Equium L300 cannot read the Photos on CDs
Equium L300 = I have a number of Cds that contain photos (mainly from High Street photo printers Max Spielman and Klik) that will not run on this notebook. They used to run on my old PC
Can anyone help??
They are cherished photos of holidays etc and date back to possibly 2003.
Do I need to change some settings or can they somehow be updated on to new discs !?

Possibly the disks are not readable by CD/DVD drive due to a compatibility issue,
Not all disks from all manufacturers are compatible by all CD/DVD drives
This is a common issue in the computer world
I recommend copying the photo cd to another cd from another manufacturer.
Maybe you can use another computer for this procedure
I use TDK CD-R. I had no problems in the past

After upgrading to MAC OS X 10.10.2 Lightroom 5 cannot read the card (RAW files , converting to DNG) when importing. The card is fine as I can import into iPhoto - any ideas?
It’s usually necessary to trash the prefs after updating OSX to Yosemite. Start by quitting Lightroom 5.
Launch Finder and click the Go menu whilst holding down the Option (alt) key. Then go to:
Library >> Preferences
clear everything relating to LR5 which usually means deleting the following files:
com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist
com.adobe.Lightroom5LSSharedFileList.plist
Then re-launch Lightroom. -
ITunes cannot read the data on my iPod touch
Just three weeks or so ago, I was able to use iTunes without any problems to put a few songs on my iPod Touch 2nd Gen. Recently, however, whenever I try to connect my iPod to iTunes via USB, I get an error message that says something along the lines of: "iTunes cannot read the data on xxx's iPod Touch. Go to the Summary tab and choose Restore to restore this iPod to it's original factory settings.". I don't know why it says this since my iPod is functioning normally. My iPod shows up on the left hand side of the iTunes window as "iPod" instead of "xxx's iPod Touch" like it used to. The only options I have are Check for Update (disabled) and Restore. Is there any way to fix this without restoring my iPod? And if I have to restore, can I do so without losing (or having to re-transfer) any of my data that hasn't been or can't be backed up? Please help and thanks in advance!
P.S. My iPod is in its genuine state: it hasn't been jailbroken or anything like that.Unfortunately, I've already tried that. Also, here is a list of other things I've tried, but have taken no effect:
-Recharging, Restarting, Resetting, and Reconnecting my iPod Touch to my computer
-Restarting my computer
-Reinstalling iTunes
-Reinstalling all iTunes, Apple, and iPod USB drivers
-Updating the same drivers (but no updates were found)
-Using a different USB port
-Connecting to a different computer (doesn't work on my Toshiba laptop either, which is running the same OS and the same version of iTunes as my PC)
My backup plan was to copy the new songs to my iPod by pasting them through Windows Explorer. My iPod shows up as a portable device under My Computer - as always - but the only thing I can access is a folder full of the photos on my iPod. I think this is normal, but I can't do what I want to do! Do you (or anyone else) have any other good ideas? Remember, I really don't want to do a restore unless I absolutely have to. -

It will transfer photos from iphone to computer. But nothing else.

Having no sync was ok, since I was comfortable with the photos, applications and music in my iPhone.
But yesterday my iPhone went out of disk space, and my problem started. I then needed to sync. I tried to extract my paid applications from iPhone using "transfer purchases from my iPhone". Unsuccessful, since it did not copy every application. I've tried to download the applications again, but iTunes say I need to pay for them. And now, after some unsuccessful purchase transfers and backups, iTunes says "iTunes cannot read the contents of iPhone", so I think I'm forced to restore the original settings.
What should I do?
I don't want to pay again for the applications I already purchased.
I don't want to loose my application data.
I don't care about my music, photos and videos, cause I can get them elsewhere anyway.
Is there a way to save my iPhone, applications and data?

Hi i have purchased a lightning to sd card but i cannot get the photos to open can you help please.
How did the photos get onto the SD card that you are using ? Photos (and videos) on the card will only be recognised if the card has a DCIM directory off the root of it, and the photos are underneath that directory and their filenames are exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus their file extension (that should be how most digital cameras write photos to a card).

Problem: iPhone cannot synch with iTunes b/c of the error: "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone "iPhone". Go to the summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings". I have reset the iPhone all possible ways, rebooted, uninstalled/installed iTunes, have double clicked to change name, doesn't synch. I need to get my music and photos back on my device, but I cannot seems to do so. After clicking restore, it blows the device away, then I still get the error. Help?
I'm have the same problem... just updated to iOS4 on my 3G. Everything synced fine after a few problems with the backup process. The only data that was not transferred was my music to iPod. When I hooked back up to download the music I received the "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone" I have not restored back to the factory settings. Any suggestions... I don't want to lose the data on the phone.

I have the original Iphone and I decided tonight to upgrade to the 2.1. At the end of the process, when it was restoring my iphone contents (pics, contacts etc.), an error came up "ITunes cannot read the contents of the Iphone" and it is telling me to restore to factory settings? My phone now is updated with all the new stuff but in Itunes it is not reading my Iphone. I am trying to make a ringtone from Itunes and I can't do it because of this problem.

TS3988 cannot find the photo files in iCloud
I've been a Mac nut for 20 years, so I feel puzzled. But i cannot find the photo files in iCloud in order to download a few I want onto my macbook air. ideas?
The only way to sync photos between mac and devices is to use Photo Stream, but you cannot view photo files in icloud.com. Do a search (or google search) on photo stream to get all the info on this service.
BTW, if you had a MobileMe account and are trying to find photos in the gallery, there is no such service in icloud. All the mobileme galleries are deleted by now. -
When LR cannot read a photo, LR should state why
The Warning dialog has a generic message but no explanation of why LR was unable to read the photo: "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to the photo." This is not helpful, LR needs to state why.
E.g. last time, I noticed they were two photos in Lab Color Mode, so I figured out LR cannot read files in Lab Color Mode; the Warning message should state it.This is pervasive in "modern" software: software detects a problem (and almost always knows what problem it has encountered), stops the process and tells you it stopped. But programmers are lazy beasts and it seems that it has become much too much effort for them to generate an error message with some meaning and possible circumventions, etc. There is software that will facilitate this process but it is just too demeaning ... especially since programmers are supposed to write good code and reporting errors reflects poorly, eh? Having been a mainframe assembler programmer for fifteen years I know it used to be unacceptable to detect an error and not report what the error was. But since the rise of Microsoft it appears that the convenience of the programmers has way surpassed the needs of the customers and Adobe is leaning this way. They use this same "technique" when they can't export an image ... "We didn't export it ... you try to guess why not!"

I'm trying to upload photos from a USB into icloud so I can see them in my ipad, the problem is, I cannot see the "photos" icon on my icloud account in my PC, so I cannot upload anything. I downloaded 200 photos, an event folder was created, I could see all the photos and was in the process of editing them when I got a message that iPhoto unexpectedly quit. I cannot find the photos anywhere on my computer now. Is there anything to do?
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

After replacing a failed hard drive with new one I inadvertently created a different account name(home/user) than the one in the Time Machine backup. Now I cannot restore the photos in iPhoto. What are my options?
The best thing to do would be to start over. Use Setup Assistant this time.
Boot into Recovery, launch Disk Utility, and erase the startup volume. This operation will destroy all data on the volume. Quit Disk Utility and install OS X. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin.
When you reboot, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process. That’s when you transfer the data from one of your backups. For a walkthrough, see here:

Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled on the old system.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication. -
I am using a Windows 64 bit premium, the phone is the 3g 16gig, and I cannot retrieve the photos from the photo library. I can retrieve the camera roll. How do I get the photos from the photo library?
I'm sorry I was not clear, I am extremely frustrated with iPhones right now. That is the reason my new phone is an Android!
I have a camera roll folder on the iPhone that has 346 photos that I took with the iPhone. I was able to retrieve those simply by connecting the iPhone to the computer. I have a second folder on the iPhone that is called Photo Library that has 818 photos that I wanted to retrieve from my iPhone. These photos were placed onto the iPhone from a sync, but my computer crashed and I had to format the hard drive. Doing so obviously caused me to loose all of my photos on my computer. The photos on the iPhone in the Photo Library are associated to the old computer folder library so it will not sync to the new computer. I was trying to retrieve those photos, but was not having any luck.
UPDATE! I remembered that I had backed up the computer hard drive to an external hard drive before the crash. I located ALL of the photos on that hard drive that I was trying to retrieve from the iPhone Photo Library.
*NOTE* If anyone has an answer to how to retrieve these photos, please post as my father is also have issues trying to retrieve photos the same way only he did not have his backed up. -
I changed from one iPhone to another and backed the first one up to the icloud. I have restored the content to my new iphone but cannot download the photos. Any advise will be greatly appreciated
