Equium M40X -Battery discharging. Please help!

I recently bought an Equium M40X - 149, and i couldnt understand why when the ac adapter is plugged in the battery discharges itself and the computer switches off! So i took it back to the shop and they said it is just the cycle of the battery and i would need to go into the bios to change the settings.
I went into the bios but i couldnt find anything that i could change to stop this!! Can anyone point me in the right direction as it is inconvinient for me to keep taking the battery out when i want to use the laptop!!
thank you
Gemma

Hello Gemma
I dont know if I have understood you right but if the notebook is connected to AC power supply it can not be possible that the unit switches off itself. Not because of power supply. If the unit is connected to AC power supply you can remove the battery and it should work without any problem.
Sorry but I have no explanation for this and in my opinion you should contact Authorized Toshiba service partner in your country. Explain them the problem and thay can check the unit. The warranty is valid and if there is some hardware malfunction the costs will be covered.
Bye

Using my macbook pro whole day with the power adapter , will it affect my battery? Please help

It doesn't affect the battery. You can use your MacBook Pro plugged in all the time without damaging the battery. You only have to be sure that you unplug it and run a battery cycle (drain the battery without letting the Mac turn off and charge it fully) at least once a month to keep the battery life.

    Hello Cooper,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with your iPhone 5.  I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on.  I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this.  I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?
    Contact Apple Support.

  • 5 days old iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4 battery life please help

My phone is 5 days old and i am so fed up with battery life. I disabled all data settings and location services and i have nothing in notification center for any push notification. But still i lost 40% of the battery in half a day with just 5 mins of voice call and 15 mins of texting. Phone was idle the rest of the time and when i used i had brightness at around just 10-15% this is my first iPhone and totally disappointed as i saw battery to last a full day of normal usage in the internet. I am totally fed up with apple. What should i do now ? I am a student and invested an year's savings of mine to get this phone. I am totally fed up. Someone please help me.

You have to tell us what your usage pattern is like, what your reception/signal strength is, and what network type you are using (E/3G/4G/LTE)
To note, the more the screen is on (in long intervals 2+ minutes) the shorter the battery life is.
Streaming music over 3G will last 6 hours if the screen stays off for most of that time.
Email, messages, web browsing will last most of the day.
Since you have GSM, your phone should last 10 hours with light usage.

  • Zen 2GB Battery Issue - Please help!

$? I bought two Creative Zen 2GB as their battery life is up to 30 hours. I have a Microsoft Zune and it gets the 4 hours listed but both of the Zen's only get 0- hours per full charge. I fully charge, then run the recovery tool and run disk clean up, format, new firmware. I then add all mp3's at 28 bitrate, EQ off, bass off and keep the volume on 3. In the setup I the brightness down as far as it will go at 0%, I think you should be able to set it to 0%. But what am I missing to only get 0-2 hour max on these two new units? I recently read about Idle shutdown, but yesterday I charged the Zen 8 hours to be sure, then with all the optimal settings I cut it on at 0pm and let it run througout the night and at 9am it had very little charge left...please help with any ideas/suggestions as I just get links from Creative tech telling me things I am already doing.

Excellent, thanks for the replies and I read about the lock function online but it said for 4GB and up I think, but not 2GB. I thought, even with the screen at the lowest, 0% that it was too much lcd and a battery drainer...thanks!
Yes, I have the 2G ZEN player and it does have the "lock function" (often on the Creative's web site they neglect to mention the 2G) - I "lock it" every time I listen to my audio books. By using this function it "closes" (blackens) ?the LCD screen and saves the battery considerably.
When I first bought this player it was the first time I had an internal battery, all the other ones I had used -AAA battery. I was hesitant about using the type of battery in the ZEN player but I can listen ALL day and ALL night and still have battery life left. Then I recharge the battery in the wee hours of the morning, ready to listen to more books and music that day.

  • HT201401 iPhone 4s stuck on red battery screen - please help!

    Please assist.
Phone was on 1% this moring and i plugged it in as you do. The battery stayed on 1% and I then switched the phone off in a 'restart' attempt. MUCH regret now cause the phone will not switch on!
It is now stuck on the red battery icon and does not charge up or switch on :-(
Please help me! The phone is plugged into a wall and also wont reset

Try to charge it on the computer, or use another cable. Leave it on charge the whole night. If it does not work, press the home botton and screen botton together till the apple icon appears.

  • Sad face then funny battery signal please help!!!

Hi there, I bought my ipod mini about 3 weeks ago, turned it on a few days ago, first I get the Apple logo, followed by a sad ipod icon, then a battery signal which shows it has slightly charged with a bolt of lightening across it!! I have tried everything - resetting, updated all the software, bought a new USB cable, I can't restore through the updater as it won;t recognise the restore function please help!!!

Hey man...I have the EXACT same Ipod with the EXACT same problem. I went to the apple store and they told me I had to wait 3 days to make an appointment with a "Mac Genius" to look at it and that with all the repairs done it would probably cost me $150. Frustrated, I went home and did some research and heres what I found:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ljPhrFUaOY
    http://notpopular.com/blogs/josh/2006/03/29/fix-your-ipod-by-spanking-it/
I kid you not. So basically I put the wall charger on, let it charge for 3 hours. Took it off the wall plug and then slapped the $#!t out of it 4 or five times. Then turned it on. Same sad face. Tried a combination of the reboot procedure and slapping around and now it works! Good luck and hope it works for you too!
I feel like going to the apple store and slapping the crap out of "Mac Rip Ppl off Genius"

  • How can i fix my IPOD TOUCH 2ND Gen Battery! Please help

Help! I dont know what happened buht wen i tried to Use my Ipod This morning It Didnt Work!! I tried every thing nothing works! Wont even charge Nothing COMES  up. Please help i DONT have money to send it to Apple because they pay to much . If you can help thank you

the 2nd gen ipod battery is not easy for beginners to replace themselves.  It needs to be soldered.  so if you dont want to give it to apple to fix because they are too expensive you can try another company that you send it to them, they fix it and you get it back.

The title of this topic is wrong. Parallels/Windows is draining your battery. Perhaps the Parallels forums are the best place to look for a solution. E.g.:

    <Personal Information Edited By Host>

    Hi Melophage,
Happy, Happy Day! With only the opposite of help from Apple Inc., and in reality thanks to the assistance and encouragement of my BFF IRL and your good self, my grand old MacBook Pro Kallisti has risen from Hades once again, and sprung back to life – and this reply is coming at you from her very own keyboard and net connection.
My non-Apple replacement battery and a second-hand power adapter from TheBookYard.com in Liverpool arrived on Tuesday, and with the swapping in of an unblown 3A fuse, all is as well again as it was before Apple’s design-flawed A1189 battery killed Kallisti for the second time.
What I’ve neglected to mention so far is that in early 2014, the screen began to fail intermittently, then with increasing frequency, until only via a DVI-HTML cable to my 50-inch TV could I see what I was doing at all. Yesterday the screen was working again initially, but only for a couple of hours, before failing to black again.
Seems this is yet another well-known and well-documented fault with all the MacBook Pros that use the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor – see, eg: Apple’s (also prematurely terminated) ‘MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues’ » http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2377 . I’ve a shed load of reading up to do on this issue from all over the web, including what appear to be some possible DIY fixes. I’ll most likely not waste any more time or energy on expecting Apple to take any responsibility for yet another well-known and well-documented fault with their MacBook Pro, since I find their naked contempt policy for Mac owners who fail to buy a shiny new Mac when the old one breaks down to be utterly revolting (not to mention environmentally unethical and unnecessarily destructive).
Re: you yourself being of the Yanqui petite bourgeois persuasion – on the two occasions I’ve been fortunate enough to visit the USA, I’ve been genuinely impressed by the admirable attributes of the Americans I’ve met and stayed with: heartwarmingly generous with their time and attention, welcoming with an effusive hospitality, helpful, friendly, and compassionate. Yet there’s a world of difference between the esteem in which I can hold individual Americans, and the contempt in which I can hold the ruling class social institutions of any country, including especially the USA and my own, the UK: greed-centric corporations, brutally repressive police forces, mass-killing-focussed foreign policy initiatives, etc., &c. Rest assured, from what little I know of you, you’re certainly in my highly esteemed American individuals category.
I don’t know how useful my advice was, since it wasn’t sufficient to convince the store manager at the Regent Street Apple store to provide you with a replacement battery.
I’m pretty sure nothing short of physical torture (which is obviously and repellently obnoxious) would convince that heartless, hard-nosed SoB to break with Apple’s iron cast built-in obsolescence policy – listen up and listen good: your Mac’s so old it’s ‘vintage’, so screw you, buddy – if you ain’t gonna buy a new Mac, or buy from us the parts needed to repair the damage we did to your old Mac with our known-to-be-faulty components, you can can just get the **** out of our shiny, shiny Apple Store, coz respecting your fancy-schmantzy ‘UK statutory consumer rights’ is only gonna put a dent in our bottom line, and getting to be filthy rich off of the likes of youse is what Apple’s really all about these days, capiche? I have GOT TO End This Conversation NOW!
There’s plenty of free web-based help and advice on reporting dodgy traders like Apple to the Trading Standards authority, and pursuing reparations from such lawbreakers through the small claims track in the civil courts. So now I’ve Kallisti back up-&-running again (albeit with a dead screen), on which to document my anti-Apple legal research, I’m taking my time to ensure I’m following due process, and relishing the irony of developing a suitable regulatory/legal punishment for Apple on the very ‘vintage’ flagship MacBook Pro which their offending policy has all but written off as obsolete. Plus, since it turns out its “Super”drive won’t eject a freshly burned DVD-R, I’ve ordered an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32-bit DVD to do a fresh unibooting install on my 2001-design backup PC notebook, to add some non-Apple computer robustness to my resources, until such time as I’ve saved up enough for to buy a purpose-built touch screen Ubuntu 14.04 LTS notebook, such as the System76 Darter UltraTouch (» https://system76.com/laptops/model/daru4 ); and that leaves plenty of time ahead to compare the long-term customer support reputations of potential Ubuntu PC manufacturer companies, to ensure that I don’t get taken for a fool by another Apple-like mobster-type corporation.
Time to begin investigating coconutBattery, I think. Many thanks again, Melophage – with zero support from fellow Mac users, I’d most likely have given up and thrown in the towel some time ago, but you’ve helped me to find the self-motivation to persist in perusing a just solution, despite my beginning this process by being sunk in the depths of an episode of severe clinical depression. I must admit, I’d no idea that contending against Yanqui corporate fascism could be so therapeutic!

  • Ios7.0.6 Iphone5 battery drain please help

Ever since I updated to ios7, i have noticed a MONSTROUS decline in battery life. I was weary to update in the first place and waited almost 2 months before I did. Regrettably, i gave in. Battery life declined almost 75%.. I turned off every single power hungry feature, even LTE. Nothing helped. After further research, I tried to restore as a new phone.. Nothing. Restore from backup, nothing. I have taken every single measure to reduce the battery drain to NO AVAIL. So about a month ago i called apple, being out of warranty for about 4 months, they ran a test on the battery and found it was at 91% which i was told was pretty good for a 14-15 month old phone. They offered battery replacement for 100$ or so and said "it may not even fix the problem". The other solution was to buy a new iphone. UNACCEPTABLE!! They offer no help, and even hinted that the software is the problem. And then told me it may also be another hardware problem(being the owner, i know for a FACT it is a software problem caused by ios7, as the battery life was great before the update and terrible immediately after). And basically told me i was S.O.L. My question is this, has anyone found ANY possible way to fix this issue short of downgrading(if even possible)? Please refrain from the basic and known ways, as I have tried them all many times.. Im looking for a REAL solution to the problem. And if this issue is not remedied or fixed by apple soon, they may lose ANOTHER customer to android. I have had iphones since my 3g and this is by far the most irritating problem i have encountered. Please someone help! Im not ready to get a new 800$ phone in less than 2 years! And i know for a fact battery replacement will barely help if at all.

    Try:
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Another battery issue, please help

Okay, Got my iphone 4s october 30th for sprint, and i had absoulutely no isse with battery even before the update, could go a few days without charging. But since saturday its been terrible, and doesnt veen last a day, and I noticed that in my stats my usage is matched closely by my standby time, which does not make sense at all, so something in the back ground is running. Here is what i have done to try fix
Turn of time zone , didnt work
    reset location info, didnt work

I have a T60p that I started having problems with the battery. It would not run on baterry, and the indicater light always flashed orange and dead. Well, I bought a new genuine battery and still the same problem! I know the battery is charged, as it works in other T60p's just fine. But my laptop acts as if its not even on the machine. When I unplug, it will not recognize or attempt to run on battery. Any idea's would be a great help as I don't really want to send it in to IBM support, and be out a laptop for who knows how long!

you probably have to send it in, something is is wrong with the MB hardware.
