Epson RX 620 - Drivers removed - ghost in Scanner sharing

I'am trying to get rid of Scanner Sharing with My Epson RX620.
I have deleted all the driver files for Epson, but the entry is still there?
In printed sharing the entry is gone..
This causes the symptom that I can't enable (it won't stay) my new HP-All_in-ONE scanner sharing option.
Can you please help?

Thanks for your answer John but I have tried also that. If I reset the printing system printer disappears on the list. Then when I add HP Photosmart premium driver back to the list and try to share scnner it just does not "stay on" and the Scanner sharing still shows Epson Stylus Photo RX620 even there is no driver for that printer anymore?? I can't get rid of that Epson entry and I have tried to grep -lr different kind of things in /System/Library -files also.
Pictures to help you see what is the problem.

  • EPSON CX3810 Printer/Scanner - need drivers to get the scanner to work

Finally got this default printer to work on my new macbook pro. I had to get a driver for the printer off the Epson website. Downloaded the EPSON CX3800 Guten v.5.2.3. Printer works.
Epson shows no drivers to get the scanner section working, same with Apple.
Does anyone know of any work arounds to get the scanner section working on the EPSON CX3810 printer/scanner?

This was originally a Windows-only device. There is only limited support for it on a Mac. This 'limited' support is basically low-level printing support only. There does not appear to be any support for the scanner section for anything other than Windows.
As this was not one of Epson's more popular devices, 3rd-party support is also limited. It is unlikely that you will get 3rd-party scanner support if VueScan doesn't work.
This device is discontinued. This means that support from Epson will be even more limited in the future than it is now. Translation: if it doesn't work now, odds are good that it will never, ever, work.
I'd get a new MFD. Preferably one which ships with Mac support in the box. Brother, Canon, HP, and, yes, Epson, all make machines which will work. (I'd stay far away from Lexmark, but that's me.)

Thanks for your help Karen Serena. Obviously, it appears in the list of printers and scaners on the left, into the "Print and Scan" with system preferencies. Then i click it , it appears on the right, then i click "open scanner" below the name and opens a window writing "open device failed". When i connect the scanner, it makes a sound but that's all...the scanner is dead, even if I push any button...Also there isn't any window opened to prove the function of the scanner, only is shown in the scanner list, that's all.

  • 32 bit HDR - black pixel speckling when Remove Ghosts checked

    Hi,
I'm using LR4.4, PS CS5 12.0.4, OS X 10.6.8. I'm able to view the 32 bit TIF back in LR, but when I zoom in to 2:1, I can see obvious speckling of mostly black pixels in various dark parts of the image. This only happens when I have Remove Ghosts checked. I actually had just thought of doing a test without it checked to confirm my suspicion, and I was right. Unfortunately I need it checked for some of the images with motion.

Here's a very noticeable example. Others are less apparent.

And I'm getting these dialogs, which I don't think have any relevance.

I am having a similar problem with Merge to HDR from Lightroom 4 to CS6.
First of all, here is the dark exposure processed entirely in Lightroom.  As you can see there is good shadow detail and no blown highlights:

Now here is the image using the darkest and lightest (of 3 exposures) manually blended.  Here the shadow detail is naturally better (although it isn't obvious on the small image shown here):
Now here is the image from HDR Pro with remove ghosts on the darkest of the 3 images.  As you can see there is very bad (practically no) shadow detail (look at the hillside on the left):
Here is the HDR Pro with remove ghosts on the middle of the 3 images.  As you can see the clouds are badly blown/posterised:
And here is the HDR Pro with remove ghosts on the most over-exposed image.  As you can see the sky is completely messed up:
Essentially unusable for this sort of image.  Hope this gets fixed soon!!

  • CS6 64 HD Pro remove ghost disabled

Hi I'm using CS6 and trying to blend 2 images to HDR using the merge to HD Pro feature. I have used it before but now it appears that I can't select remove ghosts or select an image for prioritizing ghosts
I have tried photomatrix Pro and thats fine (but it was a trial).
I have tried impoting NEF, tiff and jpegs with no luck. I have also tried different bit depths which didn't help.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I'm having exactly the same problem.  Had no trouble with CS5, but when I "upgraded" to Photoshop CC, this problem started happening.  The option to remove ghosts is grayed out regardless of whether the Merge to HDR was initiated in Bridge, Photoshop, or Lightroom.  Anyone have any ideas?  It doesn't seem to matter if the files are NEF, JPG, TIF...

  • How do you access "Remove Ghosts" in Merge to HDR Pro (CS5)

I select two images in Bridge and launch "Merge
to HDR Pro". In the dialog window, the "Remove Ghosts" check
box is there, but ghosted. How do I access it?

Remove Ghosts only works when you use 3 or more images in Merge to HDR

  • Merge to HDR, Remove Ghosts looks awful

I'm geting really ugly "Merge to HDR" results in Photoshop CS6 that were not present in CS5.5. It only happens when using the "Remove Ghosts" checkbox
    I use a Panasonic Lumix G2
    Photoshop CS6
    Lightrom 4
    Camera Raw 7
I'm trying to merge RAW images to HDR. I use Adobe Lightroom 4.
    1) I right click on multiple RAW exposure images
    2) Edit In > Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop
    3) After aligning and merging, I use the "remove ghosts"option, but it creates really ugly blown-out areas on my preview image. The result is just as bad after clicking "OK" and the "creating file" box is done. I can see another thread discussing this in the Photoshop CS6 Beta (read only) area. The guy was using a Panasonic Lumix GH2,(mine's a G2) so maybe it's an isue with RAW support for Panasonic's Raw format. http://forums.adobe.com/message/4290247
Im having this exact issue also.

Please see my comments in this thread about how I've found Merge to HDR nothing useful:

  • Epson 2.1 Drivers Available Through Software Update

An Epson Printer Driver update, version 2.1, is now available via Software Update.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 has been updated: a '+' designates the added models, and a '*' designates the updated models.

My printer (DX4850) also stopped working. I reset the printing system then added the printer again and it appears to work.
If that doesn't work I imagine that re-installing the Epson drivers from the Snow Leopard install DVD will fix it.
Unfortunately the Epson 2.0 drivers have been taken off Apple's site. These are the same as the drivers on the Snow Leopard DVD but it's a little easier to use the download instead of fishing out the DVD again and re-installing every printer driver. Presumably Apple were so confident in their testing process that they felt they could do that.

  • No drivers for scanjet 4570c scanner for windows 8x

no drivers for scanjet 4570c scanner for windows 8x
Sure, it's old- but, many PC accessories last a long time. This old scanner is working perfectly. I shouldn't have to junk it because HP, a multi billion dollar company doesn't want us to continue to use old accessories. I used to program- I know that it wouldn't be that big a deal to update the drivers for this old scanner to work on windows 8x.

You need to provide Win7 with device drivers for all the Mac-specific hardware, just like when you tried out BootCamp. In order to do so, use the BootCamp Assistant to download the latest Windows drivers and place them on media the Win7 installer can use.
Run BootCamp Assistant, click Continue to skip initial screen. Check the Download latest Windows support... box, uncheck all others. Click Continue. Select to burn to a DVD/CD or store in an external drive (USB Flash?). Click Continue. Allow the disk image to download, may take awhile. Burn or copy the image onto media, as per your previous choice. Then, when the Win7 installer says there are no drivers, use the media you prepared to install them.
Note that the above explanation is when using the diskless world of Lion. If you are using Snow Leopard, there should be a BootCamp disk you can use and not have to wait.

  • Remove a scanner from scanner sharing pane

I had a Canon MP620 printer/scanner, and have since gotten rid of it. I've removed the printer fine, but it still shows itself in the scanner sharing pane of preferences. Any idea how to remove this? I've already removed all the plist files related to this printer.

    NingK wrote:
Is there a way to remove it from the shared scanner pane?
I've installed a number of scanner and AIO's over time and a large number of these which have long been removed from the Mac are still listed in the Shared Scanner pane. I had a look through the Library and System folders and could not find a plist or other file that referenced these devices.
So at this stage I would say that there is not a simple way to remove any listed scanner. A reset of the printing system does not help nor does removing all the scanner driver files from Library > Image Capture > TWAIN Data Sources and Library > Image Capture > Devices.
Will keep looking. This is an interesting one...

  • Is HP going to supply drivers for HP G4050 scanner, for Mt Lion and/or Maverick?

Is HP going to supply drivers for HP G4050 scanner, for Mt Lion and/or Maverick?

    Happytohelp01,
If you really do work for HP, you should know that since Mac OS X 10.7 came out July 20, 2011, all Mac OS X 10.3.x type drivers have become obsolete.    With the release of Mac OS X 10.4.4 Apple started making everything migrate to the Intel CPU.    August 28, 2009 Apple dropped the last native operating system support for PowerPC Macs, but still offered a background application support with limited driver support in Mac OS X 10.6.  Starting with 10.7, there was no PowerPC support left over without a complicated virtualization process with Mac OS X 10.6 server that most people frankly can't afford.   If all you can offer is Mac OS X 10.3.x or later drivers for someone running 10.8, you might as well be offering leaded gasoline to someone with a 1990s or later car.
Open/third party source drivers exist for printers* and scanners*, but they don't cover every single one.
Apple does offer its own HP printer drivers for 10.8.  But none that I can find yet for 10.9.

How to remove ghost space on Camera Roll under Usage. No photos on camera. 545MB shown on Camera Roll and 1.8MB on Photo Stream?
Trying to clean up space to download updated iOS. Thanks!
Have tried unsuccessfully the left swipe and pressing the red delete. No change.

The only problem is I have only 1.6GB available and need 3.7 to update to the iOS7.  I also have 2.6GB in the "Other" catagory.  How do I access the "Others" area in iTunes in order to see what is there and what I might be able to delete in order to create the amount of space needed.  Thanks for your help!

  • Scanner sharing not possible

I have two scanners (Canon Canoscan 3200 F, Lexmark X1190) connected to a PowerMac G4 (Mac OS X 10.4.11) via Firewire (the Canon) and USB (the Lexmark). In Image Capture I set up to share both the scanners. They appear on my MacBook Pro which is connected to my local network. But Image Capture tells me that they are not connected although both devices uses TWAIN drivers which are installed on my MacBook Pro, too. How can I scan over the network? All sources on the internet claim setting up the scanner sharing feature is very easy. It is - but it doesn't work.
    Steffen

Oh right, that possibility. Digital Cameras which mount as a disk image when you tether them to the Mac can be shared. Not all Digital Cameras offer that ability. I forget which ones offered that capability, though I wouldn't be surprised if this list includes some of them, since it mentions use of Image Capture with Digital Cameras:

  • Scanner sharing in System Preferences doesn't work

I have an Epson AcuLaser CX11NF networked by ethernet with a couple of other devices and my Mac Pro, and a wireless LAN connected to BT Infinity for broadband access. The various MacBooks and remote desktop Macs rely on the wireless network for access to the Epson. Print access through printer sharing works fine, but I can't establish scanner sharing. In System Preferences > Sharing, Scanner Sharing is ticked, but no scanner appears in the window (I was expecting something analogous to the Printer Sharing pair, Printers: and Users:, but there is just one window). In System Preferences > Print & Fax, with the Epson and the Scan tab selected, if I tick the box for "Share this scanner on the network", it doesn't stay ticked. If I navigate to another preference pane and return, it is unticked.
Further evidence that something is failing to work properly comes from System Preferences > Security > Firewall > Advanced..., where File Sharing (AFP), Printer Sharing, and Web Sharing all show "Allow incoming connections" as they should, but Scanner Sharing doesn't appear.
NB: 10.6.8 on all OS X machines in question. We've got Lion on a MacBook Air, but we're not even trying this with the Epson yet.
    What's going wrong?

No, it's located in a different room from the router; neither can be changed. It's not plugged directly into a Mac, but into an ethernet switch into which the Mac is also plugged.
Surely if I could plug it into the router, that would make it directly accessible to all devices on the wireless network. That's not the issue. Because I can't do that, I want to make it available through Scanner Sharing. This is what isn't working, although Printer Sharing of the same device in the same configuration is working.
