Equium A60-157 Wireless Network Card/PCMCIA HELP!

Hi, all!
This problem has been frustrating me for at least 2 months.
Ok, I recently purchased a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Card (wifi card).
The first time I installed the wifi card it was working perfectly. I powered
off the laptop (after I had finished working on it). The following day
when I powered on the laptop, you guessed it, the wifi card was not
working. I did not remove the wifi card during the power off/on phase.
When I went into the device manager, a yellow exclamation mark was
above the wifi card. When I examined the wifi cards properties, I found the
following message:
This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.
I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the wifi card. I have tried using the latest Belkin drivers for the wifi card. Sometimes it works, but when I power off/on the laptop its a no go.
One way I have gotten the card to work was by removing and inserting the card several times
until it found resources and finally worked. I dont use this method anymore as, quite obviously, I risk causing damage to the cardbus slot and the card. In the meantime Ive been using a Belkin Wireless G USB network adaptor. I have not had any problems with the USB adaptor, but I would prefer to use the wifi card. This is because the majority of the wifi card is housed inside the laptop, so its not easily dislodged. The USB adaptor is fine for wireless networking indoors, but too much of a risk for roaming outdoors.
I have had this problem from bios revision 1.70 to 1.8C, and I still have it with revision 1.90. Im planning to take the wifi card back to the shop for an exchange, but I have a very bad feeling that the same thing is going to happen with the replacement card. Im not convinced that the current wifi card is defective, because it works perfectly when it gets resources.
I have tried to manually configure the resources on the devices, but I run into one major problem. Windows seems to be LOCKED into automatic settings. The automatic settings checkbox is completely greyed out, making it impossible for me to clear the check box. I have not seen anything in the bios that can help me resolve this problem.
I have noticed that there are a lot of devices running off IRQ (Interrupt Request) 19, when viewing the resources by type in the device manager. These devices are:
Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller
Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller x 2 (two entries)
Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Texas Instrumetns PCI-1410 CardBus Controller
When the wifi card is working it also runs off IRQ 19, but as I stated before Windows is locked into automatic settings and will not let me configure the hardware resources manually.
The Equium A60-157 does not come with onboard, but it has the potential to. Wifi l.e.d. on front panel, location for physical wifi switch on side panel and wifi icon on F8. Does anyone know if Toshiba offer an upgrade service, or can I install onboard wifi myself?
ANYONE, PLEASE HELP ME WITH THESE ISSUES!!!
Thanks for you time!

Hi
I found this for you:
Two devices have been assigned the same input/output (I/O) ports, the same interrupt, or the same Direct Memory Access channel (either by the BIOS, the operating system, or a combination of the two). This error message can also appear if the BIOS did not allocate enough resources to the device (for example, if a universal serial bus (USB) controller does not get an interrupt from the BIOS because of a corrupt Multiprocessor System (MPS) table).
You can use Device Manager to determine where the conflict is and disable the conflicting device. On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooting wizard.
Try to disable the conflict devices. It will be interesting to know if the problem will occur again.
In my opinion you should contact Service partner and ask them if the unit is prepared for Wi-Fi module. Sorry but I am not sure about that and I dont want to give you a wrong information about that.

  • Compaq C762nr wireless network card upgrade

I would like to replace the Atheros AR5007 wireless network card in my laptop with a compatible wireless-n card.  Which cards are compatible?  Thanks

The Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN mini PCIE module is compatible. The driver is available at the web support portal for your notebook.
Upon further research it appears that a different antenna setup is required for the Intel wifi Link 3945AGN module. It would require disassembling the display assembly and installing a different antenna setup.
The C700 series notebook is, unless modified only compatible with 802.11 A/B/G wireless adapters.
A simpler method to upgrade would be to use a USB wireless adapter with 802.11N capability. the C700 series notebook does not have ExpressCard nor PCMIA slots available to use for an alternative upgrade method.

  • Wireless Network Card

When i bought my K8N NEO2 Plat. it came with the wireless network card bundled with it, ever since i have started using it i have had nothing but problems with it, it keeps dropping the connection every 10 mins or so and also does it when using or exiting a program which makes online gaming almost impossible, does anyone know what could be wrong.
BTW i am connecting to a another computer, i also have a laptop that uses another wireless access point and that never drops the connection

    I have the same problem.
What I have realized is that moveing the antenna just a little bit helps a lot on the signal strength. I had my antenna on of my cabinet with LOW to VERY LOW signal. Moved the antenna to the floor, got GOOD to VERY GOOD signal.
However I have to say that the Wireless card that is included with the NEO 2 is a 2nd hand solution. I have tried with other PCI based Wireless cards. No problem with either the driver or the singal strength. So the conclusion must be that if you can afford it, buy a new Wireless card.
Infact both the onbaord audio and the Wireless solution on the NEO 2 is really of rahter poor quality. In my opinion MSI should never have included em in the package.

Which OS is installed in your desktop PC?
What are the capabilities of your wireless router? 802.11 A\B\G\N\AC ?  2.4GHz \ 5 GHz or both simultaneously?
My own preference is the current 802.11AC standard.
I use Windows 8.1 \ Windows 7 \ Linux  on this desktop PC. I have a Sitecom 802.11AC router and an ASUS USB-AC56 wireless adapter. The throughput  for video streaaming  I am getting from the setup is around 533 mb/second. There isn't much currently available on the makrket in terms of reliable PCI express x1 wireless cards for Windows 8 or 8.1.

  • Disable the wireless network card upon connection.

Has anyone done the following, if so can you provide some insite on how to do it and how well it works....If wireless networking is not being used in the organization, it is possible for CSA to disable
the wireless network card when it is connected to the corporate network. I'm assuming by using the system
state variable with the rule, you can allow laptop users the ability to use wireless when they are
not connected to the corporate network.

I dont' see a system state "ethernet active" do I create this? I'm on CSA version 5.1.0.103. I have a system state called network which has the description of All users who are logged on via a network connection. Is that the same thing you mean? Then how do I create the rule? I get to where I have a NAC rule but I'm not for sure what to choose after that.

  • Alternative to Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN wireless network card?

I'm finding that my Intel 5100 AGN wireless network card is not performing as well as it used to.  I've tried everything... even drivers are fully up to date.  But I keep losing connection to my wireless router, even though connection strength is between 3-4 bars.  I find that I rarely get dropped if I have 5 bars.  But if it weakens to 3, I get periodically dropped no matter what wireless network I am using.
I want to replace this card with something better, but of course compatible with the HP dv5 (my specific model is dv5t-1000).  Any recommendations?

    Hi, Gary:
What I meant by my statement regarding you having the better of the available cards for your notebook is that, yes, I am sure the Intel 5300 is an improvement over the 5100, but the problem is you can't install the 5300 in your notebook.
The Intel 5300 is not supported (only the cards/part numbers listed in the service manual can be installed) and your notebook wouldn't boot until you removed the card.
You can try a different card listed in the manual if you want.
However, you are limited to the:
    Broadcom 4322 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN module
Broadcom BCM4312 802.11b/g WLAN module (not a wireless N card)
I suppose you can use an external USB adapter but I would get one with an external antenna connected to it, because I would have to believe the 3 antenna wire setup in your notebook has to provide superior reception over a plain USB wireless adapter with an internal antenna as its only antenna.
The antennas go all the way up to the top of your screen.
Did you fiddle around with your network card's advanced settings?  They can be found by clicking on the card in the device manager, clicking on the advanced tab.  make a note of where the settings are now so if something goes buggy, you can change them back.
Here is a guide to the advanced settings you have and the recommended settings for them.

  • DV6 wireless network card upgrade ?

I just bought a DV6 LM199UA#ABC and i was wondering if the wireless network card could be upgraded and if so, could I puchase it from HP?

Which card do you have? HP laptops will ony work with very specific wireless cards. There is a "whitelist" in the BIOS which means you must use a card that was offered on the laptop when new or the laptop will refuse to boot. So to see what you can use we need your specific model and the type of card in the laptop already to see if there is anything better available.

I've order a PCMCIA wireless card from apple store for my G4 titanium.
When I plug it in, the card seems to be reconized by the system (I can see it on the right side of my menu bar) but it does not appears in the network configuartion list (only modem or built-in ethernet are in this menu).
What should I do to have it working?
Do I need to install any specific driver?
Do I need to install any Airport software?

  • PCI Card Slot - Wireless LAN Card Problems - Help!

    Help.
I'm having problems getting my board to recognize both:
Linksys WMP11 Wireless LAN card; and
    Netgear WG311T Wireless LAN card
(returned the Linksys card, but the Netgear card had the same problem).
Neither card is being picked up by Windows (XP Home), although both the "power" and "link" LED lights up when inserted.  I've tried every PCI slot, same issue.  Nothing shows up in the device manager, and no new hardware is detected.  The Netgear software tells me that the card has not been installed.
Am left thinking I need to RMA the board.  Any suggestions woudl be much appreciated.

My roommate has a similar setup as you and I am having the same problem getting a pci wifi card to work in the machine.  I have tried both a Linksys WMP54G and a Netgear WG311. Both cards will scan for networks bit will never connect my router (Linksys WRT54G). Just to get them to recognise the network, I have to turn off WEP, and turn on ESSID broadcast.  Both of these cards work prefect in other computers. I know it not a signal problem because I can take my laptop and set it in the same location and it gets excellent signal.
I have tried changing slots in the machine, the wifi cards were the only PCI cards in the machine and an GeForce 6800 GT in the AGP slot. I have no idea what the problem could be. But I'm leaning towards the mobo at this point.

  • Cannot connect to wireless network? please help!!

I am at my wits end! I don't know what else to do... My airport express just keeps flashing amber.. I have the USB connected from the printer to the airport express - the airport express is plugged into the wall and when i run the assistant i get an error that says it can't restart to connect to my wireless network although the settings were changed successfully.
HOW do i connect to my wireless network (password protected and I have entered the WEP password etc.) I don't know what any other options are since it tells me its installed correctly but it just doesn't connect to the network???
any help would be greatly appreciated...
    thanks in advanced...

A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:
o The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
o You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
o One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.
    (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305101)
If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation.
Use the following instructions to compare against your current setup:
AirPort Express Base Station Setup (AX) w/High-Speed Cable Modem
Perform a "factory default" reset of the AX
    o (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108044)
    Modem/Router Power ReCycling
o Power-off the Cable modem, AX, & computer(s); Wait at least 30 minutes.
o Power-on the Cable modem; Wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-on the AX; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
    Setup the AX
Either connect to the AX's wireless network, or temporarily, connect directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, using the AirPort Utility (in Manual Setup), configure the following settings:
    AirPort - Base Station
o Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
o Base Station Password: <enter the desired base station administrator password>
o Verify Password: <re-enter the base station administrator password>
o Remember this password in my keychain: (optional)
    o Set time automatically: (optional)
o Allow configuration over Ethernet WAN port: checked
AirPort - Base Station - Base Station Options
    o Contact: (optional)
    o Location: (optional)
o Status Light: Always On (Default)
    AirPort - Wireless
o Wireless Mode: Create a wireless network
o Network Name: <enter name or leave default>
    o Radio Mode: 802.11b/g compatible
    o Channel: Automatic
    o Wireless Security: None
AirPort - Wireless - Wireless Options
    o Multicast Rate: 2 Mbps
    o Transmit Power: 100%

    Internet - Internet Connection
    o Connect Using: Ethernet
    o Configure IPv4: Using DHCP
    o DNS Server(s): (optional)
    o Domain Name: (optional)
    o DHCP Client ID: (optional)
o Ethernet WAN Port: Automatic (Default)
o Connection Sharing: Share a public IP address
    Internet - DHCP
    o DHCP Range: 10.0.1.x
    o DHCP Beginning Address: 10.0.1.2
    o DHCP Ending Address: 10.0.1.200
    o DHCP Lease: 4 hours
    o DHCP Message: (optional)
    o LDAP Server: (optional)
    Internet - NAT
    o Enable default at: unchecked
o Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol: checked
Once you verified that you can get Internet access for all of your computers, you should secure your wireless network. To do so, I suggest that you make these changes:
    AirPort > Wireless
    o Wireless Security: WPA/WPA2 Personal
o Wireless Password: <enter your desired wireless network security password>
    o Verify Password: <re-enter the wireless password>
o Click on "Update" to save the settings to the AX.

  • Can I join this new older mac in my home wireless network?  Please help!

I bought an iMac333 computer for my daughter. On the Apple systme profiler page, it says my system is 9.2.1 US, and the machine ID is 406 Processor info is PowerPC G3. Anyway, I am so impressed with this little machine already. I have only ever worked with my pc, and I run windows xp. I am trying to find out if I can hook up her computer to use the internet wirelessly. I have verizon dsl, and we use MSN on our home computer. We have a Belkin Wireless G Router, and a Belkin Wireless G USB network adapter. Will we need all new hardware to hook her up? When I put in the install disk for the Belkin adapter, the iMac can't open it. I was up all night trying to figure it out, but I can't. Thanks if you can help me

congratulations on getting your iMac. Its a great little machine. You can get it onto a wireless network, but you're going to need a different piece of equipment. USB adaptors are problematic because they require drivers, and they just weren't made for OS 9 (there are few drivers for OS X for these types of devices, and they can be flaky). The drivers that would have come with that device would be windows only.
So instead, what I recommend is an ethernet based adaptor. Ethernet adpators don't require drivers, and oeprate completely independently of the OS, so they are a far superior choice, though a bit more expensive. I use a linksys wet11 and it works great. linksys also make the WET54 for G networks (the wett11 will also work on a G network, no problem). belking, dlink and others make similar devices, as does macsense.com (whose is interesting because it uses USb for power, whereas the others use a separte power outlet)

  • IChat offline because opens before the wireless network is available -Help?

I have two iMacs they are experiencing the same problem.
I am running them on an 802.11g Linksys wireless WEP network.
I have iChat configured to automatically start and login at boot (I have disabled all of the auto offline settings). I have also tried using Chax and enable the auto reconnect, but that has not solved my problem.
When they boot up the immediately try to open iChat. iChat opens, but immediately goes offline. I am able to manually set it to available and all works fine then. But the annoying part is that it will not automatically login and be available when i boot either iMac.
I think this is because iChat is opening before the iMac is able to establish a connection to my wireless network.
I suspect this because I have a similar issue when running MSN messenger. When MSN messenger auto opens at boot it gives me an immediate error telling me that is is unable to login because the network is not available. Of course, within a few seconds I am able to click on it to manually login and all works fine.
Is there anyway to either (a) delay the opening of iChat a few seconds so that the wireless can be connected? or (b) a way to auto run iChat after it boots using some optional method?
Thanks for any insight you can provide!

Open the Script Editor in the
/Applications/AppleScript/ folder and paste in the
    following:
    delay 5
    tell application "iChat"
    run
    end tell
Save this script as an application and add it to the
list of login items; remove the existing iChat
application, and increase the delay if needed.
Reordering the list of login items probably won't
delay the ones at the bottom long enough to make a
difference in Mac OS X 10.4; as soon as the launch
command has been sent to one application, it is sent
to the next without waiting for that application to
    respond.
    (19582)
You are correct. Changing the order didnt delay enough to help. I will try the above next.
    Thanks

  • Sleep and Wireless network card

After waking from sleep the MacBook Pro is unable to connect to the internet. Network card is unable to get a signal and results in 169 address. Its ironic that to remidy this requires a reboot. So basicly sleep is not an option.
The router is a linksys wireless N. OS is Leopard. Other wireless devices do not suffer this problem.
Does anyone else experience this or is it something to do with the network card?
