Epson R2400 just stopped printing...

I have an Epson Stylus R2400 printer, it has worked fine for months but suddenly doesn't! My Mac (Mac mini with 10.3.9) can communicate with it fine, it checks the ink cartridges etc etc, but when it comes to printing it either says 'communication failiure' or just keeps trying to 'open printer connection'. I have tried it printing from Acrobat (which I usually use for prints no problem), Illustrator, Photoshop etc, and the result is the same. I know it's not the cable since the Mac does communicate with the printer to do tasks, but just won't print.
Any wise words?

You should check the troubleshooting section of Epson's web site and/or contact Epson's tech support to request assistance. I had a similar problem several months ago with another Epson printer and I submitted a tech support request via their web form. The next day, they sent me a response that solved the problem, so I suggest you do the same if you can't find the solution already documented on Epson's web site.

If that reset did not resolve the issue, and the printout indicates that the wireless radio is not working then there are a few options that we can go through.
First, make sure that through the Setup Menu that the wireless has been enabled and turned on. If these options are not available, you may have to try a differnet reset that I will PM to you.
Also, if the wireless radio is not functional then you might consider connecting the printer directly to the router using an Ethernet cord and reinstalling the printer on your computer using that method of communication.

Epson Stylus CX6600 stopped printing documents

Can someone advise me on troubleshooting an Epson printer that has abruptly stopped printing!
Background:
We normally use it via the Airport USB port, but I also have the driver installed for plugging it directly into the iMac in case the Airport goes down.
After printing from an application, the job appears in the print queue and immediately shows "Completed" status. This happens whether the printer is directly connected or is connected to the Airport.
However --> When I send a test page (Printer | Print Test Page from the print queue), the test page appears in the queue and prints normally, whether directly connected or via Airport. Strange?
I've tried printing from Microsoft Word, Textedit, and Microsoft Excel. The only change I can recall recently is replacing the black ink cartridge. Since then I've deleted and reinstalled the local print driver (a Gutenprint version - Epson provides no driver for this model).
I don't have another working printer to swap out and try.

Problem resolved: I "Reset the Printing System"

...then downloaded and installed Epson's EasyPrint software
(http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supAdvice.jsp?noteoid=48205&type=high lights)
...then re-added the printer, which still used the Gutenprint driver v5.1.3.
After all this, I was able to print again with the printer connected directly, then used AirPort Utility to add it as a wireless printer again, which now also works after adding the wireless printer to System Preferences.
Long and short, I don't know if the EasyPrint software was the solution, or just the Reset Printing System action. Either way, now it works!

This is the third time in the past several weeks when my printer just stopped printing for no reason

I have a windows 7 laptop and a HP 8500 officejet fax....my printer has stopped printing again....I have disconnected everything and it still won't print.

How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, or Wireless LAN? Are there any error messages?
Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.

Epson r2400 won't print - no driver in Software Update

Since I installed Mavericks the only driver that shows up when I add the printer is a third party "Gutenprint" driver that just doesn't work for squat. When I click software update there is no driver that shows up for Epson, even though Epson's website gives no direction on getting a driver except that you are supposed to do "Software Update" from the Apple menu. WHY are you using these junky third-party drivers? Has Epson not updated their driver for 10.9.2?

Epson 4630 just stopped showing on AirPrint?

Need help please, my air printer just disappeared?
I have an Epson WF 4630 that I have been using via Air Print on my normal personal WiFi network for a month without problem...UNTIL yesterday. For some reason I cannot detect my printer on my MacBookPro, my iPad, or my iPhone. All are logged into the same WiFi network. I turned off my printer and turned back on, didn't help. I reinstalled my WiFi (including my password that allows access) and the printer shows the correct network, accepted my password, and shows excellent strength. I have downloaded and used the App's from Apple store "Epson iPrint" and "EPSON Printer Finder", my Epson has disappeared.
When I go to use my printer that was previously working through my MacBookPro it says "printer not connected". When I try and AirPrint from my iPad, my iPhone, or even from a friends iPhone on the same WiFi network it says No Air Printers Found. Please can someone help me figure this out. I am completely at a loss.

I understand that you have an Epson printer which was used with AirPrint previously, but is no longer working as expected. You have already completed some good troubleshooting steps by reconnecting to the Wi-Fi network, but there are a few more steps I would suggest working through. Please refer to the attached article for more information.

If you're unable to print
Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."
Make sure your printer has paper, and enough ink or toner installed.
Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your Mac or iOS device.
Make sure your printer has power and is turned on. Try turning your printer off and then back on again to see if it resolves the issue.
Check to see if your printer has any error lights or indicators. Check the documentation that came with your printer to clear any errors displayed.
Check with your printer's manufacturer to see if any firmware updates are available for your printer. Check your printer's documentation or contact the printer vendor for more information. A firmware update may be available, even if you just bought your printer.
The information below is provided by each manufacturer and is updated once a month by Apple. You can use the Find feature of your web browser (usually Command-F) to search for a specific device in this list. Epson Artisian 810 stopped printing with Snow Leopard upgrade

That pretty much says it all ! I can't print! I can scan, check ink levels and clean up the head of the printer...but it won't print documents. I installed all the drivers from Apple's website.

URGENT HELP! my epson stylus sx105 stopped printing files, at all

I have a MacBook Pro 13" with Snow Leopard on, and my Epson Stylus SX105 always worked with it.
But now it's giving me this error: /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS /rastertoescpII faile
And does NOT let me print anything at all, besides print tests and stuff.
I tried to uninstall and re-intall the epson software (in the Software CD-ROM that came with the printer). Still nothing.
What do I do?

Try downloading and installing the 10.6.1 combo update.

Remember to repair disk permissions after the installation.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

My Canon MP620 just stopped printing text: it can print photos etc but when I send a word document (with a picture) it only prints the picture. Any ideas?

I have a Canon MP620 printer connected directly into my Airport base station. So far it has worked perfectly - I can print any type of document over the network from my MacBook Pro.
Yesterday something weird happened. I have a resumé (as a word document) I was always printing but this time all that was printed was a photo and no text. I did a print preview and it looked fine. I converted to PDF and nothing was printed. I then created a brand new word document and again nothing was printed. I have no problem with images but for some strange reason no text can be printed. All that happens is that the paper goes through and comes out blank.
Any ideas?????

Tried all the cleaning programmes and it still will not print...I am lost.

HP Laserjet P1102w just quite printing. Windows 7 64-bit OS. No changes have been made to system.

Printer just stopped printing. Jobs sit in print queue and won't print even though the printer device box says they are printing. I have tried troubleshooting the printer and all checks out OK. I have rebooted the laptop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer to no avail. I have run the HP Scan doctor and everything passes....no problems. The wireless blue light is lit and the green light is flashing as it should be.

Pixma MG5420 stops printing midway through picture

Printing out a handful of 4"X6" borderless postcards. It will print several at a time, or maybe not even finish one, and just stop. No message on the display. The only thing I see in the console on the Mac is "Canon_MG5400_series: File "/Library/Caches/com.apple.ipp2ppd.Canon MG5400 series.icns" not available: No such file or directory", which I think is an ignorable error.
What causes a printer to just stop printing mid-page and think it's done? Ink levels look good, paper feed looks good...

8625 stopped printing after windows 8.1 update

my printer has been working without any problems until there was a windows 8.1 update on feb 11. it just stopped printing from my dell laptop. the print job appears to be added to the queue and it spools, but then nothing happens and there are no error messages. it still works from my iphone/ipad and it prints when i send a document to the printer email address. just not straight from the computer. i have updated EVERYTHING on the laptop. i have uninstalled/reinstalled the printer software several times. i have uninstalled all of the windows updates from feb 11, 2015. nothing works. i'm not super techy. i assumed a driver was missing or something wasn't compatible from the update so those are the fixes i've tried. and in the process i've messed something up so now not all links work in internet explorer. i've now been working on this since sunday. help!!!!

I would certainly be happy to help you with your Officejet 8625. I understand you are no longer able to print since updating to Windows 8.1 and that you can still print from other devices such as your iPhone and iPad.

Can't Define Epson R2400 Printer, Error -9672

I had happily been using my Epson Stylus Photo R2400 (firewire connection) on my G4 PowerBook ever since we purchased it four or five months ago. Then, suddenly, it stopped printing. Eventually, I deleted the printer definition and found that I could not redefine it in Printer Setup Utility. Here is what happens:
1) I go into printer setup utility and see the "E" printer connected.
2) I click on "More Printers" and choose "Epson Firewire" from the drop down. Stylus Photo 2400 (FW) appears.
3) I select the printer and then click on the Add button.
4) A dialog box appears with a generic error message and Error -9672
5) Console tells me:
Error -9672, badly formatted ticket XML - Bad XMLStart:
Bad XMLEnd
Feb 5 16:30:06 Gary-Bebermans-Computer crashdump[244]: PrintJobMgr crashed

6) The crash log is, to me, indecipherable.
Here is what I have done to fix it:
1) Downloaded the latest Epson installer (G4 version). Used it to uninstall the 2400 drivers and then reinstall them.
2) Repair permissions (both before and after the reinstall).
3) Run just about every option in the Printer Repair Utility (a shareware utility I found mentioned in another thread).
4) Define the printer using a USB connection (both from the Printer List menu and from More Printers/Epson USB).
Nothing seems to change. The only thing I haven't done is reset my printing system, which I am afraid to do since I worry I could be left with no working printers.
Any ideas?

I downloaded the combo updater, ran it, restarted, and then tried to define the printer.
Same experience.
BTW, I tried to define it to another computer (again, a G4 PowerBook, but this one was running 10.4.7). It worked fine.
