I have a problem with my laptop when I use a USB hard dive or run a CD/DVD my display driver crashes
The display driver is the latest version (ati mobility radeon 7000 igp - 6.14.10.6430
    any ideas

I had the same problem with my Equium A60-155.Over a period of months the situation got worse and the display driver was crashing every few hours. I tried updates and unistalling and reinstalling the driver without effect. After reading this form I downloaded a BIOS update (1.9b) and one week on the driver has not failed.

  • What DVD drives are compatible with Equium A60 PSA67E?

my question; what dvd drives are compatible for an equium a60 (psa67e-001001en)?
background; i did a very silly thing! whilst i was in japan and about 18 months after purchasing my a60 in the uk, the dvd drive packed up. i replaced it with a teac dvd drive and it worked like a dream! i threw the old drive away (i think it was a matsu****a, but can't remember the exact model). anyway, i came home and had a bit of spare time on my hands so i decided to tweak my machine and corrupted the windows xp registry.
Now the windows xp runs in a loop, i can't get access to it and i need to wipe the hard drive and start again basically. i put the recovery disk in, but the computer doesn't read from it and frustratingly finds its way to the loopy windows. i have determined that it is not recognising the teac drive that i used to replace the old one. i think if i put an original type back in, the firmware may recognise the drive and i'll be back in business.... or so i hope!
of course, any other advice would be gratefully received too! thanks.
work around??? ps... a work around i thought up... copy the contents of the recovery disk on to a hard drive (using my old computer) then swap the current hdd in my a60 with it... theory; when the computer finds the contents during booting, it will install xp on another part of that hard drive and i'll have a working machine again. could something like that work???????? any thoughts????

    thanks again friend!
as it turns out, that pioneer drive rung bells.
though my TEAC (DV-w28e) replacement looks identical to my previous drive and has worked ok with windows, at "the bios level" it is not being recognised... is that something you would have expected???? i must admit, with windows, the TEAC outperformed the original drive and was surprised it wasn't reading my recovery disk after my self infliction! i also tried using a usb hdd loaded up with the recovery disk and that didn't work.
but you answered my question so thanks a million for that.

  • Equium M70: display driver issue

    Hi ya
I have got Equium m70 series.
I downloaded the intel graphic drivers from toshiba site but it stop working and displaying this error after half an hour.
Error: "The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality.
The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft."
Then i download the drivers from intel site which is the latest one but the problem gets worst windows crashed after 10 mins on that drivers and blue screen comes and system restarted and then no display at all on my laptop.
Then i remove battery and try to on pc after 10 mins then the display come then i go to safe mode and uninstall the drivers.
Now the window working without drivers.
    please help me with this.

Maybe you have used a wrong driver ?:| Why you dont use the graphic driver from the Toshiba European page!?
Please note that other graphic drivers (not from Toshiba page) can be used and installed only at your own risk and there is no warranty that such drivers will work correctly!!!
It looks like you have messed the whole OS. Maybe the installation of the graphic driver from the Toshiba page will help you. If not -> try to install the whole OS again from the Toshiba recovery CD!
The drivers on this CD are tested and should run properly!

  • Satellite Pro A60: ATI display driver keeps breaking down

I have had my Sat pro A60 Laptop for about a year now.
I have had a few problems with it since I got it but the main problem has just occured within the last 6-7 months.
The ATI display driver keeps on breaking down and in order for it to work I have to restart the system. This has been an ongoing problem for quite some time and it's now getting rather irriating. It does it at the most inconvenient times like when I am watching a DVD or listening to a CD.
Sometimes when I put the computer on standby, the display doesn't even start up again and the screen remains blank. In order to sort this out I have to switch off the laptop and then restart it. The main problem I have put this down to is overheating as it can get quite hot when I use it.
I sort of know how to sort this problem out, just by clearing dust from the fans. But if there is any other solution to this please help.
    Thanks!

    Hi
Mostly the overheating happens because of the dirt and dust inside of the cooling modules. The fans cannot work properly and cannot spin with full performance.
I think you should check the fans. I think the easiest way to clean the fans is to use the vacuum cleaner hose against the fan grilles.
About the display issue: In your case I would recommend firstly to update the display driver. Additional if the OS runs since a long time on the notebook so maybe a new OS installation form the Toshiba recovery CD would help.

I've updated the drivers directly from Nvidia, as I have the Geforce GT 330M, this has stopped the error message from appearing, but the screen still goes blank. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this?
Also, a seperate little question, sometimes my laptop will automatically resume from hibernation (I don't use sleep mode) when I open the lid, without pressing the power button. However, most of the time this will not happen, and I have to press the power button instead. Why will the computer do this sometimes, but not others? Can anyone tell me how to get the laptop to turn on by just opening the lid, 100% of the time?
    Thank you for your advice.

    Hi
    Regarding the black screen issue;
You used the driver from nVidia this is not advisable due to the missing overheating protection. You should use the driver from the Toshiba page.
Please check also if the BIOS is up to date.
If newer BIOS is available, please update this I read in some threads that this could help to solve such issues
    Regarding the automatically resume from hibernation;
You should check in BIOS if the Wake up on LAN and Wake up on keyboard options are disabled. If both or only one is enabled, then disabled this, save the changes in BIOS and reboot the unit
    Good luck

  • Miix 10 "Display Driver stopped responding error" (Windows 8.1)

I just got my Miix 10, just updated to Windows 8.1 and when I press the power button to wake the tablet I keep getting this error:
"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"
And it takes like 4 to 6 second just to wake the tablet from sleep. It never happened when it was still in windows 8.
Current driver from Lenovo: Intel GMA on version 9.14.3.1168
I have check from intel they have release to their oem with version 9.14.3.1177 to resolve this issue but have to be updated and release by lenovo in order to install on the Miix 10 tablet.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I too had the same issue with my lovely new Lenovo (nice bit of kit am impressed, bar this one driver issue) (after 8 upgrade to  8.1)
as a workaround for now (until lenovo update their pack, do the following)
so I ended up downloading the normal driver,
    http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/pf132w8132.exe
this has the older driver in it,
now download the ASUS updated version here,
    http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/asus/59719-new-tf810c-drivers-v7-00-a-print.html
extract the lenovo pack but don't tick the install button,
    extract the ASUS pack,
go into the folder find the Graphics folder and copy and overwrite the same folder in the Lenovo pack,
REPLACE the content as you need the old INF, files too for the lenovo, (ie don't just delete the lenovo folder, and replace)
    then run the installer,
it will complain the driver isn't signed anymore, that's OK,
    then reboot,
now smartscreen will complain the exe's are not signed, continue on these too, only happens the first time you lunch them,
now go to systray and open the Graphics properties for Intel, now it will say 1177.
NOTE Device manger will not report correctly, but the sleep function will now work...
This is just a temp until lenovo sort it tho really...
Hope it helps, lots of Intel clover trail people...

  • Display Driver Issues on Satellite L655-S5150 with Win10

I upgraded my Toshiba satellite (L655-S5150) to Windows 10 last week.  Upgrade appeared successfully initially however shortly after the Win10 interface loads the computer will shut itself off.  After exploring a number of possibilities it turns out the computer runs fine in safe mode or in low resolution mode selected from the mainteanance menu.  So I feel quite certain like other issues I have seen with Win10 that have similarities to this one the issue is with the display driver.  I tries updating the driver through device manager but it said I had the latest.  Tried the Toshiba support pages and seem to be nothing new there for the "Intel HD Graphics" display driver.  So seems at the moment I am stuck at low res mode if I want to have a functioning computer.  Any ideas if there might be an updated driver out there, or can I change to something a little more generic that at least might allow me to boot in to normal mode and stay running?

Yes, have tried "update drivers" option and Windows Update option.  No luck yet.  Also searched manually for an updated driver on the Toshiba site and Intel site (Intel HD Graphics display adapter).  I wish I could just load a generic display driver but every time I remove the Intel display driver and reboot it comes back after boot.  Really a fix to the problem would be nice by anyone..... Microsoft, Toshiba, Intel, anyone......

  • Display Driver issues with HP Pavilion m6

    Hi,
I have an HP Pavilion m6-1035dx with an AMD A10 4600 apu with integrated Radeon 7660g graphics. I have had an ongoing problem where at any point when watching a video (youtube, twitch, even a DVD), the screen will freeze and go black for several seconds. It then recovers and I get a message saying the Display Driver has successfully recovered from timeout. Upon attempting to resume any video or start a new one I get a blue screen saying the AMD Display Driver did not recover successfully. I have tried multiple times to uninstall and reinstall the drivers to no avail. I have installed AMD's latest drivers (14.12) that were released today (12/9/14) and the problem persists. This has been very frustrating and I've been considering a new laptop because. I appreciate any help I could get.

    Hi @Reilly1013 ,
Welcome to the HP forum, I will do my best to assist you!
I see you have applied the updated driver from the manufacturer's site.  HP recommends that you use the drivers provided by HP.  OEM's can and sometimes do alter a driver to work with a specific system.  If you install a driver from the manufacturer they have not been tested on your system and may or may not perform correctly.

With that being said after doing some research I have located this driver for you to try. sp59678.exe

  • Satellite A60: ATI graphics driver issue - blue screen error

    Hello,
I have a Sattelite A60, and I have had it for a year, and now suddenly, I have frequent crashes. The Blue Screen of Death tells me that it is caused by a driver not working properly, namely an ATI driver.

I deinstalled the display drivers and for a short while it seemed to work. However, the blue screen of death did not reappear, but now my laptop suddenly switches itself off: immediate powerdown. Also, I have had the driver failing to work properly: this resulted in the screen resolution suddenly resetting itself to safe mode. De blue screen I got before mentioned that the fault lay in ati2dvag.dll - the windows error analysis screen that appeared after my reboot told me that the problem with this dll again caused the problem. This was before and after the reinstall of the Toshiba drivers.
Going to try and reinstall them again now. See if it works this time.

This message is appearing in the device manager under CD/DVD ROM Drives for my laptop and is not running any cd's/dvd's.

    Hey guys,
Thanks for the help and advice but after deleting the mentioned registry keys the problem still seems to be there, no cd/dvd is available and in the device manager the CD/DVDW SD-L622A ATA Device is still showing the same error

  • Nvidia Ion Display Driver issues for S12

    I downloaded the Nvidia drivers
    195.62_notebook_winvista_win7_32bit_international_whql
    and
    195.81_notebook_winvista_win7_32bit_international_beta
I tried installing the 195.81 first, but it didnt work so i tried 195.62 but it also didnt work.
    The error message says this:
"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware.  Setup will now exit".
I have a Lenovo Ideapad S12 with Ion.  What is the problem?  I was able to install Nvidia's 191 version of the driver, but these updated ones don't work.
    Help me...
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you do a search, you'll find several threads on these forums regarding this issue.
For some reason, as you've found, the current nVidia reference GPU drivers don't work.
Now, thankyou for testing the 195.81 beta drivers - nVidia support actually suggested these as a fix to the issue!
They also suggested trying to install the drivers (either set) from within Safe Mode. You may wish to try that.
However, as has already been stated, the S12 works ok with the shipped drivers.
I recommend installing the nVidia reference chipset driver (I found a marked improvement in performance with them installed) - BUT, only install the SMU component - I found the Storage component causes issues (upto and including a Blue Screen when running a HDD benchmark).
Also, apparently, the desktop GPU drivers from nVidia will work fine.

  • Display driver issue for T400

I just reinstalled my system to vista, after that my HD 3470 graphic adapter can not work, I have downloaded the drivers of it from ATI's official website and installed them but it still did not work. Anyone knows how to solve the problem?

Start the PC in safe mode. Press the power button and then start tapping the F8 key. Type system restore in the search programs and files box.  Use windows system restore to select a restore point dated before your driver install attempt. that will roll back the driver installation to the previous one and should resolve the issue.
New PCs come with working video drivers already installed. Why would you install another driver? It is never a good idea to update drivers just because you can. Only update if an update is necessary.

    Akuma,
Thank you so much for your suggestion. I followed that process. But it is still the same. It works normally with dicks allready having files on them but sees new ones as "full" and when I try and copy a file it says "windows has encountered a problem copying this file, what do you want windows to do?
Unfortunately "solve it!" isn't an option.
I get "cancel" or "try again". the window with files flying about then just goes on forever until I fall asleep. It there a plan B?
Thank you for your effort. THat looked good while I was doing it but no change. A friend suggested replacing the cd/dvd drive. Do you think it could be a hardwear problem like that when it wworks on part filled discs??
