EPMA Scervices error

Hi,
I am getting the following error while trying to start EPMA - Process manager. I am using epm 11.1.1.3 on windows xp. The database is oracle xe.
I have grated sysdba privilige to the database user. I am able login to shared services ,workspace and planning.

Hi,
EPMA is not supported on XP so you are going to experience issues, I suggest installing on one of the supported operating systems.

EPMA Validation Error: dimension removed or deleted since first deployment

Dear experts,
Our deployment is on EPMA and we were able to successfully deploy the Planning application before. Then we tried to update the dimension by loading UDA to each members, after which, we hit this error at validation:
Error : The xxxx dimension has been removed or deleted since the first successful deployment of the application.
We did have UDA dimension in it before the update and all dimensions in the applications are shared from the library.
Our application is on 11.1.1.3 and we have tried to removed all associations and redo it, but still hit this error. As there are many members being assigned with UDA, wonder if it's possible to solve the error without deleting the UDA dimension and recreate it?
Any input help, please kindly help!

Goal
You cannot delete a UDA dimension from EPMA once the application it belongs to has been deployed.
ERROR
The 'Colour' dimension has been removed or deleted since the first successful deployment of the application.
Is there some way to remove the UDA dimension (not just modify its members)? This was possible in the Classic Planning interface but is not when using EPMA.
Solution
This is a limitation of EPMA and Planning. There is no mechanism in version 11.1.1.3 and earlier to allow EPMA to remove dimensions from Planning, and because EPMA treats UDAs, Attribute Dimensions, and Smart Lists as dimensions they also cannot be removed from Planning once the application has been deployed for the first time. They can be modified, but not deleted.
In version 11.1.2 you can delete a UDA dimension in EPMA with no errors but the application will no longer validate (throwing the same error as in 11.1.1.3) and therefore cannot be deployed. However, this does offer an easy way to remove all UDAs assigned to members. If you delete and then re-create a UDA dimension in EPMA the application can be re-deployed again, even if you do not re-create any dimension associations. When you redeploy, all UDAs for this dimension are cleared from Planning and Essbase. This means that although the UDA dimension itself is required in EPMA, there is no trace of it in Planning and Essbase after redeploying.

EPMA application error

Hi gurus,
In epma application library i deleted one of the existing application and created a new application the application was deployed successfully. I need to implement partitions to this application. I have successfully defined partition(two replicated and one transparent) during validation and data copy i'm getting following error msg, the application name mentioned in the error is not the application name that i had given. Even it is throwing error during partition validation/data replication i'm getting data in the application and calcscripts were also executing. i want to know what this error means and why it is showing different name.

Sorry - reread your post and follow that it is an EPMA BSO app, not planning. Can you try placing the Period dimension before the Account dimension in order and seeing if it deploys? I know that's not ideal, but just as a test. You may want to read the very end of this possibly related post:

EPMA Communication Error

HI John,
I have created an EPMA application,validated and deployed successfully.After couple of minutes I clicked on the application(Finplan) in the Application Library, it throws a "Communication Error". I logged off from Workspace, logge in again and opened Application Library. Didn't even try to click on the Application and this time it shows the same error. The error is as below:

Thanks for your quick response. Yes, Calc Manager was not up and started that. NOw it got no error.
One more small doubt-> When I click Validate on the application in the application library it doesn't throw any error, where as when I click validate "ALL" it throws the below error.
Is this also because of calc manager not runinng?? Please suggest
"Application validation has been aborted.Could not Validate Calc Manager rules either the application is not deployed
or connection to calc manager machine could not be established"

Planing - EPMA Configuration error in 11.1.1.2

Hi,
We installed 11.1.1.2 Hyeprion products. After configuration we find two errors in Config_err.log file
(<Date & Time>), com.hyperion.awb.config.AWBAppServerDeployer, ERROR, Product is not registered. Register product through Shared Services before doing deployment.
(<Date & Time>), com.hyperion.planning.HspDBConfigurator, ERROR, HP-9.5.0 product is not registered.
Validation showing everyting sucess but in shared services only shared services is exist. but we cofigured Planning, HFM, EPMA, Essbase admin.
while configurting after providing shared servcies database credentials for the remaining product database configuration in cofig cmd screeen showing "HBR Configuration has not been initialized.Make sure you have logged in sucessfullly and ther are no exception in the HBR log file.ConfigurationMangaer not available"
Can any one help onthis.

I am not able to find those things in Provision. So it seems it is not configured correclty. am i correct? and not finding EPMA options in workspace.
But in 11 x it will configure automaticallly in sequence .any way as per my master suggestion(you) i will try to configure workspace weservices at last

EPMA Deployment Error - Unable To create

We are trying deploy a Hyperion Planning Application using EPMA and we are getting the following error. The Oracle database being used is version 11gR2 and the user has the create view, session & resource.

I see the Error " Unable to create Scehma for application.Exiting Application Creation". I think the The user does not have the necessary Database privileges.
make sure that the user should be the Database creator and should have other necessary privileges.

Error while loggin into EPMA after schema migration - 9.3.1.3 to11.1.1.3.02

Hello Everyone,
We are migrating 9.3.1.3 EPMA DB schema (having planning/hfm applications) to 11.1.1.3 EPMA. Applied the required patch - "p9535372" to target server "11.1.1.3" so now target server is 11.1.1.3.02. After patch apply, we migrate the EPMA DB Schema and execute the upgrade through Configurater. Everything goes fine and able to login into shared services and workspace but system throws an error while loging into EPMA.
Error Message -
1) loading the module 'awb.appcontainer" failed
2) Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Raised the SR - 3-4112905501 and BUG16- Bug 12808646 with oracle support/product team, meanwhile any suggestion/advice will be of Gr8 help
We have followed the other meta-link docs in reference to this issue, but not able to resolve the issue

1. Backup the relational tables of the application in 9.3.1
2. Backup essbase objects (rul, otl ,csc, rep)
3. Install EPMA 11.1.2.2 in a new server, including a new sql server instance.
4. Shared Services provisioning use CSSImportExport utility to export from the 9.3.1 env and then transform to LCM format to import, or you can look at the HSSMigrate utility which is available with 11.1.2.2 (JohnGoodwin)
5. Create a new application same name of database and connection and apply a “create” --->“Create a fresh planning application on version 11 make sure the admin is the same name as your old 9.3 planning app: “If the admin of your 9.3 planning application a native user and not the default hyperion system admin (account=admin) then; Go into the database tables for the planning app and look at table HSP_USERS, store the SID value against user 50001" JohnGoodwin:

6. Stop application, shutdown services.
7. Restore all relational tables of the 9.3.1 application (step 1) in to the ne application (step 5.)
8. Start services, apply a create in the application.
9. Copy objects (step 2) except otl.
10. Export data from 9.3.1 and import data to 11.1.2.2 application.

Error Key word when interfacing EPMA interface table

I'm trying to interface a SQL server database with EPMA interface tables. So basically, I'm doing SQL server to SQL server.
I already have several Interfaces that work fine, but I encounter an issue when interfacing a ...PropertyArray table in EPMA IT.
This table has a column called "Key" and I wonder if that's not the problem, key must be a special word.

I don't see what you mean, sorry I'm a beginner with ODI.
I might have found a workaround though, I can update UDAs, aaliases and attribute in the Hierarchy table, I have no use of the property array table.

500 internal server error in EPMA and Calc manager in 11.1.2.1

We are getting the below errors in EPMA log and Calc Manager log and unable to determine the cause of it. It seems like this particular issue was cause while deploying a calc manager rule for an HFM app. The issue resolved itself and the errors went away after about an hour. We have gotten the below error frequently in the last 3 weeks or so after having more activity lately in the environment. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Error while loading members using ads file in EPMA planning app in 11.1.2.2

Hi,
I am trying to update the dimension using ads file in EPMA application(11.1.2.2).
1. I am getting following error:
"The member 'xxx' cannot be created or inserted into the shared dimension 'yyy' within the application 'abc' during application import as this is not allowed by the system. Property updates for this member will not be processed."
2. Also, I am trying to create shared dimension using ads file. I am replacing Isprimary property to 'N' and Datastore property to 'ShareData' in the ads file. There is no error while doing it and the status is 100% complete but I could not see any changes in the hierarchy.
Any help would be great in this.

Error while deploying an HFM application in EPMA application

Hi,
I have created an application in HFM and its validating fine. While I try to deply the application by EPMA application library I get the below error;
Detail : Initiating Product Action...
Generating Headers and Callback Information...
Generating Application Data...
Posting Product Request...
**ActiveX component can't create object (HFM:1AD)**
**Action aborted.**
Can anyone please help on this?

This error indicates that the dcom object is not able to launch successfully:
a) Start > Run > DCOMCNFG
b) Expand Component Services > Computers > My Computer > DCOM CONFIG
c) Locate the COMJNIBRIDGE object, right-click and choose "properties"
d) Click on the identity tab and choose "This user" and browse for the FDM Service account and enter/confirm the password
e) Re-test
dcom user must have local security policy rights.
please try these to resolve ur issue, make sure u have backup of the registry before doing this.

Urget Error while deploying the HFm application in EPMA

Dear All
Please suggest me on the below error while i am deploying the HFM application sencond time system throughs the below error. for this what i have to check ??
Error :The 'Test_YearCon' dimension has been modified since the first successful deployment of the application.

you have made modifications in your Year and Period dimensions, even in just the aliases possibly, since the last time the Application was deployed.
it is not allowed to make any modifications to these dimensions after 1st deployment. HFM does not support it.
to get a successful deployment you will need to delete the application and redeploy.
also please make sure you are using the latest Service Pack version of your release of EPMA e.g. if 9.3.1 make sure you are using 9.3.1 Service Pack 3 and fully read the Readme documentation that comes with it.

Error during EPMA planning app deployment

Hello Experts,
I am trying to deploy an EPMA Planning application through Workspace. EPM version is 11.1.2.3
Below is the error that is getting thrown while deployment (with selecting options - "Refresh Outline", "Create Security Filters" & "Full Deploy"):

Any idea what should be exact meaning of this error/exception?

Does it deploy if you remove the Security filter option, what is the error message if you deploy just the security filters from within the planning app and not epma, if it is generates an error from the planning app there should then be some information in the planning and essbase logs.
