Epson C900 not detecting waste toner replacement Mac OS 10.8.2

I just upgraded my mac to Mountain Lion 10.8.2. The drive for my epson Aculaser C900 was automatically updated to 5.5. All was fine for a few days until it detected the waste toner was full. I replaced it but I can no longer print because the print menu is still saying the waste is full. I still have my old mac running print driver 4.0.   If I connect my printer to this all is well. It has detected the waste container as empty and prints away with no problems. Does anyone know how I can tell the new driver the waste container has been replaced? I can't see this can be a hardware or mechanical error due to it working fine on my old system.

You will find that MF3010 is not in the list of supported softwares by Apple.
This web page lists the drivers that the vendors supply to Apple so that they can be downloaded to the Mac via Software Update. It is by no means a  list of drivers that are only approved or supported on 10.8 and earlier.
With regards to the UFR2 driver used by the Canon MF series, it is supported by Canon on 10.8 and version 2.43 lists the MF3010 as a supported model. This is shown in the Readme for the driver.
Also, as I have mentioned above, the ability to see the MF connected to the Mac via USB is not dependent on the printer driver. The device should appear under one of the USB busses. The fact that it is not for the OP would normally suggest a faulty USB cable or some device residing between the Mac and the MF. But this is not the case so there must be something else causing this symptom.
If you open System Information and select USB, do you see the MF listed?

  • Internal modem not detecting dial tone

I have an iMac G3 CRT 333MHz (Lime) which is having trouble connecting to my dial-up internet connection. I am fearing that my internal modem is 'burnt out', and am wondering if anyone out there has any additional troubleshooting tips, or any advice on purchasing a new external modem.
The trouble started after a lightning storm, which also disrupted internet connections for my roommate's PC (I don't know exactly how he fixed his, but he is connected via a DSL modem and says he simply restored some modem drivers). I have noticed, however, that he removed his 56k modem...
When I attempt to dial-up from my Mac, I get a message stating "Modem did not detect a dial-tone or the line is currently in use..." I have checked and double checked that the phone line does indeed have a dial tone, and tried connecting through through various outlets throughout the house. I've disconnected all other phone hardware (except the DSL filters) and reached the same result.
I am currently running OSX (10.3.9), and also attempted to dial out after restarting in 9.2.2. (Same result). After that, I dug out my install CD and reinstalled 10.3 (same result)
From each OS, I've run system profiler and recieved no unusual information about the internal modem. The computer definitely senses that I HAVE a modem (Apple Vsn 0007-1,9/2/1998 v.90) That modem simply can't seem to detect the dial tone.
I have also confirmed my modem settings, tried checking and unchecking the 'sound' and 'wait for dial tone' boxes. My internet provider is NetZero, so I have attempted to dial in using their software, as well as directly through Internet Connect. All attempts return the same message. (and the NetZero account is still active, I have accessed it from two separate computers).
Any thoughts out there if there are any further settings or or software/OS variations I should try? Or are my suspicions valid that the storm somehow fried the modem (there were no power interruptions during the storm... only modem troubles)
My next step might be to find an external modem. I've not seen any Mac-compatible 56k modems in stores. There is a Apple USB Modem in the Apple store, but it requires OS 10.4.3 and a computer 'without a built-in modem', so I don't think that will help me. I've also considered using Airport to share my roommate's DSL connection, but I believe that my model of iMac is not airport compatible...
I also have a dead iMac in the closet (DV model) with a blown ethernet port, broken fan, and damaged hard drive. I'm not above cannibalizing either machine to get the other working until I can afford a new G5...
Any thoughts, suggestions, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!!

The only thing I can think of is to go in to the modem settings and choose ignore dial-tone. That way even if it's not getting a good tone the iMac will continue to try to connect. This is also important if you have a voice mail system that varies the dialling tone whne you have a message as I know that stops my father's Win98 box connecting to the Internet unless the equivalent option is checked.
You can update your email address to a current one here. If the Apple ID (i.e. the one you login with) is old don't worry that's pretty irrelevant.

  • Faxing - Modem Does Not Detect Dial Tone

    Hello Everyone,
I suddenly have a need to send and receive a Fax. I have a phone line plugged into the modem port on my G4 and on trying to send a text fax, not much happens. Error message to the effect that the modem is not detecting a dial tone. Same cable that works fine on the phone itself.
Can someone either help with an answer or direct me to a page with more detailed instructions than the "Help" file is providing?
    John

I have the same problem. I thought I would begin to use my several years old Powerbook to send a simple fax. As it is I have to use my old G3 to fax. Even with Faxstf pro on I still can't get it to work. Fax STF says that the modem is only set to receive and I just cannot change it in the settings. I've trashed the preferences and the program. I am at a loss after having spent a day trying to figure this out. I am on a dedicated phone line that works just fine. I would really like to just simply fax from my powerbook G4. The modem is as follows:
    Modem Model: LastDash
    Interface Type: USB
    Modulation: V.92
    SKU Name: UCJ
    Hardware Version: 4.0
    Firmware Version: APPLE VERSION 2.6.6
    Driver: InternalUSBModem.kext (v2.6.6)
Country: B5 (United States, Latin America)

iTunes does not recognize the iPhone. I have to keep restarting iTunes and reconnecting the iPhone approx. 4-5 times before it picks it up.....
    Any ideas?

It looks like your computer is USB 1.1 only. Your Multi-Function Printer (MFP) is USB 2.0, but running at USB 1.1 speeds (Up to 12Mb/sec). There is also the potential something to do with the printer or printer software could be interfering as well. Have you tried connecting the iPhone with the printer disconnected?
USB 1.1 may work, but its not supported, and issues like you are describing can occur with USB 1.1.

  • HTMLLoader does not detect PDF support on Mac computers

I am having a problem loading a PDF file using the htmloader, everything works fine on a PC, however I keep getting HTML.pdfCapatibility, which returns 3201 (Adobe Reader cannot be found.) on all Macs.  We have ensured the most recent versions of adobe reader are installed.
Also on a separate note, on some web sites that check for PDF browser support they will throw an error saying the air html window doesn't have PDF support when in fact their PDF content displays fine.

No it was not installed in that location.  And not being so Mac savy
I am still having difficulty trying to install the plugin.  Does anyone have a link that will easily get this done?

  • Indesign CS3 & Epson r2400 not printing tabloid paper

Indesign CS3 & Epson r2400 not printing tabloid paper. MAC OS 10.5.6. Have tried all configurations of page set up 11 x17 and 8.5 x 11 spreads, custom page sizes and default paper set up. The print comes out cut off. Epson says it's an Indd problem. Very inconvenient. Got any ideas?

I'm having the same problem with IDCS3 5.0.4 and an Epson Stylus PRO 3800 on Mac OS X 10.5.6 with version 6.11 of the Epson driver. I have a 17x17 document in InDesign that I am trying to print on 17x22 paper. The paper spools a little less than half-way down and the print begins, but it prints about 1/4 of the image--it is as if it cropped at 8.5x11 at the top right corner of the image.
I have had to resort to saving the file as a high-res jpeg and printing from Preview as a workaround. Unreal.

    What exactly is the error?
And, we'd need some info re. your Mac model and OS version - you are not running iOS on it.
You need to realize that this model has been discontinued and the last driver updates are dated about a year ago. If you are running Mavericks, there may not be an updated driver for it. But you can try to delete the printer and add it again to see if that will work.

  • Internet connection "Does not detect a dial tone" ????

    Help!
I have not been able to connect to the internet on my imac G5 for the last couple of weeks. I have tried the usual connect and restart computer and have spoken to my ISP who say it's not to do with them. The message 'does not detect a dial tone' comes up when i try and connect via the modem. I am now at a loss as to what to do. It does appear to be a Mac problem (having spoken to Mac support aswell), but short of re-installing the OS i am not sure what action to take next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
Noticed you are running Panther on an iMac G5? Is that correct?
What are your external modem settings in your System Preferences>Network/TCP/IP and modem panels? What changed in your system just prior to your not being able to connect to the Internet?
Short of reinstalling the OS, you can reapply the combo update for the particular version of OS X you are running.
    Please post back.

  • Epson scanner perfection 1670 is not detected on system preference pane

It use to work but now it only produces blank grey scans.
I have deinstalled and reinstalled new driver from Epson support site.
I have also tried cleaning the USB connection with no results.
I have noticed that when I tried connecting to the internet from the the scanner Help menu it tells me I am not connected (while I am) and I noticed also that the scanner is not detected on system preference pane.

You can open System Profiler and under the Hardware heading you will see the USB entry. The printer should be listed under one of the USB busses. If you don't see it then the USB cable could be faulty or the printer itself could be cactus. So try another USB cable and in another port on the Mac. If the new cable and socket fails to make the printer appear in the USB view then the printer is the problem.
If the printer is visible under one of the USB busses then this would indicate that the printer and the USB cable is okay. In this case the printer should be capable of being added in Print & Fax. But if you select to add the printer and it does not appear in the Default view of the Add Printer pane then try a reset of the printing system, as described next.
    1. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax
    2. Move your mouse over the Printers list
    3. Hold down the Control button and click the mouse
    4. Click the "Reset printing system ..." popup
    5. Restart your Mac

  • My Mac Pro (2006) with NVidia GeForce 8800 GT is not detecting a second display.  What can I do?

My Mac Pro w/ NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT does not detect a second display from the System Preferences / Displays.  Even though I select the "Detect Displays" button, nothing happens.  I also have Bootcamp and Windows 7 in a partition on my drive.  When I operate with Windows 7, there is no problem detecting both of my displays.  However, when I operate with Windows 7, there is no sound signal sent from my sound card.  When I switch back to the OS X then I get a sound feed from the sound card, but then it will not detect more than one monitor.  I'm ready to pull out my hair.  Anyone have suggestions?

Sorry about the crazy long title. I updated my Mac 2 nights ago to OSX 10.6.3 (Snow Leopard) and now Itunes 10.6.3 is not detecting my IPhone 4 iOS 6.0.1 when I plug it in. Any suggestions would be apprciated! Thanks!

I'm not even sure how I would do that? Do I have to buy it? When I tell my ITunes to chck for updates it says there is no update. Thanks again varjak paw! :-)

My ipod touch 5 gen with ios 6.0.2 is not detected in mac mini with 10.8.2. It is working with all other PCs and mac except my mac. I tried all the posible trobleshootings found in the internet, still it is not working.

But on a hunch, System Preferences>Network, unlock the Lock if need be, see if you get New Port Detected, or click the little + icon and see if you can add Ethernet.
If it works & that is the Interface used for Internet, click on the little Gear icon>Set Service Order, drag Ethernet to the top.

  • Mac Pro OSX 10.8.3 HP 4000 series scanners are not detecting.

Well..I think, I did everything. I have followed all instructions recommended by HP. I have updated and installed latest drivers. I have even searched the warez sites to find a trick. Useless, useless and useless.
Hardware is retina display with 256 GB SSD, 1600 mGz  8 GB ram and I7 processor. OSX version is 10.8.3
HP 4000 series scanners are not detecting by this machine. Vuescan is detecting but the scanning quality is also terrible.
Strange. I have nothing to say.

For the Scanjet 4850, follow the link below and click on the instructions tab.  It looks like you have to get the software and drivers for 10.6 and run a patch to make them work with 10.8.  That should get the scanner installed and working.
Scanjet Software Patch to Use OS X 10.6 Software and Driver on OS X 10.7 and 10.8
For the Scanjet G4050, all you should need to do is install the driver from the link below to be able to use the scanner with image capture and other similar products.

    Let me know what happens.
