Epson 3170 scanner drivers for Yosemite?

Hello
I tried to find my epson scanner 3170 driver in mac APP store as is suggested in epson web page:
http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=25021&infoType=Down loads
But nothing from epson appears in my updates...
Anyone knows how to get the driver for epson scanner 3170 for Yosemite?
thank you

The OS doesn't download scanner "drivers." If the scanner is ICA compliant, you can scan with Image Capture. If it is not, or you wan to use Epson's (or anyone else's) software, you have to download it from them.
There is an ICA driver installed for the Epson Perfection 3170 as noted here: OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support

  • Epson 3170 scanner problem

Apple has effectively killed my Epson 3170 scanner. I have followed most of the post here trying to solve this problem. I have deleted Epson scan and downloaded the driver from Epson that is supposed to work with image capture, but it will not work. This is extremely frustrating when you had a perfectly good scanner and then you upgrade to 10.6 and download the apple drivers for Epson and then it no longer works. If anyone has an idea I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. I apologize if this is a repeat, but I have searched and cannot find a solution. HELP!

I had the same problem but just found the solution in another thread.
You will need to replace /Library/Image Capture/Devices/EPSON Scanner.app with an earlier version of the EPSON Scanner.app and then (for the time being) don't let Software Update install the Epson printer/scanner update. In my case, I didn't have the EPSON Scanner.app at all after installing Snow Leopard.
There's some more info and a download link for a June 2009 version (v 5.0) of the (driver) app in this forum message: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12031583&#12067887
So far, so good: I can confirm that my 3170 is working with Image Capture again using the downloaded app.

  • How to get CS6 to open Epson 3170 scanner in professional mode? [was:question]

I use an Epson 3170 scanner how do i get cs6 to open it in professional mode?

I recommend that you check on epson's website and see if there is forum that you could ask that question on. As that is very specific question toward epson and requires someone who owns that brand to help you.
Also let them know what version of photoshop you have and what OS you are using, as drivers are specific to each OS.

Where can I find a Driver for Epson 3170 scanner Driver to use with Mac 10.8.1

I recommend buying the VueScan application to scan with, ESPECIALLY if you have the Epson Perfection 3170 auto sheet feeder like we do. Image Capture is real basic and doesn't support the sheet feeder OR automatically open our scanned PDFs in Adobe Acrobat for editing / OCR like VueScan does.
Look for the trial version on MacUpdate or the VueScan developer's website to try before you buy.

  • Downloaded Canon printer/scanner drivers for Canon PIXMA MP520 and MX860 on Mac Book laptop, and they worked.  However, when I downloaded the same two drivers on Mac Book Air, neither worked.

Downloaded Canon printer/scanner drivers for Canon PIXMA MP520 and MX860 on Mac Book laptop, and they worked.  However, when I downloaded the same two drivers on Mac Book Air, neither worked.

I wasn't aware that VueScan charged a yearly license.
You simply launch Image Capture and if the scanner is recognized it will be listed in the SHARED list in the left display column.  Select the scanner name and the app will start an overview scan.  You will also see a list of scanning options in the right display column (resolution, paper size, file output format, etc.
The above description is when everything is working correctly, which has been the case for me.
    Good luck.

Are there updated video drivers for the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M in a mid 2009 MBP for Yosemite?

I recently upgraded to Yosemite on my mid 2009 MBP and now I have maximum resolution of 1080p - so i suspect its the nvidia Graphics card that needs essential updates. Also after extensive search Im starting to get the feeling Apple have cut us off ...  no surprises there.

  • Lion update kills scanner drivers for Epson Perfection 1250

Lion Mac OS 10.7  was supposed to have a driver to use my scanner.. but I get no interface and no way to connect and use my scanner..
    Anyone else have any luck?
I connected my scanner via USB, and then ran Software Update and it installed something..
When I open my System Preferences/Printer and Scanner  I do see a driver..  when I try to connect I just get something loading and I get a blank screen.

What do you mean that you have no interface? Can you open System Preferences > Print & Scan, then select your scanner, and then open the scanner from there? Is there where you are getting a blank screen?
If you do, I would remove the scanner from Print & Scan, use the uninstaller from Epson, which you can get from here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid= 14550&prodoid=6464129&infoType=Downloads&platform=Macintosh
Then, install the scanner again. Updates can be complicated, and perhaps you were using previously some PPC code through Rosetta (which Lion doesn't support.) Re-installing should install Intel64 code, which seems to exist for your scanner according to the page above.

  • Epson WF3520 scanner driver for OX Maverick

    Hi
Does anyone know if or when a new driver for the WF 3520 Epson all in one printer will be relaeased? I have just tried to use the scanner but it says that I cannot use it with my OS X 10.9.1. Luckily, I am able to print but the scanner is a no no, please help!
    Thanks

Do you happen to own an iPhone or iPad?  If so, I recommend you download the Epson iPrint app to one of those devices.  It could find the Epson printer on the network, and one thing you could do is click the printer there, go to Advanced Settings, then Firmware Update.  That would update your printer's firmware if there is such an update available.  The app also has a scan function, so you could see if that works.

  • Scanner Drivers for Canon

I have a Canon IRC 3220 and can't seem to scan images to my Mac. I always did this in TIger. I am havin fits tryin to find the drivers or plug in to let me import the scans in Leopard. Anybody have some info that could help me in my time of need?

    Hi Brett,
From what you have said, looks like your iR doesn't have the Universal Send option. Just to be sure, you should go to the copier and have a look on the touch panel for a button that shows Send. You will see Copy and Scan (which is for Windows). Hopefully there is Send as well. If not, then you won't be able to do what I advised previously, using FTP or SMB.
Re the Mailbox, the scanned documents in this area use JBIG compression to store. To view these documents, you need the JBIG plugin. Can't remember if there is one for Mac. Certainly is/was for Windows. Anwyay, this method to scan is not ideal. The image quality is very low res.
So if you don't have Send, how were you scanning in Tiger? I doubt you would have been using the Mailbox. I can only assume that your iR C3220 does have an imagePASS attached and that you were using Fiery Remote Scan. This app includes a plugin that appears in the Acquire menu of Photoshop.
    If you do see the white metal box on the back of the iR, or if you see the Printer tab next to Copy and Scan in the touch panel, then you do have the imagePASS. So, you will need to install Fiery Remote Scan on the Mac, or check to see if you already have it by going to Applications and looking for a folder called Fiery. If you have this folder, open it. You should have a Fiery Remote Scan folder. If not, you can download the application from;
    http://software.canon-europe.com/software/0027431.asp?model=
Unpack this file and run the installer. This will create the Fiery Remote Folder in Fiery. Once this is done, open this folder and run Fiery Remote Scan. You will be prompted to enter the ip address of the imagePASS, a nick-name and a model name, which you can enter as iR-C2. Once that is complete, the Fiery Remote Scan app will open. There is two parts. The first is where you retrieve files that you scan to the imagePASS mailbox, not the iR C3220 mailbox. The second, with a heading of Initiate, is where you set your scanning conditions, such as resolution.
Now, on the copier, press the Scan tab on the touch panel and press Online. Load you document into the adf or onto the platen and go back to your Mac. In the Fiery Remote Scan windows, select Initiate, make your scanning selection, and click Send. This will present another sheet where you choose your scanning destination. Now, this is where Fiery Remote Scan has a problem on Leopard. This second window appears behind the first, meaning that you cannot select the destination to scan the file to. The workaround is to move the Retrieve window to the left. Then, when the next window appears, you will be able to see it. Choose the destination of choice and click Send to complete the scanning.
Hope I haven't missed anything with the instructions. Let me know how you go...

  • My epson 3170 scanner

has worked fine through past upgrades.  Now ML tells me power pc apps aren't supported.  Downloaded and installed a new ICA app from epson but I have no idea what Mountain Lion did with it.  Can't find it.  New kind of problem to solve for me so not sure what to do.  Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply and suggestion but I've done that step.  It's after the installation has occured that I cannot find where the new app has been placed.  I've searched the entire hd and nothing new shows.
I found the log but I don't know how to interpret what happened.

  • I just bought an Epson v600 scanner and i cannot install it. Help Please! :)

Lion OS X won't recognize it like it should

    Greetings,
You'll have to wait until Epson updates their drivers for use with Lion. After that Apple may publish a driver package, but it's the scanner, or whatever 3rd party device, manufacturer to provide the drivers to Apple. That's the way is is for Mickeysoft, Linux, and Apple - they don't write drivers, the manufacturers do.
You'll see drivers for your product on th emanufacturers site, before Apple will publish them, but they won't be very far behind.

You cannot run PPC software in Lion. Go to Epson's website to see if they have an updated scanner driver. If they don't then you can try using VueScan if it supports your scanner model.
