EPrint awful print quality

I'm using the HP ePrint app for Android on Asus TF300T with
HP LaserJet Pro 100 color MFP M175nw
and, even with "high quality" option set, I'm not able to print a decent PDF. Here's the quality difference between ePrint app (on the left) and the same file printed trough Google Cloud Print (on the right) with the same device. The paper on the left is barely readable...thank's for any help!

  • Print quality settings

    Hi,
when I print from my ipad or ePrint, I cannot control the print quality settings. I want them to be only black and draft quality, which I can manually apply and set as default when I print from my Mac. How do I get that setting to also apply for ePrint and printing from mobile devices?
    Thanks,

Hi there, the degree of control you have on print settings when printing from a mobile device depends on the method you are using to print and to some extent the content you're trying to print. I would recommend you use the ePrint mobile print app which you can download from iTunes. Using this app allows you set print settings including Draft and Normal modes as well as selecting Grayscale instead of colour. These options are available when you print web pages, documents or emails from within the app. If you print photos they will print in colour and default to photo media.
If you send emails with file attachments to the printers email address you have no control over print settings. Similarly using AirPrint does not all ow you much control over print settings.
Hope this information helps and post back with any more questions.

  • Keep hp 6700 in good shape: automatic print quality diagnostic page every week?

    Hi all,
I've recently bought the HP Officejet 6700 Premium, and I'm concerned about keeping it in good condition, since I had to replace my previous canon printer because of a stuck printhead (the photo black one, I didn't used it for a long time).
Since I don't print much (but I'm using the ADF scanner a lot), and other family members prints sporadically, most of the time in black and white, I would like to setup an the printer to automatically print a diagnostic page every week to make sure everything is alright.
Using eprint, IFTTT and google calendar I could automatically send a file to print (I already set up the printer to wake up a few minutes before the calendar event) with black and color bars (someone suggest to print the google homepage since it has many colors but uses little ink).
Is there any chance I can directly print the print quality diagnostic page (so I can fully diagnose a problem if it occurs)?
    Thanks for the attention
    Cheers from Italy!

    Hey,
To clarify for you and answer your new questions on the printers self maintenance.
The maintenance cycle occurs randomly. It will occur after any power up, after print jobs(not every one) and any time it "think's" printhead health is poor. As mentioned above the printer to does have to be powered on for this to occur.
You can if you'd like still print off the odd test page just to check, once a month would be adaquet.
If you want to be saving power and are turning it off, then you would want it to be at least powering on and running the automated service that occurs weekly.
I hope this clarifies everything for you. Thanks for your posts.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830 print quality

I have a brand new HP Officejet Pro 6830, I set it up following the instructions and it was working fine for a few days. Then I started getting error messages about the printhead, and messages telling me that I had installed genuine recycled HP ink cartridges and did I want to buy nbew genuine ones. Now I am no longer getting error messages but the print quality is awful, half of it not printing properly. Any suggestions gratefully received. I have tried the sum of my knowledge - switching it off and back on again! Thanks.

  • Awful prints and rapid ink use

Hi I have an HP 8150 and have recently moved from PC to iMac. Print quality is poor and has got worse just recently, the colour's off, it's dull and often blotchy with horizontal lines through all prints.  Worse of all Im getting this awful quality and using ink very rapidly.  I'm onlly managing about 12 A4 colour print-outs to a £28 cartridge before it runs out.
I am not very techy  so need simple intructions please - and I have an important interview and need prints outs PDQ! Help! Thanks in advance.

    Hello Doblinski,
I see that when printing you're getting poor output with the printer and your iMac. I will try and help you with this.
To attempt to correct the issue you're having, I was able to pull up some documents that may be helpful to you.
    Wrong Colors
    Ink Smears or Streaks
Images are Fuzzy, Blurry, Jagged, or Grainy
Some of what the documents cover may be the same or similar. I recommend following them in the order listed, and doing all steps between the documents, even if you end up repeating one (outside of replacing cartridges). Between them, it covers the majority of would could be causing the output issue your seeing.
I hope that's able to help you out, thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • HP Photosmart 5520 print quality issues - Not printing black

    Hi,
I bought a HP 5520 printer. I used it once and printed less than 10 photos and it was great the quality was superb.
I went to use it for the second time and the print quality was terrible. There is no problem with the printer responding to comannds it tries to print just it is awful quality.
I used the trouble shooting guide that HP have posted on line. I went through every step multiple times - I am using the correct paper, Genuine HP cartridges.
I got to the step where you run the Print Quality Diagnostic Report and there is NO Black present, Yellow is faint and the other colours have horizontal streaks.
I ran multiple print head cleans and no change.
I bought brand new HP print cartridges and still no change also ran multiple print head cleans and Print Quality Diagnostic Reports but still the same.
I tried to phone HP technical support but as I am at work just now and not with the printer they would not put me through to a technician
They told me to try and get an online Chat with a technician - well a few attempts and hours later still no response from them
Has anybody got any help on this issues please?
    Chris

    Hi,
Yes it is in Warranty. It is virtually brand new.
After I last posted I got through to the online chat support and was sent an email with options to 'troubleshoot' which I had already done with no success.
I was also given a link to try to update the printer firmware - which I will try when I get home from work.
I will see if that makes any difference but am sceptical as the printer worked fine the first time round but hasn't worked since and nothing has changed on it.
    Chris.

How does iPhoto play a part in this?  You're in the iPhoto forum.  Shouldn't you be asking your question in the iPhone forum?  I'll ask the powers to be to move you question to the iPhone forum.

  • Print quality poor when exporting tiff from Ai

I recently sent an Illustrator file to FedEx Office to be printed and it just didn't look great. What do I need to fix (other than getting a real printing company! ) in order to get a higher print quality?
    This is what I did:
Created a file in Illustrator then exported it as a tiff. (I needed it cropped and didn't like what I got by cropping it using the Pathfinder steps/options.)
Placed the tiff file in a new Illustrator file.
    Printed it as a pdf.
The pdf version of my illustration was horrid, so I had them print it from the Illustrator file. It was considerably better, but still had diagonal stripes (gradient) and vertical stripes (printing).
How can I remedy this problem?

    Clipping Mask
Draw a closed path over the objects you want to maswk or crop, in this case probably a rectangle using the rectangle tool.
then select all the objects and the shape to be used as a mask.
    then go to Object>Clipping Mask>Make
BTW Scott's answer shouldbe marked as the answer.

  • Print quality terrible, may not be the printer - how can I fix it?

I've been cleaning and replacing cartridges in my printer lots but no improvement of print quality, in fact a deteriation so that now only magenta and a tiny bit of black print. I just used someone else's printer and same problem (different colour error though) but printed using their computer and the printer is fine. Could there be something I need to change in my mac rather than from the printer to solve this?
I have a MacBook Pro 13" and my printer is HP 8600dn, which has worked fine for 2 years.
The second printer which I can't print on but does work from another computer is the Epson Stylus SX420W.
I've just put new HP cartridges in and it's claiming to have finished the yellow despite me not seeing any yellow being printed.
Can anyone help?? This is driving me crazy and I really need my printer! Thanks, Eve

There are alterate drivers in OS X for each of those printers. Try Generic PCL 6 for the HP and the Gutenprint driver for the Epson. - in other words, add the printer again, but select the alternate driver.

  • Print quality problems with bluetooth Canon ip90 printer?

I've had this problem on prior PBs and the canon website is decidely NOT helpful so here goes....
I have a pixma ip90v printer with a bluetooth adaptor added to my MBook. It prints fine and I had no problems adding it to my new computer (it was originally used on a PBG4 and I had the same problem which is...) - every now and then the print quality goes to a light purple as if it's trying to save memory. Has anyone else encountered something like this?

Try resetting the printing system http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14141
You'll have to reinstall your printer after the reset.

  • Print Quality HP Photosmart 5510

I have a HP Photosmart 5510 operating on Windows XP OS. The printing has started to print crooked on the page no matter if it's a print, copy or scan. I did a Print Quality Diagnostic Report and the Pen Alignment Status was a:Fail.
I then printed an alignment page but the scanner would not recognise it.
Any ideas what is causing this?

  • Print Quality Question

When using the J6400 series there are several ways to set print quality....  There is the button on the front of the machine as well as the printing shortcuts that show up under preferences when you click on print.  Which selection over-rides the other and takes priority?  I have several customized shortcuts that use fast-draft and black cartridge only.  I'm hoping the button on the machine that always defaults to mid-level quality doesn't take priority over my customized settings.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
AppleWorks changes the resolution of all graphic formats except PICT to 72 dpi. There are a couple of things you can do improve the print quality of images.
    1. Turn on Fractional Character widths in Preferences > General > Topic: Text. This is a text setting, but it does improve the print quality of images.
Open the image in Preview (32-bit) or GraphicConverter & Save As... a PICT to use in AppleWorks. PICT is generally the best format to use for inserting or pasting into AppleWorks.

  • Print quality problem with Officejet Pro K5400

I purchased the above printer on August 8th of this year and I have really liked it until now. The print quality has gone to ----! I have done a chat with a technician, replaced any of the cartridges that might be low and it is worse than ever. Two thirds of the page will print  okay and then the last third is either blank or very poor quality. I have tried changing the print quality from draft to best and it doesn't help. What  recourse do I have? I can't find a real person to talk to.
Does anyone out there have an answer?

I purchased my Pro K5400 in May 2008.  In the beginning it was loud (still is) but the printing was beautiful.  Over the last three months the color printing is really bad.  I've replaced the cartridges with only HP ink, I've aligned printheads, I've cleaned printheads, I've calibrated the linefeed.  The diagnostic suggests I replace the printheads.  Really?  After less than a year?  It also sporadically feeds several pages at once.  And, I do a lot of printing of claim forms, it arbitrarily expands the left margin.  Oh, it also jams often.  Again, I believe these last two are due to a feeding problem.  I sent an online question and got answers back in somewhat broken English that seem hooked on just replacing the ink and cleaning the printheads.  Also, they gave me directions on how to clear a jam.  This I know as I clear jams all the time in this printer.  They are unable (perhaps due to language barrier) to answer the feeding/jamming problems.  I really see this as just a very bad quality printer.  I've owned other HPs and never had problems like this.  What is the best way to contact someone in the United States about this printer?

  • Print quality.

    HI all.
Is there any way to improve print quality on iPad?
The same photo on PC prints well via Phtoshop Elements to HP Photosmart AirPrint printer.
From the iPad 4, the colours are harsh and unnatural, and quality is generally poor.
    Same problem on iPad 2.

Hello @Strander and welcome to the HP Forums
Just to clarify, are you getting these lines when printing from the Mac or when making a Copy/doing a Scan?
If it's when you're printing, please try the steps within this Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One and Deskjet Ink Advantage 4510 e-All... document and it should help get rid of anything unwanted.
If the lines are happening when Copying or Scanning, please get a paper towel with some water (or glass cleaner like Windex) and wipe down the glass. If you're not really sure where to focus your cleaning, just line the page up with the glass and see where the lines are and focus your cleaning there
Let me know how this goes for you!

  • Print quality using iphoto

How can I change the print quality when printing photos through iphoto on my iMac? I am running OSX 10.7.2 I have installed my printer with the latest downloaded drivers etc. The printer is a HP photosmart 5510. I have gone into system preferences, then print and scan. From here I can see my printer but can't see anyway of changing the print quality. Similarly, if I go into print settings via iPhoto I have the same problem. I have been able to change the quality in Safari but can't see how to create a default setting for photo printing at the highest quality

    Hello:
One way of assuring high quality would be to export the photo to the desktop (at highest quality) and then print from there.
In my own case, I find that when I occasionally print a photo from iPhoto, the quality is quite good.
