Hi

-My recovery CD is expired I dont use that recover so far I dont know how it expires. Now a days I am in pakistan and I want to know is there any office of Toshiba in pakistan from where I can purchase the recovery CD? If yes please mention the address and contact number. I live in islamabad pakistan.
-Is there any backup of recovery in laptop drive or not so I will make a recovery cd from it?
-And one more thing if I download the Windows from the Microsoft official website and use the product key which is written on the back of my laptop will it work or not?
Please help

Hi buddy,
> Can any one provide me the recovery disc order page link? I try alot but didnt find it.
Yes, read the posting above because the recovery disk can’t be downloaded. Get in contact with an authorized service provider and the guys can provide you such a disk.
> And one more thing is there any contractor of toshiba in islambad pakistan so I can buy the recovery disc from them?
Check the posting from Syntax to find an authorized service provider
> Why I am unable to see the Aquium series name in the list of recovery disk list?
It’s called *E*quium and not Aquium. Anyway, what list of recovery disk you have and where you search?
To be honest we can discuss about this for hours but you must understand that it’s not possible to download it and if you want a new recovery disk have a look on Toshiba website and search for nearest authorized service provider. You can get in contact with the guys if you give them a call or write a short email. Then you can clarify this problem with guys directly.

  • Equium A100-338 - Do I have to buy a recovery disk?

    Hi,
I have a bit of a dilemma. The vista sticker on my Toshiba Equium A100-338 has worn out (was like that when I bought it). I upgraded my hard drive, installed Windows 7, then gave my old one away (forgetting it had the recovery partition on it). I want to sell the laptop so returning to its original state would be ideal.
Toshiba said I must buy a recovery disc for 29.90, which is ridiculous. Can anyone else help me?
Laptop details: Toshiba Equium A100-338 PSAAQE-006008AV
    Cheers

    Hi!
If you want the factory settings back as the first time you started the notebook you have to buy a Toshiba recovery disk. This disk contains an image of the factory settings and so you can install the notebook in few minutes with all Toshiba drivers and tools.
But I dont understand why this is ridiculous for you. I mean normally you get on Toshiba notebook with Vista after the first start a message that you should burn the recovery disk yourself. This takes only 10 minutes and you need only one or two DVD disks. I did this on my Toshiba notebook and I think you should take 10 minutes from your free time to do this too.
However, nobody says that you have to buy the disk because you can also use a Microsoft disk and download the Toshiba stuff on the Toshiba page but therefore you need a lot of more time.
    Bye

  • Equium A100 PSAAQE: need tools and drivers

I am new to this forum, and I think this thread is fairly close to my problem.
I recently bought an Equium A100-33888 laptop notebook, Model PSAAQE.
As it was secondhand, the dealer reformatted the disc - installing, as the original, Vista Home Premium.
But he has cleared (removed) as far as I can see, the Toshiba special utilities as described in the manual. That is, there are no folders/files named toshiba.
(I also have a rather older toshiba laptop, which does have some folders/files named toshiba - including help files for the utilities.)
I gather from a quick look throuh the form that there may be what seems to be described as a driver download which might enable me to restore these utilities. Can someone please advise me as to exactly which driver would be appropriate, and where to find it?
I certainly do not want to lose (reinstall) all the programs I have installed on this laptop, and would rather do without the utilities.
I assume and hope that the general hotkeys (Fn + hotkey) all work without the utilities.
Please advise me on both questions.
    Thanks.

    Hi
I assume you need drivers and tools for Vista. Right?
Toshiba European driver page provides all drivers and tools as you can see on the screenshot below:

  • I need a Wi-FI driver for Equium A100-027

I own a Toshiba Equium A100-027 with the Atheros AR5006EG Wi-Fi Adapter. The Laptop is running on Windows XP and I need some software to use the wireless adapter. Could someone help me somehow?
The Driver had a Genuiune Windows Vista but it was working slow and I've changed the OS to XP.

All you need is the right driver for WLAN card. Some special software is not necessary because you can configure WLAN using Windows WLAN settings.

  • Need to buy key for Equium A100-147

need to buy a replacement key for A100-147 but need the part number ,
    can you help! thanks

    Hi
You can get just the whole keyboard.
As far as I know its not possible to replace the keyboard key of course you can remove the key cap but if you have some mechanical key problems, the cap replacement does not help you so you need the keyboard and the compatible parts can be ordered from Toshiba service in your country.

  • Equium A100-027: Is it possible to upgrade the graphic card?

I recently received an Equium A100-027 for my birthday. Overall I'm extremely pleased with it, however the only problem I have is with the graphics card. I am a gamer, and the graphics card just can't handle most modern games.
I am looking into how to upgrade it, how much it will cost etc. However I don't wanna buy a graphics card just to realise that the inside is locked down. Since it's only a week old I also don't want to take a hammer to it just yet ;-)
Can anyone tell me how hard it is to upgrade the graphics card? Is it locked down, or easily accessible?

    Hi Emonn
Unfortunately, the graphic card upgrade is not possible. I dont know if you are familiar with the notebook technology but you should know that the graphic cards installed on the notebook motherboards are not same like the GPUs for desktop PCs.
The card a fixed and there is no way for an upgrade!!!
You can upgrade the memory modules or the HDD on the notebooks but not the graphic card!!!
Im also an gamer and Im a notebook owner but I dont use this unit for gaming but for usual usage like internet, programming, mps, etc
I have a second gaming machine and its a desktop PC. Its support a water cooling module and a really great graphic card but I will change it to the newest one NVIDIA which supports the directX10.
This is a future and all newest games will need this DrectX10!!!

  • Equium A100-027 PSAAQ - having problems accessing Internet with WLan

Just installed WXP on my Equium A100-027 (PSAAQ) as Vista did not like. Now am having problems accessing Internet. What drivers do I need to download and how do I install them?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I would suggest you to check the driver site of toshiba
    -> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
search for your machine and download the wlan drivers. If you dont know which one you need just download all of them and install em, one of that drivers MUST work. ;)

  • Equium A100 - can I use E drive for data saving?

My Equium A100-27 has an 80GB hard drive, this is slit in half C drive and E drive.
I understand that the E drive is used for system recovery purposes but can I also use it to store data on?
If I do use it for data how much room should be left clear for system recovery?

    Hi
I think the E partition is used for Recover image. The Toshiba notebooks are preinstalled with an Toshiba recover disk creator. This tool allows you to create a own disk. And the image is placed on the additional partition

  • Equium A100-147 Virtual Sound reinstall problem

I have read a few posts relating to the same problem I have, but with no definitive answer. I have the Equium A100-147 with Windows XP Media Center. I downloaded some up to date files from the Toshiba site (all for my model), including:
    acsil-xpmce-100008-en
    assist-xpmce-10300-en
    confree-xpmce-59007ab-en
    csutil-xpmce-7211006
    ctrls-xpmce-3221506-en
    display-xpmce-142004543
    fmd-xpmce-2004
    pcdt-xpmce-321u-en
    pwrsav-xpmce-70307i-en
    sdform-xpmce-2200-en
    sd-secure-xpmce-104-en
    sound-xpmce-51005253
    toupad-xpmce-10001st-en
and then: tvs-xpmce-10312-en (latest Virtual Sound driver for the A100-147)
I uninstalled the old version of the Virtual Sound driver before attempting to install the new one. But as I have seen elsewhere, I get the message:
"Toshiba Virtual Sound does not support your computer."
I have spent all afternoon looking up and trying to think of ways to fix this. I have since updated my BIOS (bios-550win). Not one thing I try will make it work. I have even deleted references to Virtual Sound in the registry in case there was any conflict going on. It has made no difference though.
Could someone from Toshiba please explain why I am being told that I cannot install what was working perfectly well until this morning, prior to these updates, which are all for my notebook model? It's ridiculous. Apologies for my tone, but having wasted hours on this, I am extremely frustrated and just want my laptop back the way it was (and before you ask, yes, I have tried a System Restore, but that does not work either).
    Thanks,
    Mac

I ran some report the other night... not sure if this gives a clue to anything:

  • Equium A100-147 - System slow and sound distorted

    Hi, Help needed.
I have the Equium A100-147, been working fine for a couple of year but in the last few weeks has ground practically to a halt, takes between 5-10 mins to startup and when starting and once started the sound is as if the memory is running slow (like distorted) this even at sign in when the windows tune plays.
Laptop has 2.5GB memory so should be plenty and 18GB free s not running low. Running XP SP2 MCE. Had zone alarm running, thinking this could be the problem have now switched to AVG, but still the same.
CPU in use when system idle, i.e. just started with no applications running fluctuates bbetween 25 and 55%
Any ideas on what it could be before I rebuild
    Thanks
    Gaffar

    Hi
I think this is a known problem of Windows that its getting slower after one year or two years ;)
I think you should try to defragment your HDD and to delete some programs that you dont need. Then clean your system using CCleaner.
Disable all programs in start up that you dont need.
Furthermore you should AntiVir. In my opinion its the best freeware antivirus program that you can have.
Last but not least you should try to update the sound driver. Check the Toshiba website for a newer version.

  • Equium A100-338 - battery power problem

    Hi,
My daughter has a Equium A100-338 bought in the UK 15 months ago, running Vista Home Premium. It has recently developed a problem with the battery life, which in theory should mean replacing the battery, but I'm not so sure!
The battery runs down quickly to say 80% 6 mins remaining, about 20 minutes after a full charge. Then putting it on charge it recovers to 100% in about 20 minutes. The laptop does get rather warm underneath, but I think that's probably normal, my other daughter's older Equium gets warm just the same.
Has anyone come across this issue, or is it just that it needs a new battery? I would have thought it should have lasted longer, as the other Equium's battery is still going strong and is a year older!
    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi
Hmm I think you battery is not dead and can be used much longer as you think.
I see youve got Vista on your notebook. This OS needs more notebook resources as the Win XP for example. This would also mean that the Vista preinstalled notebooks would run shorter on battery power as the notebook with Windows XP.
Last but not least the battery working time depends strongly on the notebook usage.
If you would play some games or would watch DVD movies then the battery would discharge faster.
    Regards

  • Equium A100-147 with error message "PXE-E61 Media Test Failure"

    Hi all,
I have Equium A100 out of warranty, due to error message "PXE-61 Media Test Failure" I took it to my local computer menders, they told me my Toshiba 60gb hard drive had failed (MG6034GSX) and replaced it with a another 120gb model.
I tried to reload system from Toshiba recovery disc, reload reaches 75% then messages come up saying it can't find loads of operating system files.
Thinking the Recovery disc was faulty I obtained a replacement from Toshiba, and this reload disc gave the same problem.
I have loaded XP Professional on to 120gb HDD and it runs OK but I would like to load original as it came with XP MCE.
Is my problem the 120gb HDD which should be as original 60gb and has the HDD got to be genuine Toshiba to accept the recovery media ?
Does anybody have any ideas, I would really appreciate your help.
    Cheers

    Hi R2D2
Thank you for your help. I tried the default bios settings and reformatting the HDD and an OS reinstall with the same outcome.
As you said it could be a HDD problem I returned it to the people who fitted the replacement HDD, they diagnosed a faulty HDD, replaced it under warranty and installed the OS for me. I guess the answer to "does the replacement HDD have to be genuine Toshiba" is no, in my case it doesn't.
Machine is now working fine. Thank you for your help, it's really appreciated and once again I think this is a great forum.
    Cheers
