Epson Expression 1600 not recognized by Acrobat

I've been trying for a year to get Acrobat X pro to recognize my Epson Expression Scanner, but it never does. Frustrated that I have to scan in preview or scanning software then bring document into Acrobat. Frustrating. Please Help!

Nevermind. The Epson R220 works fine on the AEBS. Wrong USB cable was plugged into the AEBS.

Does the Epson Expression 1600 Scanner work in Snow Leopard? Did you have to install Rosetta to get it to work?
I use my MacBook Pro for business and it is vital that everything I use works properly. From what I've seen on these posts, I may be waiting a long while to upgrade.

People who need to SCAN & PRINT without a compatible driver from their manufacturer can use Apple's very basic "PRINT & SCAN" utility in System Preferences:
Click the Apple menu ( ), and then click System Preferences .
    Click Print & Scan ( ).
Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .
Click Show Details . The details of the scan display, including options to modify scan settings such as output type.Figure 2: Example of the Show Details scanning screen
Change any settings as necessary, and then click Scan .
    Hope this helps

  • Ica scanner for epson expression 1600

My Epson Expression 1600 isn't working with the Lion system software. It cancels out using image capture. What should I do?

It should work, it's on the list: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US#epson
I don't have an Expression 1600, but I do have an Expression 1680 that uses the same drivers and it works.

  • My airport express is not recognizing an IP address. How can this be fixed?

My airport Express is not recognizing an IP address. How can this be fixed?

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
    Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.

  • Epson Stylus R220 not recognized by AEBS. Was by AX

I originally posted in the Airport & Printing section but I see this problem is specific to the Dual Band Airport Extreme.
THe subject USB printer is recognized by my AX when connected to the AX via USB but not when connected to a brand new AEBS Dual Band via USB. I've tried bot WAN and LAN configurations but no success. The 5.5 version of AIrport Admin always shows nothing on the Printers pane. Base station is running 7.5 firmware. I've done the power on/off tricks. My drivers are the latest from Epson but I don't think that's at play here. The AEBS is not recognizing the USB printer.
Aside, there are numerous Apple articles on troubleshooting that say "Not all OS X compatible printers can be base station printers". However, I cannot find any base station compatibility list. Also, the printer worked fine on the AX.

Nevermind. The Epson R220 works fine on the AEBS. Wrong USB cable was plugged into the AEBS.

  • Epson 4490 scanner not found by Acrobat X in Lion 10.7.4

    1. Uninstalled Epson software with software in "epson12887" uninstaller (from Epson).
    2. After connecting scanner, ran Apple Software Update and added the Epson Printer Software Update 2.11 from Apple.
    3. Epson 4490 Scanner is visible in System Preferences > Print & Scan window.
    4. Apple's Image Capture sees the Epson 4490 scanner, and Image Capture works with the scanner.
    5. Adobe Photoshop CS6 sees the scanner after adding Adobe's TWAIN plug-in, and Photoshop works with the scanner.
    In Acrobat, go to:
FIle > Create > PDF from Scanner
Scanner > Please select a device
    The Epson scanner isn't listed.

I found the answer, thanks to this link:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1054100
The solution is to go to Epson's site, and download the software that's specific to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) for my scanner. In my case, I installed both the ICA driver and the EpsonScan software specific for OS X 10.6 for the Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner.
    Unfortunately, Epson's Lion page:
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supportLion.jsp
points you to Apple's Software Update page for Epson drivers for Lion. While this is generally good advice (these were needed and appropriate for Image Capture and Photoshop CS6), the older 10.6 drivers and software from Epson are also required for Adobe Acrobat Pro X to "find" the scanner.

  • Apple Airport Express is not recognized

I bought an Apple Airport Express to help boost and/ or extend my Wi-Fi. Prior to this, I was using a combination modem/ router that my ISP provided. Anyway, I attached an Ethernet cable from my router to the WAN port on the back of my Airport Express. As I understand, it should then appear in Airport Utility, but nothing shows up. The device just blinks amber green. The error message in Airport Utility says, “No Configured Airport Base Stations have been found.” My Internet is otherwise working fine, but Airport Utility fails to recognize it. What could be wrong?

Power up the Express for a few minutes
Hold in the reset button on the Express firmly for 10 seconds
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
If Mavericks or the iOS devices cannot see the Express, you have a defective Express.
Note....the Express will not "boost" or "extend" the signal from your wireless router wirelessly....unless you have another Apple router.

  • ProEngineer files are not recognized by Acrobat 9 Pro Ext.

It seems that Acrobat has problems with the numbers at the end of Pro Engineer Files.
When you save a file in Pro E the file get a number at the end which marks the version of the file. So the name of a Pro E file is:
    "Filename.prt.1"
save it again in Pro E generates a file named
    "Filename.prt.2"
When I open Acrobat and choose "File/Create PDF/From File" and went to a folder with Pro E files, I can't see anything. Under File type there is "All known fileformats" set. I can set it to "Pro/Engineer" but that doesn't change anything.
Only when I delete the number at the end of the ProE file I can choose it in Acrobat.
When I edit an existing pdf-document and want to insert a 3d file from ProE I mark an area with the 3D-Tool and choose a file. In this fact I can see also files with numbers at the end. But when I choose this file and press OK Acrobat tell me that the file is not supported. Only a file with no number at the end works.
Is there a patch the make Acrobat recognizing ProE files with numbers at the end? Or some other help?

With the second one the problem was not not to inactivate the object.
When I have two objects on different sites and I want to show it to our customers I will navigate in the first site to a specila view. Then I change to the other site and navigate also to a specila view. Now I will go back to the first site to compare the to objects. But the view has been inactivating. It should be still activated when I scroll across the document when I set the option "Deactivate when = clicking on it and choose deactivate" Because with this option you said that it could only be deactivated when you explicit click on the object and choose deactivate. Thats the way it worked in Acrobat83D.
Thanks for the workaround with "Show toolbar" Now I can set the toolbar to "not shown" Thats excellent at presentation for customers beacuse there the toolbar is distracting.
b Now we have a bug list with four items:
*Open menu that does not recognize some filename extension
*Create object with 3D-Tool creates an error when choose ProE file with version number.
*Setting the option for 3D-object after creating it. (toolbar hide)
*Set the "deactivate when" option to "deactivate only when you click on it and choose deactivate" makes the object deactivating also when you navigate to other sites. It should still be activate.

  • Lion incompatible with Epson Expression 1600 Scanner

I've tried everything the Epson site tells me to do. I've even emailed Epson back & forth, "speaking" with an Epson Rep. Ultimately, he said the problem is not with the scanner and to check the Apple website for updates. I find no updates on Apple's website for Epson scanners.
The scanner works perfectly fine with Snow Leopard (on another hard drive in the same computer, a Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 Dual-Core intel Xeon, with nothing new in Software updates) but I get error messages if I try to use Image Capture, Preview, or Photoshop in Lion.
    Can anyone help?

  • HP Officejet 8600 is not recognized by Acrobat 9.5.5 when trying to scan

When trying to create a PDF document via Acrobat (file/create PDF), Adobe does not recognize my new HP Officejet 8600 print/scan/fax/etc.  Any solutions?

Make sure you have the latest and greatest TWAIN driver from HP.
If that does not work output TIFF files from the scanner then use Acrobat to create PDF from the TIFF.
    Be well...

  • Password not recognized in acrobat 8.1.2

I've created five pdfs in acrobat that have forms. I've had to secure the pdfs, and submitted passwords for the five pdfs. When I went back to revise the pdfs, acrobat says the password is incorrect. I experimented and created a new pdf with a new password. Once again, acrobat said the password is incorrect. I do not have the caps lock key on. I'm about to lose my mind. How do I get to work on these completed files again?

  • Duplex Scanning from Canon MX7600 Not Recognized in Acrobat 9 Pro

I am trying to duplex scan in PDF docs with a new Canon MX7600 scanner. The utility that comes with the printer has a complete duplex scan utility which includes PDF docs, but limits the names to around 28 characters which is not enough for our naming conventions. Also, I cannot scan directly to Secure PDF's. Nor can I set it to automatically ask for Meta Tags.
The Acrobat Create PDF Scan only recognizes or offers the standard set which does not include duplex scanning. Canon tells me that the naming length limitation is built into the software design. They suggested that I contact Adobe and so I am.
How do I get Acrobat 9 Pro to duplex scan directly into Acrobat?
Thanks and all the best, Craig.

They sometimes monitor, particularly in the last month or so. However, most of the answers here come from users. In many cases you might find the answers from users to be more useful than from tech support, unless it is an off the wall problem no one has run into or tried. Typically when you scan from Acrobat, there is a settings selection on the window where you select to scan. That may be where you can find what you want. As far as I know, the information in the settings is only what is made available to Acrobat through the product twain driver.
The other suggestion to try to scan into another product, such as a graphics package, might help you get a better feel of what is possible. You might also check the manual if you have not done that already.

  • Licence not recognized in acrobat

After my hard drive failed, I tried to reinstall Acrobat. It doesn't recognize my licence. I think it is confusing my Creative Cloud account (I have Photoshop) with the original download I purchased. What can I do? I think my original Adobe ID was my email address but it isn't working.

Here are a couple places you can try

Several times recently, I bates-numbered the pages, had to shuffle or add or remove pages, did so, and then tried to renumber. Each time I got the message that Acrobat could not find any Bates numbering even though I had added Bates numbering via Acrobat myself only minutes earlier.

  • Epson Stylus SX205 not recognized as printer, only as scanner

I try to get my Epson Stylus SX205 printer/scanner to work on my ArchLinux, but can't. The scanner part works fine, but the printer part doesn't. I have tried all the tricks in the wiki article on Cups, including adding udev rules as suggested in the section on "Device node permissions", but to no avail.
I don't know what information to post yet, other than this:
    Kernel: 3.6.5-1-ARCH
    Cups:1.6.1-6
    Printer driver: epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.2.2-1
    Not (yet) using systemD
Any help/pointer will be much appreciated.
    /Bent
Edit: I forgot to mention that I get this message in the system: "udev-configure-printer: no corresponding CUPS device found"

    Step 1
Open the Sharing pane in System Preferences. If the Computer Name is not set, enter a name. You may first have to click the lock icon in the lower left corner and authenticate to unlock the settings.
Credit for this solution to ASC user Yuengdog1983.
    Step 2
If there's no improvement after Step 1, restore the following folder from the last backup you made before the EPSON update:
    /Library/Printers/EPSON
You may have to reset the printing system for the change to become effective.
