Epson PictureMate and LR - colors are way off

Have the original 'toaster' PictureMate on Vista. The drivers are built-in and Epson's site doesn't have Vista-centric drivers for it, so I am good there I guess.
In the LR Print module I am able to choose the printer and adjust the properties of the printer through the printer driver/windows dialog boxes but cannot see where to turn off color-management. Leaving LR with 'let printer manage colors' just gives me muted, gray colors.
If I use LR to choose a profile just brings up an empty dialog box... so obviously there are not any profiles loaded with the driver?
Looked online for Profiles and couldn't find any.
Does anyone have any idea on how to disable printer managed colors OR how to get a profile for the PictureMate series?
Resorted to exporting and printing from Windows Photo Gallery which works, but extra steps...

Have you removed the print cartridges and cleaned the contacts both on the catridges and were they sit i the printer with a lint free cloth and some bottled water? If you have and that does not help the issue it would be time to upgrade that printer.

Photosmart 8250 colors are way off

Photosmart 8250 has been a great printer for several years. (out of warranty now of course) I haven't had any paper or photo, 4x6, feeding problems at all, and have only had one paper jam. Lately the color printing has gone bad. I use only HP inks, never have used a "refill" in the printer. Lately I saw an error on the printers screen, it was about the paper sensor being faulty. I only saw this once. There also has been a small red blotch on the bottom edge of some of the prints, this is new, so I am pretty sure I need this printer serviced. It still looks new and has been without all of the other issues I read about I would rather have this one fixed rather than an exchange.
The paper sensor supposedly senses the type of paper and sets the printing parameters accordingly as I understand this so far. I have never taken this printer apart, but I have done so on other printers. Has anyone replaced a paper sensor in a printer such as this? Maybe its not a big deal, but then again, maybe its better that a tech that does it all of the time should do it?
Today is Sunday after Christmas, i will call HP support, this week but any advice in the meantime.

The paper sensor is used when the paper type is set to "Automatic", you can override this by setting the paper type manually in the driver.

Lightroom 2 & 3 Beta color, contrast WAY off on display 2

Lightroom 3 Beta 2 / Windows 7 64bit / Dual calibrated displays
Display 1 connections are HDMI out to digital in, display 2 is digital out to digital in.
PROBLEM
In both the Lightroom 3 Beta 2, and Lightroom 2 v2.6 632038, color, contrast and so on are WAY off on my number 2 monitor. If I drag a Photoshop CS4 window from the left display to the right display I see no difference, looks fine. This is also true with Picasa 3, and iMatch Digital Image Management software and preview images in Picasa photo viewer. The issue seems to be just with Lightroom.

If you want to, you could zero out all the settings and then save this as a preset and then automatically that preset to all imported images. Not really sure why you would want to do this though. All your images look pretty flat. The default settings do a fair job of approximating what you see on the back of you camera when you made the shot and give you a good place to start. I tried zeroing things out for a while, and then found out I was bringing every image pretty much back to the defaults, and so stopped doing that.

On my screen the image is clear and the colors are right, However when I print to either my epson of HP the image color is off.

On my Mac screen my photo image is clear and the color are right, however when I print to either my epson 2200 or my HP printer bother the colors are off and the image is not as clear as on the screen.

Lightroom 2.2 Printing Problems...color is way off

I have had issues with printing in Lr but never really cared since I used Zoombrowser to print most of my stuff for "around the house" and everything always looked fine (even if I modified the image in LR and printed from Zoombrowser). The colors coming from printing in Lr were always way off when using my Pixma IP4300.
I just purchased a Epson 3800 and now I would like to start using Lr for printing. I have tried everything I know and the colors are still way off when printed from Lr. I selected the appropriate color profile in LR for the printer and paper type, I turned off ICC color in the printer setup menu and the color is still off. If I save the Lr photo and print from Zoombrowser then it looks perfectly fine (still turning off ICC).
Now that I have a nice printer I'd love to be able to print right from Lr as it would save me alot of time and significantly increase my options.

I doubt the reason that I didn't get any replies is because people assumed I didn't search. There is no way of knowing who did and didn't search the forums before offering to help someone.
I searched the forums and found no problems similar to mine using the same OS, printer and Lr version.
Here is my problem with some more detail:
I am using Lr 2.2 64bit, Vista Ultimate 64, Epson 3800 Pro (6.5 drivers), Premium Lustre Photo Paper.
Here is what I am doing.
1) When in Lr and ready to print I select the Lr profile as "Pro38 PLPP" which is the 3800 Paper profile that is in the list of available profiles for Lr.
2) I select Relative (perceptual didn't appear to change anything)
3) I click "print" then I am taken to the 3800 selection menu.
4) I click properties next to the selected printer, I leave everything alone except for "mode"...I chaneg it from Auto to Custom and then select No color adjustment. Everything else appears fine...the paper type is correct etc. But when print the photo the reds come out pinkish etc etc. All of the colors are pretty far off.
I reinstalled the 64bit drivers from epson and nothing changed.
Any ideas?

If the device screen looks inverted, try triple tapping your home button. OR, you could tap settings, general, accessibility, and make sure invert colors is off. Not sure what you mean about the screen being shaky, unless you tapped too long on the screen, and the icons are wiggling. In which case tapping the home button will resolve that as well.

right click a blank area of the toolbar, click Customize. You'll see the printer icon there. Drag and drop it to where you want.
You can also find this option under View -> Toolbars -> Customize.

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

Here's what I've found on the issue:
Pantone color definitions have changed (coinciding with CS6) — they are now "Pantone+" (I think that's what they're called). The "+" apparently means they're now LAB colors. Lab colors are not properly displayed in Preview (or in Finder previews) — they display as black (as far as I can tell, in all circumstances). I'm sure it's a tad more complicated than that, but that's the gist.
Now the bad news — nobody seems to know anything about a fix or workaround (unless you convert your PDFs to process — this might be a fix for sending to clients). It causes issues for me in AI files — being able to view them in the finder (with previews) is a HUGE time saver for my workflow... when they're all black, not so much.
In my chat with a director of product dev at Adobe, they placed the responsibility to fix on Apple (assuming Apple wants to support Pantone color definitions in their OS).

Print Colours is all Programs on My MacBook Pro are Way Off

I'm having colour issues with printing in all programs.
The colours are muted and dark. Eg. Royal Blue becomes a Denim Blue. A bright pinkbecome a dusty rose. Reds are orange. Lime Green becomes Forest Green.
I have an HP 7500A printer. I experinced this difficulty with my old printer when I first got my Mac the printer was blamed and as it was 10 years old and dying I accepted that. Now my brand new printer has the same issue.
   I've change the printer profiles in Pages and General CKMY is closest to true it reduces the muting but the colours are still dark and the shades are off. It slows the printer big time. Automatic or Vendor is awful the colours are so far off. RGB is way off as well.
   The issue is worse on my own Mac specific creations but is persistant through out all programs iPhoto, Pages, Safari, Adobe Elements 9, Mail etc.
I've been working with HP and they can't figure it out. They have sent me a new print head and are sending me another one. Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software.
   I've quereyed help and looked through system settings etc and can't see where to fix or change the colour settings with in the Mac itself.
Can anyone out there shed some light on this.

P.S. I posted this in the iPhoto forum by mistake. Since then I checked out ColourSync and I get no profiles for anything except the calculater. Nothing for the Displays, Devices, Systems etc.

I have a new Epson R2000 and my prints are too dark. How do I get WYSIWYG?

I have turned off the color management on the R2000 and set Elements 10 to optimize for prints. I am trying to get WYSIWYG. This is complicated by a new LG Flatron IPS235 monitor. It is supposed to have the best factory calibrated color and Fry's Electronics said that it would be the truest, full range color. I have tried changing the mode to sRGB, photo mode, and user mode and the prints are always too dark. I would appreciate any help I can get. I am a scrapbooker working on photos of my world travel bucket list. At the rate I am going, I will kick the bucket before I get any photos printed. THANKS!

This goes against everything I have read about being sure that Photoshop controls the color.
Well, one can't believe eveything one reads. This problem comes up now and then on the forum pages, and we have been recommending to have the printer manage color, certainly not both PSE and the printer.
I have Epson and Lexmark printers, and I have it set up to let the printer manage color.
Works well on both units.

Creative Audigy 2 NX OLD and undercapable drivers are way below industry standa

Hello All,
I have tried not to push this, for the past year, but I have really reached the end of my patience. The driver support for the Audigy 2 NX (USB-External) sound card is nearly 'non-exsistant'and it is have a major adverse effect on my gaming.
It has been more than a year since Creative has taken the time to provide the many owners of the Audigy 2 NX -USB sound card with a driver that is anywhere near the capabilities of the sound chip in our device. We do NOT have support for Open AL, we do not have 'REAL' support for EAX 3 or 4 (I mean a driver that REALLY works on most; Lucasarts, EA, and Valve games), and NO HD 'Dependable' support in games or DVD play back.
This is a crime, seeing as this card costs JUST as MUCH as the Audigy 2 ZX (that I also own, and bought FIRST for my HP zd8230us... and used until HP Tech support told me to NOT use the PCMCIA card) and yet has Half the features and lass than /4 the driver support... for the same money!! That is right, I said 'Crime', because I have been buying and using ONLY Creative cards for the past years and have never EVER seen Creative turn their backs on a product the way they have done with the Audigy 2 NX.
Let me be 'Brutally Honest' about the lack of support and 'Expanding Use' of a FINE audio chipset. While Creative has regularlly expanded the features and use of the chipset in the ZS notebook card (added EAX 4.0 support, refined the HD support, and made regular driver updates), they have left the owners of the NX sound card BACK in the 20th Century. There is NO support for; EAX 4.0, Open AL, OR THX for my NX the very same people have gone out of their way to provide ALL of those features and regular updates and expansion of these SAME features in the ZX Notebook card. I have both of these cards, and have used both in my HP Pavilion zd8230us Notebook computer. I have to be clear and precise, the difference in; sound, use, and capabilities of the ZX to the NX is like putting a SB 'Li've' card against and Audigy 4 card. I paid the exact same amount of money for BOTH cards, yet (because my mobo does not support the PCMCIA card) I am left with this 'Black Sheep' of the Creative family, and this has me at the point I am seriously thinking of never buying another Creative product for ANY of my four desktops and one notebook in my entire life.
I am experiancing problems with the NX card on; Half Life 2 and HL2 - Episode , ANY Lucasarts game (they work sometimes and mostly do NOT), MOST EA Games titles, and Activision games are not much better. In my current notebook hardware, my Audigy 2 NX is the 'Weak Link' in the chain. I have a Pentium 4 HT 650 (3.4Ghz-800 Mhz FSB), ATI X-600 PCIe 28MB video card, 024 MB 533 MHz DDR2 RAM, and XP Professional with Media Center 2005. My Audigy 2 NX is what is keeping this system from reaching it's FULL and AWESOME capabilities in; Gaming, DVD playback, TV HD audio, Media Center On Line services, CD & DVD Audio playback, and every other Audio aspect of my near cutting edge system.
This is completely unacceptable, and to add insult to injury. When ever I contact Creative support regarding updated drivers, or problems with the current *MORE than year old drivers, I am told "Creative has no plans to update or upgrade the drivers for your sound card". WOW, that is the lowest point in years of purchasing and using Creatives (usually) fine products and services. Why has Creative turned it's back on the awesome sound card/chipset and is there ANYTHING that a lifetime user of Creative products can do to get more and better support for the ONLY product you make that is compatible (as per HP) with my new notebook computer? I am dead tired of this product being the 'Bottleneck' in my system. I am frustrated, to the extreme, at the completely apathetic technical support for a 'same priced' item as the ZX.
What can a consumer do?

OK, first; thanks for the link. It is very much appreciated. Next, this is the only card compatible with my Pavilion zd8230us (as per HP Senior Support Technicains). I was told that the Audigy 2 zx PCMICA was compatible (BY Creative), only to be told by HP that that card can and will do damage to my notebook. I find it very disturbing that Creative would suggest a product that would damage my computer! Last, the box (for the NX) says that it is 24 bit HD audio 96KHz/02db Signal to noise ratio. As well, it clearly states ON THE FRONT OF THE BOX:

"...EAX ADVANCED HD game effects" 

Sorry, but in English (at least American English) that means it supports EAX in games, yes? lol So, THEY Are the ones that decided to put that on the FRONT of the box, if it doesn't support it then they should have a class action lawsuit filed against them by EVERY SINGLE person that ever purchased an NX and we should be paid for; purchase price, pain and suffering, and puniti've damages. THEN Creative might learn a lesson. roflol

Now on to the 'driver' isssue. Simple, Alexs3d2, the American consumer expects 'Driver Updates'. Why? Simple, what version of Direct X was standard when the NX came out, and what version are we using now? Microsoft sees fit to improve the API that Creative is making money off of, but Creative does NOT see the responsibility to the consumer to keep UP with the technology that we end users update on a regular basis. Next, I am tired of people dogging ATI BECAUSE they have taken on the responsibility to issue monthly driver updates! Granted, Alex, you may well understand 'what' the driver updates ARE better than the average user. However, that does NOT dismiss the BETTER PERFORMANCE that WE experience every single we update or display adapter drivers! Just because slough (on the part of SOME companies) is accepted by a small cross section of the population does not mean that the rest of us should LOWER our expectations? of the company that WE keep in business. Least THEY forget that WE are the reason they ARE in business!!! Driver updates are GOOD. Driver updates are what end users EXPECT. Any company that does not want to support a product that is still on store shelves should just pack up and leave. Period. 

Last, here is a little quote from the back of the NX box. 

"USB 2.0 is only supported in Windows XP and REQUIRES ONLINE SOFTWARE update(s) from Microsoft and SOUNDBLASTER.COM..." 

How the hell am I supposed to accomplish THAT when Creative screws me out of what they tell me I require? 

In closing; this venue is not the only place that I have been sounding off a bout this problem. I have written Creative (SB) Tech support, and they are giving me 'double speak'. I have kept every single email that they have sent back, and cc'd to another email addy for verification. I li've in California, and you can not swing a dead cat without hitting an attorney. I WAS hoping that Creative would be GOOD and RESPONSIBLE partners, but they have forced my hand. I have filed a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, and am in the process of gathering users for the afore mentioned 'Class Action Lawsuit'. This way, the PEOPLE get to decide WHAT is responsible corporate stewardship, and IF Creative is acting in a deliberate way to misrepresent their products, and their capabilities and IF they should have to release Drivers just the way they tell us they are going to on the packaging!!

P.S. Umm, the whole Nazi thing... that is a bit over the top. I am Jewish, and Creative may have killed my love of their products, but I do not know of anyone that they have actually killed. If you know otherwise, let me know... that info could come in very handy in my class action lawsuit!! roflol
P.P.S. Looking at this forum, I get the impression that I am not the only person that feels screwed by SB and Creative. THAT should make for a VERY favorable jury pool for the lawsuit.

Whenever I visit sites that require Adobe Flash Player such as youtube, the colors are all off.

On sites like NicoNicoDouga and Youtube, the colors for things are completely off.
