Epson Photo Stylus RX600 - Communication Error  Airport Express

I have an Airport Extreme as my primary router and I have connected two Airport Express boxes as range extenders. On one of them, I have connected the Epson Photo Stylus RX600 printer. When I go to the Airport Express Utilities, I can clearly see that the printer is connected fine. However, when I ping the printer I am getting a Communication Error. I cannot print anything. Can someone lead me to an old post that could help in connecting the printer. I'd love to be able to wirelessly print via my home network

You can't "ping" that printer in the Internet sense, as it doesn't have a network interface.
Did you use the "Print & Fax" panel of System Preferences to try to add that printer? It should appear under the "Default" view.
Here's some additional advice from Apple:

I need a driver for Epson Photo Stylus 2200 for my  OS 10.5.8 Power PC G5. Does anyone know where to locate one? Epson does not support this version of the Mac. • Problem communicating with Airport express

I have had a smal home network for some time. Set up is AEBS, AXBS as client to use airtunes to the stereo, an iMac that connects via wire to the AEBS, and a wireless Macbook. No security enabled. Today I was streaming some music, and burning some cd's with the macbook, when I noticed a very strange thing in the istat pro widget. In the network section it read in: 1 mb , out 104 mb. The computer had acted strange, as in very slow, so I freaked out and suspected someone was connected to my network and sucking info (or something) out of it. So I went ahead and enabled WEP security. Everything worked fine with the Macbook and the AEBS, even with the iMac, but I can't get pass a "there is a problem communicating with the base station" when I tried to change the settings in the AXBS. I tried to do it wireless and through internet to no avail...
I hope some onecan point me in the right direction
    thanks in advance

    2 Possibilities:
    1) AirPort Utility on your computer has become corrupted. Delete the current application located Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility, restart your computer and then reinstall the application.
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/#airport
    2) The AirPort Express device is not fully resetting to factory defaults due to an internal component problem. If you've tried the factory default reset a number of times and still can't configure the device, it will need to be replaced.

  • Communicating with Airport express that has been joined to another network

This had previously worked correctly so I'm confident its achievable. I have an airport express that's mounted on my piano, which has speakers. I have joined my airport express to my wireless netgear router to optimize signal strength (this was done on the advice of apple tech support). I have a linksys wireless adapter on my PC which I use to connect to the netgear that then allows me to use my itunes to then play music on the piano. Currently, the itunes does not see the speakers and only allows me to play using the computer's speakers. Is there a way I can get itunes to "see" the speakers without unjoining or doing a hard reset on the airport express?

When setting up the AE originally, I had asked Windows to open up the firewall for the Utility and had not expected this to be the problem. But turning off the firewall did the trick!
    Thanks.

  • "no valid IP address" error airport express as bridge with Dlink router

    Hi there
I've read through many many posts and am unable to find the answer to my issue. I am trying to use my DLink DR 615 router as my main wireless router and then connect my airport express (brand new - n connection) wirelessly as a bridge. I would then connect my WD Live box to the ethernet port and connect the stereo connection to my receiver for itunes. at least, that's the theory.
Right now, I can't even connect. when I go through the manual process, I selected "connect through wireless network" and left the "configure IPv4" as "using DHCP".
problem is that it comes up as my wireless device does not have a valid IP address. Can someone help me step through how to make this work?
    thanks so much!

Suggest that you start over by holding in the reset button until the amber light blinks quickly. Hold another second or two and release.
Temporarily, connect an ethernet cable from your computer to the AirPort Express (AX) to help with the configuration. You can disconnect the cable when you have the AX configured.
Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons
Set Wireless Mode to "Join a wireless network"
(If you don't see this choice, hold down the option key on your computer as you click the selection box)
Wireless Network Name...the name of the wireless network created by your DLink should appear as a choice. Click to select.
Put a check mark in the box to Allow Ethernet Clients
Wireless Security...must exactly match the security settings of your DLink network
Wireless Password...must exactly match the settings of your DLinkk network
Click Update and AX will restart in 15-20 seconds.
You can move the AX to the desired location and hook up the ethernet cable. If your DLink is compatible with the ProxySTA function, you will connect.

  • Printer ICM Epson Photo Stylus 2200

New computer with Window 8 64 bit.  Installed Epson Stylus Photo 2200 printer.  Download windows 8 driver update epson15163.exe with stylus driver v5.93.  After setting Photoshop manages color for printing, subsequently in advanced tab, highlighting ICM causes error message:" Printer driver host for application has stopped working."  Any resolution available?  Can only print image by allowing printer to manage color.

I think I found a work around. I am also having this problem. I went to Control Panel > View Devices and Printers > Select the Epson 2200 Printer Properties *NOT PREFERENCES* (right click will get you a menu to select this) > Advanced > Printing Defaults > click ICM > click No Color Adjustment > select the other details for the print job > click Save Setting > give the setting a name and click save > NOW, go to the print settings from printing out of photoshop and apply the saved setting you just created and it should change to have both "ICM" and "No Color Adjustment" clicked.
I've been looking every where for a fix, explaination or work around to this and I haven't found anything. I think this is a Windows 8 64-bit problem...but it could just be us, too. Let me know if this worked for you!
I'm working with WIndows 8 64-bit, running Adobe Photoshop CS2.

  • I am on Lightroom 4 and using a Epson photo stylus R300 printer and cannot seem to put Hahnemuehle paper profiles on to it, anyone know how?

Anyone know how to put paper profiles onto a Epson R3000 printer via Lightroom 4?

    Installation using Mac OS:
    1. Double-click on the downloaded Zip-file. The ICC profile will be extracted in the same folder automatically.
    2. Now move the extracted ICC profile to the proper folder listed below.
Mac OS 8-9x - System Folder > Color Sync Folder
    Mac OS X - HD > User > Library > ColorSync > Profiles
Note: Please restart your graphics application (eg photoshop) if it was open during the profile installation.

  • "Communication Error" message when printer is the AirPort-connected

After two years of using (and hundreds of pages printed), the printing on the Epson Stylus Photo R340, connected to the AirPort Express ('n' edition) ends just after a few centimeters of printing (now it's in 100% cases), showing one of the error messages below:
    - Printer paused (resuming/re-pausing leads to no further progress). In this case the printer is sometimes paused also un System Preferences > Print & Fax, but resuming in this level again leads to no progress
    - Printer shows "Communucation Error"
    - Printing dialog shows no error or pausing, but the result is the same as above
Removing the print task in printing dialog doesn't have any influence on the printer. In all these cases it's necessary to turn off the printer to start from the beginning.
When the printer is connected straight to the computer via USB cable, it prints as expected.
There were no software installations recently, except Apple system updates via Software Update.
Does it mean that Apple kisses the air printing goodbye or there's still hope to fix it?
    Thanks for any ideas

    Hello Syd,
thanks a lot for your suggestions. I appreciate Epson is monitoring forums like this! As I wrote above though, some of them I mentioned as performed (printer connected straight to USB port of the Mac). I also several times erased all the printers and added them again fresh, but unfortunately all still the same.
Just a few weeks ago, I printed a few dozens of pages and this happened after every about 20 pages and after printer restart, I was able to continue. Since I started this topic, the printer will not finish any single page over the AirPort Express, but prints fine when connected directly to the mac via USB.
I just don't want to bring it across the house (yes, I know I can share it on one computer for the others, but there's no room near the computer I work on and in addition, it worked before...).
So it looks like bad luck for me so far...

  • Printing with Epson 3800 via Airport Express

I'm trying to get my Epson 3800 printer working over a Airport Express connection (3800 -> USB on Airport Express). The printer is showing up fine, however when I get to the print dialog I don't have all the advanced controls as I do when printing directly connected to the computer (printer settings and advanced media control).
What do I need to do to get those working?
OSX 10.6.3 with the current 3800 driver (6.11) and firmware (o02179_q).

    Hello Jeff,
There could be one of two things causing this.
    1. The print dialog is not expanded. When you select to print, if you only see the Printer name and the Presets menu, then you need to click the triangle next to the printer name. This will expand the print dialog view and show you all the menu options.
    2. If the print dialog is expanded but the menu options are different, then you may have created the print queue for the Airport connection using the Gutenprint driver. If you open Print & Fax and select the 3800 queue for the Airport connection, in the right hand pane you can see what driver is being used in the Kind section. If this shows Epson 3800 - Gutenprint v5.x.x, then you have created this print queue using the Gutenprint driver rather than the Epson driver. The Gutenprint driver usually provides most of the functions you would require, they are generally just located under different menus. So you can choose to keep using the Gutenprint driver or delete this queue and create it again, ensuring you select the correct Epson driver.

  • Epson R320, Airport Express & 10.4

Can anyone confirm if an Epson R320 printer will work with Airport Express using Mac OS 10.4? I currently have a Canon i850 that worked pre-Tiger, but pos-Tiger it hasn't worked at all . I want to be able to connect it to my Airport Express so that I can print wirelessly from either my PowerBook or my wife's PC laptop.
    Thanks .

    Henry,
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure if the site you gave applies to Mac OS 10.4 though - my current printer, a Canon i850, is listed as compatible, and while it worked fine under 10.3, it stopped working as soon as I put 10.4 on, apparently it's a known Canon issue .

  • Airport Express as Print Server Have to Recycle it all the time.

Airport Express as a print server
I have an Epson Stylus R280 on an Airport Express.
When I wait a day or so and then go to print, I always have to unplug the Airport Express and plug it in again to get the printer to print. I have the newest driver for the printer.

Is this message box indicating the Airport Express is re-connecting to your internet service and if so, is this Airport Express connected to a DSL internet service that uses the PPPoE protocol to connect? If so, run the Airport Admin Utility, select your Express, click on the Configure button, click on the Internet tab, and check the box to "always stay connected". Update settings to the Airport Express.

  • Can't connect to an extended Airport Express?

My network is set up in the following way (see photo) 1 Time Capsule + 2 Airport Express to extend the network.
No computers or devices can connect to the Airport Express named "AE02"? They all ONLY connect to the middle Airport Express called "AE01" even though they are like 20 cm from AE02??
What am I doing wrong? Anyone else has this problem?
    Thanks

Thanks, Huge bummer... How come the Airport Expresses connect that way if not allowed?!
I found the answer just like 'Tesserax' pointed out.

  • Multiple Printer Communication Errors after July Mavericks Upgrade

Running multiple machines and printers, including:
    - iMac 2014; MacBook Pro 2013; iMac 2011; Tower 2010 / Mavericks
    - HP 8500 / USB and AirPrint / "Communication Error while Scanning"
    - Dymo Twin Turbo / USB / "Printer is Offline"
    - HP 400, HP 2430, Epson 3800 / LAN / No communication errors
Since latest upgrade, my machines have stopped communicating with these printers. Those machines running Mountain Lion (two older Towers and MacMini) an still print and scan. I have dumped and re-installed all drivers. Have powered-down, disconnected, and reconnected all printers multiple times.
Can scan to HP using web interface. Dymo is dead in water with anything running Mavericks. Because both the trouble printers are connected USB, I'm thinking that is the smoking gun. Anyone else in the same boat?
Hoping a patch is in the work. Thanks.

    Haven't heard of that before.
Before anything else - Apple has changed their print driver paradigm. Manufacturers give current drivers to Apple who have it on their server for automatic download/install when you add the printer in Print & Scan prefs. Since 10.8, you don't normally install drivers (Dymo is probably an exception). HP even includes instructions for this on their web site.
You need to try some generic maintenance first.
    Reset the Printing System:
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system
Restart from the Recovery partition (or some other bootable drive), and repair the normal boot drive using Disk Utility:
(read the 1st paragraph about how to start in Recovery)
OS X: About OS X Recovery
