EPub convert to Mobi TOC

Hello,
I’m trying to convert a ePub to Mobi. I’ve been using the code below to add the TOC. But when I converted the file and viewed the publication on Kindle fire, the TOC was grayed out. This code has been working before. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Thanks in advance!

  • Pdf to epub converter

Can anyone suggest me "how to convert the pdf into epub."

you want to convert PDF to ePub?
    I've downloaded an all-powerful converter.
It can convert formats between PDF, Mobi, ePub.
Honestly speaking, how the output file displays is determined by the PDF files, if the PDF's structure is complete and right, the output file will looks perfect.
Now back to the software, you can download it here, the eBook converter is called "Epub Converter".

  • How to convert epub ebooks to mobi format?

I have epub format books in my iPad. How can I convert them to mobi format and send to my kindle ebook reader?

You could also try Sony Reader.  That is designed to go with Sony eReader devices but is a free download that can work standalone, and can read Adobe DRM books.
I don't like it very much, but you may happen to prefer it to ADE.
    http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/topics/reader-for-pc
You might also try the older ADE.  That gives a better reading experience to my mind than the new one, as well as having many fewer bugs.
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0.  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

The forum software is sometimes corrupting the link above.  There shouldn't be a blank in 'editio ns.html'.  The following redirects to the same page: http://tinyurl.com/diged172
For non-DRM books, try Calibre.  http://calibre-ebook.com/

  • Embedded fonts not appearing in ePub on Kindle mobi file

I have embedded two fonts into the ePub file which are called throught the CSS using @font-face declaration.
When I view the ePub in iBooks on my Macbook or convert it to .mobi to view on my Kindle reader (on mac still) I can see the fonts fine.
However, the problem occurs when I send this file for my client to do the same on his mac, and the fonts do not show up.
I don't even know where to begin with this one, so any advice, suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Hi Josh,
Were you able to solve your issue with the fonts? I'm having the same issue but only when I go to publish the epub on Kindle Direct Publishing. When I view it through their previewer none of the fonts display. It seems like they display the default Kindle fonts. If you found a solution, please share

  • Convert word 2010 TOC to pdf without numbering and hyperlink errors

I made an automatic TOC (Table of Contents) for my Manual of procedures using the automatic creation under the Reference tab-create a table of contents. It looks great in word. I made sure the hyperlink is clicked in word as well. When I convert this document to pdf using adobe acrobat XI, the numbering of the TOC just changes to incorrect numbering. And the hyperlinks work only for a few initial pages only. I have 22 pages. Once converted, the TOC shows that I only have 16 pages and the linking is incorrect. How can I convert this and keep the numbering correct and also allow for the hyperlinks in the pdf document? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I bought this product (Adobe XI pro) for the same purpose. After waisting many hours and digging through google and Adobe community, I learned it doesn't work, at least not for Mac. I HATE ADOBE!!!! GIVE MY MONEY BACK!
This is a 15-20 year od bug in Acrobat. That Adobe refuse to fix. In this case they blame MS Office claiming they don't have the "proper hooks" for web Links. But it’s a red herring. The Mac Version of Office has the same exact hooks as the PC version. You can take a Mac version of the word file. Unopened on a PC and Drop on AcrobatPC and the links will appear. This has been proven by MS MVP's and employees. The defect is squarely with Acrobat and acrobat alone.
You can have weblinks as long as they have been created with Office Auto-correct feature both http: 's and mailto: 's.  Go to Print menu > hold down PDF key until context menu apppears. Next choose adobe PDF. Now when first screen appears choose quality of PDF and whether to have Acrobat or reader Open immediately.   Click okay. Next screen  browse to desired save location. And you can alter the name. Click save. Tou links will appear and will be active.
Another way which is easier  for one or two page PDF's:
Save word file in .docx format.
Now Dragthe file from save location and Drop on top of the Acrobat icon in the Dock.
Wait for a few minutes while file is processed (it like using Distiller) You might be able to dring a couple of cups of tea or coffee while waiting.
The the PDF will suddenly appear
    Save immediately.
Now any links created by autocorrect will appear and be active.
Both of these two methods only started working in Acrobat X, and XI so someone finally figured partially how to fix the 15 year old Problem

  • DJVU to EPUB converter for Windows 7

    Hello,
I just bought an iPad mini and want to read books from it.
I need a converter (DJVU to EPUB) in order to convert my existing library.
    I'm using Windows 7 64-bit OS.
    Thanks for suggestions.

Do your DJVU files have embedded text?  If so, Calibre is supposed to work.
Have you already tried various online conversion tools which google throws up?

  • HT5071 EPUB converter other than Calibre?

    Hello,
I want to get my work published on iBook but I'm having difficulties in delivering my package on iTunes Producer since it's not accepting the epub file I used from Calibre. The original file is PDF and I've converted it to EPUB on Calibre. I've read that the EPUB format from Calibre is not compatible with iBooks as you can see I'm getting 3 errors:
    1.  Apple's web service opration was not successful
    2.  Unable to authenticate the package: Clouds_2004.itmsp
    3.  ERROR ITMS-9000: "Clouds_2004.epub: resource OPS/Fonts/EmbedFont.ttf is missing" at Book (MZltmspBookPackage)
Can anyone suggest an alternative converter or how to work around it?
    Thanks!

  • When I export to epub, I get 2 TOCs

I'm putting together my first epub, and I'm following along a video on Lynda.com to do it (the video title is "InDesign CS5.5 to EPUB, Kindle, and iPad" by Anne-Marie Concepcion, although I am using ID CS6). It was going fine until the table of contents.
I formatted each chapter in a different ID document in the book panel, then created a TOC style using my Chapter_Title paragraph style. That created the epub's navigational contents menu on the side, and it worked fine.
Now I'm trying to create an actual contents page in the document, where the chapter titles are hyperlinked to the chapters. I used ID's Layout>Table of Contents command and it seemed to work fine (although I can't tell if the chapter titles are hyperlinks).
But when I export to epub, I get one contents page with hyperlinks, and one without.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how to get rid of the extra contents page? Or would it just be easier to delete it in Sigil or TextWrangler?

I think I'm on the right track. I've got the navigational contents working again, and I got the TOC page back, but it's not formatted the way I want.
Maybe I'm not understanding the Table of Contents Style dialogue box.
I've got "Contents" in my Title field and I chose my "chapter_title" paragraph style for its style.
Then I also have the "chapter_title" paragraph style under "Include Paragraph Styles" because I want the chapter titles listed in the table of contents.
BUT I don't want the text on the TOC page to actually have the "chapter_title" paragraph style for its text; I have a "contents_text" style for that.
Can I just change the paragraph style for the text after the TOC is generated, or will that mess something up?

  • Using music on other devices once converted to mob...

Hello, I have a nokia N95 and after installing nokia music manager v2.0 ransfered all my music from my computer into it. When asked the question do I want to convert to mobile format I said yes and it coverted all my songs successfully. The problem i am having is that I have a second MP3 player for when i'm exercising and now all my songs can't be recognised as their format has changed. Do you now how to convert them back. Thanks, Wayne.

You should still have the old files in the computer or whatever.
You don't need to convert the files before putting them on the N95.
In general it's not a good idea to convert and re-convert files as every time you do this you loose some quality.
If you need to convert from AAC or eAAC+ to MP3 you need an audio encoder solution. Google Audio converter encoder. You should find 1000s in the internet, from free to shareware to software you need to buy.
640K Should be enough for everybody

  • How to convert mobi books to ePub format?

Hello, I have a question for help here, I have a lot of .mobi books on my computer, I wanna transfer these mobi books to my iPhone and iPad for reading, but I found they doesn't accept mobi format, I tried many ways to convert mobi to ePub but failed, the quality of  the output ePub file is so bad, unable to read. pleae help! Is there any software can convert hundreds of .mobi files to ePub format with high quality? Don't give me calibre, it keep crashed in my windows 8, and the it is not easy to use, waste of my time.

And, what did I say?  Asnlinkda asked how to convert a mobi book into an epub book (not how to convert an epub in a mobi). I said him that he should use some thid party app (that produces epub books) and if it's necessary, to polish the resulting book mobi to ePub converter. I also say that he could use mobi to ePub converter but that I prefer to use the first method. So, I say that is preferable to use (if it were necessary)
The way I go from Mobi > ePub is to use Vibosoft ePub creator or iStonsoft mobi to epub converter to convert, use Modify ePub to put in the cover and then use Sigil to rename the files and clean up the code/CSS. I find that's the easiest way to do it.

  • I successfully convert a pdf into ePub and it can be read by iBooks. However on second run, all my converted epubs are not readable in iBooks! What went wrong?

I used Xilisoft PDF to EPUB Converter 1.0.4 by the way. I will understand if none of them is not working, but what really puzzled me is the fact the first conversion works, but not the rest. I had check all the settings, all the same.

True to that, I was not bothered until I realised my both pdf shelf is terribly cluttered while the Books shelf are empty, so I was thinking to put Western comics in the PDF shelf while the Japanese comics in Books shelf.
I finally decided to post questions here after I went through researches on troubles with epubs which sometimes are malfunction due to wrong coding of the epubs and itunes/ipad will not read those certain codes. I was very curious on that.

  • How to Get Page Break Before Inline TOC in EPUB?

I'm exporting a book file to epub.  The TOC is created correctly inline, but I can't yet find a way to get a page break right before it.
In EPUB Export Options->Advanced, I have selected Split Document->Based on Paragraph Style Export Tags.
The TOC Header (saying "Table of Contents") has the paragraph style "TOC Heading." In paragraph styles panel->Edit all Export Tags, I have checked the checkbox for "Split EPUB" next to the "TOC Heading" style.
But, after export, there is no page break before the TOC Header.
    How can I correct this?
Thanks very much in advance to all for any info.

I think basically you're doing it correctly. I've run into the same problem. What I found is that the heading in the PLACED table of contents (placed by using the Layout > Table of Contents feature and placing it onto the page) will not work for making a page break. It's a special kind of object because it can be updated by the Update Table of Contents command.
You have to do a workaround: You need to create "Table of Contents" in a separate frame and apply the TOC Heading paragraph style.
In the TOC style, DON'T include content for the TOC title. Look at the screen captures below of my TOC.
By separating the "Contents" into its own frame it works in EPUB:

  • Convert pdf to epub

Trying to convert a pdf file to ePub to read on iPad and eventually upload to the Apple store. I have tried Calibre, Wondershare (paid version) and pdf to epub converter. I also have the native inDesign file used to create the pdf and tried exporting it as an ePub file. Of course it worked but when viewed on the iPad, the formatting was off. Every ePub file I have created has had formatting issues when viewed on the iPad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

What George said is right, you will get much better results from ID > EPUB if you prep the file a bilt in ID, and if you make some tweaks in the resulting EPUB files.
In addition to Liz's boks, you might check out the video tutorials I've done on lynda.com for this, called InDesign CS to ePub and the iPad. There are 3 diff. titles, one each for InDesign CS4, CS5, and CS.5. Working on another for CS6. Here's the link to the CS5.5 one: http://j.mp/lynda_cs55epub
it's a subscription site ($25 for a month) but each of the titles has some free sample videos. Or you can get a free week's trial of the entire site: http://lynda.com/freepass/amconcepcion
Another good place to ask InDesign > EPUB questions (or any epub question) is on Twitter with the #eprdctn hash tag; ebook production folk use that tag. Not sure if you're into Twitter or not, but it's worth it for that alone.

  • How can I get a toc to work for Kindle?

Export from Pages to epub for Barnes & Noble's ebooks creates a toc table of contents (from headers), but not for Kindle ebooks.  Kindle provides info for getting a toc from Microsoft Word, but not for Apple Pages.  I asked them, but was directed to follow the instructions for Word.  Can anyone tell me how to do this from Pages???

You can export an ePub from Pages and submit it to the kindle store where it will be converted to mobi complete with TOC

  • My ADE is flushing all the type in my EPUB left

    Hi All -
I am new to the group.  My newly installed 2.0 ADE is flushing all the headings and type left on my EPUB-validated creation.  My epub reads wonderfully in ipad, nook, converted to mobi for Kindle, etc.  But when I drop my epub onto the ADE on my desktop it flushes everything left.  Even on Sigil everything is beautiful.  Anyone know what's going on with that?  Thanks very much.
