Epson 2880 Print Paper Profiles

Hi Folks,
I just bought an Epson 2880 printer and also downloaded some Icc paper profiles for it from Epson. On install(double-clicking) on the zipped files all but one of them went through and install process, and now show up when I select printer profiles from within Photoshop CS4. The other just unzipped a file that was put into my downloads folder and says, "colorsync" on it. Where should this Icc profile be placed so it shows up properly in my CS4 profile selections?
Many thanks for any assistance.
Jim

John-Thanks, I thought that was where I should be putting them. After I wrote this note I put the icc profile into my color sync folder and it does show up from within PS 4 as it should.
Thanks again for your help.
Jim

  • Where do I enter a new print paper profile in LR4 (Mac)?

Have downloaded a revised print paper profile from Epson but don't know where to place it in LR4 so that it shows up with the other profiles available for choice.  Need help....

Install the profile via the operating system as per normal Mac procedure.
Go to the Print module>Print Jobs panel>Profile pulldown>Other…
Put a check mark next to any profile you wish Lightroom to have access to.

  • Where are printer paper profiles stored in Mavericks?

In previous versions of OS X, I could find where my printer paper profiles were stored. I have some test paper profiles that don't work and I want to delete them but I can't find them in Mavericks 10.9.2 I have done a search for their name but apparently they are hidden although they show up in Photoshop and the Printer dialog box. What and where is the folder I need to look in? Thanks for your help.

  • Printer/Paper profiles not showing up in Lightroom 1.3.1

I installed 2 new paper profiles from Red River over the weekend in XP Pro. Only 1 of them actually show up in lightroom to choose from. The one that can be selected works fine but I can't view the other one. I've tried uninstalled and reinstalling it. I can, however, see and select this profile in Photoshop CS and other applications. Lightroom seems to be the only one with problems. Does this point back to a red river problem or is lightroom picky about something I don't know?

I talked to LR today -- no help, told me to call Epson.
Epson advised me to go tp PRINT mode > RT menu > Print Job > Managed by Printer click this and choose other. Drop down menu appears and you can choose your profile. then back to print setting and the profile should show up there.
My profile did not show there -- I was advised that because I have Matte Black ink cartridge in the print that the Premium Luster will not show because PL will only print with Photo Black.
So I need to change the ink type and hopefully I will be able to print on the Prem Luster.
    ope this helps you.

  • Printer paper profiles

Photoshop Elements 7 and new computer. I can't find icc profiles for my Epson R200 printer and various epson papers on the Epson website. I downloaded the Vista driver Easy Print, but don't find any profiles. I had them on my old computer, but don't have access to them right now. Does anyone have any thoughts on where I can find them. I'm not being very successful with my printing.
It isn't that I don't see them on my screen. I can scroll down the list but don't see my usual paper choices.

    Sorry...I accidentally posted this again.

  • Adobe 2014.2.1  Windows versions 7.  Problems with Epson R3000  ICC paper profiles

I've recently added an Ilford paper profile to my Photoshop.  The profile appears in workspaces and I can set the workspace to that profile.  When I try to print the profile appears when I set Photoshop handles colour management, but when I go to Printer Settings...... I only see Epson paper profiles.  Why can't I seet the Ilford profile to select it?

OK, so 24hrs later and problem solved.. I moved the printer and connected it directly to the i5 running 10.6.2, then downloaded the latest driver using software update. Everything is fine, and I've got all those options back for setting paper type, quality etc, Great!
Trouble is, now the old iMac Intel 24" wont print to the printer on the network.....

  • Epson 2880 printer to Airport Extreme

I need help configuring an Epson SP 2880 printer to my airport extreme (v7.4.1), using Epson print driver v6.20. If I go to the Epson printer driver and click on print utility, it does not see the printer. I searched for similar issues, but could not find the thread. thanks, charlie

Welcome to the discussions forum charlierubin.
I don't think you'll find the printer in Epson's utility until you install it from System Preferences > Print & Fax. The Extreme must also recognize there's a printer connected to it. Once that's done, you might to be able to run Epson's utility:
Excerpt from Apple's Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule:
Note: AirPort Base Station and Time Capsule printer sharing is for printing only, not for printer utilities or other special features that may require a direct proprietary connection.

  • Unable to install Epson ICC printer profiles in Lion (access privileges message)

I upgraded to Lion and cannot install Epson ICC printer profiles. When I try to install, the installation is halted with the message that I do not have enough access privileges for this installation. Yes, I am the admin (I checked, as I know this is a known issue). I have the current updates to the O/S and the Epson driver. Specifically, these are printer paper profiles for an Espon Stylus Photo R2800 printer.

The ownership of the /Library/ColorSync directory and its contents changed in Lion.  You acutally do not have enough priviliges as admin to write to that directory anymore.  EPSON's installer does not have the ability to ask you for your password to escalate the admin privileges to root.  You should report this to EPSON and insist that they update their installer.
There is a way to get the files installed, but it is pretty involved.  I will give you the general idea but USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.  There is a risk you could break your system and make it unusable.
With those admonitions in mind, here's the general outline.
    1.  Go to /Library/ColorSync.  Highlight the folder and do a Get Info on it.
    2.  Under the Sharing & Permissions portion, give "everyone" the ability to Read & Write.  Then choose to have this applied to all enclosed items.
    3.  Run the EPSON installer(s).  The profiles will now install.
    4.  Change the ownership and permissions for all the installed items useing the Terminal--
For the EPSON folder the command is 'sudo chown -R root:wheel path_to_EPSON_folder'
For each and every item in the EPSON folder, the command is 'sudo chmod 644 path_to_item'
    5.  Open Disk Utility and Repair Permssions.

  • Epson r1900 Prints too dark after upgrading to cs5 from cs3

Ok this one has got me stumped.  While still in photoshop CS3 my epson r1900 was printing photo's just fine.  After upgrading cs3 to Photoshop cs5  it now prints everything too blue.  Nothing else has changed. My monitor is still calibrated, my printer paper profiles are still the same, the only change was upgrading to cs5.  To me it looks all the world like ICM is being applied twice (in photoshop and the printer) but in photoshop I have selected "photoshop manages colors" just like I did in cs3, and in the print dialog box for the printer, I have selected no ICM again just like I did in CS3.  But now the prints come out with a, to my eye, dark blue tint.  Very very frusterating.  I have deleted the color prefs file and let that recreate, but that did not help either.  I am out of tricks.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Patrick

There were a lot of reports of "double profiling" with Epson printers when Photoshop CS5 was first released.  I believe many people were seeing magenta-looking prints at that time.
Unfortunately, I don't think there was ever a resolution or even a good workaround...  I recall at least one person bought a new printer to be able to continue to work.
Of course, double check to see whether Epson has released any updated printer drivers.
As I don't have an Epson myself, I can only suggest that you'll want to experiment with your settings to see if you can find a way to disable color management in the printer driver, so that only Photoshop does it - or disable color-management in Photoshop so that only the printer driver will do it.

  • LR3 Print Module: printing to profile - unable to change Color Matching

    Hi
I use LR3 in 32 bit mode (there is no 64bit driver for HP DesignJet 130n).
I always print to profiles. In LR2 I had to make sure that in the PrintSettings the option Color Matching was set to "Vendor Machine", because although I saved this setting, LR never remembered.
Now with LR3 the option is again set to"Color Sync" but this time it cannot be changed.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks
    Bruno

    Bob,
My problem is exactly what you say: you must find the appropriate place in the printer interface where you can disable all color management performed by the printer driver.
In OS X (10.5.) I know only of two places where I can handle Color Management: "Print Settings" and "Profile" in the LR3 Print Module.
By default LR3 sets the Print Settings "Color Matching" to "Vendor Machine" if I choose "Managed by the Printer" for the Profile.
By default LR3 sets the Print Settings "Color Matching" to "ColorSync" if I choose a custom printer/paper profile.
Where/what is "the appropriate place in the printer interface where you can disable all color management performed by the printer driver" ?

  • I am on Lightroom 4 and using a Epson photo stylus R300 printer and cannot seem to put Hahnemuehle paper profiles on to it, anyone know how?

Anyone know how to put paper profiles onto a Epson R3000 printer via Lightroom 4?

    Installation using Mac OS:
    1. Double-click on the downloaded Zip-file. The ICC profile will be extracted in the same folder automatically.
    2. Now move the extracted ICC profile to the proper folder listed below.
Mac OS 8-9x - System Folder > Color Sync Folder
    Mac OS X - HD > User > Library > ColorSync > Profiles
Note: Please restart your graphics application (eg photoshop) if it was open during the profile installation.

  • Just got W 8.1 & IE 11. Have Lightroom 5.3  some of my printer profiles are gone on Epson 2880

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 8.1 & Internet Explorer 11. My Lightroom 5.3 printer paper & color space profiles are gone

    John,
In the case of the R800, 3.0 has been around for about one year. However, 3.09 was first posted to Epson Europe on 29 October 07 and 6 November 07 to Epson Oceania (Australia and New Zealand). The driver is supposed to be fully compatible with Leopard, but I have no way of checking. According to both Europe and Oceania, drivers for the remaining R series printers (1800, 1900 and 2400) are due out later this month.

  • No Matte paper option in paper settings Epson 2880

I have an Epson 2880. running with Lightroom 2.4 on a mac with OSX 10.5.7
However when I try to select the Epson Matte paper option in print settings> paper settings , it's not there.
I have loaded the latest Epson drivers and have got Premium Luster surface added but no Matte heavyweight. I can't select this in either 64 or 32 bit mode.
I have the same problem with Photoshop. Now this isn't a major problem as I can use the Premium Luster as a alternative and it works fine.
I have profiles for the Matte paper available, but it makes no difference
I just wondered why I couldn't select the Matte option. It has been suggested that It wont appear unless I have the Matte Black cartridge installed, but I was of the opinion this cart was for uncoated stock, which I thought the Epson matte paper wasn't.
    Any ideas???
    John C

John, you need to do two things.
First, you need to insert the Matte Black cart. Whatever you may have heard elsewhere, Matte Black is not solely for printing on uncoated stock. It is for printing on whatever papers were designed to be used with Matte Black inks, whether coated or not. Enhanced Matte (a.k.a. Archival Matte, Ultra Premium Presentation Paper Matte), Velvet Fine Art, UltraSmooth Fine Art, Entrada, Photo Rag, etc. are all coated on the printing surface and are designed to be used with Matte Black.
Second, you need to visit the Page Setup dialog box and make sure you have the appropriate paper feed selected. Otherwise you won't have access to all of the matte black-compatible media types, such as Velvet Fine Art.

  • Trouble printing with Epson 2880 and SL

Installed SL on my MBP but not my iMac yet as it is my main computer for printing with Aperture. I have been very happy with the 2880 and how well the prints match what I see on the screen (calibrated with i1d2). Well with SL I downloaded rosetta and the new 2880 drivers (as instructed by Epson), but whenever I choose a paper profile e.g., Premium Photo Glossy, the picture in Aperture Print Pane turns a purple hue. I, of course, have color management turned off in the Print Settings dialog. Anyone have any idea what is going on? As far as I can tell I'm not doing anything differently. More importantly, has anyone been able to get good photo printing with SL, Aperture and the new Epson drivers for the 2880 or similar Epson printer?
    Thanks, Jim

That KB article just saved me from going back to 10.5. I was having the same purple problem with all Ilford and Hahnemuhle profiles.
That problem is now gone (by just disabling Black Point Compensation) but: when trying to print from Aperture (2.1.4) with my R2880, any paper I choose is apparently stuck at +roll paper+, giving a +wrong source+ error when it reaches the printer. I now have to hit preview, select the correct page setup and profile and print from there. So far this seems to work. But it's a pain and not what I want to be stuck doing for very long.
I had this problem before but only when printing to Manual-Roll. Now even Sheet Feeder options don't work. This would all be fixed if we only had a proper Page Setup option in Aperture as in every other OS X application...
At least that convoluted method gives me the right colors - which I was definitely not getting by going the system managed route.
    Growing pains anyone?

  • Samsung 2493HM, Epson 2880 CS4 Profile Problems

    Hardware
    Datacolor Spyder2
    Samsung 2493HM
    Epson 2880
    Windows XP SP3
    ATI HD 5670
    Using DVI not HDMI
For months I've been printing using a photo lab with no problems.  I finaly replaced my old Epson R280 with a R2880.  I've loaded the icc profiles for the printer and Epson Ultra Lustre Paper, ran the Spyder calibration but am still getting prints that are one or two stops darker than the proof view using the icc profile.
I'm set to North American PrePress2, aRGB, No printer color Management, Black Point Compression, Show Paper Color, picked the icc profile for the paper at the quality setting I'm using (Photo or Super).
My monitor's calibrated to D65, gamma of 2.2.
I suspect the monitor is off and the printer is fine.  the monitor lists the contrast ratio of 20,000:1 and it normally outputs 400 cd/m^2.  So it is quite a bright monitor.  Other people I have sent images to that look fine on my display comment that they are dark on theirs.
And yes, adobe gamma is gone.
My ambient lighting is very low (my basement with a 13W 2700K Compact Flourescent) in a Luxo lamp but I judge proofs using my North facing window upstairs.
What steps should I be taking to verify the source(s) of the problem?

From an Adobe Print engineer.  Hope this helps.
He's got his monitor set to "as bright as the sun" brightness (as witnessed by "everyone else think my images look too dark.")
Turn down the monitor brightness and everything will work fine.
