Equipment numbering (internal)

Dear Gurus;
I have used internal number range for equipments. While uploading the equipment master data it was found that the equipment creation started from 1000000022 instead of 1000000001.
Why it would have happened, as there were no equipments created in the system in that particular category. Also it was confirmed that the 'current number was 0' before upload.
What precaution I should take, so that it does not happen again? Also if I want to remove the created equipments in the system, what's the procedure of this?

use T code SE11 and enter ITOB or EQUI in database table, then press the display button ,you will reach the next screen,in that screen press the <b>content</b> button and execute .you will get the all the equipment in database tables

Hi All,
i have assigned the standard serial profile "0001" in a material and performed one full cycle from MM to SD.In "OBJK" table system is showing the equipment numbers, but when i cheked in IE03 the system is showing error message "Serial number XXXXXXXXXX" is not defined. I want to have this equipment number to be created automativcally.
Anyone, can explain what is this Equipment number??

when you do the transaction the system generate the "equipment" for each serial number internally.

How to config the batch numbers internally from remaining?

Hi All
Firsr i followed the path and activated the internal batch number assignment(IMG ---> Logistics - General ---> Batch Management ---> Batch Number Assignment ---> Activate Internal Batch Number Assignment)
then i have maintained the number ranges for the batches
Still when I do MIGO the batch tab appears but the system is not generating the batch numbers internally instead its asking to enter the batch number.
Please suggest if I have missed any other config or any master data towards the settings for Batch Management and also to have the system create the batch numbers at the GR stage.

I'd like to program a LOCAL ACCESS NUMBER, then insert a WAIT or a PAUSE function, followed by a constant string of numbers [international code, country code and the destination phone number]. Dialing the local, US access number is not an issue, but I can't find any info in the manual on how to insert a WAIT or PAUSE or how to insert the remaining string of international codes and destination phone number. Produce equipment for internal use (cost center)

Hi,
We are a high tech company selling and producing configurable equipment.
Sometimes our marketing department orders such an equipment for demo reasons. After this demo the equipment must be returned to be disassembled or returned into stock until it is needed in another demo or by our engineering department. In other words we would like to produce equipment and have them in stock until a cost center needs it. We think we have some solutions to counter this problem :
- using a dummy customer in SD (--> our finance department is not in favour of this). If the equipment returns we can make a return and put it into stock.
- create an independent requirement using transaction MD81. If a cost center needs it we do a goods issue (more difficult to keep track on things)
-create a planned order
Are there other solutions ? If not which one do you prefer and why ?
Also these equiments sometimes needs to be repaired or modified. We use the module CS (customer service) to do repairs for customers but in this case we are our own customer. The idea of using a dummy customer is not preferred by our finance department. Can we use the module PM (plant maintenance) for this ?

Mixing US equipment with international version of Airport Extreme

Hello! My question refers to differences in the 802.11n specifications between the US and Europe.
In the tech spec of Airport Extreme one can find the following statement:
Channels 1-11, 36-48, and 149-165 approved for use in the United States and Canada
Channels 1-13 and 36-64 approved for use in Japan
Channels 1-13 and 36-140 approved for use in Europe
My Airport Extreme was bought in the US. My computers and my Airport Express in Europe. I would like to know whether in 802.11n/5Ghz mode my Airport Extreme base station will automatically choose only channels which can be used by all (European) clients, so essentially limit itself to 36-48 because these are the channels shared between the US and the European specifications. Any thoughts?

Ran into the same problem - out of the box, AEBS and TC are customized to the region where they are sold. The question now is - is this due to different hardware, firmware or a SW configuration setting that Airport Utility just does not expose?
Given that the Apple documentation states compatibility with US, Europe and some Asian countries for the same model number (A1301 for the latest AEBS), different actual HW seems unlikely. Different firmware is possible, but if you look at the URL from which Airport Utility downloads the firmware, you will find a single version and no way to select a region.
I'll raise the issue with Apple Support. In the meantime, if anyone in this forum knows whether and how the region can be changed in a legal way, it would be nice to hear from him/her ...

Table link for Internal Class no. and Equipment no.

Hi PM Experts,
I am facing a problem while creating a report for Equipment characteristic values report.
The problem is that Equipment characteristics are updated through BDC. So when I am trying to link the table EQUI and AUSP as
EQUI_EQUNR = AUSP_OBJEK, which normally in standard systems are equal. But in our system as characteristics are updated through BDC, so AUSP_OBJEK contains some other object. So please help to get relation between equipment and Internal class number

San,
Creation through BDC wouldn't change the value.The value should be the same.However be aware that that you will not be able to link these two table fields directly in select statement since the field types are different. Just move the equipment number to a field of type AUSP-OBJEK and then do the select.

External Number Range setting for Equipment Not working

As per the Requirement I have assigned A00000000000 - ZZZZZZZZZZZZ to an equipment category through OIEN.
but I am getting the error message in the IE01 screen whenever I try to create an equiment with some external number for this category.
Equipment category does not allow alphanumeric equipment number
Can some one help whether anyother settings are needed.
(It is to be noted that system gives correct error message if I try to create equipment without giving external number - No internal number range defined for equipment category)

DTW General Entry (Goods Receipt) with Serial numbers

Hi all,
I want to import 540 items with serial numbers using the General Entry templates. Some items have as many as 200 serial numbers. Total number of serial numbers for 540 items are about 24,000.
In the Serial Numbers template, will I have to cover 24,000 rows? Is it possible to auto-create the serial numbers with DTW?
In which field should I put the serial numbers - Internal or System?

Multiple batch numbering in one client.

Hi PP Gurus,
We have a business scenario wherein more than one business exist. For clients pharma business then batch numering logi is different and for other businesses it is different.
We have a proposal by which the Batch numbering at the time of Process order creation will be checked by User Exit about the existence of the batch key in manually.
But for other business we want to keep Internal batch numbering with other User Exit.
Can we have more than one kind of batch numbering; Internal & External both with different batch numbering logic?

For the movement type where the batch is getting generated, in customizing for Batch creation
set it for Automatic / Manual check in USER EXIT.

Annual Maintenance Contract for Equipment Pieces in SAP

Hi All,
I am aware of the standard SAP function of Service Procurement.
However my requirement is as follows:-
1.I want to create a 'F' Account Assigned service Purchase order (Annual Maintenance Contract) with a option in the PO screen to enter equipment numbers.On saving the PO,dynamically a Maintenance order should get created with the equipment pieces in the object List.
2.The P.O number of AMC should get dynamically populated in the equipment master view for the equipment pieces mentioned in the AMC.
3.During Notification or Maintenance order creation,I want to use the OIK(Object Information Key) or any other pop-up screen for information regarding the AMC PO Number with validity period.
4.During Service entry preparation want to put the equipment number,for which AMC activity has been performed.
5.Finally want to generate a report to display the equipment pieces for which AMC activity got missed.
Request all to provide a solution for this as all maintenance services have been hired for my equipment pieces and I want to utilize all the standard SAP reports.

Dear Sujoy,
If you exactly require the same way what you have written, it would be a product development and not recomended.
Follow the cycle described below.
1. Create a Contract with F & D (Services & Assigned to Maint Order).
2. Create all required Equipment.
3. Create Equipment Task List with External Operation Control Key and assign the Contract Number for each Opeartion. (Service values from contract will not be updated Automatically, either update manually or do a development for this part).
4. Create Maintenance Plans an dinclude the Task Lists.
5. Orders are generated with PR's with reference to Contract.
6. Let them release monthly or fortnightly PO's.
7. On Submission of Service report, create SES and release.
In this way you will have complete Maintenance History with cost & control.

Hi, if you pres F1 help in OEIN it is written:
"External intervals can only contain either letters or numbers, as sorting can differ between platforms (Code page):
Allowed: 000001 to 999999
AAAAAA to ZZZZZZ
Not allowed: AAAAAA to 999999
So it looks like either leters or numbers but not both.
However you can ask also in Plant Maintenance forum

In which table of CRM the Serial number and Equipment information stores.

Recently I have downloaded all the serial numbers and Equipment numbers from backend system by doing the initial download of the object SERIALNUMBER and EQUIPMENT.
I can see the BDOC monitor in which all BDOC are in green ststus and R3AM1 the object ststus is also green.
My problem is I am unable to find the downloaded information in CRM system.Can anyone help me in finding out where can I get these information.

If I understand correctly your Serial number is not linked to any equipment which can be opened using IE03.
"Serial number download functionality allows you to replicate pure serial numbers (serial numbers that are not associated with equipment) along with their associated business partners and configuration from SAP ECC to SAP CRM as objects."

In that case you should not download object EQUIPMENT. You just need to download object SERIALNUMBER. Check the number of entries in table COMM_PRODUCT before and after download. Search for Equipment number in field PRODUCT_ID. Check table COM_TA_R3_ID with the product guid from previous search.

Need Serial Numbers frm Database

Hi all,
How to take dump for serial numbers in stocks for a given material group from the SAP database. I have tried using table "EQUI" but here I could not get the details as required by me though plant and storage are available in table "EQUI".Then I tried getting it from table "EQBS" here in input selection screen since there is no option for Material number I have to give Equipment number.In our case every single serial number has unique equipment number.So one material code has N serial numbers and N equipment numbers maintained in stocks.
To summarize in simple way
My requirement is to get all the serial numbers available against each material code in a given material group which are in stocks through tables.
