Epson Stylus Pro and Epson Stylus Pro XL

Dear Friends,
I am looking for drivers for my two old Espon Printers "Stylus PRO" and "Stylus PRO XL".
Unfortunately, I did not found anything on Epson Web portal and into the good packet "GIMP Gutenprint".
On web is disponible just version for MAC OS 7 and MAC OS 9, but not for MAC OS X.
Anybody can suggest me how I can solve this issue?
Thank you guys for your help.

PS Those printed are connected on MAC with a Serial port>USB connector, that is going well on Windows Computer (PC well recognize the printers).

Hi there,
Will This Work With My Printer?
The original Epson Stylus Color and Stylus Pro should work. These are the original models of the series and have no other model number associated with them.

Also, have you tried one of the other Stylus Pro Drivers In Printer Setup Utility?

  • How can I fix my MacBook Pro losing wireless connectivity with Epson Stylus NX625 printer.  It will work once and then I get an error saying the printer is not connected.

I can connect to my Epson Stylus NX625 through my wireless network and print a page or two, but then the next time I go to print it says that the printer is not connected.  Any fixes?  I have tried deleting the printer and re-adding it to my MacBook Pro OS X version 10.9.4, but sometimes it doesn't even find it, and other times it says it is connected, but when I go to print it says not connected.  Very frustrated.  I have also installed the latest drivers, etc.
    What now?

Your computer is going to run hot while playing CPU/GPU intensive games - it should heat up and the fans should be noticably loud. As to why it's 'crashing' - can you post a kernel panic log? You may have some third-party kexts that are causing the problems.

This what I have been trying......  Maybe my eyes are screwed up or don't understand the process....
What I have been trying to do is squint and make the apple disappear by moving the sliders around in each step. Is that correct?

Read the user manual that came w/the printer/scanner, contact Epson to see if you need to update your scanner drivers to work in Mavericks also check Software Update.  Check out the following links:

  • Epson Stylus Pro and system resources. PowerMac G4 and iMac iSight

    Originally in Mac Pro discussions
    Hi Ned,
If I may, I would like to extend the discussion regarding Macs and large format printers.
At work we have a Stylus Pro 9000. On a G4 Power Mac 533Mhz/Panther/640MB RAM, the processing of jobs takes a very long time. On the iMac (G5 iSight/20"/stock 512MB RAM), it is about a third of the time in processing jobs.
Now I don't use this printer, but others are pulling their hair out to get jobs beyond the processing in the print queue. The jobs tend to cease. I have run some test jobs myself without any problems. The only difference I can see is that they are using custom sizes in the page setup where I have used set sizes i.e. A0. The other factor is that I think they have been trying very high quality output in terms of the settings they are using. (I'll add that my test runs are done when they are not in at work and vice-versa. This is a studio for artists/printmakers). I note that activity shows very little free RAM during the processing of jobs, more so on the iMac. I am wondering would adding an extra 512MB RAM improve the processing times. I am not sure if it will solve the not actually printing situation though?

I'll add that the Epson Stylus Pro printer is connected by Ethernet

  • Can't print- 27" 2013 iMac-my epson stylus 3800 pro will not print-i updated driver n added printer in syst prefs-When i print the printer queue opens and shows the job as "stopped"-Supply level "information is not available"-maybe part of problem...thx

I can't print from my  27" late 2013 iMac.  I am using an epson stylus 3800 pro.  I updated driver and added printer in system preferences. When i print the printer queue opens and shows the job as "stopped".  Supply level shows  "information is not available which maybe part of problem...thank you

The first thing you could try is a reset of the printing system. Please note that this action will remove all printers and scanners from the Printers & Scanners preference pane.
With the reset complete, unplug the Epson USB cable from the Mac for a minute and then reconnect it. This action should result in the printer being added again to the Mac automatically. If this does happen, then see if you can print again.
If the printer is not added again automatically, open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add the Epson. Once this is done, then see if you can print again.

  • Document labels and discriptions distorted on Epson Stylus 3800 Pro

I have a dozen photographers printing proofs to the Epson Stylus 3800 Professional.  The images, and the image labels that come from the Adobe Bridge CS4 "Contact Sheet II", all appear fine, but when adding the Description and Labels within the Output section of the print dialog box, those labels do not print correctly.  They look like a small font that has been rasterized and enlarged.  Printing to an HP 5550 or to a Xerox 7760 looks fine.  The problem only takes place with the Epson and if printing from Photoshop CS3 to the Epson, it looks fine.  If I create a postscript file instead of sending it to the printer, the labels and description look distorted, like they do on paper, but all else looks perfect.
I believe the issue to be caused by postscript vs PCL, but I have the newest driver and firmware version.  The web interface for the printer contains no information about postscript at all.  Help?
The response I got from Epson was less than useful.  "To print Postscript you need a RIP software. Without a RIP text will look jagged and distorted. The two other printer being Laser Printer come with built-in RIP software. You will have to look for a RIP software that is compatible with the printer and with what you are trying to do."  If it were truly a RIP issue, I would expect it to not work with Photoshop CS3 either, but it does.  Which leads me to believe that there is a configuration difference between Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS4.

  • Epson Stylus Pro 4000 and SL

Is anyone successfully printing with an SP 4000 and the 10.5 driver in Snow Leopard? I can work with either Photoshop CS4 or Lightroom 2. Epson suggests using Rosetta as a work around. Does that work with CS4?
    Thanks,
    Peter

I am able to print with ICC profiles properly colour calibrated on my Epson 4000 providing I follow a very specific sequence.
My system is 10.6.1 SL, Lightroom 2.5 (starting in 32 bit mode), Epson driver 3.09, USB connected printer
I must do the following in this sequence (if I do not the prints are way too dark)
    1. Use lightroom as normal, press print or print one with profile settings as normal
    2. In the print driver dialogue go to "Color Management" and choose "OFF"
    3. in the print driver dialogue go to "Print Settings" and choose Mode "Automatic"
    4. In the print driver dialogue press "Print"
If I do step 3 then 2, then prints are way too dark, it appears to only work in this way for me.
I am very pleased with SL, the performance improvement is impressive.
I have resolved the issue with my Epson and it is not a big brick but it is clunky to print this way and took a lot of trial and error and paper/ink to figure out something that works for me.
Now, if only I could get my eye-1 software to recognise the monitor profile is installed already and I don't need to reprofile every time I start up, I'd be a very happy man.

  • How can I install epson stylus nx625 driver on my Macbook Pro?

I've spent a frustrating few hours today going back and forth between Apple tech support and Epson tech support and still do not have a solution to what should be a simple problem.  I got a new MacBook Pro as a work computer and want to install my home printer on it so that I can print when working from home.  The printer is an Epson Stylus NX 625 all in one.
The directions on Epson's website indicate that the only way to install is use the "Software Update" function by going to the Apple icon on the upper left corner.  When doing this, the system looks for an update and finds nothing.  Printer is connected to the MacBook  via usb cable and is also on my wireless network.  I called Apple tech support and they said they don't have a driver for this Epson device and I should contact Epson.  I called Epson tech support and they say that they don't even have the driver for this device on their website because "Apple has signed off on ownership of this driver and only they can deliver this to you via their software update".   Can anyone help?
I am running Mountain Lion, OS X 10.8.1
    Thanks for any assistance provided.

  • Printing to my Epson Stylus Pro 3800 (Grr...)

    Hi All,
I'm a fairly recent convert from Windows and I LOVE my Mac for everything EXCEPT printing to my 3800.
I have always had a problem with my Epson Stylus Pro 3800 printer on my Mac. The two just don't seem to get along. I've wasted countless pages of expensive paper and what seems like gallons of ink trying to resolve this issue, but I'm getting nowhere. I've ruled out physical problems with the printer - it works flawlessly on the three PC's I've connected to it (via usb).
Until this evening I was using the Epson drivers for this printer. They were flakey at best. I would get random 'communication errors' that could happen at any time during a print - start, end, somewhere in between or, if I was lucky, not at all. Having had enough I went looking for a solution (again) online tonight and stumbled across Gutenprint 5.2.6.
I've been able to install the drivers successfully by following the documentation but I can't get the printer to print via USB or IPP. Using usb, I get a message in the print queue 'backend USB Failed' and the printer goes into a Paused state. Using IPP the print job apprers to spool and queue reads 'Connecting to printer... ' for a while then returns with 'Unable to connect to printer; will retry in 30 seconds..'.
I believe the IPP is failing because the print queue options in the Gutenprint setup. The install says to leave Queue blank for the default queue. I tried that - it didn't print.
I browsed to the embedded 'EpsonNet Config' page in the printer and named what they call 'printer name' as printer. I presume that's the queue that the gutenprint driver wants, but I still get the same result.
When I look at EpsonNet Config, the IPP URL is http://192.168.9.166:631/printer.
When I look at the Printer Setup on the Mac, I see
    Queue Name: 192_168_0166
    Driver Version: 5.2.6
    URL: ipp://192.168.0.166/printer
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm frustrated beyond belief with this problem and really could use some help using either the Epson drivers or Gutenprint drivers - I just want some consistent output.
Thanks in advance for any clues you may be able to offer.

I have been using an Epson 3800 with my I Mac for four years and up untill I upgraded to OSX Lion the only problem I had was colour issues associated with some ICC profiles. After upgrading to Lion and downloading the latest OSX update (10th May) I could not print.
One of the problms was that the print settings continuously defaulted to:
    Page Setup: Sheet Feeder
Media Type: Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster
I would change the settings to what I wanted, I saved them selected Print. My printer promptly started changing from Matte ink (what I had set my print setting s for) to Photo Black.
After trying all i could to correct this. I finally gave up and rang the Epson Helpline. After 3 telephone calls over a day and a half during which I was talked through the procedure you described, the problems were still not resolved.
My contact on the Epson Helpline then tried to simulate the problem on his MAC. He discovered that he had the same problem the print settings would not save, albeit on a Epson 3880 driver. He then advised me that the problem was not with thw Epson Drivers it was a MAC/Apple problem.
I then rang the Apple Helpline (at £1.35 a minute) described the problem and was eventually put through to a supervisor. Who asked me to send her a set of screen shots describing the problem, This I have done, I have received an acknowledgement of receipt and have been advised that I should get a response within two working days.
    I am waiting hopefully.
I have tried to print both via CS5 and Aperture the problem is the same in both instances.
