For 8.2 web EPPM what part number is the reporting component to install? Is it Oracle Business Intelligence 11g ?

You can install either of 11g or 10g version of BI Publisher. For BI Publisher 10g download it from P6 EPPM 8.1 link in edelivery.oracle.com

Primavera EPPM 8.2 - Report Module Error

Hello Friends ,
I am new to EPPM 8.2 and we just installed EPPM 8.2 . Now when i am logging through Admin User ID , I am able to access and run reports. I have created some new user ID and
given same admin permission but with this ID ( Test) , I am not able to access Report Module. I am getting error as : "No Data Is Available Because Your P6 Username Is Not Valid For Connecting To The Reporting Database"

Do you have access to MoS? The Doc contains the details.
Here are few points to check
1. You need to give the new user "Enterprise Reports" module access in P6
2. Create user with same name in BI Publisher and give them the required access as per the Configuration Guide
3. Run Global schdeuled services
4. Check that you are able to run the reports from BI Publisher using the new user and it is returning data
5. if the abve is true then check in P6 and if you still have problem then bounce application server and retest.
I am assuming that you have done P6 Admin configuration correctly

BI Publisher PDF reports not displaying correctly from EPPM 8.2

Hi,
I have setup EPPM to run BI Publisher reports as specified in the documentation. I can see all the reports correctly and can run the reports ok after specifying the reqd parameters. However, when the report completes and tries to open the PDF output in Acrobat, the screen flashes and no output is displayed. This is when running P6 within Internet Explorer. If I run P6 in Firefox, the PDF output opens correctly.
I presume this is due to an IE setting or because the add-ons aren't configured correctly. Has anyone had the same sort of issue ?, and if so, how did you fix it ?.

Hi Khaja,
Font mapping is done using xdo.cfg file right ? If yes then yeah I have done it. But the barcodes are not displaying. Infact to display special fonts such as chinese,russian etc I have just pasted the corresponding ttf files under java home and not made any changes to xdo.cfg. But still the specail fonts are displayed properly.Problem is in displaying barcode fonts.

I can't find Reports tab in the P6 EPPM Applicaiton

HI Guys,
I have installed OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.7 with BI publisher.
And we have installed P6 8.3 Primavera application, Here we are trying to configure the BI publisher with P6 application.
Once configured, when we access the P6 application we are unable to found the Reports tab in application.
In the configuration we have given the URL as : http://xxxxxx:7001/xmlpserver/services/PublicReportService?WSDL
For folder path we mentioned : /P6REPORTS as a inputs
We moved the p6Reports.zip file from P6 EPPM application to OBIEE following location in the BI server
for 11g = %weblogic_home%\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\bipublisher\repository\Reports
Kindly suggests me to fix this issue.

Solution:
To add Access to "Enterprise Reports" to your user you need to follow these steps:
1)Log into P6 web access as administrator
2)Click on Administer
3)Click on User Access
4)Select the user
5)Add access to Enterprise Reports
6)Click on save Icon
7)Click on Logout
8)Log into P6 web access with selected user in step 4
Now you can able to see the Reports tab in p6eppm.

Email notification issue in p6 eppm 8.3

I have installed the p6 eppm 8.3 and i have configured the email notification too.
I can send the notification for running reports in p6 eppm.
But while assigning resource its showing an error like
your email server has not been configured please contact system administrator
Please help me to move forward and fix this issue as soon.

In our company various versions (V7, R8.1 and R8.3) of Primavera being used in various locations. To bring all the location to a common platform, management has decided to implement / upgrade Primavera EPPM P6 R8.3 and also planned to integrate Primavera P6 R8.3 EPPM with Oracle (EBS) Projects application . Hence, If any of you implemented Primavera P6 EPPM R8.3 or upgraded the earlier versions to Primavera P6 R8.3. Please share your ideas and also the pros and cons of implementing R 8.3 EPPM. For your information we are going to have SQL database since all the existing databases are in SQL.

we have done a lot of implementations and migrations to the P6 EPPM R8.3 from different former versions and this is working fine. the dbsetup does a good job.
A good way in my point of view is to set up a new P6 EPPM R8.3 system with a new PMDB Instance which will keep the configurations so that you easily can migrate or exchange the instances. Always remind to have a validated backup of any instance before migrating.
Before migration you should mind the following points:
The source version of the old P6 PMDB instance is:
P6.2.1 or before => first you need to migrate it to P6 V7.0 before you can migrate it to P6 R8.3
P6 V7.0 => check if you have used P6 WebAccess: if not okay, else check if you used jackrabbit (look for migration tool), Workflows (close all before migrating); Check if using Jobservice XER-Export (no longer available); Jobservice Batchreport (only Workaround available see Knowledgebase); Risks in the P6 Client (need to be manually migrated)
P6 R8.0 to R8.2 => Using Extended Schema, Enterprise Reporting Database, own BI Publisher Reports => Check stept to be taken for migration
Other questions are:
Which authentication method will you use (native, LDAP, SSO)? If not using native and you want to connect the BI Publisher then you need also to use that authentication there.
The migration itself is pretty easy if you take care that all sessions are closed (no users or unclosed primavera sessions settings on that instance, stop all Applications, interfaces or Services connected to the instance. Cleanup your refrdel_deletes, logical_deletes and (if used before), extended Schema tables.
Then you can migrate with dbsetup, use additional Service Packs and Fixpacks (actually Service Pack 1) on the instances and then you can connect them into the environment by adding it to the P6 Configuration.
I mentioned you don't want to put all data into one final PMDB-Instance.

Reports tab in web service missing even with permissions granted

I cannot see the reports tab in the webservice interface, I have been granted the permisions to access the module but still it is not displayed. Does anyone know what the solution is???

Are you talking about the reports tab in P6 EPPM (web Access)? P6 release 8 onwards the reports tab is added when you install and link the BI with P6. Otherwise there is no Reports tab is avilable in P6 r8 onwards. Have you installed BI or any other reporting tools for reporting purpose?

Error installing P6 Reporting Database 3.0

I am a relative noob when it comes to Oracle applications. And my customer has allowed their Oracle support contract to expire, which makes things so very easy....
I currently have EPPM 8.2 w/Weblogic and OBIEE installed and functional...11.1.1.5....on 2008 R2, with a Solaris backend. I am attempting to install and configure the P6 Reporting Database 3.0. I'm running into errors when running the staretl.bat process for the first time- I believe what is happening is it is trying to pull data into the Star database. It generates the following error:

I can view those scripts that are referenced, but they don't mean much to me. The info I've posted is from the log files, so you can see how useless it is....when I spool and run one of them individually, to see what the exact errors are, here is what I get:

I don't pretend to know what the error means, or how I might correct it. Anyone have an idea of where I should start looking?

I have the same issue, but instead of "Location_ID" it claims that the problem is with "LASTUPDATEDATEX" (ORA-00904: invalid identifier). Oracle DB version is 11g, all of the instances (EPPM, ODS, STAR) are hosted on the same server, but are separate instances.
How does the Multimedia component influence this bug?
BTW: Reporting DB version is 3.1 - staretl process has 48 instead of 28 in 3.0 steps.

Primavera p6 EPPM R8.2

Does any one had success in installing the primavera p6 analytics r8.2 version on obiee 11g? Do we need to install on the server where OBIEE is installed or on a separate server?? Any docs or links would be helpful.

Hi,
No ETL is needed for reporting with BI Publisher in Primavera. From version r8.1 reporting using BI publisher in P6 EPPM is near real-time reporting. BI Publisher access the P6 Extended Schema Views directly and does not wait for any ETL to run. Once the BI Publisher is installed and linked with P6 EPPM you can see the Reports tab is available in EPPM. You need to have proper access to BI Publisher and P6 Reports module to access those reports in the Reports tab. The reports which are prepared in BI Publisher are then available in P6 EPPM. There are certain thing you need to configure to achieve the same. You can refer to the P6 Administrator's guide which is available in the link given below:

Viewing EPPM P6 8.3 Schedules

Hi all,
I am a software developer.I have just started at a new company and they are using EPPM P6 8.3.
My requirement is I want to be able to view live (or nightly snapshots of) Schedules from a hyperlink. I know on other platforms that are similar to P6 the following might be a solution:
1) A webpage that shows the schedule - (the solution being the hyperlink points to the webpage)
2) Some process that nightly snapshots all the schedules into pdf format (or the like) and the pdfs on a fileserver (the solution being the hyperlink points to the created pdf)
Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Phil,
You are correct in your statement BI Publisher is a reporting tool similar to other reporting platform. It is in fact very powerful tool when it comes to reporting P6 data. Assuming you have license for BI Publisher, it depends on expertise of the developer to extract data from P6 reporting database and present it correctly in the required format (PDF, DOC, XLS among others).
So the answer is "YES" it can be used to extract P6 schedule. You may give it a try or check with any third party consultants for this.

Creating tablespaces for Reporting DB P6R8 - help!

I am trying to follow the instructions in the P6R8 Reporting Database Admin Guide to create the STAGE and ODS tablespaces needed by the P6R8 reporting database app. The document says:
1) Connect to the P6 Reporting Database Stage instance with a user that has create tablespace privileges.
2) Enter the following to create the Stage tablespaces (where <path> is the location of the Stage instance):
Create tablespace stage_dat1 Datafile '<path>:\ stage_dat1.dbf' Size 32m Autoextend on Extent management local uniform 1M;
3) Set the db_block size to the following:
db_block size = 32k
Step 1 is OK; Step 2 is OK. What do I do for Step 3? Where is this set and what command do I use?
I am building a test environment and will only be using the sample data shipped with EPPM, and I'm not worried about performance as this is just a proof of concept so I am using Oracle XE. This should (just - I hope) hold the data without hitting the 4GB limit, but does not have the full admin front end that a full 10g instance has, so if I have to tweak parameters then I need to know which file to edit.
All suggestions welcome!

It is best that you check the Oracle Database documentation on the DB_BLOCK_SIZE parameter to get all details.
I have just ignored to change this setting and it is working fine for my test environment.

Need help on P6 v8.1 Progress Reporter installation / configuration issue

Successfully installed P6 EPPM v8.1 on Win 2k8 ent. for evaluation. However, upon completion of the progress reporter configuration an internal server is encountered.
I can successfully navigate to https://<ip>/pr page. However, when you click on the "Launch P6 Progress Reporter" link, the error 500 is presented

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The setDomainEnv changes outlined in the administrators manual have been completed.
The database configuration has been completed and the server was restarted. (https://<ip>/pr/admin/configuration) however a couple of observations:
If I change the configuration home location the configuration does NOT stick, that is when I log back in to the pr admin configuration page I would expect to be able navigate to other tabs (i.e. connection pool, authentication, logging) but I cannot. ONLY upon accepting the default configuration home, does this take and the other tabs are presented after the restart.
Additionally, if I select to increase the logging through the admin configuration screen, and click save, then the same error 500 page is presented (see above).
Have also tried to use the http://<ip>/pr/applet?lang=en no success.

Reports Tab in iProcurement

I added a tab in iProcurement to allow users to submit a report via a sswa jsp function. When they click on the tab, it lists the name of the report. This works perfectly. They go through the steps to submit the report and when they submit, it takes them to their concurrent manager queue. We have a request to also provide a link to the concurrent manager queue at the beginning because otherwise, they have to submit a new report to see their earlier requests. Is there a way to add a "view requests" button on the same page? Hope that makes sense.

Re: Column is not getting displayed in the BI report

Hello Gurus,
I have developed a BI report with more number of parameters.
Case 1:
When i run my report , I am able to see data for particular condition but one column doesn't show any thing. All the rows in the column are blank.
Case 2
I tried to put the blank column as parameter, The Program works with out displaying that column data.
I am not sure where it is going wrong. I tried running the code in toad and i am able to see the data.
I have checked the code, Parameter description, length, Template and data definition.

check ur template once by loading the xml data...
check that column form field that matches with the xml tag or not..
