Epson D120 Leopard 10.5 Mac Pro Airport Extreme

Printer seen every where, except it;s staus while connected to the aiport is offline, communication error? any ideas?

Well here is an update.
I saw an entry in apple support that said I had to change some setting in the apache folder /etc/apache2 in order to avoid getting the 403 forbidden error. I tried this and it did not work, i checked my user configuration file as well and the path to my home site directory was correct
Anyone here have a similar setup and has it working? It shouldnt be too hard to set up web sharing through a router. It has to be possible or else a lot of people would not buy a router because of this.
thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to help
Bye.

  • Mac Pro + Airport Extreme = Mouse Cursor Chaos Display Issues When Dragging

Graphic display issues (mouse lag and latency displayed on the screen when dragging an object (photo, window, application, document, etc.) from the top 50% of the screen to the bottom 50% of the screen. Mouse cursor starts to display serious lag and latency and loses ability to stay on the object being dragged anywhere below the 50% horizon line of any display.
Mac Pro (any model 2007 to current 2009 production) with Airport Extreme installed.
    Symptoms:
On any object the mouse cursor selects and then drags from anywhere in the upper portion (50%) of the screen display (no matter the display being used) to the bottom portion (50%) of the screen display, shows great lagging and latency as if the cursor is "hanging on for dear life" or as if the processor were running several intense applications and cursor was not responding.
The mouse cursor fails to stay in concert with the object being dragged anywhere in the lower portion of the screen although is fine in the upper portion of the screen.
Issue only presents itself when selecting and dragging an object from bottom to top or top to bottom of the display.
I have deduced that the issue with this "polarity" (i.e. the 50% horizon level of the screen north and south) is due to some magnetic or waveform interference from the Airport Extreme card and most likely due to its position on the motherboard and/or next the the Intel processor. Also could be enhanced by the Bluetooth card which is also located next to this card.
After checking various Mac Pros (at Apple stores, friends and received via Apple Online store) the common denominator is the Airport Extreme Card. When it is NOT present, no issues are present with display cursor lag; when it IS present, all the above apply.
No one at Apple seems to realize this issue or cares about it. Ditto for Genius Bar Apple Employees; seems to be a mystery on par with the Bermuda Triangle (which ironically is also magnetically-polarity related.)
Still waiting for a Apple Product Engineer to contact me and have 3 tickets open with Apple from 3 different Mac Pros on this. Problem first noticed May 2009 although first generation Mac Pro from 2007 also suffered same issues and just now putting the puzzle together on this relationship.
Any others out there notice this as well? Check it out if you have a Mac Pro and Airport Extreme Card installed inside of it.

I also have the same exact problem. I have a i5 iMac Mid 2011 with an upgrade to 10.10 Yosemite connected to an external display. I like you never had this issue with Mavericks. Zoom is so painfully slow now that I had to disable it. My iMac has 12 GB of RAM and even with no apps opened, zoom is killer slow.. makes me want to punch a wall-kinda slow.
I think it's clear to say that something is up with 10.10.. some bug.
    Apple please fix us zoomers

  • X64 driver for mac pro airport extreme

Does anyone know how or where to get the driver for the airport extreme that comes in the mac pro, that will work in windows XP x64 edition?

If i can just jump in here folks, i've just installed the airport enabler and it hasn't changed a thing for me. My menu bar icon still shows 2 or 3 bars and the info in network utility says MODEL 80003 ESB2, certainly not what it shows on Apple's website. I'm running 10.4.8 and software is all up to date?
I just reinstalled 10.4.7 on my spare drive and airport is showing full bars and that's without the airport enabler installed?

  • How do I install a Mac Pro AirPort Extreme Card?

I upgraded from a Verison USB Internet stick (shared amongst four computers--2 Mac and 2 PC) to a Verizon MiFi 4510L router, I found out that only my iBook was wireless enabled. MacMall told me which AirPort card to buy for my MacPro but it has no instructions and I can't find any online. Does anyone know how it's done or has a link to instructions they can share? Also, once the card is installed, is getting connected intuitive or is there more to it than that? Thanks.

  • Mac Pro Airport Extreme Card Install

So I've read just about every thread that I can find on this, and there's been so much discrepancy on which antenna wires to connect. I've tried just about every combination, and the card is showing up in the system profiler (en2), but when I click "Turn Airport On" in Network Preferences, nothing happens. At all. Anyone have any suggestions? Is there an airport update that I need to download? Thanks!

You probably don't need an update. But you have to enable it before you can turn it on. I suggest you do the following:
    * Reboot and clear PRAM (CMD-OPT-p-r at boot time).
    * Open the Network Preferences panel and highlight the Airport.
    * Click on the gear icon below the list and make the airport active.
    * Reboot.
This will probably solve your problem.

  • Mac Pro airport lags horrendously, Macbook Pro does not.

I bought Snow Leopard and installed it on my MacBook Pro and my Mac Pro, and since doing so, everything has been fine on the MBP but not the Mac Pro. On the Mac Pro, Airport lags horrendously sometimes. It seems like every couple of seconds, the wireless connection chokes up - web pages load at a snail's pace, or if I'm playing a game online it turns into a slide show for a couple seconds. None of these issues seem to occur to my MBP, which is connected to the same wireless network. Furthermore, Airport doesn't work at all when I have my location set to "Automatic" in network settings, it only works if I create a new location - all this since upgrading to Snow Leopard.
So why would these issues occur on the Mac Pro and not the MBP?

    Hi Sean,
Not an Airport user myself, but I thought this might be a good page for you to look around in for a possible answer. Discussion area there too.

  • Can I use Tiger and Snow Leopard on my Mac Pro?

I have a 3 year old Mac Pro with 2 internal hard drives installed by Apple at the time of purchase. At present, I'm using Tiger 10.4.11. I've purchased Snow Leopard (The Family Pack with 5 licenses) and have installed it on my MacBook Pro.
I haven't put Snow Leopard on my Mac Pro since it is my main, workhorse computer and I have several older applications that aren't compatible with Snow Leopard.
My question is: Can I install Snow Leopard on my second internal drive and leave Tiger on the main drive? That way I could use either system by changing the start-up drive to the system I want to use. Is this possible, or advisable? Will it work or cause problems?
Another question: If one of the drives needs repair, could I boot up in the other drive and run Disk Utility to make the repairs instead of booting the computer from the original software CD? (I'm having a problem finding the original Tiger 10.4 System CD in my organizationally challenged graphic design and illustration studio.)
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

  • Installing Leopard on a Mac Pro

As I am a bit of a scaredy cat, I have put off installing Leopard on my Mac Pro. This is a work machine and although I have another G5 that is perfectly usable if this machine went belly up I have still not bit the bullet so to speak... until now.
I'd like to install Leopard and wanted to do what I usually do which is a complete erase and install rather than the standard migration. I have always had problems with this and so this is my preferred route. Since the Mac Pro comes with 3 extra bays in which to put hard discs, am I able to put in a new drive start up the mac from a Leopard install disc and install Leopard on this drive. Or does it always install to the drive in bay one. My ideal set up would be to have both operating systems and install all the apps I use on Leopard in a methodical way, testing as I go along. This was how I migrated from Panther and I am happy to do this although it does take a little longer.
Another solution is to do a migration as well I guess to see how this would go. Can a migration be done from the internal drive in bay one or would I be better off Carbon Copy Cloning my Tiger disc to an external drive and using this instead. Since the drives are so easy to swap in and out I figured this is an option, but don't know.
The only other thing is I use the new Adobe CS3 apps which require internet enabling. I can have 2 versions of say After Effects at a time on 2 different macs. I can install on a third but have to disable one on one of the others. If I have AE installed on both Leopard and Tiger on the same machine does this mean I have to disable it in Tiger before I switch to the other Leopard install. Confusing isn't it.
Anyway hope some of you more technical people out there can help with some of these questions
    all the best

The drive bay doesn't matter. You can install onto any drive,

You can use Migration Assistant to migrate from internal drives. It is safest to just migrate data, not applications. Install the latest versions on the applications.

It depends on how Adobe does it. If they just look at the hardware configuration, you could activate the new copy without affecting the old one. If they look at the version of OSX, or the disk drive, you may have to deactivate the one you aren't using before it will let you activate the other.

  • Hi all. I have upgraded to 10.6.8 Snow Leopard on my Mac Pro but still cannot connect to App store  to upgrade to Mountain Lion. Any advice?

Hi all, I have upgraded to 10.6.8 Snow leopard on my Mac Pro but still cannot connect to App store.  I want to connect to upgrade to Mountain Lion but ony get the message "you are not connected to App store"  or "Check your internet connections, error -52". My internet is working OK for everything else.Any advice?

Then I will have to assume a faulty installation.
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • Apple TV mirroring issues even with Mac mini, airport extreme bought at the end of last year, and an iPad 2

Apple TV mirroring issues even with Mac mini, airport extreme bought at the end of last year, and an iPad 2

I have the same issue with ATV3 and iPhone 4S. Everything works properly, no buffering issues when watching netflix, vimeo, youtube BUT when I try mirroring even a small 15sec iPhone movie it stutters and buffers and results to a choppy playback..same with larger mp4 files such as 1-1.5GB, buffers forever and never plays, I just re-encoded the same movie to 700MB and plays perfectly..
Why Apple, why?..so close..I can accept the bigger movie files issue, but not being able to playback properly an iPhone movie is funny..I recorded a movie with lower bitrate through Filmic Pro (Economy mode, up to 16Mbps)
    and plays properly.
Is there an upcoming software update going to solve the problem or is it hardware related and therefore not fixable.
Please don't reply with a network related answer, by 2012 we know how to set up our networks and everything else runs flawlessly.
I'll apreciate a fast answer, we love Apple, but if it can't play an iphone movie (or a high quality movie from iTunes) it's just not up to my standards.
    Thanks again.

  • Why does my mac pro gets extremly hot about 20 min or so that im on and freezes about a 1 hour that im on then i have to power off etc can u help me pls

why does my mac pro gets extrwhy does my mac pro gets extremly hot about 20 min or so that im on and freezes about a 1 hour that im on then i have to power off etc can u help me pls

You can find out what processes are loading your system by running Application Monitor (in Launchpad > Utilities if you're running Lion or Launchpad > Other under Mountain Lion). Select "All Processes". Sort the display by CPU% (click on the label of that column). What processes show over 10% CPU?
Also, when you click on the CPU button on the lower bar, what shows as your % idle? (Mine is showing about 98% just reading and posting here.)
If no process is causing the heat, you could have a hardware problem.

  • Is this creative suite or leopard causing my mac pro to freeze, quit and not sleep?

I hav recently bought a high end mac pro and leopard and I am lucky if I get 30 minutes before the whole system freezes. Tried re-installing in a different hard drive on the pro - same problem. If I put the computer to sleep, 80% of the time when I return, it has shut down. Actions in CS3 are deleted. Everything is a bit random and I can not work it out. Running disk utility, from the computer and disk produces this:
ACL found but not expected on Applications/Utlities
    """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" on Applications
    """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" on Library
    Permissions repair complete
All software is up to date. I do have some plug-ins that are supposed to be cool with this system.

  • How do I reinstall Leopard on my mac pro from my mac book pro?

How do I reinstall my Snow Leopard os into my mac pro from my mac book pro?  I have the disks, both run on Snow Leopard.  I am have a grey screen problem and nothing has fixed it yet, so I was told to reinstall in from another computer because when I tried to load from disk to mac pro the mac pro would start to load, but then stop at the same place.

Once you get it to work, be sure to download and apply the lastest SL COMBO updater. for 10.6.8 (or any later version). This will ensure that the latest drivers & such for that newer hardware gets installed and the resulting OS can run optimally.

  • Early 08 Mac Pro Airport Trouble

    Hi all,
I ran into a slow internet problem on my early 08 Mac Pro (x x 2.8 GHz Intel Xeon, 4 GB DDR2).
I've had it hooked up to internet via ethernet cable for about a year now and everything was fine. Last week, I moved the computer to a sunnier room (guest bedroom was too dark, gets kinda depression). Since I didn't have an ethernet cable long enough (and there is no cable outlet), I started using Airport to connect to internet. The Router and Modem are still in my guest bedroom. I immediately noticed that my internet connection has slow to a crawl. At first I thought I was out of range for my router (the rooms are not that far apart, but it was a valid theory). So I tested with my laptop (MBP 15'' early 09), iPad and iPhone sitting on the same desk as my pro (pro is under the desk, of course), all worked fine on the wifi (with my laptop clocked an impressive 13.97 Mbps download and 5.59 Mbps upload according to Speedtest.net).
When I opened network diagnostic window, I noticed the ISP / Internet/ Server lights keep switching from green to red. Has anyone seen this before? Do I have a bad Airport component? Is there a test I can run?
    Thanks.
    Angela

The changing Wi-FI Icon, showing signal strength of one to five bars does not always tell the whole story.
One problem with these things in cities is interference from neighbors' networks on the same channel, or "Network Hopping" if you have not told your Mac explicitly to use only your Network.
In 10.7, there is a tool to show detailed signal strength information:
    http://subrosasoft.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/hidden-wi-fi-diagnostics-tool-in-mac -os-x-10-7-lion
You can also use the free utility istumbler:
    http://www.istumbler.com/
It is not an accident that almost every troubleshooting guide suggests you power cycle your Router as an early step. This will tend to force your Router to find the least-busy channel and use it.
