Epm suite 11.1.2.4 setup

Hello,
Can someone please let me know if the following setup is possible in vmare on windows 2012 r2?
server 1 - essbase (memory intense application)   (32gb-8cores-1gb)
server 2 - essbase (memory intense application) (32gb-8cores-1gb)
server3 - essbase/planning                                 (32gb-8cores-1gb)
server4- foundation/epma/financial reporting         (32gb-8cores-1gb)
server5- relation database (sql server)
would i have to install different instances of essbase server on each server that i essbase to run on?

Presumably you've already looked at the install documents: Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Documentation
The Standard Deployment guide lists server requirements, and per those guidelines what you've suggested is definitely "possible".
Whether it's optimal or appropriate for your applications / load is a bit more complicated! This is one area where I would really recommend getting some consultancy time from an infrastructure specialist. Without wanting to be rude, I wouldn't make these decisions based on advice from people on the internet, who don't know the details of your application.
Yeah, they would be installed as different Essbase instances. Are you planning on using clustering, or completely independent instances? The options for clustering are described in the Deployment Options Guide.
I do know several environments where Essbase in particular benefits from more memory than 32GB, but again, I don't know your applications, concurrency etc.

Clonning of the EPM Suit from Production to Training Server.

Hi Gurus/experts,
Quick one -
Some xwz Company has already Implemented EPM Suit 11.1.2.1 , HFM,HPM,Essbase modules.
They are having the Production and Test Enviroment of the Hyperion running smoothly.
Now we have been given the contract to do the training where client wants us to take the clone of the
Existing EPM Suit ( Hyperion HFM, HPM , Essbase) and give us the training.
I would like to know whether is there any process where we can do the Clonning of the Oracle EPM Suit
11.1.2.1 from production to Test Server. ?
Currently they are Using
Windows Server 2008 R2 - HFM HPM Essbase
Windows Server 2003 - FDQM
SUN SPARC 64 bit for the Oraacle Database.
Please advise.

HOW TO UNINSTALL EPM SUITE

Hi All,
when iam trying to uninstall EPM it is showing that it could not stop the services and If i try to stop the services it displays that it could not stop that service.
I f i cancel to stop the services it starts initializing at Uninstall stage but it is not able to uninstall.
If anybody solve this issue it would be appreciate.

Are you using the same user who performed the EPM installation? If not please use the same user.. otherwise Please try below steps..
1. Change all Hyperion Services Startup Type to Manual.
2. Restart the Machine.
3. execute EPM Uninstallation
If EPM uninstallation utility unable to uninstall EPM then you follow below steps
Delete the EPM directory.
Clear the EPM Registry using Regedit... Be careful before modifying the registry please take the full registry backup.

EPMA Server not starting for New Installation of EPM 11.1.2.2.0

Hi i am having problem of EPMA Server not getting started .... i installed many times and configured but problem still persists that's first time i am installing the EPM suite so plz bear me for any stupid questions.....
I am using :
Oracle Version: 11.2.0.1.0
EPM Version: 11.1.2.2.0
Note:
1. While installing Oracle Client i used first option to install "Oracle Instant Client " with minimum configuration.
2. While configuring Database in " EPM System Configurator" window...in Server name it was not taking exact server name instead was taking "localhost". So i used localhost...Can this be an issue?
In EPM Configuration I got message that "Oracle data access client not installed" is it related to EPM Server.
I am confused about installation is "ODAC" and "Oracle Data Access Client" are same or different. As i am not getting "Oracle Data Access Client" to download.
I just want " Essbase , Planning and Reporting Applications".
Please do help as i need to solve this problem urgently.

Is this a personal install of the EPM? If so you may need to install the MS Loopback adaptor for Oracle db first
For EPMA it may be easier just to install the full Oracle Client as it should work then.

Installing OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on existing EPM 11.1.2.3

hello expert
I've sucessfully create a fresh install of epm suite 11.1.2.3 (planning,hpcm,hfm) on my virtual machine now I want install OBIEE 11.1.1.7
I need suggestion about how to install obiee on the same machine...
1) I need a new weblogic instance on a different port or I can re-use same instance (EPMSystem, running on 7001 port)?
2) I have to install another essbase/studio/easServer/workspace or I can re-use the existing?

If you want to run the EPM weblogic admin server and OBIEE at the same time then you would need for them to run on different ports.
You don't have to select the essbase option when installing OBIEE if you have already installed the essbase products.
I would install OBIEE to a different middleware home than EPM and keep the weblogic domains separate.

Need help to setup UMS adapter for email polling using BPEL

I am trying to use UMS adapter to read emails from a mailbox.

In PS5, this feature was introduced in preview mode and is not recommended to be used in production. Please use PS6 (11.1.1.7.0) if you want to implement this feature for a production solution.

Check out the Hyperion Installation Technology patches for 11.1.2.3 in Oracle Support, there are a couple and decide whether you feel they are required for your installation, I recommend installing 16831604

Cannot unistall creative suite 2

I have just installed the new cs5 programs, so I would like to get rid of the old cs2 versions that are on my computer. The creative suite 2 was never fully installed due to some errors, but the programs still appear in the adobe folder and they still try to open even when I am trying to open the new cs5 version. I tried going to "uninstall program" in the control panel, but when I click on "uninstall/change creative suite 2," I get the following message:
"Installation cannot continue until all adobe creative suite applications are fully closed. This includes adobe acrobat, which may be running in the background. Please close all your applications and restart your computer to continue with installation."
Acrobat is never running when this prompt comes up, and I have tried restarting the computer to no avail. I also get the same prompt when I try to finish fully installing the creative suite 2 software. I am at an impasse. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.

All Adobe products (Flash, Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, Creative Suites, etc.) leave a VERY pervasive footprint on your hard drive. Addobe Cleaner Tool only works for CS 3 and newer; do not know how effective MS Cleanup Tool is. Here is a way to manually clean everything up. I did this 4 weeks ago and everything works flawlessly now.
SOLUTION (not easy, but it works):
Before doing anything, make document and any database/presets/cache back-ups beforehand (keep notes on their designated location*); manually create a System Restore point. (Be prepared to restore or reinstall Windows if necessary - I did not have to do either.)
Completely and meticulously eradicate (clean) your hard drive of ALL Adobe programs [uninstall, remove remaining folders, and remove only the registry entries that have the Adobe name attached (unless you are an expert and fully understand the other entries)]. Do a Custom/Manual reinstall of all your Adobe products *in order of release dates* (OLDEST first).... do not include Reader, Flash, etc. If your CD will not automatically run at this point, click "Open folder to view files" (use Computer/Windows Explorer, if necessary). Click "Adobe Creative Suite (or your desired program) ==> Setup.exe" (IMPORTANT: Make sure that Reader, Flash, etc. are unchecked.)
After each of your desired Adobe programs are installed, test to insure they boot up. Then download the latest Reader, Flash, etc. apps and install them (I did this in order of release date - oldest first). Do test boot(s) again.
Copy/Paste your document and any database/presets/cache back-ups into the appropriate folders (*this will vary depending on your programs and your filing system).

OWB and PeopleSoft EPM integration

1) Has anyone used Oracle Warehouse Builder for ETL in conjunction with PeopleSoft EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) Data Warehouse?
2) Does anyone know the expected strategy of Oracle on how to integrate the PeopleSoft EPM suite into the Oracle BI & OWB Suite?
3) Is the integration of the BI products expected to be in parallel with or independant from the integration of the Oracle and PeopleSoft Financials?
4) PeopleSoft EPM having business content and Oracle BI/OWB not, what is the expected 'joint formula' to be able to compete with SAP R/3, BW, SEM, etc.

Which course is better for consolidation apects of BPC and other EPM tools

I am having the technical understanding of BPC as a tool, but I am not able to understand the consolidation part of it. I would like to gain an insight of the financial part of the BPC consolidation. Not only this, there are few other tools in EPM suite (like Intercompany reconciliation; Financial consolidation; Disclosure management; Financial information management) which requires relevant understanding of Financial accounting.
Can anyone please suggest, which Professional course would be better for the above tools; not just from the point of knowledge but also with regards to job prospects (as I have seen that company's now asking for consultants with background of CA/CPA/ICWA etc).
I had gone through the course structure of ICWAI, but not sure whether it will be of very help.

I understand your point, but as you might be knowing that in real world no one just decides by looking at the face that this guy is having good finanicial knowledege, so lets take him for the job. Moreover when it comes to client interaction, if the client is given two profiles - where one consulant writes only his experience and knowledge and the other one describes his/her added certification or post graduation in the concerned subject (in addition to the same level of experience and knowledge), then ofcourse the second one will be given the priority over the first.
So my view is that just by understanding the topics will never give you the cutting edge in the market, you additionally need some thing to make your profile an eye catcher and that too needs to be relevant with your area of work.
Thats where I am confused and hence posted the question.
Also many thanks for the book that you have suggested, that might be a good option for the time being.

Migrating EPM 11.1.1 from one machine to another

I have installed entire EPM suite on a machine. Is it possible to migrate the entire EPM 11.1.1 to another machine.
In EAS we can migrate only Essbase related things but I want to migrate the entire installation

NB -- LCM will migrate on a product-by-product basis. That means that you will have multiple migrations. There is no concept of migrating an entire environment.
LCM is smart enough to migrate dependant artifacts, i.e., the Essbase databases that are part of a Planning application.
And you'll need to migrate in order, i.e., Shared Services first, other products subsequently.
The above isn't a knock on the product -- it's really cool and miles easier than the older, poorly documented migration processes in 9.x.
Also, you can create scriptable migrations and LCM will even generate the stub of the XML used to do the migration.
One last cool thing -- many artifacts are exported in XML format, e.g., Planning dimensions, so you can (if you are brave) edit metadata before migrating to the source. It's pretty cool stuff. Of course your data has to match but there are definitely possibilities.

Unable to launch EPM System Configurator

Actually i am not able to delete the EPM File's to reinstall using Uinstall EPM System.I just went to Control panel and deleted directly Some of the file's using some of the blogs but I could not delete like.dll file's.So When I tried to configuring after reinstall it is throwing error while configuring like Windows could not find javaw.Please help on this It's urgent
