Epson Photo 950 and 10.4.6, full page printing and colour match

Hi all, having a couple of problems firstly (and yes I downloaded the latest drivers from Epson) I cannot print full page, there is always about an inch space at one end of my picture (A4) and borderless seems to be impossible altogether.
Secondly, colours are way off, greys appear dark green, what settings should I use, and under OS9 colour match was perfect but now using the same settings its all wrong.
Any help would greatly appreciate.

Turns out the solution was to use Printer Setup Repair from Fix-a-Mac.
Used it to backup the printing system, then pushed all its buttons and rebooted. Result, printer auto-detected and set up correctly and the iPhoto printing problem is apparently resolved.

I also have this problem printing photos from an iPad to an Epson WF-2540 printer. It prints only 4x6 and without border (so print starts at extreme top left corner of paper). Borderless printing is not selected on printer. Printing a square photo just crops to 4x6 size.

I use Photoshop Elements 12 for my photos. I have a constant problem where my photos don't print like they appear on the screen. They come out darker than the screen shows. If brighten them in the program, I have to almost make the photo appear "white" in order to look good printed. ?????? What can I do to fix this problem??

I am ready to bet that your display is much, much too bright (like all displays at factory settings.
Why Are My Prints Too Dark

Trying to print w/ an Epson Photo R260 and a Buffalo LPV3 USB Print Server

Long story. I had a home network with my iMac, my wife's PC and a Brother Multi-Function (networkable) printer...everything worked great. Tried to add an Epson Photo R260 so I can print photos and DVDs. Purchased a Buffalo LPV3 USB Print Server. Spent two long nights on the phone with Buffalo Tech Support (great guys!) and got the printer working with both the iMac and PC...so it seemed. Turns out the Epson would print documents from the iMac, but not CD/DVDs...it kept telling me that the CD Printer Driver wasn't installed. After several calls to Epson Tech Support (not so great), found out that the culprit was the Gutenprint Printer Driver that the Epson was using with the Buffalo Server via Bonjour. Replaced the Gutenprint with the proper Epson driver and everything is hunky-dory...as long as the Epson printer is plugged directly into the back of my iMac. As soon as I connect it to the Buffalo Print Server, it stops working.
I'm no rocket surgeon, but it seems to me that if when I'm setting up the printer with Bonjour, if I could direct it to find the proper driver, everything would be happy and I could print away. Any ideas how I can make all this wonderful stuff work together? I'd even be willing to forgo using the Epson on the network if there's a good (and relatively inexpensive) way of making the printer work with my iMac via Bluetooth. Thanks...

For the record, I have successfully been able to print with the printer connected straight to the Macbook.

Netgear WNDR3700, Tp-Link WPS510U, Epson Photo 1400 and PowerRIPX: wireless connection

Hi All
I need some advice regarding a wireless connection to my inkjet printer.
I have recently replaced my router with a Natgear WNDR3700 dual band device (2.4G and 5G). Connected and working wirelessly are my MacBook Pro, iPhone, Zeppelin Air, smart TV. Connected and working wired are my satellite modem, VoIP ’phones and laser printer.
However, I have an Epson Photo 1400 with a Tp-Link WPS510U which isn’t working. It worked with the old router.
Netgear’s Genie application shows the printer to be available under AirPrint.
The printer driver I use is PowerRIPX PostScript.
The TP-Link has the correct IP address from the previous configuration (192.168.1.10).
Printing shows the document processing in the print queue, but there is no flashing green LED on the front of the printer and no output results.
So … how do I actually get this to work? Advice gratefully received.

Epson Photo R300 and Classic

I have Epson photo R200 which works in classic. I bought the R300 but cannot get it to work in classic. Epson said printer works in system 9 but not in classic. Is there a way to get R300 to work in classic?

I posted last year (August) as Sulhamstead, but I forgot my password, so after going through the process of resetting my password, I had to create a new account, hence Sulhamstead1.
I have a similar problem (self inflicted) with an Epson printer (SP1400) which works cool in OSX, but OS9 won't be able to find it. Just had a v. quick look at the Gutenprint link you provided. Probably because I am being either thick or impatient, I need to ask; is Gutenprint and Gimp-print aiming to enable classic to see stuff that only has OSX drivers, or is it an alternative to drivers supplied by the printer makers?
Bottom line is that I have some OS9 apps that as yet, I do not have the funds to upgrade (or rather, my wife, who's apps they are, doesn't want to spend the money) to OSX versions, so would like to be able to see the printer from Classic.
If I had spent more time looking at the fine print regarding supported OS and less time looking at the longevity comparisons between Epson's inks, I would have got an R1800, which is supported under OS9. I hate making stupid errors like that, but it is done now, hence looking for help.
In an online chat with Epson, the following suggestions were made:

If there's anyone out there that could add weight or not to this, I'd appreciate it.

Full ink cartridges, test page prints in colour but any other printing is black and white

I've replaced low ink cartridges cyan and magenta, not empty, and despite the test page printing colour, any other printing is in black and white.
I chosen to print in colour when given the option.
Help!

I see that you are unable to print color from your Chromebook to your Officejet 6700, but it will print color test pages and the inks are full. I would like to offer a Thread that has some great suggestions in it for this issue.

Book workflow and colour match

Hallo,
I take all pictures in RAW mode. Now I have designed a book with these pictures and have some doubts if I order it that it will be printing in right colours. Because normally all book makers need the files in the sRGB format.
Or is Aperture so intelligent and convert it automatically ?

Each make and model of digital camera has a proprietary colour preprocessing, somewhat the same as the proprietar colour preprocessing in physical film. Kodak Kodachrome does not render the same scene as Kodak EktaChrome, Kodak EktaChrome does not render the same scene as Agfa, and so on and so forth. These proprietary colour preprocessing 'looks' are preserved in the raw file format, and the colour management system that renders these 'looks' relative to an ICC colour space characterisation, e.g. sRGB or AdobeRGB.
When you colour correct your colour capture and then save it out to disk as a digital original, the ICC colour space characterisation becomes your SOURCE profile. Your SOURCE profile defines what (CIE) COLOURS the (RGB) COLOURANTS in your digital original should reproduce. When I open your digital original, the SOURCE profile you embedded is automatically used to construct a ColourWorld. In the profile you embedded to Device to PCS Profile Connection Space transform is used and in the ColourWorld my system constructs the DESTINATION is the ICC profile for the state of my colour display. The CMM Colour Matching Module then converts the colourants pixel by pixel in memory without changing your digital original. You still have the same RGB values and you still have the same embedded ICC profile.
Now, if you follow so far, in what way are you able to work with the colour management system? Well, first and foremost you don't want to define your colourants through a colour space with a small size and small shape in the PCS Profile Connection Space. Similarly, if with an SLR and Kodak EktaChrome you shoot a colour humming bird, you could corrupt your shot if your development did not preserve as much as possible of the colour you had to begin with.
So, open the Apple ColorSync Utility, select an sRGB profile, select La*b Plot > Hold for Comparison, select an AdobeRGB profile (you may have several installed). Note that you can't see the sRGB colour space as it is contained completely within the Adobe RGB colour space. Now start by selecting the Adobe RGB profile, hold it for comparison, and select the sRGB profile. The shape and size of the Adobe RGB colour space is dimmed, and inside it you see the sRGB colour space. Now try comparing the sRGB colour space with the colour spaces of good quality large format inkjets configured with bright papers and photo archival inks.
If you can't identify a colour in your source colour space, you can't image that colour in your destination colour space. It is irrelevant whether your destination colour space in fact contains the colour, because the colour is not in your source colour space.
Similarly, if I have to input character information in ANSI X3.4 American Standard Code for Information, first published in 1968, I can't interchange character information that calls for characters not in ANSI X3.4 American Standard Code for Information Interchange.
Don't use sRGB. It is simple set theory.

P2035 - Windows 2000 - holds in buffer until full page prints

We recently installed the P2035 printers onto computers using Windows 2000. It will print - but it will "hold" the print job until it has a full page to print. It will time out and eventually print (even a section of a page) after about 3 minutes. We want it to print immediately even if it is just a small paragraph, etc. Is there a setting somewhere that I can change so that it doesn't wait to print small print jobs?

About all driver ? Oh, in fact, I'll try to see if the XP ones work and if not I'll have a not-fully working Win 2K, but it will be enough for me to test my programs... I hope, at least, I'll be able to do display driver work !
Well, seeing I don't succeed using Intel/Toshiba drivers and nLite, I'm trying at this time to go through another way, installing Win2K in a VMware, then forcing install of the Toshiba AHCI driver, then doing a TrueImage of this and restauring in the Toshiba ! I'll see...
However, if someone has an idea, don't hesitate.
EDIT : I'm now at the step to try to force the Store Manager driver from Toshiba (the one given for this model under XP), launching iata_cd.exe and after some second I see a message saying that this OS (Windows 2000) is not supported by this driver... So, from now, I clearly know why this driver failed when I gone through the nLite-customized Win2K CD install directly on the Satellite :-(
So, this change the game : does it exist a Windows 2000 compatible driver for the Satellite L300-16M's AHCI Controller ??? This is the question !

Firefox does not print in full web pages. It prints at best the left half of the page. This has only happened recently. It is not my printer as I get full page printing from from Internet explorer and other applications. Help!

Firefox has started printibg only the left side of a web page . I have tried adjusting the settings without any success in fact it made the print area even smaller. I have adjusted all the settings on the print menu but cannot overcome this. How can I return to printing full web pages?

Having touble capturing full page print out from G mail.

I have a Mac. Bad idea as a PC person. I try and print using the file print command from the firefox bar. When I do I get only a column of information and not the whole e-mail information.
I have checked the settings in both Mac and FireFox and they are both set for capture on screen and print at 8 X 11 format. That does not happen when I want an email printer out... HELP!!!!!! Do I need to go to G-mail too? Cabella

I am not sure what is causing the inconsistency in selected pages not printing, but I'd be happy to help.
Let's reset the printing system, repair disk permissions, re-add the printer using the right driver, and try to scan again.
Reset Printing System
Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan dialog box opens.
Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Repair Disk Permissions
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer and add the printer back.
When you add the printer, please ensure you are using the HP driver.
Select Add other Printer or Scanner
Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can select the printer driver
I look forward to hearing from you. If the issue remains unresolved, I will post instructions to completely scrub the HP software from the computer and start fresh.

*Full page bleed

I have my printer (Epson 300) set for full page printing and it will print that way in CS5. In LR3 I cannot get it to print full page. The bleed space at the bottom of the page is 1/2" and I cannot (in custom moode) move a cell into that bottom 1/2". How can I change this to be able to use that space?

Maybe you have already done this. But in the Print module you need to set all of the margin sliders to 0. Then you need to go into Page Setup (button in the left-hand panel) and choose the appropriate printer settings. Also, in the right-hand panel under Image Settings, be sure to check the option, "Zoom to Fill".

When printing anything off the internet it shrinks the full page into one forth of the full page. How can i print using the enitre page?

Every time I use firefox I can't print full pages off the internet. I will find the page I want, for example, map quest. I push the print button and my printer prints the entire page in one forth of the space. The entire page I printed can be found in the upper left hand corner of the full page, just shrunk down to a fourth of its size. How can i get a full page printed from the internet?

How do I print Keynote slides full-page

I am testing Keynote 08 and can't seem to be able to print my slides correctly. I don't want a 3 cm margin around the slide on the paper, but the regular full-page print out. No matter what I do, I always get margin. Any clues?

i am not sure if i understand your question correctly, but are you referring to the empty spaces on the margins that perhaps you want to fill up by making the slide take up the entire space? if so, here's a solution i worked out recently for Keynote 08
1. go to File>Page Setup
2. in the paper size menu, choose custom size
3. create a new Paper Size with a name like "Handout Size" or something
4. in the printer margins, choose user defined and set all the margins to zero, or any other appropriate values for you ...
This should make the slides fill up the empty spaces. Hope it helps.

I am trying to print a passport sized headshot and I get a full page photo isntead. I downloaded the shot from i photo and chose "small" but it didn't help.
I also cropped the photo on iphoto to the dorrect size but no difference. I have a Canon MX 870 printer. Please advise.
