Epson All-in-One can no longer scan.
I own two different Epson All-in-One printers that worked perfectly fine for Wi-Fi scanning. Now, they do not appear anywhere as a scanner. I have ensured all software and drivers are current.
Which model Epsons are they?
I'm assuming you're using Yosemite (OS X 10.10), and that the problem developed when you upgraded from a previous OS.
(Your profile says 10.6.7 BTW).
Maybe the scanning function is not compatible with Yosemite.
You could try a few things:
reset your wifi system:
power down everything: modem, router, computer, printer/scanners.
wait a minute.
power them all up again, in that order: modem, router, computer, printers. Let each power up completely before going on to the next.
try a factor reset on your printer/scanner (if there is such a function). You'll have to check your manual for how. If you do that you'll have to enter the wifi password in your printer/scanner, assuming you have security on your network.
uninstall any printer manufacturer "utilities" that are on your Mac, and try Image Capture again.
If it is a compatible software issue, you could try VueScan, but I've never needed to use it.

Have used this device several times over past 2 years on different wireless networks (at home) but usually at some point I lose wireless scan function but maintain wireless Printing. I used to be able to reload the software and resolve the issue but now in this "new network" cannot get wireless scanning to work. Setup software; original software (CD) and current download as well as "Print/Scan Dr" hangs-up at "network check" for hours. Compaq laptop, Dell Laptop, Cell phones and Roku work fine thru network. Scanner works fine with USB to Laptops.

HP 8500 ALL IN ONE - CAN NO LONGER SCAN TO SHARED FOLDER
I have had an HP 8500 all in one scanner / printer for a while and have not had any problems with,
Yesterday the printer hung so I reset it.
I am using ethernet (wired) as opposed to wireless.
When I reset the printer it gave it a new ip address of which I reconfigured back to the address of my network ie 192.168.7.xxx
I am able to print and scan from the embedded printer web page but when I scan to my shared folder, the printer cannot conect.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I think it may be something either to do with the network path or possibly the sharing permissions fo the network folder.

I read through your post about the issues you are having with scanning to your network folder. My best suggestion would be to check out the guide below and set up your scan to network folder again.

My C7280 all in one will no longer scan
My C7280 all in one will no longer scan to my computer. I get an error message that says "no scan options, refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I have tried all I know. I have re-downloaded the origianl disc software numerous times to no avail. I have gone on line to download the software to no avail. I just get a message that states there was an error in the download.

I recently upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks, but now my HP Deskjet F4580 All in one printer will not scan any documents either as PDF or as JPG, how can we fix this?I have simialr problems, after i scanned the ducuments or pictures, i can save it for only once, but the file is just black pictures with many lines through them. When i try to save it again, then it says ''An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only.', which then doesn't allow me to do anything of saving the file or even just to print it out.

Officejet Pro 8620 All in One Will No Longer Scan in Color

I have an Officejet Pro 8620 all in one. I was scanning a few items last night and the first few items came out in color fine. Then all of the sudden as I continued to scan the next few images would only scan in black and white. I cannot seem to get the scanner to scan in color again. How can I fix this? I did not change any settings or anything while I was scanning so I do not know why the sudden change to black and white? I am on a Mac computer with all newest operating system etc.

I have some more suggestions for you to try. Please try them in order I have written them in.
Reset the printing system
Repair disk permissions
Restart the Mac
Install the Full Feature Driver here: HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers
In addition, download this Apple driver: HP Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X
That should do the trick!

My Epson wp4535 all in one will no longer scan. Where can I find an updated driver?
I have an Epson WP-4535 Workforce Pro all in one printer, scanner, fax machine. Since upgrading to mavericks the scanner will no longer work- an error message comes up to say that "you can't use this version of Epson Scan."
I must need an uodated driver - Epson says to look via the Apple site but I can find nothing there.

All in One Printer no longer scanning (C5280)
I have an oldish printer/scanner that was working fine until I downloaded the update that came from HP on Aug. 13th. Since then, I cannot scan. I got an error message that the machine was disconnected from the computer which made no sense since I can print from the computer just fine. I did all the things the error message suggested: rebooting, disconnecting the cable, redownloading the driver. The machine worked for about 5 pages of the scan after the redownload, then conked out again.
I saw some directions about going into the registry editor window but they were for Windows 7 and below. I have Windows 8. I did not see a folder for Digital Imaging in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/H-P
If there are updated directions for Windows 8, pleae let me know.

I see you are experiencing scan issues. I would like to try and help.
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration. You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Photosmart C5200 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver.

I installed the new Yosemite operating system even though I was afraid something bad would happen. Well. it did. I can no longer scan photos using my photo scanner. I have updated all the drivers and it is still not working. I have an Epson Perfection V500 photo scanner, as well as an Epson WorkForce 845 all-in-one scanner, printer, copier. The 845 is on the network. The V500 is connected to my computer. For some reason, I keep getting the error that my V500 is not connected and when I try to add it, my mac does not find it. I know it is there. It was working before I upgraded. Help
You may have already done so, but if not...
Try a different USB cable.
Reboot your computer
Launch Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder) and Repair Disk Permission
in the left pane, click once on the name of your hard disk
in the right pane, click on the First Aid tab near the top
under the blank window, click the button "Repair Disk Permissions."
Afterward, click the "verify disk" button and it will check your hard disk.
Now, try your scanner... -

I have issues with my HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2060 K110 all-in-one printer. I used to be able to scan from my printer to my computer without any hitch. Yesterday however, I started receiving a message that my computer cannot detect my printer's "scan dialogue". So I can no longer scan to my computer. I still can print and copy documents just fine though. I've trfied the HP Print & Scan Doctor but my issue still persists. What can be my problem?
Hi Rocky_Balboa, Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you can't scan with your Deskjet Ink Advantage 2060 K110. Are you able to make copies with the printer? In the meantime, please take a look at this guide. Windows: HP Scan Software Does Not Open or Scan on a Printer Using a USB Connection. I can no longer scan from printer (Canon Pixma MP240) when it is connected to Airport Express, although printing is no affected. However, when connected directly to MBP scanning works fine. I have tried all the standard remedies; reinstalling drivers, resetting printer system, selecting sharing options, but no luck. Previous to Mountain Lion this function worked fine. Any ideas how to regain this capability?

J.I'm almost completely certain that the scanning feature worked before the update. Having said that though, I don't scan a great deal and it may be the case that when I have done, the printer was directly connected to the MBP. However, since I have a laptop it's far more logical that I would have had the printer connected to Airport Express for reasons of portability so I can't really see that I would have had the printer connected directly to the laptop. Besides this, I have no memory of having this problem previously. Therefore, I don't think my memory is to blame although of course, if it were I'd have no way of knowing!
