Equipment No. Range

Hi Experts,
Is Marinating of No. Range of equipment possible group wise only. In OIEN t-code I have created a group where there are 10 no. of elements ( Equipment Categories E,M,I etc ) in one group. My requirement is that I want to change the No. Range of each elements ( Equipment Categories E,M,I etc ) in group. But my problem is whenever I am changing the No. Range  of any element, it implies to the group. Can anybody tell me how can I achieve the different No. range for the elements available in a group.

Hi
I think you have to use one group for each equipment category for your procedure

  • Plant specific equipment number ranges

    Hi,
Is there ay possibility to maintain plant specific Equipment number ranges, kindly suggest

    Naveen,
Equipment number ranges are defined at client level. Probably what I could suggest is to create new equipment category for different plants and for that you can assign different number ranges.

  • Equipment number range

    Dear All,
Is there any exit available for configuring alphanumeric internal number range for equipment.
My client requirement is equipment should generate alphanumeric number internally.
    Thanks in advance
    Johnson

    Hi Johnson
I dont think we can achieve the Internal Alphanumeric Number Range for Equipment
The Alphanumeric no range has to be set externally where either a User or an External System can assign the number

  • Equipment Number Range Doubt

    Gurus

But i can create equipement upto 18 characters without any error / block. Why?
I want system should give me error when number range is more than 15 characters but currently i can create upto 18
Please let me know what needs to be done so that system checks this number range
    Regards

    Hi Paul
Thanks for replying. Unfortunately i could not interpret what you are trying to say
Can you please elaborate? What should i do so that system will not allow me to keep more than 15 characters in number range for  equipement??
    Hi Atul
Does it mean that i should keep upper limit also? It should also be 15 characters??

  • Equipment Number Range Clarification

    Hi,
I have defined the below number range as Creation of Equiment Master (Txn. IE01) for Category Q / Z.
    AAA-0000-AAA ZZZ-9999-ZZZ
During creation, I would like to change the number as like EDP15890UYT. Can I use the below user exit for the same. If so, can you please pass the code.
    IEQM0003 -> EXIT_SAPMIEQ0_001

No need to write any logic on this exit.

  • External Number Rane for Equipment using Serialization

    Hi All,
    I have following requirement.
I need to  give the external number range to equipment, at the same time this equipment is serialized. How can it be achieved?
Description: Materials are purchased and at the time of GR material is serialized. I dont want to use the internal number range for equipment, so I am not using equipment number range creation at the time of GR.
Also I can't use the change serial number & activate equipment funcationality. ie. IQ02. (Beacuse here again internal number range for equipment is used)
    Sundar

    Hi Pete,
I can use the external number range at the GR/GI if material serial number and equiment numbers are synchronus.
But in our case both serial number and equipment number are different.
How can I achieve external number range for equipment for the material and serial number which are already in store. I have to activate the equipement view after the GR for same serial number....OR.....I have to create the equipment seperatly with external number range with same serial number which is available in store.

  • Equipment & Material Serial Numbers

    Dear Masters,
Our MM Consultant has defined a new material type with serial number as mandatory. Now, at the time of posting in Goods Receipt, it is giving the error for the equipment number range for object EQUIP_NR.
We do not want to create any Equipment directly for this but why this is shown this error please do help, its urgent.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chin2

    Dear Friends,
Thanks for your prompt reply, we had created the serial number profile with option 02 (with equipment) but now we have changed it to 01(without equipment) as per you both said. But still we are getting the same error screen. And the error screen is showing the error about the equipment number range.
    Please do guide
    Thanks once again.

I have tried to create new serial number profile with 01 (Without Equipment) but still it is giving me the same error for equipment number range

  • Nuber Ranges for Equipments

    Dear Sapgurus,
Kindly guide me on the following issue. Its very very urgent as the work has been held due to this.
Number range does not exist for equipment.
    Diagnosis.
No equipment number ranges have been created.
    Procedure
Create the number ranges for the number range object EQUIP_NR.
Use the customizing function to allocate equipment categories to number Ranges.
    Thanks & Regards,

    hi
Type T code OIEN, and select the GROUP button in the application toll bar or In the menu bar select GROUP maintain ,you will reach another screen , check whether your equipment category is assinged to some groups,ie for example if you have created M as equipment category and PM as a group, check whether M is under the group PM ,if it is not then select you equip.cat. and assign to the group,
if no group is available , then in the Menu bar select GROUP INSERT where you have to maintain the number ranges and then assign your equipment category to the group created

  • CONNECT BY PRIOR and performance of Query Plan

    Anyone,
I have an SQL Statement that is performing rather slow and I am trying to figure out if I could optimize it. Here is the SQL:
       SELECT/*+ index(MAXIMO.EQNDX99) */
            maximo.equipment.eqnum, maximo.equipment.parent, LEVEL
       FROM maximo.equipment@maxi_dblink
WHERE parent = :b1 CONNECT BY PRIOR eqnum = parent
ORDER BY eqnum, LEVELAfter some research in this board I followed some advice found to create an index on the table for both the eqnum, parent and the parent, eqnum. EQNDX99 and EQNDX999 respectivley.
Now the Qery Plan for this query shows the following:
    SELECT STATEMENT (REMOTE)
       SORT (ORDER BY)
          FILTER
             CONNECT BY
INDEX (FAST FULL SCAN) EQNDX99 (NON-UNIQUE)
TABLE ACESS (BY USER ROWID) EQUIPMENT
INDEX (RANGE SCAN) EQNDX999 (NON-UNIQUE)Now it appears to be using both indexes but it is operating through a DBLINK. Is there anything else I can do to increase performance??? It appears to be using the HINT through the link as well.
Thanks for any help I can get,
    David Miller

how long does it takes to complete the query?

  • OSPF and VLANs

    Scope of Inquiry:
I've supported heterogeneous networks for merely a decade, but never quite big enough to expose me to Enterprise routing/switching concepts in real-time. I've supported numerous Metro Ethernet hub and spoke topologies, as well as a few racks in a datacenter environment ... however, once again ... no real application of OSPF, EIGRP, etc.
I'm learning some of the fundamental concepts of OSPF, adjacency, LSA types, etc... but one thing that has me tripped up is whether or not/how VLANs would be leveraged in a real-world scenario, in an OSPF environment.
Can anyone kindly give me a very clear and concise explanation/high-level explanation of the contextual application of VLANs in an OSPF network, including whether or not tags would exist in each area, etc. * Please do not pontificate --- that is to overstate a simple explanation with extraneous details that are outside the scope of a basic/real-world explanation. Hope that wasn't too terse, but I'm trying to gain a working knowledge of the protocol and its nuances quickly.
    Thanks!

    Posting
Hmm, don't know if I can briefly provide such a description.  Currently, I work in a large company (about 100,000 employees [with about 5,000 Enterprise switches and routers]) and my purview is about 10% of our Enterprise's switches and routers.  My sites range is size from just supporting a few hosts to thousands of hosts, equipment "sizes" range from Cisco 800 series ISRs, up to 6500s in VSS pairs.
From a VLAN standpoint, VLANs generally provide subnets for hosts which also range is size from a /29 up to a /23.  VLAN/subnets are defined principally for like hosts and sized for the number of like hosts.  However, generally like host VLANs/subnets are split into multiple like VLANs/subnets once you get up to about a /24.
A VLAN/subnet might only be hosted on one large chassis (4510 or 6509/6513) or it might be hosted on multiple L2 switches (2Ks/3Ks).  Generally (but not always) VLANs/subnets do not span multiple sites.
At the moment, all sites with a region, generally one or more adjacent US States, are grouped into the same OSPF area.  I.e. such a region might have 50 to a couple of hundred OSPF "routers" in the same area.
Originally area zero was used to tie the region areas together, but currently BGP is used with the WAN core (between regions).
OSPF, per area, of course has all the subnets being hosted by VLANs and also all the (numbered) p2p links (per region/OSPF-area networks can run into a couple of hundred).
LAN designs are generally just 1 or 2 layers, this because you can host so much on a large chassis or stack.  For example, at one of my larger sites, my user edge devices are 3 6509s with 96 port line cards.  As the users ports support both VoIP and data VLANs, a single data or VoIP VLAN spans two line cards (i.e. 192 ports).  So with 7 user line cards, the chassis hosts 4 data VLANs/subnets(/24) and 4 VoIP VLANs/subnets(/24).  As the 6509 has a L3 sup, the 8 chassis subnets are included in that device's OSPF router section and advertized to the rest of the OSPF area (via a dual gig, L3 Etherchannel, uplinked to a site core 6509 - the latter having two 10g SM off-site OSPF p2p fiber links).
At a small (old technology) branch, I might have a "ring" of several 2K series switches.  For routing I'll have some 3K switch with an off-site gig link and a connection to one of the 2K switches.  I might also have a small ISR with a VPN tunnel, for off-site, with a connection to a different 2K switch.  There will be one to several VLANs/subnets defined on the 2K switches and 3K switch.  The ISR will indirectly have access to the VLANs via .q subinterfaces.  The 3K and ISR provide the subnet getways and include the VLAN/subnets into OSPF.  The also generally will run HSRP for the VLAN/subnet gateway IP.
At a small (newer technology) branch, may have a L3 stack and an ISR.  One stack member has the high speed off-site gig link, the ISR connects to a different stack member.  However, the ISR now has a L3 routed p2p link to the L3 stack; there's no HSRP.  Yet, VLANs/subnets are pretty much as the above (paragraph).
Hopefully the above gives you a view into some real world, large scale, with VLANs and OSPF.
If you have additional questions, feel free to ask.

  • LBK1  LOGBOOK Menu bar : SAP PM

    Hi ,
Can Any one Guide me  how Logbook   EDIT option  in Menu Bar  can be brought in First Screen shot  that coming in Second one
    Tcode LBK1
    First
    Second

    Hi Kalyan ,
I have also used development to fulfill the client requirement without SAP Logbook . Even in SAP logbook you have to do developments . So , if you are not using other functionalities like changing creating notification from logbook then you can also create your own screen to do the same .
Please find the below logic we have used to design logbook screen :
    1. Searching screen of the logbook contains fields like plant , date , equipment category range.
    2. On the basis of entries in selection screen list of equipment's will be displayed vertically and measurement points will be displayed horizontally as column names .
    3. Against each and every equipment you can enter measurement readings which will create measurement document at the back end .
In this you can also add options of creating notification . Hope this will help
    Regards

  • External number range in equipment

    Hello!
I want to create a number range in equipment which contains letters, numbers, symbols.
    For example equipment numbers like:
    A125D-6
    1-DSDV
    tHANK YOU!

Hi, if you pres F1 help in OEIN  it is written:
"External intervals can only contain either letters or numbers, as sorting can differ between platforms (Code page):
    Allowed:  000001 to 999999
      AAAAAA to ZZZZZZ
    Not allowed:  AAAAAA to 999999
So it looks like either leters or numbers but not both.
However you can ask also in Plant Maintenance forum
    Best Regards, Peter

  • Problem in number range assignment to equipment category

    Hi Gurus,
I have created equipment categories & now want to maintain no. range for them. But by mistake i have assigned the categories to standard no. range group (PM) .Now i want to reverse it by deassigning to its original place. Please suggest me the way how i can do it so that i can create a new no. range group & assign equipment categories there.
Also to activate the check box for external number range i am not able to activate or deactivate the check box. Please suggest for this problem also.
    Regards,
    Vivek

    Dear,
For deassigning to it's orignal place
    Select the category
Press the select element or F2
Select the Not Assignt (at bottom of the screen)
    Press the Element/Group or F5
For creating a new no. range
    Select Group at Menu Bar
    Select Insert
Now give he Text and give the no. range
u can not activate or deactivate External check box. See there are two lines if u want to give external no. range then assign the no. range at second line where external no. range check box is already activated.
    Regards
    Sunil
