Equium M50 series, sound devices "working fine" but no sound at all.

I've seen tons of posts on this topic, and yes, the devices are properly installed, there are no driver conflicts and I have checked the manual volume control on the front of the laptop. The sound used to work fine and suddenly, nothing's happening.
Can someone help before I break this thing please?

Thanks for your help, but unfortunately it was to no avail.....
Plugging headphones in works fine, which suggests i may have damaged both speakers, but hell, I'm getting a Macbook Pro soon anyway, 'cos this laptop is pretty **bleep** useless at doing anything I need it for.
And no, I am not running Vista, and thankfully (because of the nearing purchase of a Mac) never will need to. It's Microsoft's biggest mistake.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Why does streaming iTunes Match to Apple TV from iOS devices work fine but from my Mac Mini not so fine?

As the topic heading states... if I airplay anything from an iOS device I have no issues but from my Mac Mini I am plagued with problems. If I airplay iTunes Match to Apple TV quite often the sound will drop or stutter. I will have to pause the song and start it again.
Also I can be playing everything fine and then all of a sudden my Mac will lose sight of the Apple TV and the only thing that will resolve it is restarting the Apple TV.
Both my Mac and Apple TV and iOS devices are running the very latest updates.

How do I open a library book on a recently acquired Samsung Nook? I get "too many activations" error. I have an active adobe digital editions and my other devices work fine. Custumer Support was unable to get the new device activated.

Step 1 - by trial and error...
So far, I have been able to create physical files containing MP3 and JPG on the NAS using the Windows XP systems to copy from shared locations on the Vista and Win7 boxes. This process has been aided by the use of a 600 GB SATA 2 capable hard drive enclosure. I first attach to Win 7 or Win Vista and reboot to see the local drive spaces formatted on the portable device. Then I copy files from the user's private directories to the public drive space. When the portable drive is wired to an XP box, I can use Windows to move the files from the portable device to the NAS without any of the more advanced file attributes being copied to the NAS. Once the files are on the NAS, I can add the new folder(s) to iTunes on any of the computers and voila, the data becomes sharable via iTunes. So far, this works for anything that I have completely purchased, or for MP3's I made from the AIC files created when I purchased alblums via iTunes.
I have three huge boxes full of vynl records I've accumulated. The ones that I've successfully digitized via a turntable attached to the sound card on one of my computers and third party software, have found their way to the NAS after being imported into iTunes and using it to bring down available album art work. In general I've been reasonably well pleased with the sound quality of digital MP3 files created this way, but the software I've been using sometimes has serious problems automatically separating individual songs from the album tracks and re-converting "one at a time" isn't very efficient.

I have a tm2 1050ez and am experiencing problems with my HDMI port.
When I connect it the display automatically gets duplicated and everything works fine, but when I try to play a movie with vlc for example I do not get any sound through the TV, only on the tablet.
Of course I went into the sound manager because I suspected that you must tell the tm2 where to play the sound, but to my surpise it said that the HDMI cable was not connected?
I therefore could not make any changes to the default output device...
Even in the IDT application wants to tell me that the HDMI cable is not connected. I have plugged and unplugged it several times to no avail.
I hope someone can help me on the above, I already searched the net for several hours but havn't seen a similar problem, with the most problems it does show the cable as conneted..

I have same issue as reported by another board member.
I've HP DV4t 1300 laptop with Vista 64bit with service pack 2. I upgraded all drivers and everything is upto date.
On awaking from sleep/hibernation AUDIO is screwed up on LCD connected via HDMI. No matter what I do if I make my computer sleep/hibernate and then connect LCD I'm unable to get audio working.
Help from technician will be appreciated. Technician can reporduce issue as I mentioned.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

try this.
get back into your router's settings and start deleting devices that are not connected to your router.
you can also delete the ones that are connected - they'll connect again.
on the DHCP side of it, increase the amount of users that can connect/log in to your router.
see if that sorts it out for you.

I have the same problem. Running Win 8 64Bit, updated to latest ITunes and now will not recognize phone or pad. Followed all advice from Apple (uninstall/restart/re-install, all in exact order) ... nothing. Spoke with Apple tech and walked through the whole process, but no resolution. It sounds like you may be having issues with the connectivity of your iPhone with the Bluetooth in your vehicle. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting that Bluetooth connectivity with your iOS device:
If you can’t use a Bluetooth accessory or car kit
To resolve the issue, you'll need to first sign in to iCloud and review your devices:
Sign in to iCloud on your iOS devices and Macs with OS X Yosemite (available this fall).
On one of your devices, tap Settings > Bluetooth and look under My Devices. You'll see all devices that are connected to Bluetooth, but make sure that you see your Apple devices that are signed in to iCloud and are using iOS 8 or OS X Yosemite.
Sign out of your iCloud account from any devices that you don't want to use. To sign out of iCloud on an iOS device, tap Settings > iCloud > Sign Out.
Then, remove any inactive devices from iCloud:
Sign in to iCloud.com.
Select Find My iPhone.
Select any devices that aren't active anymore.
Wait for Find My iPhone to stop trying to find the inactive device.
You should see the option to remove this device from your account. Select it to remove the device.
After following the steps above, restart the device with the issue. Then try to use it with your Bluetooth accessory.
