EPrint images on A4 paper (override photo tray)

The technical specs for ePrint clearly state that it should be possible to override the photo tray when printing images:
(see here):
Image files that are submitted as attachments print by default on 101.6 x 152.4 mm (4 x 6 in) photo paper from the photo tray. The product owner can select a different paper tray from the product control panel.
I have not found anywhere that I can do this on my HP PhotoSmart Plus B210
Can anyone help? Since it's Expert's Day I'm hoping someone in the know can point out if this is my oversight or HP's

It seems that the only solution is to use a non-HP printer...
HP have ignored this same question repeatedly on the forums, despite the clear statement in the product support docs that says this should be possible.
I'd like to open a support call and get it resolved once and for all, but frankly I don't have the time to waste in listening to a non-native english speaker treat me like an idiot for 20 minutes before escalating the call to someone who knows what they're talking about and then spend ages going through every permeation of software and printer settings.
If anyone else manages to muster the will to do this, please post the outcome back here - as far as I'm concerned, this is still an issue.

    Oufnac,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
See if something here will work for you:
Find / Navigate to the photo you wish to print > Right-Click on the file > Open with "Windows Photo Viewer" >
Along the top ribbon, click Print > then Print again >>
The little Print Pictures option opens >>
Check the Printer, Paper Size, Quality, and Paper Type tabs -- make sure each selection matches your intent >
Under the photo:  Check / Select Copies of each picture and Fit picture to frame >
Down in the lower right corner, Click Options >
The little Print Settings option opens > Click Printer Properties >
Select tab Paper/Quality > Check / Select intended options in Tray Selection items:
    Paper Source >> Photo Tray
    Paper Size      >> 4x6in
Media               >> HP Advanced Photo Papers >>
    Click OK to Exit
Back on the Print Pictures option window > Click Print (bottom right)
In short, the paper selection is made within Print Options > Paper/Quality
Also, depending on how you are selecting the print: Printer Properties > Source
    Click the Kudos Thumbs-Up!
It is a nice way to say “Thank You" for the help.
Although I strive to reflect HP's best practices, I do not work for HP.

  • How do I select main input tray to print photo over ePrint and not photo tray?

when I send a picture from my Iphone the printer always wants to take paper from the photo tray ,despite that it's set up to take paper from the main tray.

    Hey AndreBielser!
Unfortunately there isn't a way to select the paper tray through ePrint at this time. Photos will always try to print to the photo tray. The only way I have seen that you can get around this is by including the photo in the body of the message instead of as an attachment. I will definitely pass on the information that this is something you are looking for as a feature of ePrint though!
    Hope this helps!

  • EPrint of photo Forces use of photo tray - I just want main tray

Whenever I try to ePrint a JPG file from my iPad or iPhone the printer always wants to use the photo tray and I don't see a way in preferences to deselect this options. On the printer preferences under External Device Printing I have selected main tray but this does not seem to make a difference.
I think this is s serious deficiency since I often just want a quick print on regular paper and not have to be forced into using an expensive photo tray paper.
    Any suggestions, comments?

    Hi shiflerg,
I’m sorry to hear you are having problems printing from your Samsung tablet to your Photosmart C309g printer.
I have included several documents about printing from your Android tablet.  The HP Printer Control app replaced the HP All-in-one Printer app.  By your post I'm not sure if you still have the HP ePrint app still installed as the printing goes through the ePrint app to print. If it's has been uninstalled that would explain why you are unable to access the settings.

  • How may I print out a picture from paper and not the photo tray?

How may I print out a picture from paper and not the photo tray?

From paper?  Do you have a digital image of it on your iPhone?
"Photo tray"?  What do you mean here?  The iPhone does not have a photo tray.  Printers have trays.

  • EPrint prints photo using my main tray and not the photo tray

    Hello,
Thanks for reviewing my question.  I just bought the HP Photosmart C410 printer and setup the ePrint.  When I print a photo from my iPhone it prints on the photo on the 8.5 x 11 paper instead of the photo tray.  What gives?
    Many Thanks
    Peter

    Hey PDonstant,
    1. You can go into the setup menu on the printer and go into preferences. In preferences you can go to Device Printer Tray Select and choose prompt for tray. This will give you the option to print to photo paper or Legal size.
    2. You can try downloading the HP ePrint Home & Biz app and printing from there. You have the option to select the paper size and type from the app.

  • Photosmart C410: How do I associate a custom paper size with the photo tray?

Our Photosmart 3310 recently broke down and I purchased a C410 to replace it.  I sell a small item online that I ship in 3 5/8 x 6 1/2 envelopes.  With the 3310, I had figured out a way to print the envelopes from the photo tray.  While Word 2007 allows me to select the photo tray, the printer would not print from there until I created a custom paper size in the printer preferences dialog box.
One of the reasons I got the C410 was for the photo tray.  It's a real pain to have to swap out the regular paper and stick in one evelope every time I want to print another envelope.  Well, unfortunately, that's what I've been doing.  I select the photo tray in Word, but the printer goes right ahead and prints from the main tray.  I had forgotten what I did to make it work on the 3310, so I experimented with that printer's drivers until I figured it out.
My problem is that the software interface for the C410 is different than that for the 3310.  I can't figure out how to associate a custom paper size with the photo tray.  To test my theory this evening, I told Word that my envelope size was 5 x 7.  The printer didn't hesitate to take an envelope from the photo tray.  Of course the return address went into a dark void because the envelope is not 5 x 7.
The difference between the two interfaces is that the 3310 has both printing shortcuts as well as "Print Task Quick Sets."  The C410 only has printing shortcuts.
If anyone can help me, I'll be very grateful!  I've probably spent hours trying to get this figured out, and I have no idea what to do.

    Hi,
Which Microsoft product (application) are you using ? Printer supports the following custom sizes:
From ADF: Custom-sized media (ADF) between 127 to 216 mm wide and 241 to 305 mm long (5 to 8.5 inches wide and 9.5 to 12 inches long)
From input tray: Custom-sized media between 76.2 to 216 mm wide and 101 to 762 mm long (3 to 8.5 inches wide and 4 to 30 inches long)
You need to select right custom size from the application.
    Regards.

  • How can I print from my ipad to the plain paper tray not the photo tray?

    I have a new
    HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One Printer - B209a
and an ipad on my showroom floor.
I let my customers use the ipad to browse through photos of items that are not on display, then print some of the photos. Right now the print job always goes to the photo tray - but I want it to print on plain letter size paper.  If there is no photo paper in the tray, the print job fails with an out of paper error.
Is there a way to get this printer to print photos from the ipad photos app onto the standard paper tray?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.
    Richard

Photos will always print from the photo tray, if the printer has one. This cannot be configured by the user currently.

  • HP Photosmart C5180 Will no longer feed 8x11 Photo paper from main tray

My C5180 all in one will no longer feed 8x11 photo paper from main tray.  Rollers slip and will not pull paper in. Any suggestions?

    Hi @583seve
I see youa re having some difficulty with your Photosmart C5180. The following document addresses both out of paper messages and issues with paper pick; 'Out of Paper' Error Message Displays and the Product Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper.
If the issue persists, you might consider trying the steps in a paper jam document. Although you may not be experiencing a paper jam, the steps in this document may be all that is left to try; 'Clear paper jam, then press OK' Error Message Displays on the Control Panel.
I hope this helps, but if after all your efforts the issue remains, I suggest calling HP. They may be able to offer you a discount on a newer model as part of a trade in trade up option. If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

  • HP Photosmart 3210 installed on my iMac But is showing as  but is showing as HP Color Laserjet 2800 series PS which means I no longer have access to all the paper options especially the photo tray

I have recently purchased an iMac running Lion. The HP Photosmart 3210 printer was connected through the network and I was happy that it recognised the printer - good old Mac's!!
However, when I tried to print some of my photos from the photo tray, the option was not available and when I looked at the printer properties, it was showing as a HP Color LaserJet 2800 Series PS which does not have all the paper options I had before. Reinstalling the software from HP did not make any difference - do I now have to buy a new printer as well???

I suggest opening the Print & Scan System Preferences, then highlight your HP Photosmart printer in the printers list and delete it by pressing the minus sign. Now, re-add the printer by clicking on the plus sign and select the printer. Make sure that the 'Print Using:' pull down aut selects the correct driver for your printer. If it doesn't, pull down the list and manually select the correct driver using the 'Select Printer Software' option. Hopefully that will resolve your issue.

  • HP Photosmart Plus B209 - will not print photos - tray is not picking up the paper

The printer will not grab the photo paper when I attempt to print a picture.  It works just fine when printing other things, such as text from WORD or something from the internet.  Photo paper says "single sheet feed" on it, so I place one sheet in the tray.
Any ideas?  Am I doing something incorrectly?  Thanks

    Hi hgr7,
I understand that you are having an issue with the photo tray picking up the paper. I will try my best to help you with this problem. In this document for The All-in-One Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper From the Photo Tray there are several steps to resolve this issue.
I hope this helps, let me know.

  • PAPER TRAY SUCKS. CANNOT PRINT OUT PHOTOS, TRAY ONLY ACCEPTS PAPER FROM BOTTOM TRAY. GRRRR.

My BRAND NEW (One week from delivery) no longer prints out photos.  It printed out photos several times but 3 days' ago it stopped.
The paper tray is malfunctioning.  Each time I try to print out a photo (remember, it's been done several times until a few days' ago) THE TRAY WILL NOT ACCEPT PAPER FROM THE TOP TRAY!!
SELECTED PHOTOS PRINT OUT ON PAPER FROM BOTTOM TRAY ONLY!!   MY INK AND PAPER IS BEING WASTED AND SEVERAL OTHER POSTERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE HP 6520!
Is one of those infamous 2-hr. long marathon phone calls to Tech Support in India the ONLY way one can sensibly have an HP issue resolved?
    This is ridiculous!

  • When i select print photo 4x6 it prints on 10 x11 paper. there photo paper in tray

i choose 4x6 photo on computer and hit print. it comes out on regular paper 10x11

    Hi
    What are you printing from?
    Mac / Windows?
    What program?
If your on windows please check your printing preferences to ensure its set to the photo paper and the paper size
also ensure you only have the photo paper in the tray and it isnt just sitting on the top of the plain paper (you'd be suprised at how many people do this)
And that the photo paper is facing glossy side down.
    Hope this helps!
