Equium L10-273 - installing internal wireless card

Hi all
I have been attempting to install an internal wireless network card on the above laptop, which we have acquired 2nd hand.
There is a slot to take the card, which has gone in, but I can't seem to locate cables to attach to it.
Any technical bright sparks around who can possibly help me with this? Or perhaps explain why I can't find the cables - surely there wouldn't be a slot to take a card if there weren't cables to connect it?
Grateful for any help!
Many thanks

yes, there are some versions of l10 which dont have wireless cables attached to them.
I have noticed that all new lcd back covers (black cover with toshiba logo) do have cables attached to them.
If you want to take the laptop apart yourself then it is possible to get wireless on this if you can obtain a back cover with wireless cables on it.

  • Does Equium L10-273 have wireless?

I have a Equium L10-273. It has a wireless Button on the front of it, a wireless indication light AND a sticker on the bottom saying Wireless LAN:without W/L
i suppose my question is this:
Does the Equium L10-273 have a built in wireless device? If so, How do i get it to work?

I am pretty sure it must have WLAN on board. Please check entry in device manager or sticker at the bottom side. To get it work enable WLAN antenna using WLAN switch. When the WLAN LED is on use FN+F8 key combination and be sure the WLAN is enabled.
Use Microsoft option to search all available WLANs in your area. If the favorite WLAN will be listed connect to it or configure the WLAN connection if necessary (WLAN password).

  • Want to install a wireless card in a MDD

    hi
i would like to install a wireless card into my powermac G4 MDD.
i bought a an external usb wireless but i could not find a driver for it and had to return it.
what kind of wireless card can i install that will be found by the system or where drivers are easy to get for macs?
also, where does it install, in an available pci(???) slot or somewhere more internal?
the mac is running 10.5.8, i think, im settiung it up for my kids to use
    thanks

Hi! Probably depends on whether you are running an "n" network. The old airport card is slow and using a newer pci card that has "n" capability if your router is an "n" router is a lot faster. OWC is a good place to buy Mac stuff and their prices are good also. Though I haven't used one I'd probably try THIS card for its "n" capabilities. I'd probably get a new airport extreme base station but they are about 179 bucks from Apple. Tom

  • How do I connect my laptop to my Linksys wireless router through the internal wireless card?

I just purchased a gateway laptop and was trying to hook my Linksys wireless router up to it. Ive gotten it hooked up but only through the secondary device (that catches the signal)... I was wondering if there is anyway that I could make my internal wireless internet card a point or no? Can I only connect it to the USB network adapter or is there really a way to go COMPLETELY wireless? Thank you for your time...

Is your internal wireless card enabled? Go to device manager and make sure it is enabled.

  • HT4628 I can not use the internal wireless card with my Mac pro 2012, I don't know if it is broken

I can not use the internal wireless card with my Mac pro 2012, I don't know if it is broken. The problem is happen recently, I have to use an independent wireless card now. Thanks!

When you enable Internet Sharing in OS X, you are creating a separate sub-net.
There is no option to allow this to be a simple pass-through from Ethernet to AirPort (or the other way).
The problem is easily solved by getting an inexpensive wireless router. You can replace your current router OR disable the DHCP server on the wireless router and allow the wireless clients to get an IP address from the current router.

  • Will an internal wireless card be an improvement

I have an IBM Thinkpad T41 type 2373 which I purchased in 2004. Surprisingly it did not come with an internal wireless card, so I purhcased a Linksys Wireless G external card whic works well. Is it possible to add an internal card to this PC? If so, would it perform as well as my current external card?

yes, but has to be sourced from an ibm machine, otherwise wont work.

  • Equium L10-273 and wireless card

I have got a Toshiba Wireless LAN Mini PCI Card - 802.11b/g (PA3363E-1MPC) and have placed it into the laptop, do i need to connect up the black and white wire (which are not free and connected to the main board) or is that routed to the card in the main board.

    Hi
Well, as far as I know the cables are loose if the unit is wireless compatible and if its possible to upgrade the notebook with wireless card. I found some informations about this unit and it says Wireless is not enabled on this unit.

In this case Im not 100% sure but I dont think that its possible to upgrade your notebook with the Wireless card.
But if you want you can contact the Toshiba service partner to get more detailed informations about this case.

  • Installing new wireless card x120e

I know about the silly whitelist'ing of devices, and I've read about hacking the bios, but is there a universally acceptable way to just turn off the whole whitelist'ing completely?
I have a full height Intell 5300 card I want to use, then put a new Broadcomm Crystal HD half height card in the original wireless card positition.
The Intel card doesn't work at all (whitelisted I assume) and I'm not sure if the Broadcomm card will suffer the same fate (arrives tomorrow).
So is there a supported work around to this terrible vendor locking whitelist?

From what I understand, no, there is no easy or sanctioned method of installing your choice of mini pci-e cards.  Part of it apparently has to do with EMI validation, and anything outside of what they've tested can't be validated.  What this means for your Broadcomm Crystal HD half height card I have no clue, but outside of looking for a tool to roll your own update to remove the whitelist (or just add your cards to it, I don't know), you'll have to risk a hacked update to get what you want.

    Hi,
I recently bought I PC60G Wireless card and am trying to install it on a windows XP 32 bit machine. I can't even get the operating system to recognize it's a wireless card, it seems to recognize it as a SCSI/RAID controller. I tried switching PCI sockets, but to no avail. I know the PCI sockets are working. If anyone out there can help, please do.

  • Can i install a wireless card in my Satellite P30-141 's wireless bay?

The P30-141 doesn't come with wireless functionality and i can't track any wireless antennae cables which should reside within the top casing of the machine, but i'd like to know if it's possible to undertake my own installation of a toshiba wireless card? Would anyone out there know of a specific wireless card model / part number which could be used to do this? I'm quiet happy to tinker around inside the machine as it's four years past the warranty i believe and i've already replaced the LCD once, so i'm pretty familiar with the guts of it, just can't find any documentation on getting this component into this particular machine.
Any advice would be a great help!

    Hi Simon,
Sure if you have the relevant PC slot inside, i'm checking a P30 - 131 (which i can't even find in the db here, think its foreign spec but a uk board) for one after telling my client it was easy. If you peek under the keyboard you can see a wire trench running from where the screen cable comes in to the main body. If its empty you need to fit the antenna cable, if present awesome just put in the relevant wireless card and clip on the antenna plugs. If the wires aren't present, simples.
They're quite cheap on everyones favourite auction site, you just need to get in under the screen bezel/surround and lay them down. They lay around the screen itself under the bezel. You'll find simple pictorials not necessarily for your specific laptop but they are mostly the same. Then bnring them through and lay them through the trench under the keyboard and clip into the wireless card. Well obviously you now have to set up the relevant drivers, curse a few times as it doesn't connect, wonder furiously at what is going wrong and then bing it'll suddenly connect although you've done nothing different over the past couple of days.......... The biggest issue you'll find is not to damage your bezel.
Anyway good luck, i'm gonna now try to work out if this model (see above) will do this.

  • Equium L10-273 - power charger replacement

    Hi,
after 2 1/2 years of relatively good service, my charger for my L10-273 died and went to heaven. I have had a couple of universal chargers since but the bit that connects the adaptor for various makes of laptops to the bit that powers up is made of 2 pins that constantly seem to break. Can anyone recommend a place where I can get a replacement charger for less than 30 and isn't held together by two thin bits of metal?
This is the one I got:

    Hi Nishal
To be honest I would not take an 3rd party AC adaptor.
Fact is that a not fully compatible AC adaptor could cause some serious notebook troubles.
So in your case it would be advisable to ask the local ASP for a new, compatible part.
I think the original Toshiba AC adaptor is not expensive too and you will be always on the safe side.

    Hi,
if you have the Agere MiniPCI WLAN card installed, the system needs to install the following registry key with the driver for the WLAN card:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Pcmcia\Parameters]
    "IrqRouteToPciController"=dword:00000006
    I've found an installation instruction:
    1. Clean install Windows XP Service Pack 2 package
or Clean install the Windows XP Gold package and install Service Pack 2 update image on it.
    2. Copy the TICardBusIrqRouting.reg to the system, then click the file on the system.
    3. The following window will appear,
"Are you sure you want to add the information in xxxxx\DISABL~1.REG to the registry"
    Then select "Yes".
xxxxx is the location of TICardBusIrqRouting.reg
    4. The following window will appear,
"Information in xxxxx\DISABL~1.REG has been successfully entered into the registry."
    Then click "OK".
xxxxx is the location of TICardBusIrqRouting.reg
    5. Reboot the system
    Good luck!
