Equium L20 - keyboard creates the wrong characters

Hi there.
my keyboard is not making the right buttons. everytime i press 'u' it comes up with 4. i = 5, o = 6, p = -, and so on and so forth. the onlyway i can remove this is by holding down the Fn button inbetween Ctrl and Alt. how can i take this keyboard lock off for good?

I agree with Sam and Jack. If you watch carefully the keyboard you will notice the keyboard has a small numeric block and all symbols are grey and placed at the bottom sloped keys side.
Like the guys already said you can enable or disable this numeric block using FN+F11 key combination.

Apple Bluetooth keyboard shows the wrong letters when pressed

My apple bluetooth keyboard shows the wrong letters when I write on it. If I press "c", the letter "d" shows on the screen instead. The bottom row of letters mimicks the row just above. I've tried unpairing and paring the keyboard again with my computer and my ipad. Same error. Tried resetting the pram and the smc and it still doesn't work. Changed the batteries in the keyboard and no change. I've removed some plist file (com.apple.BezelService) and its lock file like someone recommended in a youtube video. I've also checked the keyboard settings and can't find anything that seems weird.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix it or do I have to buy a new keyboard?

Before you buy a new one, take it to an Apple store (if one is near you) and have them look at it.

ID is displaying the wrong characters

Hi,
I am running ID CS2 on an xp machine (SP2 - to open ancient PM files) and have been setting in text recently for the 28 EU languages, I have the Baltic ones left to do, and have come up with a slight problem!
When opening the text in Word I can see all the characters correctly, (i's with lines over instead of dots) and other Baltic characters.
When pasting into InDesign they turn into other characters (the i mentioned above now has a hat on ^ instead.)
And ideas how this happens and how to correct it?
I open the same INDD file on the Remote (windows server 2003) to work on it at home and they are all correct.
I've reloaded the Myriad pro font and deleted Adobefnt.lst files but nothing has happened.
I've looked through all the settings and they are identical on the remote and my machine so I don't understand why my machine is a little strange.
I hope someone understands this and can help me as the remote is very slow!!

Please don't hijack a mostly unrelated thread. New topics should be started on their own.
That said, this sounds like you are running Windows XP SP3 or Vista, both of which break the ability of CS2 to open PM documents. Your only choice, if that is your situation and you need to open these, is to either find a system running SP2 or roll back, or to upgrade to a current version of InDesign.

Equium L20: Keyboard keys replacing

Had to remove 2 keys on the keyboard to clean away a small piece of wood that had slipped in. However for the life of me I can replace the keys correctly. I'm used two notebooks and could always clip them back no problem at all.
Can't get these back on for love nor money...any body offer any help (ideally diagramatical)?
PS: Keys and plastic backing are definately not broken / snapped / cracked or lost.

I don't know how to help you. Usually, to fix the key caps again on the keyboard you have to press down only the caps to the place where the keys were placed before.
A different procedure is not known to me.
Maybe something is broken (but you said it's not a case).
However if you cannot fix the keys yourself so I would recommend contacting a service guy with more experience for the help

Keyboard Photosmart 600 wrong characters

When i press the shift + @ keys the quote ( " ) character displays. Alternatively when I press the shift " key the (@) character displays. The rest of the keys appear to function normally. Any solutions?

That looks like keyboard layout is set to UK English....
Here are steps to set it to US-English...
Click Start , type intl.cpl in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
On the Keyboards and Language tab, click Change keyboards.
Click Add.
Expand the language that you want. For example, English (United States).
Expand Keyboard list, select the United States-International check box, and then click OK.
In the Default input language list, click Language name - United States-International (where Language name is the language that you selected in step 4), and then click OK two times.
In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click OK.

ReplaceAll() method removing the wrong characters!

hi all,
im new to java and im having a problem with the following replaceAll() method:
content = content.replaceAll("[^a-zA-Z0-9]", " ");What I want it to do is replace all punctuation with a whitespace, which works fine! However, the program deals with french texts and this regular expression removes words with accents on, such as ?, ?, ?,?, etc.
Does any one know how i can get rid of all punctuation, but keep accented words?

TorreWell, a-z is just those 26 letters, without any mention of accepted characters.
Try \p{Punct}, the POSIX character class for one of !"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~

What's wrong with the built-in keyboard on my macbook? The caps button does not work rite, no matter what letter button i push they all come out capitals and the number keys when pushed display the special characters instead of the numbers!

the caps button doesn't work at all, the letter buttons display capitals when pushed whether the caps button is on or off, the shift keys are also out of whack!!
It seems it somehow got relocated to the "0" button because if you push and hold the zero button down the keyboard seems to operate normally, the number keys display numbers when pushed the letter keys display lower case when pushed but release the zero button and your back in the twilight zone!! Can anybody help me resolve this issue? one more thing im using an external usb keyboard right now and it seems to function properly if that helps any.

You would do better in the actual macbook pro forums (this is not).

URL links wrongly created for adjucent characters

The URL links are wrongly created for the following characters after the URL like “)”, “]” etc.
For E.g. (www.adobe.com), the URL links for adobe is in active for closing parenthesis in PDF which should not have a URL link.
Any one suggests what would be problem and how to avoid this?
We are using Acrobat Pro 8.

Use the Link Tool in Acrobat and create the link.

SQL job running DTEXEC.EXE via PowerShell step produces wrong characters in result tables. Running the same DTEXEC.EXE in PowerShell x86 window produces correct results.

I've created a package in SSDT (Visual Studio 2012) to import DBF tables into MSSQL 2014 via a wizard.
Source DBF files contain tables with Russian (Cyrillic) characters in records fields.
Created package works fine, produces correct results (imports Cyrillic characters as needed) while:
•debugging in VS2012
•deploying package in SSISDB and running the package via PowerShell x86:
&"c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\120\DTS\Binn\DTExec.exe" /Server "server\mssql2014" /ISServer "\SSISDB\import\Integration Services Project16\Package1.dtsx";
But when I create a SQL Agent job with a single PowerShell step that contains the same command and run the job it produces wrong characters in resulting tables. So, the problem is in wrong code page (or encoding). The correct tables with records are
produced and job runs without errors.
I tried
chcp 1251; # 855, 866 -- all of them
&"c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\120\DTS\Binn\DTExec.exe" /Server "server\mssql2014" /ISServer "\SSISDB\import\Integration Services Project16\Package1.dtsx";
in SQL Agent PowerShell step, but with no positive result.
Anyone encountered such a behavior? How to fix it?

Keyboard printing wrong characters

My keyboard on my Macbook recently started typing strange characters, speciƒically ƒ,o which sometimes comes out with a slash thru it, the u is sometimes just a apostrophe, and the capitol ƒ is some other kind oƒ strange character Ï. Neither the Alt, Control, or Commant keys are stuck. The special characters is set to Roman, ƒont is Apple casual. This happens in all soƒtware programs. What is wrong????? It's driving me crazy. Google won't recognize any word I type which shows up with one oƒ these characters in it.

For those characters, your keyboard is typing as if the alt/option key was depressed, or the alt/option + shift keys. It sounds like a hardware problem to me.

I put in the wrong email when creating my apple id. I changed my id on my laptop but my ipad has my old (wrong) email addrss and a password that wont let me sign in

I just got my new I pad, entered all of my information.. after confirmingm y account I realized I had put in the wrong email address. i just opened my ipad, started my apple account/I.D. and realized I put the wrong e mail. I was having trouble correcting my I.D on the Ipad so I went to my laptop and make the proper changes/slash e mail address I wanted for my apple ID. I got back to my ipad and try to download an app I can't because I have to sign in my apple account and I can't because it still has the irrelivant I.D/email address..
So, i did what you said.. went to setting>app store> tapped on my e mail.. it asked me to sign in (with my invalid emails address showing). I signed in with the password I had created. It said "incorrect".. I went to reset password. I reset password, tried to sign in and it says again "unvalid password".. this is getting irritating. I have been asking and no one knows what to do.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
If necessary:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
or
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
