator in this machine always right click on setup file and select run as administrator. Before this make sure you remove all SQL Server components from add remove program

Error "failed to retrieve data set (ds1) for spry:repeat" in IE when using filters

Everything works fine in Firefox, but in IE7 I get an error
message saying "Failed to retrieve data set (ds1) for spry:repeat."
It seems to be my filter set that's causing this. Once I commented
out the chunk of code that handles filtering, the page finally
loaded. How can I get it to work in IE?

This usually means the dataset (ds4) can not be found / is not created.
So double check that you have created the dataset.
If this is the case.. please provide us with a online url.

Seems like you have a database trigger on the table that is in invalid mode - talk with your DBA to find out why.
(Or open it in JDeveloper and make sure it compiles).

Error:" Failed to save package list! "while creating package

I m working in BPC 7.5 NW version.Here I am trying to create a package for the process chain /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER and /CPMB/IMPORT_IOBJ_HIER,however when I am trying to save them to the package list, an error is popping up saying"Failed to save package list!".
Can anyone say me what would be the reason for such error, where can I debug and fix it?

Error: Failed to save script

When trying to save a script I recive the following error:
This happens in both the online and offline modes in the desktop application (on mac) and in the browser application (chrome).
Also I could not import a pdf into story while in online mode in either the desktop or web browser.
I tried re-installing air and story yet no go still

I've been using MDT for a little while now, but I'm having problems successfully deploying an image to a batch of new laptops. The laptop HDD's are completely blank, and I am PXE booting using an x64 Litetouch Image via WDS. I have successfully captured
my image from a reference laptop (the same model that I'm trying to image), and I am now trying to deploy it using a standard client task sequence.
The 'Install operating System' phase seems to go ok, but then sits for quite some time at the 'Applying Unattend.xml' stage, then eventually, I get a general error 'Task Sequence Failed - 80004005'. I then exit MDT (it doesn't reboot as it should), and let
the laptop boot, which it does, and logs straight on into Windows, but gives me error along the lines of 'can't find the litetouch script', which I assume means MDT hasn't been able to copy it across. The laptop is however joined to our domain, and I pretty
much just have to tick the 'require a password to log on to this computer' box in user accounts, and all looks ok.
So in summary, the image is applying, but the laptop is not rebooting and running the final cleanup scripts.
I have already changed the SATA mode to IDE, instead of AHCI, having read this sometimes causes problems. I also read that systems with UEFI BIOS can also cause problems with MDT, but I'm not sure if this is the case.
I have edited my customsettings.ini, to copy log files back to my server, which it has done for me. Having looked at the logs (with CM Trace), I can see these errors:

You don't mention what kind of OS this is (Windows 7 Pro x64?)
This is a known issue/FAQ.
I would recommending using MDT 2012 (update 1) for UEFI machines.
Machines with uEFI 2.3.1 only support Windows 8.x.

Failed to retrieve data from the database Error

I had some reports setup in Crystal XI based on a Sql server but recently we had an upgrade, the database has been moved to IBM Informix.
There is a certain table that seems to be causing the problem.
The error:
"Failed to retrieve data from the database
Details: 42000:[informix][informix ODBC Driver][informix]A syntax error has occured .[Database Vendor Code:-201]".
I run the same query in MS Access and it seems to run fine.
I even tried to do a simple dump of the table onto Crystal but no luck.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
It seems your ODBC Driver is not compatible, try to download a driver which supports Informix through CR XI. I think you may have to download Data Direct Drivers 5.1 version to access Informix data tables through CR XI.

Failed to retrieve data from the database error message

Hello,
I have a fairly simple report that correctly retrieves the data from the database providing that there are no selection formula.
However, as soon as I add the record selection formula:
{fireService.serviceDate} >= DateTime (2009, 10, 3, 0 ,0 ,0)
I get the following errors:
Failed to retrieve data from the database
Cannot determine the queries necessary to get data for this report. Details: An invalid range operator has been encountered.
However, when I use the Database / Show SQL Query option and copy the query directly into the sql query analyser it works perfectly.
Any ideas?

I am using a table to select the records from.
In fact it is a series of joined tables.
The SQL Query generated is:

It looks complext but is not. Most of these joins reference lookup tables.
