Equium U300-151 crashes from sleep or hibernate when WLAN is switched on

I have a new Equium U300-151. BIOS V3.80 and Intel wireless version 11.5.0.32 (which seems to be the latest driver). Vista SP1
When resuming work from sleep or hibernate mode the laptop always crashes if the wireless switch is on.
I am aware this is a problem that is discussed in a number of forums but apart from hopeful references to SP1 and drivers I have not come across a solution. SP1 does not seem to have helped resolve my problem.
Any answers - thanks.

Hi
I never noticed such issue on my notebooks and to be honest I didnt find any similar cases here in the forum.
From my knowledge the new BIOS update is available for this unit on the Toshiba driver page.
I would recommend downloading the right and compatible BIOS and to perform the update.
Hopefully it helps.

  • Windows explorer + other windows applications crashing regularly at resume from sleep and hibernate

    Good evening,
I have a Thinkpad W510 (4319-29G) running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. The system is loaded with the latest software and drives from Lenovo including BIOS 6NET74WW (1.34), upgrade was done Dec 7th (windows update performed Dec 15th).
    The machine has
    - 8Gb RAM
    - nVidia Quadro FX880M, driver version is 8.17.12.5896, 7-9-2010 and video card BIOS is 70.16.5f.0.b
    - dual harddrives,
       - one Seagate Momentus XT 500Gb (ST95005620AS) FW rev SD23 in the main location with C: and some other partitions
       - one Hitatchi 320 Gb (HTS723232L9SA60) FW rev FC4ZC50B in the bay.
    - Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN, driver version 13.3.0.24, 7-14-2010
    - Intel 82577LM Gigabit Network Connection, driver version 11.5.10.1030, 7-22-2010
Recently I have experienced crashes of multiple windows components at resume from sleep and hibernate.
It seems to happen when swithing location (from work to home) and thus switching from docking station with wired network connection to no dock and wireless network connection (dont know if this has any bearing but anyway).

It seems that a module "nview64.dll" is always the first application to crash. I suspect this has something with graphics to do.
I dont know if this event triggers the following crashes or if it is so that the display is initialized before the other programs.
After all crash diagnostic messages have been shown windows explorer restarts and also other applications restart but a lot of system tools in the system tray are gone so a cold start is needed to restore all tools again.
I really would appreciate any help and suggestions how to fix this really annoying issue.
    Thanks, Anton

I had a similar issue, as soon as a described even a little bit of it to warrenty support they sent someone to swap the board
It seems thats the only fix, its been fine since

If you use the Vista OS then a SP1 should solve this annoying issue.
I found also this Toshiba document:

  • Freezing/Crashing in sleep or hibernate mode after hardware change

Hello. To get right to the chase, I have this envy 15 series laptop. It came with a 768GB hdd, which I upgraded to an SSD (512GB one) Recently, I decided to downgrade the storage back to the original hdd the laptop came with. I was obviously expecting my system's performance to decrease, especially with boot times and what not, but I was also expecting the performance to be the same as what it was when I originally received my laptop, more or less. However, this has not been the case. The laptop's performance has greatly suffered after reinstalling the *originaly hdd this laptop came with* Issues: Boot up times are ridiculously slow now. I mean, so slow that I figure I should go downstairs and have a drink while I wait for it to boot slow. It was never even remotely this slow, before or after upgrading to my ssd. When the pc goes to sleep, it does not wake up. Perhaps it would wake up if I left it alone for a few hours, but I'm not willing to do that, and no one should be. I'm also speaking literally right now. I have to force my laptop off and then turn it on normally in order to boot back from "sleep" mode. I've since had to turn off automatic sleep. If I close the lid to let my laptop hybernate, it does not recover. When I turn it on, it looks like it will return from hypernate, but it does not. It turns itself off. When I turn it on again, it boots normally, but it does so as if I had shutdown the pc and then booted back up. It takes windows a long time to login, and get everything running so that the pc runs normal. None of this is normal. This pc has absolutely no excuse to be running this slow. It never has, and it only started after switching back to my hdd. What I did: I cloned my HDD onto an SSD. In case it matters, I used Acronis true image to do it. Last night, I switched back, and used the same software to clone my SSD back into my HDD. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but there you go. I used sector writes to clone the SSD back into the HDD. I think I did the same to clone the HDD into the SSD the first go around, as I seem to recall having issues with the automatic clone last time as well as this time, but I'm not 100% positive. Troubleshooting steps I've taken: I first ran a complete chkdsk /r in order to fix any problems, and then allow me to extend my C drive for all of the free space my disk now had, due to cloning a smaller drive. I then did a full defrag and optimize on my disk. Finally I ran winsat to recheck my hw's performance, and let windows know that I no longer had an SSD but rather an HDD. This turned superfetch back on, and I confirmed that it was now running again. I'm not really sure what else to do.

    Hi  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!
I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 15-j171nr Notebook and issues with Freezing/Crashing in sleep or hibernate mode after hardware change. Here is a link on performance issues. I recommend to restore the BIOS defaults. You could restore the BIOS with this document selecting the reloading the BIOS default settings which has helped others. I hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Crash from sleep in Yosemitie

Since I have upgraded my MacMini to Yosemite, my Mac Mini crashes when it wakes from sleep.
I have it set to sleep from 1 AM until 8 AM.
When I get home from work, it is at the login screen, and when I log in, it says that the system crashed, did I want to send the info to Apple.
Looking at the log, I can see it crashed from sleeping mode.
    Ideas? Fixes?
    Thanks

    John,
Do you have a speaker connected to the headphone jack? If so unplug it and see what happens. look for my post about the same problem.

  • Satellite P300-13J doesn't wake up from Sleep or Hibernate

My laptop (Windows Vista 32 bit) is unable to wake up from sleep or hibernate.
Laptop is set to the Balanced Power Scheme.
However, once the display has turned off (after 10 minutes), I am unable to wake it up.
Unable to open Task Manager, Shut Down, nothing works, all I see is a black screen, the disk access light blinking and the fan running.
I end up holding the power button to switch off.
This is a recent development, it might have started when I installed Office 2010 on the laptop.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
Since when did you notice this issue?
Was this issue present after clean system installation?
How about the BIOS? Is it up to date?
I read in some threads that BIOS update could helps to sort out such similar problems.
So BIOS update is definitely worth a try.
Also the display driver update would be recommended. Of course just in case you are not using the latest version.
By the way: is Win 7 an option for you? The Win 7 is much better and lot of different issues which appeared in Vista system, have been foxed in Win 7

I've recently used Windows Update to install vista SP1 on my laptop, however since this install I cannot resume from Sleep or Hibernate. (The service pack had installed successfully - according to Windows anyway).
When resuming from Sleep, I get a blank screen.
    When resuming from Hibernation, I get a STOP error: +Stop 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x82F11020, 0x9A9D9714, 0x00000000)+ caused by *Classpnp.sys*.
After checking these forums, I've seen that Toshiba does not currently support SP1 +is that correct?+
+*If so, when/how will we be notified when Toshiba release a "patch" for Vista SP1 compatibility? I'm guessing via the TEMPO service?*.+
Prior to installing SP1, I installed all updates (from both Microsoft and Toshiba) and had no problems; all drivers remain up to date.
Thanks for any replies in advance.

I presume this happens due to a compatibility issue between some drivers and SP1
    > After checking these forums, I've seen that Toshiba does not currently support SP1 is that correct?
    Yes this is right.
    > If so, when/how will we be notified when Toshiba release a "patch" for Vista SP1 compatibility? I'm guessing via the TEMPO service?
I think there should be information on the Toshiba driver page, support page or we will receive some information from Toshiba via Tempo applications.
    We will see

  • Mac crashing from sleep since 10.8.5

Since updating to 10.8.5 my imac has been crashing from sleep. The past 2 nights I put my imac to sleep and when I wake up in the morning the computer is already awake before me with an error saying "unable to load disc" or something like that. I have to get it to reproduce it again so I can share the exact error. Anyone else having this issue?
This is happening on my new late 2012 imac fully loaded. 32gb ram, 3.4ghz i7, 3tb fusion, 680mx graphics 2gb

I don't have this issue, which is strange because usually when Apple software sneezes, my computer gets the flu. I'm using a MacBook Pro though so maybe the issue only affects desktops - I've seen a few posts on forums regarding other iMacs and Mac minis. My guess is, that this is a glitch in the software causing a power issue. You can try resetting your SMC (System Management Controller), which is usually a quick fix to power issues - but my guess is that Apple will adress this issue shortly. Resetting your PRAM may also help, if the issue is non-power related.
Instructions on resetting your SMC can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

  • Lenovo G770 Fan not spinning up after resume from sleep or hibernate

    Hi guys,
My lenovo G770 is facing an issue where when ever I resume the system from either sleep mode or hibernate, the fan does not spin up, as a result I have to either restart the system or open the system, pull the wire of the fan and put it back in the power socket.
Lets make 2015 the year of the #DO

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hey Abdul,
Welcome back.   If the fan runs normally on first boot until you suspend / resume, then I might imagine this is power management quirk, or something confused in the embedded controller.
    1) Try going into BIOS and reload defaults - this might refresh values there.
    2) Try uninstall / reinstall power management driver and the energy cut software (Idea power manager).
Did you recently update BIOS or drivers?
I would also try some temp monitoring software just to see how CPU temps run after you come back from sleep to see if the fan should be running.

A Mac OS X expert can. I am not one of those.
If you don't get the response you want here but you do want to decipher the info, research help is here:

  • A665-s6094 starting from sleep problem/hibernate problem and starting form shutdown problem

hey i have a 2 day old toshiba a665-s6094 laptop and whenever i put it to sleep(as in closing the screen not from the button nor the start menu) it cant start again so i have to remove and put back the battery for it to work.
Also it on hibernate, only the display turns off and it doesnt hibernate.
and i have the same problem with shutdown, sometimes doesnt start after shutdown, and only removing the battery and putting it back in makes it start.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I am 99% sure that you have the option set to require a password when waking from sleep. If that's the case, the Mac will go back to sleep after a few minutes if no password is entered on wake.
    Two workarounds:
    1) Turn off the password-on-wake preference, or:
    2) Fast-user-switch to the login window before sleeping your Mac. When it wakes it will stay awake; and you still have the security of needing a password to get back into your user account.

  • No Airport activity on wake from sleep (but only when opening the lid)

I've read a lot of discussions dealing with wi-fi issues, but none seems to match my own problem.
I purchased a MBP 13" 2.4 GHz mid 2010 a few weeks ago and I'm running SL 10.6.3. I connect to the internet via a Time Capsule ethernet connected to a D-Link DSL 300T modem. Everything is updated and running smooth, but on wake from sleep opening the lid there's no way to get Airport working. Most of the times it's inactive, but I can not activate it in System Prefs > Network. Sometimes shows up as active, the Airport icon in menu bar keeps blinking but can't connect to the Time Capsule (whose light stays green all the time). The only way to get it back to work is restarting the MBP. This does never happen if I don't close the lid, though putting my Mac to sleep: on waking Airport works fine.
    I'm enclosing the Console log:

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
my MBP 13" Mid 2010 running 10.6.4. has similar problems. I like to use it closed lid connected to an external display with apple usb keyboard. In closed lid mode airport connection fails several times or I do get a poor connection, e.g. one or two curves in the airport menu bar icon with significant lower connection speeds. I do connect to a airport extreme n station with does its job rock solid. as my wife uses a two year old macbook and I have got an G4 with a sonnet airport card running both without problems even from a greater distance in our home it seems to me that the macbook pro has serious problems operating with the internal wifi antenna in closed lid mode, maybe due to shielding from the lid?
Has anybody experienced the same problem or successfully found a way to solve this problem? When using open lid mode wifi problems never occurred, but that's not the preferred option for my desktop table.

  • T61p does not suspend to sleep or hibernate when idle

I am running a T61, Windows XP SP3 with all drivers updated and I am experiencing this strange power management problem. Regardless of the settings in the power management, my T61 won't go to sleep or hibernate on its own.
But pressing the Fn + F4 or Fn + F12 button works like a charm and the system comes back up fine.
I upgraded to SP3 in order to see if that would fix the glitch, but no success. Any ideas?

Same here, I get same problem but I using Vista Ultma 32, did you try don't stay the browser and the sleep, hibernate will work?? I sometime can reset, but if reboot, it will crazy again.
