Equium A200-1VO - touch pad doesn't work but external mouse does

I had a problem with my hard drive not working this just happened over night so I replaced the hard drive no problem and rebooted the system.
All is ok but the touch pad will not work.
I have tried FN+F9 this is ok I have updated the touch pad program still not working.
Please HELP!!!

To determine if its an hardware issue or a software issue do the following...
1) go into bios (f2) and set it to default settings and save
2) insert toshiba recovery cd and wait till the menu appears
You should be able to move the mouse inside the recovery GUI, if it doesnt move then try holding function and f9 again.
If this still doesnt work then your touchpad could be faulty.
*Note* dont start the wizard to recover vista because it will overwrite your data, just cancel this if the touchpad works under this.
If not just turn your laptop off and remove the recovery disk.

  • Since updating to firefox 9 my scroll feature on my touch pad doesn't work - help, please and thank you!

since updating to firefox 09 my scroll feature on my touch pad doesn't work. How do I fix this, please? I have a Gateway laptop. This has never happened before with other updates.
    Thanks so much!!

Thank you so much for your link - unfortunately it is totally beyond my skills to understand or correct the bug as posted. I can find the touchpad icon and right click to open the options and that's about my speed. If this is a bug should I uninstall Firefox 9? Thanks so much...

  • Satellite A200 - Touch pad doesn't work with Windows 7

    Hello,
I have an A200 and have upgraded to Windows 7. Can anyone help me with how I can get the touch pad to work?
I would be very gratefull for any advice.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Yes I have no function. I have been to the toshiba site but there was no windows 7 driver.
then to synaptics and downloaded the driver restarted as promted and still not working?

  • After installing FF4 scrolling up and down with the touch-pad doesn't work on my Acer Aspire anymore.

Neither does it work to browse forwards or backwards with the double gesture. Zooming in and out works fine though.
Everything still works in IE8 and in Google Chrome.
    The touch-pad uses an ALPS-driver.

Thanks, I don't have the file tp4table.dat on my computer. Currently I've reversed to 3.6 and will run it as long as it works. Really don't like 4.0 anyway... May be forced to use IE again if I don´t find anything better. Tried Chrome and worked well at first but now back and forth doesn't work there either and that's so annoying.

  • Touch pad doesn't work

I have a hp g60-233 nr notebook PC. Vista. Touch pad always worked til my wife plugged in her mouse now neither one works. The light is white not yellow or orange. I've tried uninstalling, tapping left coner twice, fn+prt sc,shift number lock u name it I think I've tried it from this very website. I don't no what else to try can SOMEONE please help me or is my computer shot? It keeps saying it corrupt code 39. I even did the unplugged adapter n battery n hold button for 30 sec n still nothing. Thanks

    Hello Jred75,
I have read your post on how the TouchPad on your notebook is not working since plugging in an external mouse, and I would be happy to help you!
Since the error message, Code 39, in the Device Manager indicates a missing or corrupted driver, I recommend removing and re-installing the TouchPad drivers for your computer. This can be done by removing the external mouse; removing the drivers from Programs and Features, and then deleting the remaining software from the Device Manager. Once the software is removed from your computer, please restart it.
The next step is to install the drivers for your Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad. This should enable your TouchPad once again.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Equium M40X-189 - Touch Pad has stopped working

The touch pad froze. I restarted the computer and the touch pad worked. This happened several times, and then restarting did not clear the problem. I checked under Device Manager several times and sometimes the mouse was listed and sometimes it wasn't! I Restored the computer to an earlier time when the touch pad was working but this didn't fix it. A Toshiba Agent suggested the soft ware was corrupt and I should back up every thing and use the recovery disc to reload the software for the touch pad. I'm not ready to do this yet. Currently an ALPS Pointing Device and an HID Compliant Mouse are listed under Device Manager and both are erroneously reported as working. Any other ideas on how to fix the touch pad?

    Hello
In my opinion you should try to use external mouse to see if this occur again and again. Believe me on this way it is not easy to say why this happen.
Maybe there is some hardware problem but it must be tested. If you preinstall the unit with recovery CD the unit will be clean and on this way it is not possible to say that some additional software has any kind of influence on this.

  • Touch pad doesn't work and some icons blinks after start up in hp dv4 pavilion 1211TU??

immediately after start up,my computer icon and task bar continuosly blinks and touch pad doesnt work,,it does'nt allow me to click on anything as everything seems to be blinking.and then if i press any button  on keyboard the blinking stops and laptop works normally....is it a hardware problem or a software problem?

    Hey there Kin,
Im not sure I understand the issue. Do you receive any error messages when you log in? To me this sounds like a software issue. If everything works normal pressing a button I would assume all the hardware is fine.

  • All of a sudden my track pad doesn't work properly and mouse pointer is jumping all over my screen

Help, it feels like someone else is controlling my mouse.  This just started happening.  My trackpad doesn't work or works sporadically.  While typing the pointer is scrolling all over my screen.  This is really annoying.

Great tip! Your suggestion to check for a swollen battery in my laptop is working for me. You should get credit for solving the problem.
On my MacBook Pro (2008), my cursor was out-of-control for the past couple of days, like it was having a sissy-fit. In TextEdit, for example, I would enter text, but the text would no longer be entered smoothly, in sync with my typing. Nor would the text appear where I wanted it go. Sometimes, the text I was typing, say in the last line of the document, would jump and insert itself somewhere above in the document. Sometimes, entire lines of text, or entire paragraphs, would get highlighted and then immediately deleted upon my hitting the next keystroke. Not an acceptable way to work!
I tested this odd behavior in Leopard and in Snow Leopard and in Lion, which are all partitioned on my laptop's hard drive. Since I could not isolate the problem to any one version of the Mac OS, I began to fear that my motherboard had gotten compromised and went defective on me.
Your tip proved that it was merely a swollen battery that was the cause of my problems. I was able to confirm this by removing the original battery (now 4 years old) and placing it on a hard surface. It rocked like a see-saw, ever so slightly, about 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch at the far sides of the rocking motion. When I looked at that original, swollen battery from the side, I got further indication that your insight was likely correct, for I could spy the area where the swelling was occurring: it was at an edge in the middle of the battery, and it was separating from the base by about 1/16-inch, just enough to make me wonder why the "springiness" had suddenly disappeared from the central portion of my trackpad.
That change in the touch and the lack of aural feedback (i.e. no "click" sound or feeling) when I depressed the trackpad in the central section, was my first clue that something was wrong. The crazy cursor behavior on-screen was further indication that something was amiss.
I type this reply under A/C power, as the replacement battery, which I had purchased from Other World Computing back in September 2011 for just such an eventuality, is now charging. At first, I was worried that the replacement battery was a dud, for it was stuck on 0% for nearly 10-15 minutes before it began to take a charge. But, 30 minutes of paience has paid off: the replacement battery is now at 15% and getting more powerful by the minute.

  • 5th Gen iPod doesn't work but 20GB one does

My 5th generation iPod will connect to Windows, but not to iTunes. I don't think it's a problem with the computer or iTunes because when I connect my 20 gb iPod everything works how it is supposed to. I tried the majority of the steps that Apple suggested, but none of them worked.
Anything to help would be greatly appreciated.
    hewlet packard   Windows XP

Here, I'll go into a little more detail.
When I plug my iPod in with iTunes closed, it shows up in My Computer just like it's supposed to with the Do Not Disconnect on the screen. After I open iTunes, the iPod keeps that same screen for about 20 seconds, and then it goes to the main menu. It never shows up on iTunes, and as soon as the screen changes to the main menu it disappears from My Computer. Again, when I plug in the 20 gb iPod it works just like it's supposed to and updates normally.

  • Debug doesn't work but run project does.

I am developing a project in netBeans that I have been able to run the regular way and also in debug mode.
Suddenly this morning the debug mode will not deploy, even though I can get it to work by doing a "run project." Here is the error message I get in my debug output console:
Duplicated project name in import. Project Highsmith-impl defined first in C:\Documents and Settings\pamadon.HIGHSMITHNET\SunProjects\Highsmith\nbproject\ant-deploy.xml and again in C:\Documents and Settings\pamadon.HIGHSMITHNET\SunProjects\Highsmith\nbproject\build-impl.xml

    Non-existing path "C:\Documents and Settings\pamadon.HIGHSMITHNET\SunProjects\Highsmith\${run.classpath}" provided.

Any ideas how to fix? If the project exists in both xml files, which one should it be in?

There are some known issues filed in issuzeilla, that seem related:
    1. http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=93741
...There are a few reports about this in the GF issue tracker.
...The most detailed one is https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=539
The "fix" appears to be using 9.1.
If your app uses struts, you may be able to update the struts jars to address.this issue....
    2. http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=92409Can you try undeploying the project (and also removing related files for this app in the 'generated' directory in the appserver install, for good measure) and redeploying the application?
Also: JSE 8.1 is based on NetBeans 5.0. You may want to upgrade to NetBeans 5.5.1 (www.netbeans.org).

  • My wireless key board does not work but wireless mouse does?

I can not get my wireless keyboard to work again after i changed the batteries, It work sonewhat before I chaged the batteries but don't work at all now. I tried removing the thing pluged into the usb port and i pushed the connect button on the bittom of keyboard but nothing works. The wireless mouse works fine. What could be wrong?

Not sure which KB you have, but I'd check a few things.
    1) You might have a dead battery or two - perhaps try batteries known to be working in another device, such as a TV remote control.
    2) The KB shouldn't need to be re-synced just via a battery change.   However, if you do resync - you might need to hold the sync button longer.   On my TouchSmart IQ804, I usually push mine about 10 seconds or so.   I can pull the USB tranceiver out of the back of the unit and put it in the side/front port, that way I can watch the LED that indicates sync/transfer better.
I know that there are some good wireless KB troubleshooting documents on the HP website - here is a link to one of them.

  • HP Pavilion dv6000 touch pad won't work on flat surfaces???

OK well here's is what happened. The laptop worked fine the night before, no problems with the touch pad what so ever. When I started up the next day, I noticed the touch pad was not working. When I put in the usb mouse that didn't work either, it kept saying the usb device had malfunction. So obviously my 1st thought was it was a driver issue. So ( navigating with nothing but the keyboard) I un installed the old driver then re installed it, re started and it worked. Now normally I have the computer up on a TV tray but I happen to have it on my lap. When I put the laptop on the TV tray....the touchpad didnt work again!  Now remembering what I had done when I noticed the touch pad wasnt working in the 1st place; it was on the tray, then after I "fixed" it, it was on my lap. This is a very odd issue that doesn't make any sense. I've placed it on the tv tray; doesn't work; an ottoman; doesn't work, a regular table; doesn't work; even on the floor, nothing. But the moment I place it on my lap, it works perfectly!  I've tried looking up this issue via google to see what comes up but, I got nothing. Is there anyone that can explan what this could be? I understand this is a laptop but this is kinda rediculous lol.

well , exactly this thing happend to me..as soon i place the laptop on my lap..mouse pad starts working..i got fixed when i formated my hard drive and reinstalled the os.

  • Equium A200-1VO - Replacement DVD Drive

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me find a replacement CD/DVD Drive for a Toshiba Equium A200-1VO. Would i need to get the exact same model DVD Drive or is there another suitable drive available that will work?
I know how to fit the drive so installation isn't needed
    Many Thanks
    Nick

    Hi!
I have also replaced my DVD drive on an older Toshiba notebook and I can say you should only install a DVD drive that is listed in the user manual.
So you can make sure that the new drive will work because the drive has the same pin assignment.
If you dont have the user manual you can download it on the Toshiba website. ;)
    Bye

  • My palm m105's touch screen doesn't work properly after a sync.

I dug out my old m105, put new batteries in and start it. On first launch it auto runs the alignment tool, and after touching all the points it goes to the main screen and works fine. No problem till here.
Now, I plug it into my old computer which still has the palm software with my apps, and I run the sync operation (from the palm device sync manager, cause I lost my cradle and I'm connected via the serial cable), and it syncs fine BUT, here comes the problem, when it finishes the sync (successfully) the touch screen is all misaligned. I can't go back to the home screen or do anything useful.

Let's help solve this mystery together! Is your screen freezing after every reboot? Is there any physical/liquid damage on the device? When did this issue begin? Did you notice this after a recent update or application download?

  • I cant open apps on my iPhone 4 the touch screen doesn't work.  I have restored my phone and still nothing works.

I can't open apps on my iPhone.  The touch screen doesn't work.  I have restored it already but it still won't work.  What can I do.

If the touch screen is not having any response then you probably have a hardware failure. Take your phone to an Apple Store or authorised service provider to have it checked.
