Equipment ABC indicator mapping

Hi PM Gurus
Need some help I need to fill up three fields in technical object master data which is existing.
1.     Technical object type u2013 ( like rotating , fabricated , instruments etc..)
2.     Catalog profile u2013 ( sub classification based on identified object type like pump in a rotating object type)
3.     ABC indicator u2013 ( should be identified based on established parameters like frequency of failure and repair cost)
For 1&2. Technical object type - i had used the EQUI - long text field and if any match found like pump then it was identified as rotating equipment and pump catalog profile fileds are filled up . (Any best practices for mapping similar to this approach)
Any best practices / Mapping of fields to obtain the frequency of failure (like <1 year, 1-3 year , 3-10 year) & Repair cost of technical object ( based on this ranking of ABC indicator is to be carried out)

A, B, C indicators are used to classify technical objects according certain criteria such as importance from production point of view say A- denoting those objects failure of which causes production loss & critical to the process & multiple implications in process
B - causes partial production loss
C-causes no production loss (have standby)
This indicator has to be assigned to technical object prior to transactions & you will get the failure analysis once you do transactions over a period of time. After wards you will come to know about the failure frequency & it will not follow any pattern. Hence failure to be analysed based on object class/object type/damage/cause/object part & also location & manufacturer etc.

Hi All,
We can find ABC indicators in both Equipment & Functional Location (FL) master data.
Q. Please tell me....whether these fields are different for Equipment & FL or same??
Problem is that I could see the same field name ABCKZ for both Equipment & FL in tables V_EQUI & ILOA respectively.

So ABC indicator is same for equipments and Functional LocationBUT value may be diferent

Sorry for delay response..
Authorization keys which you can use to set up authorization checks when you manually set or delete a user status.
After creating the status profile.create individula authorization key in the lower menu node where u hv created the User status .
Then assign the authorization key to the each status codes(Last column of the status profile).(Crete authorization key same as the status codes).
Then maintain the authorization key value in the field BERSL where u want to give the authority for change /Delete user status.

Linking Priority and ABC indicator

Gentlemen,
Here i have an interesting requirement. My customer require to set the priority of notification based on the equipment criticality, ie based on the ABC indicator.
How to link these two things ( Priority in notification and ABC indicators of Tech object ) object and make it default.

Dear Pete,
Yes, this default data can be allowed to get into notification while saving.
The only criteria is to have automatic population of priority field based on criticality of equipment.

Link between ABC Indicator and Priority

My client requires the Link between ABC Indicator and Priority. i.e., While creation of notification, based on the ABC indicator assigned in the Equipment, Priority should be selected.

Yes you can acheive this by Development use the Below User Exit or Fubctional Module to get it done

BADI-->NOTIF_EVENT_SAVE Change When Saving Notification
When Notification create against the Equipment which Having ABC Indicator it will stop Notification while Saving the Notification By checking The ABC Indicator on Equipment and Proposes Priority which You already defined in Configuration with Proposed New Dates for Notification Completion Dates.Notification save allowed once you fill Exact value of Priority.

ABC indicator transfer to sub equipments

We use Superior and Sub equipments and we have different ABC indicators for both. However when I change ABC indicator for superior equipment, same gets transferred to sub equipments
Is there a way I can stop this....I do not want data transfer to sub equipment

When you assign any equipment as sub-equipment in IE02 please Unmarked the check box Sub-Eq In structure Tab
(Indicator showing sub-pieces of equipment exist
Indicator showing that sub-pieces of equipment are allocated to this piece of equipment

Auto populate field 'ABC Indic' under Organization tab in IE01/IE02/IE03

Hi Folks,
I need to Autopopulate the selected value for the 'ABC Indic' dropdown within the 'Location Data' group, under 'Organization' tab in IE01/IE02/IE03, based on a given Business condition for equipment numbers.
The field pertains to ABCKZ of table ILOA (And subsequently in the database view ITOB)
This standard field is made visible in the transactions via configuration.
I understand that I need to make this change using the User exit 'EXIT_SAPLITO0_002'. However, I do not seem to be having a handle to the field ABCKZ as an exporting/changing parameter in any of the exporting structures ISTRU_EQ / ISTRU_EZ / IFLO_USR1). Since this is not a custom field , i am not sure if I must include it as a custom include in one of the afore mentioned structures. ( Even if this were to be done, IFLO_USER1 [which is the exit mod structure for ILOA] does not have a Customer Include)
All I need is a handle to the field, so that i can make the required change and the update will happen without any further interventions.
Any pointers to this issue would be very helpful.

Vendor report for ABC indicator field

Hi All,
My client uses field ABC indicator in the purchasing data view of the vendor master. They want to have reports based on this field.
Are there any standard reports in SAP which can give total purchased value and quantity for a vendor with specific value of ABC indicator?

Updation of ABC indicator in Material Master

Hi,
For ABC analysis, I carried out it according to T_code MC40(Usage value). I got the category of material. For eg "A".But how the ABC indicator updates in Material master.Because I couldnt get indicator in MRP1 view.
Whats the right way? Pls guide me.

Hi,
Update of consumption is based on movement type, and you can decide which movement types should have or have not consumption updating.
Check in transaction OMJJ if the movement types in question have indicator "Consumption posting" (field V_156_VC-KZVBU) as marked.
If it is the case, consumption is updated, opposite for un-ticked.

ABC indicator removal

Having some clarification cycle count indicator...
1) How to mass remove the ABC indicator set for the material master ?
ie, mass change from a indicator specified to blank field.

Hi,
Just tested this out in my system and it works. Here's what I did.
1) Execute MM17
2) Choose Fields Tab --> Search for MARC-ABCIN and then highlight and execute
3) Enter Material and Plant then execute
4) At the new values line, leave it blank then, click on carry out mass change button
5) Save
Even with CC Fixed indicator checked, I am still able to change the value to blank.

ABC Indicator sap PM

Hi PM gurus
I have a problem. I change a ABC Indicator value of Functional Locations to A via transaction IL02. However, when i get a report with transaction IW38, I dont see A value in ABC Indicator field in some of the Functional Locations. I am sure I have changed and saved the value of that field. What may be the reason? Do you have any idea? Thanks in advance

ABC indicator in Material Master

Hi experts,
Could you please let me know if the ABC indicator field used in MRP1 view is Plant dependant or Plant independant?
We have 2 plants. So should we set this ABC indicator seperately for Plant 1 & Plant 2?

ABC INDICATOR:
Indicator that classifies a material as an A, B, or C part according to
its consumption value. This classification process is known as the ABC
analysis.
The three indicators have the following meanings:
o   A - important part, high consumption value
o   B - less important part, medium consumption value
o   C - relatively unimportant part, low consumption value
So we can say that this information in Material master is plant specific (Plant dependent)
Logically if we think the material which is of high importance and have high consumption in one plant need not have to be important with same level of consumption in another plant.

ABC indicator for project stock

Is there a way to run MIBC and assign abc indicator to project stock that is not valuated or even for the part numbers to show up on this list? What needs to be done in order for this to show up on the report? IS there a way to make it valuated and but not company own stock valuation?

MIBC report will show the list of material based on the Consumption or Requirement and it will suggest ABC indicator considering the both factor.
The Project stock can be managed as valuated project stock or nonvaluated project stock.

Mandatory check for ABC Indicator- MRP1 view

Dear All,
I want to make ABC Indicator mandatory for ROH material type and to the particular plant. How can I achieve this?
I tried to change in customization (Change 'Field selection for data screens' ), but its effecting other fields also. because in the field selection group 51 has so many other fields.
Should I have to create new field section group & field reference Or any other way? Need your valuable guidance.

hi Vijay,
if you want to control it thru configuration then you have to create a new field selection group and then you can make the ABC indicator mandatory.
you can also use the user exit in material master which will throw an error message at the time of saving of material master if the ABC indicator field is blank.
