Equinum A100-337: Installing an unsupported OS - Longhorn 4033

Ok i have a Equinum a100-337 and im trying to install another OS other than Vista.
I'm instaling longhorn 4033 and im having driver problems, The exact same thing is happening on windows XP
It's not my OS. I've tried the chipset utility which fixes the usb problems but i cant get my wireless card and sound card to install even though ive got the xp drivers . My sound card isnt even showing up in the device manager .
Heres a screenshot http://i19.tinypic.com/42jfeah.png . Ive tried installing the wireless card but it keeps trying to install the drivers for the 2xxxx controler even though the inf for my wlan is there Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection . The realtek High Definition Audio Device
sound card isnt listed in the device manager and the xp drivers for it wont install
Any ideas on what i should do ?

Hi
Generally Toshiba does not support any OSs which are not delivered with Toshiba notebooks
BUT maybe there is a little light at the end of the tunnel.
As far as I know the Longhorn is a new Microsoft server OS which is not official on the market. (may I ask how you got this oS ;) )
The Longhorn supports parts of the Vista or free spoken this is Vista with additional features.
However, I think you should check the available Vista drivers for Satellite A100 and Equium A100 series and possibly the single drivers will run
Good luck

I have an Equium A100-337 laptop. When I enter the password to logon to the computer I am getting the message "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded"

    Hi buddy,
I had the same problem few days ago and you can solve it by following the instructions on Microsoft Knowledge Base article. There is a button for automatic fix or you delete this registry key yourself.
Does it work for you too?

  • Equium A100-337: What model do I have to choose to download drivers?

    Hi,
can anyone tell me which set of drivers to choose for the A100-337 model when I get to the drop down box which gives me the choice between PSAA4 or PSAAB?
Obviuosly I want to download the most up to date versions.

    Hi
The serial number of the Equium A100-337 starts with PSAAQE.
You can find the number at the bottom of the unit
I dont know why your notebook model is not listed in the driver form but you could check the other drivers for PSAA4 and PSAAB.
    Maybe single drivers will run.

  • Equium A100-337: bad Vista performance - should I upgrade to XP?

I have a brand new Equium A100-337 which came with Vista as standard.
No games work properly (yes I've tried the emulator). The sound is dreadful and DVD's are virtually inaudible. The firewall switches itself off or crashes constantly. I keep on getting the message that Toshiba flash cards arent working - I don't even know what they are!
    Is all this normal?
Would the XP installation solve my problems?

    Hi
How about RAM upgrade. According to specification this notebook model is delivered with 512 MB of RAM. Very interesting is that graphic card is shared one and use RAM for graphic operations. I can imagine that performance is not the best one.
This notebook model can handle with 4GB of RAM and I recommend you to upgrade RAM with additional 1GB module.
I am pretty sure the performance will be much better. 512 MB is for me definitely not enough. The same is with WXP when unit has 256MB RAM only.

At a guess, the lack of response from the community may be because 'nix has numerous native tools that do the same job... so using a wine app is pretty redundant... you may get a better response posting a query on the wineHQ site
Scanning through the log you posted - the most pertinent part(s) may be
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast
and a (very) quick google search sent me straight back to these very boards and this post:

    Thanks in advance,

You'll need at least Sun Management Center 3.5 Update 1a, which is available in the nearest Solaris 10 media kit, or at:
    http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/sunmanagementcenter/get.xml
Now that 3.5.1b is available maybe you should get that one.

  • On Equium A100-337 WLAN connection security screen is not displayed correctly

My computer use to connect to a specific wireless network without any problems automatically. However, now when trying to connect to the same network, the security key screen I am presented with is not the correct type. Instead of two lines of encryption there is only one. When I enter the correct password I get a message to say I am connected to the network but cannot access the Internet. The wireless router is working fine.
Do I need to reset something on my computer or change a setting?

    Hi
May I ask what wireless configuration tool do you use???
Did you try to refresh or to reconfigure the WLan profile on the router and on the notebook?
Try this. Disable the encryption on router and try to connect without the security settings. If it will work you can set the encryption settings back.
You could also try to reinstall the WLan driver.
By the way; did you use any firewalls??? Sometimes enabled firewall could has a bad influence on the WLan or internet connectivity.

  • Equium A100-337 - can I manage 2jacks on the front?

I have 2 jackplugs on the front of this laptop one is for mic/line in and the other is headphone.
As i am a Dj i need 2 stereo outputs (one for headphone the other to the amp) so i can listen to tracks whilst playing songs.
on my other computer when i plug a jack into the front panel it asks me what i want it to be i.e. speaker rear, speaker front.
My question is: Is there anyway of managing the 2 jacks on the front of the laptop instead of mic in & headphones i would like stereo LR rear & stereo LR front???

    Hi DJ
As far as I know something like this is not possible. In my opinion you should visit some specialized PC store and talk with dealers. I am pretty sure you can buy some external device that allows something like this. Perhaps there is PCMCIA solution.
When you have some time go to search option and use DJ as searching term. If I am remembering well few DJs have already wrote here. Maybe you will find some useful info for doing your job easier.
    Bye and good luck!

  • BSOD after installing Boot Camp 4.0.4033

I have recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my 15" Early 2008 MacBook Pro, 2.5 GHz Intel Core Duo w/ 4GB Ram. I have a solid state SATA drive.
I have tried renaming the AppleHFS.sys & AppleMNT.sys drivers to no avail. Pulling my hair out here. I'm not sure how to get the error numbers from the bsod screen.
I'm starting to think about giving up on installing the mac drivers because much of the time I use the partition in parallels, but it becomes very difficult to use when I need to boot natively to use all of the ram on windows applications.

I do not know exsactly what your issue could be. My advice would be to try and F8 Windows into safe mode and try to run a Disc check on the Windows partition to see if their are errors that might be fixed. If you have the Windows DVD you can boot into that and run repair apps from that. You may just have a corupt boot config and its causing the BSOD. I have a 2011 Macbook and have similar problem with freeze ups on Windows 7. Mostly after it has to reboot after a update? All I can think of after looking at my Windows Events viewer was that a problem with a driver was most likely the cause. I unfortunately have Mountain Lion and have to use BootCamp 4. Personally I have never had a issue with BootCamp until 4.0 and Mountain Lion. In fact when I upgraded to Mountain Lion I did so without the BootCamp partition and then I added BootCamp back in after Mountain Lion upgrade. When I fist tried to install Windows 7 BootCamp never did start the Windows install corectly. All it did was boot back into OS X. That should have been my first hint that things would not go well

  • How to install Web Dynpro ABAP on Longhorn Beta 3

Hello, want to give some hints how to install WDA SP12 on Longhorn Beta 3:
    - Computer name maximum 8 chars
    - set a pw for administrator, not empty (don't know whether necessary)
    - rename image\NTPATCH subdir before starting install, otherwise install crashes
    - at end of installation mmc msi is not found, start manually from \sap\nsp\_installTemp
    - starting sapmmc, converts to Longhorn mmc version, store it, start only new version (old version crashed after some minutes)
    - at end of installation, manually start r3dllcon.exe from former ntpatch dir, make it WinXP conform before. ntpatch must be a local dir to make it conform. I disabled uac before, but don't know whether it's necessary (msconfig, right register, uac disable). r3dllcon copy some C dll files into windows\system32, so uac should be disabled
    - set hostname in hosts file
    - network disable tcpv6
    - add sapmsNSP 3600/tcp, sapdp 3200/tcp and sapgw 3300/tcp in services
    - add dbms/type=sdb in file ...\profile\default.pfl (don't know if this was necessary)
    - start in new sap mmc
This information is an appreciation to your great forums in sdn!
    Best regards
    Joerg

  • Problem trying to install XP via Boot Camp, computer almost died

    Hi there,
I just recently purchased a 24" 2.8Ghz intel iMac 500GB harddrive with OS X 10.5.2. I plugged everything together yesterday morning and the computer was going fine, just liek a dream. On a side note I was genuinely impressed with the ease of setting up and how quick, intuitive and reliable the mac and OS X Leopard was.
This is a bit long but I think I need to go into detail what happened in order for any of you to fully understand what happened to my mac.
Later in the afternoon I decided to install Win XP via Boot Camp. I knew that XP SP2 or later and VISTA was recommended but I decided to use my XP Home Edition "2002 version" install disc instead.
I opened up the Boot Camp Assistant, partitioned 15GB of the 500GB harddrive, inserted WinXP install disc and the computer restarted with everything going to plan thus far. I was going through the install process as normal but I came to a window asking which partition to use to install XP ("c" or "d") or if I wanted to create another partition. I also had my iPod still connected to the computer and I think the installation recognised that harddrive too (all 12GB of space left on my iPod). I wasn't sure what to do so I decided to quit the install process by pressing the relevent keys ("press F3 to quit" etc). Upon automatically restarting the computer I first came to a white screen for about1 or so minutes and then a black screen came up with white text asking me to "press any key to 'something' the CD" (can't remember what the rest of the text was), but the keyboard was unresponsive. I turned the computer off and unplugged it as according to the instruction manual that came with the mac, waited the suggested 5-6 seconds, turned it back on but I came across the same screens. I couldn't eject the XP install disc either. I restarted the computer again, held down the eject button whilst restarting, the disc thankfully ejected but I then came across the same black screen but with no text, just a white flashing underscore cursor. I decided to remove my iPod and restart the computer again. AGAIN I came across the same white screen, then black screen with the flashing white underscore cursor and unresponsive keyboard. I decided to insert the OS X install disc 1 (I don't remember if I inserted it whilst at the black screen or if I restarted the computer and THEN inserted the OS X install disc). The disc loaded slowly but I eventually went through the install process (choosing your language) and then came across a window asking me "Where would you like to install OS X?" but I couldn't install it anywhere. I opened "disk utility" or some program with the word "disk" in it, had no idea what I was doing, somehow created a new volume (though I thought I was actually erasing the XP partition I set up earlier) but in MS-DOS FAT Format or something. I then was able to choose a place (or volume) to install OS X but I had to change the format of the untitled volume from FAT to something along the lines of "Mac OS X journaled (enabled)" (whatever that means). There were other format options available but I just chose the top one on the list (Mac OS X journaled (enabled)). I then made a full install of OS X 10.5.2 and late last night downloaded the latest pdate for Leopard (10.5.4) along with other updates. The computer is working fine now thankfully andeverything seems to be back to normal.
I just want to know what actually happened. What did happen to my computer? Did I somehow wipe the harddrive? Why didn't the computer reboot to HDD when I ejected the WinXP install disc? Which format is the HDD formatted to? What does "Mac OS X journaled (enabled)" mean? Also how come my HDD is 500GB whereas when I checked Boot Camp Asistant a second time (but not installing Win XP again) My HDD is 460GB with 440GB of available space? Is there still another partition I am unable to see? Is there an extra 40GB of data floating around the harddrive that I'm unaware of? What are the factory settings for my computer? I really hope I haven't formatted the disk and installed the OS to settings that weren't like how the computer was originally set BEFORE I regrettably tried to install WinXP via Boot Camp.
If anyone could respond or give me some sort of advice, explanation or help I would very much appreciate your assistance.
    Cheers.

According to wiki "the documentation from Apple states that Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista is requisite for a Boot Camp installation, and it also mentions that trying to install an unsupported operating system could prevent the computer from booting even into Mac OS X". Sure that was from wiki, but it does seem to support and somewhat validate the problem I had with installing an earlier edition of XP.

Thanks for the info on the Filesystem info. My problem is that installing OS X on a mac is just a little bit more technical than installing Windows on a PC as there are a few more things to consider. Plus I'm not familiar with any of the utility programs as well. It's a **** miracle I managed to somehow create a volume to install OS X on when I thought I was erasing the partition I created for WinXP.
But I'm still not sure about the missing 40GB from my 500GB HDD. Upon coming to the desktop straight after OS X was fully re-installed I noticed that the HDD only had 460GB and that 440GB of it available space. So the full installation of OS X was 20GB, but where has the other 40GB gone? I swear I saw that I had much more available space on my harddrive (BEFORE I tried to partition my HDD under Boot Camp Assistant and stuffing up the computer). Is the missing 40GB from the ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALL of OS X INCLUDING all my iTunes music and other files I uploaded to the computer earlier? It would make sense but there's no way, as far as I know, of checking this. Any ideas?
    Cheers.

You have tried any other unsupported version of graphics driver???
If yes then uninstall it and reinstall your computer then try to reinstall driver which you have just downloaded.
If you dont have installed any unsupported driver then try the following
    1) Right click on computer
    2) Click on manage
    3) In left panel select device manager.
    4) Find your graphics controller (Mostly found in display adapter)and right click on it and choose option update driver software.(You need to find your graphics controller yourself because it was diferrent for diferrent models i.e. I have Intel(R)HD Graphics in display adaptars)
5)If this was doesnt fix your problem then try Intel driver updater  or Driver navigator tool
