Epocrates

The Epocrates program in my I phone is not working properly, when I log into my account on the iPhone it gives me an error, it said that the safari could not continue downloading because it is not secure connection.

It's not the first thread... The Search function found 6 others in a few seconds!
Yes, it's sad Epocrates chose to leave webOS.  When all the new webOS devices debut, they may change their minds!

  • Free ePocrates Rx Pro offer from BlackBerry - I can't register my device!?!

I am a previous Palm user but now purchased a BlackBerry as my new device because of an offer for a free ePocrates Rx Pro (a medical software program) subscription with a new BlackBerry purchase.
    http://www.blackberry.com/select/smb/healthcare/offers.shtml
    https://www.blackberry.com/HealthCareOffer/index.do
However, I am unable to get the promised ePocrates subscription, because the registration website keeps giving me an error message of "First IMEI invalid" when I try to register my new, activated device - with the CORRECT IMEI number. There is notechnical support contact information listed anywhere.
According to the offer guidelines, I have to register within 14 days of the purchase, which will expire tomorrow as I have been trying unsuccesssfully to register for two weeks now.
Could somebody help me with this problem?
I hope that the BlackBerry offer was real!!!

you can contact ePocrates here, I found it wo clicks away from the first link you gave us.

  • Palm centro wont sync epocrates

    Hello,
I am having two problems with my palm centro
    1. I am trying to download epocrates, via a mac, to my palm centro. The icon shows up but when selected the program is empty. The hotsync message says there is an error in downloading. The centro says it is unable to complete, the installer is missing
    2. I want to edit the categories on my contacts. Everytime I try to edit I can get into the edit screen, type in the edit, but the centro re-boots when I hit OK, not saving the edit.

    Did these keys ever work?
Have you installed anything lately that corresponds with the timing of the errors?
Since the device is still covered under warranty, I'd take it back to whomever you purchased it through, either Sprint or Palm.
Note:  Both of them might ask you to Hard Reset the phone to determine whether the problem is caused by software.  Have you tried this yet?

  • Does new ERIS update provide access to Epocrates?

I foolishly believed the Verizon store clerk who told me I'd have access to Epocrates because the ERIS operating system would be updated within a month... back in April.   When it finally did come out, the update was so bad that Verion recommended we not install it.  Now a new update is available but it's not clear from the notice whether it really gets us up to the 2.0 threshold required to run Epocrates.  Does anyone know if the new ERIS update will provide access to Epocrates?

The new update is only a bug-fix for the 2.1 update, if you couldn't run it before, you can't run it now...unless, of course, you were still on 1.5.

  • Epocrates drug app for the Z10

I have the 9900 smartphone with the 7.1 OS. It allows me to use the epocrates app. I am now told on the epocrates website that it will not be available on the Z10.  And it isn't available for my playbook. This is a major app for anyone in the medical profession. We need it on us not only in the computer at the office. Why is Blackberry reducing the apps currently available and needed? If I cannot have the epocrates app on the z10, I will not buy it, much as I want to.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
BlackBerry is not "at fault" here...the app developers choose what devices they will support and which they will not. BB10 is a revolutionary change from prior BB devices...and apps must be totally re-written to run on BB10. While I've heard that app development for BB10 is actually easier than prior BB models, it nevertheless is a complete re-write that they'd have to undertake.
Each app developer makes their own choice as to what devices they will support. BlackBerry do not restrict app developers from writing their app for BB10...the developer makes that choice.
So, it seems your complaint would be better raised with the epocrates folks...doesn't it? Unless I am misunderstanding?
    Good luck!

  • Epocrates and MacBook Pro

    Hello,
Just got my new MBP a few weeks ago. It's a sweet computer. I'm totally bummed about the whine issue as it has shown it's ugly head a few times... frustrating because I wouldn't expect Apple to be sending out new July MBPs with the issues that people are bringing them back in for. I digress...
My question is for any medical field people out there and installing Epocrates on these new MBPs. I have all the latest Palm Desktop Software, but my install of Epocrates on the MBP is not working... it gets hung up on the install and says that it can't complete because a file is not found. I have a Tungsten E and I use HotSync. Anyone been able to get Epocrates installed on his/her MBP??
    Thanks!

you may want to try "Missing Sync"
It's decent software that makes installing much easier from MBPs to the Palm device.
Here's the problem with most of our medical software - they need to create "conduits" so that each time you "sync" the device, your medical software is updated.
As it turns out, Missing Sync doesn't support such conduits for 3rd party software, so as it's easier to install stuff, you can't really update it.
I think the same problem exists with the Palm Desktop and iSync. I got so frustrated trying to get both to work that I just got the Missing Sync, which has only been slightly better.
Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm pretty sure my epocrates worked correctly even with just palm desktop and iSync. Did you enable Palm OS syncing under the iSync Settings?
I remember because I got all of those doc alerts every time I sync, so it was working correctly at one time.
So maybe that will help - hopefully that will help. If not we'll work it out because I need that stuff just as well as you do.
Also FYI Tarasgon is GREAT for the Palm.

  • Epocrates and other BB apps

I have been using my BB Curve 8310 for a couple of years and have used Epocrates for 2 years. In the last week it is no longer able to auto update or update at all.  The message I am getting is "the application EpocratesApp has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy".
I downloaded the Pageonce app and have never been able to bring it up because I get the same message as above. Can anyone tell me what this means and how to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Nancy

Well that is a strange situation indeed. I have no explanation as to why things ever worked for you...if you are not on BES, then there was no place for a revised IT Policy to have come from, meaning it's been there all along, but things worked before...so it's a conundrum...and purely academic at this point.
All I can advise you is that you need to cleanse your BB of the IT Policy so that you have none of those restrictions on your services. Here is a procedure:

  • Loading epocrates onto powerbook

I down loaded epocrates onto my powerbook. I shows up on the desktop. I then try to open the program to load onto computer so that I can load it onto my palm tungsten and I get the following error message:
1008: 5, 5000 and says that I do not have the correct security priveleges?
I tried in past with this problem to deactivate or change these priveleges without success. Could you run me through the process or give me some insight that I may not have.
    thanks,
    Tim

Onto a form? Do you mean a Frame?
    To load:
    URL url = MyClass.class.getResource("resources/images/rightfan.png");
    ImageIcon xi = new ImageIcon(url);
    Then to draw:
    g.drawImage(xi.getImage(),x,y,null);
where g is the Graphics objects from the thing you are trying to draw the image on.

  • Week view and task list solutions? Solved: a way to sync notes to Mac.

I've been using a Palm Tungsten T5 for years and routinely rely on the Palm's Calendar week view feature and task list. The week view is indispensable to see where I can fit in appointments. Are there any ways to achieve the same functionalities on the iPhone, whether using built-in iPhone apps or third party apps? The task list would have to include item priorities, due dates, alarms, and ideally repeating events.
I have found a way to sync notes from the iPhone to my Mac using MarkSpace's The Missing Sync for iPhone; notes are synced to the MarkSpace "notebook" application, where you can edit the notes (and copy and paste) and sync them back to the iPhone. This doesn't sync notes with any Apple applications, though.
If I could solve the week view and task list omissions, I could see my way to replace my Palm with an iPhone. (And when ePocrates releases a full suite for the iPhone, I'll be all set.) But in the absence of these, I'll have to keep using a Palm.

I'm in the same boat, unfortunately.
As a life long Palm-User the PIM-functionalities of iCal can only be described as "rudimentary". It is nowhere near DateBk6 for example. And I would be just fine if it would come close to say 50% of it's functionality. Right now it's at about 25%.
    - no repeating tasks?
    - no tasks+calendar in one view?
    - no week view?
    - no icons for event/task categories?
Come on Apple, such a great device with the amazing screen resolution, horizontal view etc. and you are not taking opportunity of it and get beat by 10 year old PDA's?

How about try to disable the two Epocrates conduits from the Conduit Settings of the Hotsync Manager? This would really isolate whether its a Palm or Epocrates issue. You may try to consult with Epocrates support if ever it would sync sucessfull without the two conduits activated.

  • Hot Sync problems with Windows Vista using a Tungsten E2

Need Help solving a hot sync problem. Have a Tungsten E2, about a year old. Use Windows Vista OS. Can not sync to desktop. It worked fine for awhile then stopped sync'ing. Have reinstalled Palm Software, Have downloaded Palm 6.2. Have deleted all 3rd party apps,,,and their back up files. Particulary,,,,Epocrates apps, Took over my PDA. Installations and updates gets to synchronizing Calender and 'freezes' have left it on overnight figurng lots of data,,,,no progress. I need help. I really enjoy using this equipment.  I use my PDA for all my scheduling of work shifts appts etc. I would appreciate some suggestions. Thanks in advance. Mike.
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  So if I am understanding you when you try to sync it goes to calendar and freezes and never completes the sync.  That being the case the first thing you want to do is go to the conduits and turn off calendar then sync and all should be successful, except calendar will not sync.  What this indicates is that you have corrupted data in your calendar, most likely on the E2.  Do a google search on your computer for a utility 'dbfixit' and download it to your computer.  Extract it so you have the dbfixit.prc file and double click on it to put it in the installer.  Then, insuring the calendar conduit is off, sync to install it.  Once installed run dbfixit.  This utility is free or can be purchased for (I believe) 12.95.  The free version will search for corruption and problems let you know where they are and you will have to manually fix or delete them.  If you register it, when you run the utility it will find the errors and fix them as well.  Once all errors are fixed, turn the calendar conduit back on and you should be able to sync.

  • Can't sync Palm with Mac through iSync, only syncs with Palm Desktop

I have an older Palm Tungsten T3 that I use basically only to run a medical application that I need at work (ePocrates, which has its own conduit and auto-updates itself with hotsyncs). I haven't tried to sync it to my Mac for a long time. I use iCal for my calendaring needs, sync it with my iPod, and ignore the old stuff that's on the Palm, which I hardly ever even sync.
Today I had to reinstall the Epocrates software, and decided while I was at it I'd try to get the Palm syncing with the Mac (iCal, contacts, etc) again because it would be nice for it to show the same calendar data.
I reinstalled the newest version of Palm Desktop from scratch. Installed the ePocrates software on top of it. I have iSync 2.4. My Palm was not listed as a device initially. I chose "Enable Palm OS Syncing" from the menu; iSync then went through a series of steps in which it disabled several conduits (presumably to no longer sync with the Palm Desktop), then told me to enable the iSync Palm conduit through the HotSync manager, which I did.
I now show the Palm as a device on iSync, but it has a yellow caution icon over it and I'm not sure why. Clicking on it shows an options dialog. I chose for the first sync I wanted to erase everything on the device and then sync with the Mac. My syncs appear to work, but when the data is checked it seems to sync only with Palm Desktop. The old junky data on the Palm was not erased as requested. Newer calendar events and contacts from my Mac have not made it to the Palm. The ePocrates auto update conduit is working fine but that's the only part that is.
Any idea what's incompatible, or what I'm doing wrong here?

I have The Missing Sync and used it to sync my palm TX. I am now in the process of trying to get iCal going properly again. No longer have any calender views in iCal and the week views don't show until I have opened a month view and then go back to the week view. Very bizzare. Also have a heap of untitled calendar views in the drop down list option when looking at the info on any event - these calendar views are not accessible anywhere else though.
I'm not sure if it is Missing Sync or something I did wrong at present. Will also throw the problem to the Missing Sync people to see what they say. Will let you know. It seemed to work really well without needing the palm desktop!

  • Which Itouch should I buy?

This is my first post so please bare with me. I know next to nothing about the itouch and am trying to decide which one to buy for my wife. She has an old Sony Clie (Palm OS)she used for the calendar, contacts and storing medical programs but it just died. Many of her piers use either the iphone or itouch but since we are on Verizon the iphone is not an option. She is not interested in loading music, nor would she be interested in too many apps. Her main intrest would be the Calendar, Contacts and Epocrates. I'm sure she will take advantage of the wireless for maybe some emailing and facebook but not much else. I thought the 8gb would be fine but want to make sure that is the right choice for her or should I step up to the 32gb. So obviously, I could use some direction from those who are the experts. I would really appreciate anyones advice. Thanks

when your wife needs multitasking and homescreen wallpaper buy the 32GB itouch its´s much faster than the 8GB itouch the 32GB itouch is as fast as the iphone 3Gs you can surfing with the safari browser faster too i had bought the 8GB first because ithink i would´t buy much apps but when you start downloading apps you want more and more because there are muh pretty useful apps in the app store so i boght an 32GB itouch after 6 months using the 8GB i wuld be wait because some bloggers says that in september come out a new itouch what is like the iphone 4 with retina display, gyroscope, camera and 512mb ram so its much faster than the actually itouch 32GB
