EPRTRANS - PR items release strategy

Hi gurus,
I'm working in SRM 5.0, ECS, backend ECC 6.0.
I need to set up the 'Plan Driven Procurement scenario'.
In ECC I created entries in V_T160EX and V_T160PR and I have mantained TBE11 and TBE31 accordingly to SAP note 656597.
I used ME51N to create a purchase requisition (without items release strategy) which is getting copied to EPRTRANS table.
A purchase requisitions (with items release strategy) is getting copied to EPRTRANS table when I Save the PR?
or when I release the single items?

It is not passible to insert purchase requsitions into the table EPRTRANS when I choose e.g.a material group which
has been declared as a relevant criteria for release strategy. How can this problem be achived ?

PO and SchdAgreem Release Strategy at Item Level

Hello!!
I have the request to setup a the release strategy for the PO and Schedule agreements at line item level....
as far I know for PurReqs is possible to do that... but for PO and SAs it is only at header level...
Do you know if is possible to do that in configuration??

Release strategy for PO & SA is only at Header level, since these documents are external purchase documents.
But, PR is internal purchase document and release strategy is possible at both item and header level.
i think, it is not possible to do release strategy at item level for PO & SA as you said,

I have a very important question for myself.
I have a purchase order with only one item.
I have set this item to locked.
Release strategy works without problems.
Is this situation correct?
I don't understand it but maybe the release strategy works normally too....

Yes, if a release strategy is applied to a PO, then even if you block / delete an item, it will still have the release strategy.
This is standard behaviour, because you can later remove the deletion indicator or unblock the PO, whence the PO will again have to go through the Release Procedure.

PR Item Level Release WF not working after Release Strategy change

Hi Experts,
           I did PR item Level Release Standard Work flow and it was working fine now due to client requirement we changed the release strategy and now when the PR workflow triggers it gives the Below mentioned error.
I really don't understand y after changing the release strategy workflow is not working and giving the following error.
Even if i restart the workflow in SWPR the same error is occuring.

please set a breakpoint at function module
ME_REL_GET_RESPONSIBLE
and see what happends in section
    CASE t16fc-frgwf.
* keine Ermittlung
      WHEN space.
        RAISE nobody_found.
* Ermittlung über T16fW
      WHEN '1'.
If using the T16FW-table, it should go to '1', otherwise it may that a user exit under '9' is used. So please check this.

PO Release Strategy not changed after deletion of few line items with less

Subject : PO Release Strategy not changed after deletion of few line items with less Total PO
Dear Friends
We have issue with PO Release strategy. We have created the PO. with release strategy with multiple approvers. After approval of first approval manager , one of the PO line item got deleted and Total PO value is reduced . The new PO value should have changed the PO release strategy. But it is not changed. Old release strategy only showing in the PO which is wrong.
Details of the PO
PO no 4500000123 with 5 line items Total PO value : 100,000 USD Release strategy : AB
PO line item 5 deleted. Now total PO value changed to 50,000 USD and the PO release strategy should have been changed to AA but not changed. Still showing PO release strategy AB only.
Are there any OSS notes available to correct his bug.

Hi,
release indicators change it to 4.It may works. Please explore to all 6 indicators..........
i.e,
1-cannot be changed
2-changable,no new determination of strategy
3-changable,new release in case of strategy
4-changable,new release in case of strategy or value change
5-changable,new release if new strategy/outputted
6-changable,new release if new strategy or value changed/ outputted......
And check Characteristic description and value in Classification of Release strategies ........

Item wise release strategy

Hi Experts,
I made item wise release strategy and used material group in class ,however when add this CEBAN-MATKL it doesn't find release strategy when remove this release strategy is working is it need to add something into material master data ?Need your advice

create release class, FRG_EBAN is available in system
create release characterisitics .. here what ever name you give, you have to make it 'reference to table CEBAN' and corresponding CEBAN field , in additional data
create a release group and attach the release class created
create release codes, and while doing it you have to specify for which release group it is valid
create release indicator , here specify the changeability
create release strategy with release codes, release prerequisites, release statuses etc
if you are transporting this, in the operational client, using CL24N assign char values for each characterisitcs of release strategy. ( you need not assign char value when that characterisitic is not present int he document e.g.if account assignment is a char, then for release strategy for document without account assignment should not have any value for that char)
if you ensure this much your release strategy should work ok

Hi,
in this case system is NOT able to find the release startegy.
Please take care of the following explanation (see note 365604)
o For OVERALL RELEASE (purchase order and purchase requisition) the
   item fields such as Plant and Material Group will be aggregated
   to header level.
   For example you use Plant/material group
as one of your characteristics. If all
items do not belong to the same plant/material group
then
*******the relase strategy will not be found***********
unless you have maintained a blank value as one
of your allowed values for the characteristic Plant/material group
. If all items
belong to the same plant7material group
then that plant is aggregated to the
header; if one or more is different then a blank is aggregated to
the header.
If you use an overall release strategy all
characteristics which you have defined in the customizing (CEKKO-MATKL
must have the same value. If one item has material class x and the
other y the system does not know with which material class it should
look for a release strategy. Now the system sets the material class
to 'blank' and tries to find a release strategy. If you do not have
defined a blank entry in the customizing (Transaction: OMGS
: OLME >release procedure for PO > rel. strategy ) the
system won't find a release strategy.
you need
to add a blank value to your allowed characteristic values in your
release strategy. To do this you can define a blank value in your
characteristic (CT04). On the values screen leave the char.value
blank and add a description and save. Now in OMGS you can select
this value as an allowed value for the characteristic.
(Example:
To avoid this you can do the following:
- go into transaction CT04
- enter the characteristic 'CEKKO-MATKL'
- click on the tab 'values'
- set a flag in 'additional values'
- in the column 'Char. value' do not enter anything
- in the column 'Description' enter a text like 'no material class'
- save this setting
Now
- go into transaction OMGS -> button 'release strategy'
-> button 'classification'
- double click on CEKKO-MATKL' and set a flag in 'no material class' )

We are facing a problem. our user deleting the line item of a P.O and this is routed through release strategy. Is there any configuration that , any deleted item in P.O can by pass release strategy. Shall be grateful, if you could kindly urgently help me,

Thanks ....I have seen the structure for the PO release.I have gone thouogh the parameters of the function module of the user exit...But to me it is not clear how to incorporate the Deletion indicator of the PO item in the code...

Item category control the release strategy?

Hi,
Currently the purchase of a material needs to be released.
My issue is that as soon as I change the item category in the sales order,
the material does not need to be released.

Hi Ketan,
You can set item category in the characteristic of a release strategy.
In your case, I guess the item category characteristic is already created. So you can just add the desire value into the characteristic.
Go to SPRO > IMG > Material Management > Purchasing > Purchase Requisition > Release Procedure > Procedure With Classification > Set Up Procedure With Classification > Release Strategies
Select the related release strategy, double click to view the detail. You will see there are 4 buttons in the bottom of the screen. Choose 'Classification' and enter you value of item category.

Processor of PR item level release strategy

Hi All,
I need to pass the Processor determined from an item level Purchase Requisition release strategy to a WF container. The event is RELEASESTEPCREATED in BUS2009. I have created an import element container called 'Processor' from ABAP dict. data type MEACTOR.
In the binding for the WF trigger RELEASESTEPCREATED I cannot bind the 'Processor' wf container to the Event Object.
What are the steps which I must follow to add the 'Processor' to the RELEASESTEPCREATED event?
The release strategy in SPRO for item level Purchase Req release is complete and the Set-up procedure for Workflow is complete.

Hi,
Go to SWO1, enter BUS2009. Click on create subtype icon there. Then enter all fields as say ZBUS2009. Now save your new BO. then implement and release it , i.e;
Edit> Change Release Status> Object type> to implemented. Again Edit> Change Release Status> Object type> to Released. Then go to events in this objects. Click on event RELEASESTEPCREATED. Then click on event parameter and create a event parameter.
Hope this solves your problem.
Don't forget to delegate ZBUS2009 with BUS2009 in SWO6.

Release strategy for PR with multiple item category

Hello,
I'm trying to create a global release strategy for a PR based on the item category. I have defined a caracteristic with different item categories (A and K).
If I create a PR with item category A, the correct strategy is triggered as well as for an PR with item category K. The problem is when I create a PR with 2 positions, one A and one K, there is no strategy triggered.
How can I change my settings that there is also a strategy triggered in this case ?

Solution is very small. Please maintain a blank entry too in the characteristics value. It will start working.

PR release strategy reset after change in quantity/inclusion of line item

If a user adds a line item or increases the quantity of an existing line item to a fully released purcahse requisition, then the system does not render the PR for reapproval. Is there any way to configure SAP such that the release strategy resets if any of the above changes are made in a fully approved PR?

Hi,
the release strategy will ONLY be reset if one of the fields that are contained in your classification are changed.
For example
If you strategy is determined by Plant and value, if the plant or value doesn't change then the release strategy will not be affected.
So if you change qty and do not change value then the release strategy will not be reset. This is a basic limitation of the design.
But if you ARE changing one of the characteristic values of your strategy and you are saying that the release strategy is not being reset, then something else is wrong.

hi we cant have itemised release for PO
logically thinking PR can have multiple item and no fixed vendors and even not sure for placing order
so the realing person will decide for the item to be purchase so it has itemised relase
now in PO ,u will raise PO only when u have confirmed the purchase and the order will be for one vendor
so for ordering u have to relese the whole po,
or u can say u will create PO for all the items which have to procure so release will be for whole PO
go to spro>MM>Purchase Requisition>Release Procedure read the left side help for WITH and WITHOUT CLASSIFICATION

PO release strategy - blocking item

Hi SAPers,
I've put a PO release strategies on quantities and prices, my problem is that when i have many items in the PO, i don't see which one is blocking !!
do someone know about a way to identify easily (for users) the blocking item, or even a way to flag the blocking item

Hi,
The PO is always released at the header level and not at the item level as is the case with purchase requisitions .
If you have put quantity as the characteristic then it will add up the quanitity of all the line items and cheks whether release strategy is applicable.
