EPS not opening in right program anymore

...And then even I run into something unexpected:
I'm running Tiger with CS3. With that I save Photoshop CMYK images as EPS. Illustrator material that needs to be placed in a DTP program I save as CS3 EPS. Material that needs to be plotted on a vinylcutter (for carsigning) are saved as Illustrator3 EPS form Illustrator CS3. That always went flawlessly. Double-clicking on either of these 3 file-types opened them in the right program. Until now....
Now suddenly the EPS3 files are opened in Photoshop. Changing the program in which it should open with cmd-i into Illustrator results in all Photoshop EPS files to be opened in Illustrator as well. And vice versa. When changing Photoshop EPS to be opened in Photoshop results in all EPS3 files to be opened in Photoshop. CS3 EPS files are opend correctly, and seem not to be affected.
How can this be set right again?
Do i need to re-install the complete CS3 suite (with the risk of doing a lot of work without the desired result) or maybe there are helper programs to set this straight again?
Who has the solution or any suggestions to point me in the right direction?

an arcane set of rules apply about which one wins. It is pretty
unpredicable, and may take into account order of installation, which
one is newer, which one wrote the files, and other things. So there's
no guarantee that reinstalling would change things.
You might find that starting the program you require, and quitting the
other, sometimes helps.
I think you were just lucky that it previously worked as expected to
such an extent you were able to rely upon it.

This seems to be a common issue.
I've seen mixed posts on the net about the ES8000 working with the Apple Keyboard but from what I've seen the Apple mouse tends to fail the sync constantly.
Sad, I just bought a mouse to improve navigasting on the ES8000 and dissapointed that it doesn't sync. Maybe an issue with drivers on the TV.

It sounds like an issue of trying to run XI on VISTA. That combination does not work. Info on both the Acrobat full version (including sub-version) and OS would help. It might also be an issue of running 11.0.0 on a system that needs the updates to work.

There are companies that specialize in data retrieval but it's costly (probably cheaper to buy a new iPod) and more than likely as Allan said, your circuits are probably damaged beyond all hope of retrieving anything. It's worth calling Apple you maybe able to get a discount or a refurbished iPod. Can't hurt to ask, Good luck. (And in the future... no texting in the john.) Sorry, couldn't resist it.

I have rerun the applications install dvd, but it has not corrected the fault. When I try to open iphoto's I have an error message that says You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto.

the version you installed from the DVD is probably older than the version you used last with your library, so you need to update to the last version you used.
I have tried to update to the latest iphoto 11 but it wont download. Any answers please.
Where are you trying to download from? When you upgrade a version that is installed from the DVD, you need to update from the Software Update menu entry in the Apple-menu.
Also, iPhoto has to be called simply "iPhoto", not iPhoto '11 or something similar and to be installed in the Applications folder. Otherwise it will not be recognised by the updater.

(This applies to Win7 or Vista)
From the Start menu, click Computer.
In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
Click the View tab.
In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.
Click OK.
Navigate to the following location by either typing it into the address bar, copying and pasting it into the address bar, or clicking through the folder hierarchy listed: C:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
Right-click the SC Info.sidb file shown and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.

Restart the computer and open iTunes.

How do i cancel my iTunes Match subscription when iTunes will not open on my computer anymore?

I recently deleted some programs on my computer, several of which I probably shoudn't have, and no iTunes will not open or function at all on my computer. I do not wish to continue using iTunes as I have switched phones, therefore I do not want to be automatically resubscribed to iTunes Match when this subscription ends. The only way I see iTunes working again on my computer requires several hours of searching through .dll files, and a complete system restore as a last resort, but I really dont want to do that just to install a program I dont want to cancel a service I no longer need, then uninstall that program. Is there any way to do this through apple support, online, etc...? It seems so easy to do, I just dont see any options anywhere.

In order to cancel iTunes Match, you would need to do within iTunes. Try just creating a new user and then see if iTunes opens up so you can cancel it. I have provided other article that will give some troubleshooting steps to resolve your issues.

EPS not opening - error warnings

Hi there,
This isn't a problem with Illustrator - but I am hoping to work the problem out backwards, beginning with Illustrator.
I have been creating EPS' in a music notation program called Finale. Most EPS' work fine - they can be opened and edited in Illustrator. But some, when I use a particular musical technique (the guitar bend), simply will not open in Illustrator. I receive an error message saying "The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error".
I then ran a little script that automatically colours my EPS files and saves them as a PDF - when it came to the files with the guitar bend in them, I received a new error: Error8700: The operation was cancelled. Line: 8 --> app.open(myScores[j]);
Any idea what this error could be so I can work my way backwards and find out what the problem with the bend is? Thanks very much :)

Double tap the home button to bring up the multi-tasking screen. Find Spotify and swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the app to close it. Then reset the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and release. After the phone reboots, try logging in again.

Seems that you have to update Logic to the latest version (9.0.15) to get it to work in Lion.

Program not opening in right space

I have had a specific program assigned to open in space 2. It used to work fine, but suddenly it doesn't work quit right anymore. If start the program directly, it will just open in whatever space is open. But if I start it by opening a document from the program, it opens in space 2. I tried with other program, and it works fine for them, they open in the space assigned to them. But it just doesn't work for that specific program. Odd. I tried to remove it from spaces and adding it again, with no luck. Any ideas?

Adobe not opening audio files directly anymore.

Hi folks. I have a slight problem when opening up wav files in Audition. For some reason after udating Windows Media Player, it tried to take over as the default program to open WAV files. So, I went into add/remove programs and tried to reset Audition's settings to be the default player. No luck. So, I reinstalled Audition and made sure to click on every file that I wanted to Audition to associate with and still no luck. When I double click on a wave file it opens Audition but there is still no waveform to be displayed. If I want to open the file, I have to right click the file and choose open, or edit with Audition for it to open.The Audition icon is still the default icon however.
Could anyone give me some advice on how to fix this mildly annoying problem?

I hate software that takes over your computer when you install and Windoze doesn't make it easy to fix sometimes.
Anyhow, another place to try if you're on Vista or Win7 (not sure about earlier versions):
Click on the icon to get the Start Menu and, towards the bottom of the right hand column, you should find "Default Programms" between Control Panel and Help & Support. Click on the "Associate a File type or protocol with a programme" option.
After that loads, you should have a list of programme extensions--scroll down until you get .wav, (and anything else you want Audition as the default for) click it and click on the Change Programme button. Select Audition either from the shortcuts offered or by browsing--and hopefully this might do it.

Adobe reader does not open usage right enabled files in Ubntu 8.0.4

I have a series of pdf files with the usage right enabled in adobe acrobat.
When I try to open them in linux Ubuntu 8.0.4 the adobe windows flashes for a second and the disappears. I tried to run the command in a terminal but it doesn't give me any error or warning message. I am just wondering if any one else has been able to resolve this issue.

We have tried using the file you sent on multiple linux distributions with Linux Reader 8.1.2 but we're not able to replicate the issue you're facing. We've tried on Ubuntu 8.04 as well and haven't seen any issues.
Could you share more information, includign the version of the reader youre' trying to use (you can see that at Help > About Adobe Reader).
